>>
>>98520583
former I guess, its melb. I'm pretty sure the others come from like SE or SW so CBD is the easiest meeting place. I think that there's two stores that are closer, but one is still about 90 minutes and the other is more of a card store so I dunno if they have table space and I don't want to 'waste' a day off to visit to find out considering I'd then have to convince almost everyone to travel even further just to be more convenient to me, that'd be a dick move

Id say they're about equal. Nagash is the eternal bronze medalist of fantasy, and may as well be the embodiment of the potential man meme. Meanwhile the emperor is barely even a character at this point in the "story" of 40k, unless GW really lets saber off the leash for SM3.
>>
>>98520590
Melbourne is indeed ass, but I have a feeling it's more me living not quite in the ass end boonies where it's a no go but also not nearby actual suburbia. The Goldilocks Zone of bad games. But if I actually lived in the city I'd probably be in jail for killing the insane fags in the city

I usually play at mates houses or clubs.
I was speaking with my local GW black shirt how it was good that they're letting games happen again in store since the main manage that's usually there is a big reason why so many people go into warhammer in my area, and he just drops that they've been allowed to run normally with games and painting since back in 2022 but some retarded HR dipshit forgot to send the communication to the whole country.

I've been working on a Mars/red planet table for a while now and have most of the terrain done and painted up, and I'm kinda just dicking around with adding scatter to it. I'm kinda tempted to make a "face on Mars" style thing to pay homage to the IRL rock formation, but I'm unsure of how big it should be and what race would have made it. I know IRL the face on Mars is fucking massive, too big for any real table if you scaled it down realistically, but a smaller homage to it would be fun. What do you guys think?
>>
>>98520758

They should never have one because the absence of the father figure that kept them from becoming monsters is the only actually interesting thing about the legion. Even the sanguinor spirit is too much Sanguinius really. Ultramarines or Salamanders with or without their primarchs are the same thing, nothing fundamentally changes. But Blood Angels without the grief and the hopelessness of their nature are boring.

Nagash was written as someone ambitious, succesful but not 'undefeatable or the settings ends' like the Emperor. Dude created necromancy, some research knockoff that was stolen from him created the vampire race/bloodlines but also was defeated and killed. Coming back from death as a giant skeleton pope is pretty cool. Big E hasn't really, he might be alive/dying constantly trapped to the throne, he might just be dead (in M36 hence the curse foundings and all that stuff).
Nagash > Emperor

I always thought cloning a psyker specifically does not always make the clone a psyker? Like the new soul always has a fresh roll of the dice. The Imperium tried this and failed. If they could make clones of Psykers it would be trivially easy to keep the Emperor fed his 10k a day without a massive galaxy-wide logistics network of black ships.

My first Orc from the box. Decided to paint him white so he's proppa killy. This was probably the most "trust the process" mini I've worked on. He looked pretty bad at the base coat, but was saved by an aggressive dry brushing of bronze to make him dirty and rusty.

I think I need some advice on the Ork flesh though. Anyone got a wash that works well for Ork flesh?

White paint scheme is based, but I'd recommend using Pro Acryl titanium white. Great coverage compared to every other white and should help make things smoother. You could also prime white and paint up from there. Additionally, you can add a lot to your models by throwing on some metallics here and there instead of the white. There's a lot of bare metal on Ork models typically, so knowing where to use the white and where to keep the metals bare would help quite a bit. Here's an exa of a deff dreads with quite a bit of bare metal, it really helps break up the model.
As for Ork flesh, here's my scheme (results here >>98520986)
>Basecoat orruk flesh
>Wash with 3:1 mix of biel-tan green and Ork flesh contrast
>Smooth out with mixture of Ork flesh contrast and orruk flesh as needed (can go into full-on layering with this if needed).

At least 1/4 of the model is silver, it doesn't really come through on the image. All the greeblies, servos, motors, pipes and beams are bare metal.

>‘Perhaps you should look, Orikan. Your dismissal has blinded you to their potential. Yes, when working as a group they are quite stupid, but rare, exceptional individuals do exist. And with so many humans, those individuals may not be as difficult to come by as you think. Go on, really look. Have you truly seen them? Look how different one is to another. See them in their uniqueness, not in their similarity.’

>Orikan gave him a look that betrayed utter contempt, but did roll his head around to examine the ranks of humans. He looked for longer than Trazyn expected, perhaps trying to further run down the countdown clock.

>‘Huh,’ the astromancer snorted. ‘You know, I never noticed it before, but they are different colours.’

>‘Yes. There is a pigment in the skin, melanin, that controls that.’

>‘Interesting,’ said Orikan. He was quiet for a moment. ‘So this melanin is what makes these Cadians’ skin light tan and loose, but a Mordian’s tight, thick and blue. Fascinating. Such a miraculous substance deserves investigation.’

>Trazyn processed the comment thrice, trying to work out what the cryptek could possibly be saying.

>‘Orikan,’ he responded. ‘They are wearing clothes.’

>‘Ah yes. Of course,’ Orikan said quickly, covering his embarrassment. ‘I remember clothes.’

>‘Did you not sense the material difference between cloth and body during your spectromantic scry?’

>‘If you think I employed anything but the most basic visual scans, you are heavily overestimating my interest in this subject. Come now, let us see this mine-sacrifice you have selected.’

>They were quiet for a moment as they walked. Trazyn stared at his colleague as the astromancer fixed his ocular straight ahead.

>‘Did you really forget about clothes?’

>‘Well why should I remember?’ he snapped. ‘It’s been seventy million years since we wore them. Good riddance, is what I say.’

I know that GW is greedy as fuck with even greedier shareholders, and that's the reason why they keep jacking up the prices, but what is the end goal?
Like if they keep going with this shit soon a box of intercessors will cost like 90 USD. Eventually the prices are so damn high that nobody is going to buy this.
Also it doesn't help that economies through out the world are stagnant as fuck, meaning all wages/salaries are staganant too while inflation is out of control.
It'll get to the point where nobody will bother buying 40k shit because they literally cannot afford it because putting food and water on the table and having a roof over your head is more important than plastic toysoldiers.

So again, what the fuck is the end goal? This shit legitmately cannot go on forever.

>>
>>98521232
On top of the greed they also have the UK Govt taxing on plastic and other pollution related stuff (the big reason resin is effectively gone).

There is no end goal. They will keep raising prices, sometimes out of greed, sometimes out of taxes, sometimes out of inflation.

A good company would lower their expenses first, optimize and improve quality, only raising prices when the quality would suffer otherwise.

>>

Orikan & Trazyn's Bogus Journey has a zany and ambitious story to tell. But I'm abusing ctrl+f to mine it for memes.

>Valeria slid up beside Executioner Phillias, who was kneeling as she stared at the complex below. When crouched, the praetorian’s massive melonsized head was level with her own.

>‘Throne,’ she said, jerking her head towards the squabbling pair. ‘Do you have marriage in your culture?’

>‘Only as punishment for the most heinous offences.’

>Valeria blinked. When responding, the praetorian had not taken her eyelenses off the city. ‘Is that a joke?’

>‘In part, yes. A court did once legally join them in a union as a punitive measure. Once the punishment was over, this union was dissolved.’

>‘So they’re divorced.’

>Phillias paused, as though processing this new term. ‘If that is meant in earnest, it is incorrect.’

>‘And if it is a joke?’

>‘Then it is a good joke.’

The price people are paying to get models from scalpers is closer to the maximum price customers are willing to pay for the item than the MSRP, so they will increase the price incrementally (accounting for the fact that some of the demand is temporary due to rules). They're very strongly incentivized to do this because they cost of doing business in the UK increases constantly, but because publicly traded they always need to show growth.

Not helping is the total lack of credible competition.

>kasrkin
I think Kasrkin have been mostly trash-tier since they were released with a couple short periods of being super super strong and oppresive.

I haven't played KT since the last edition, but I recall that they're a 10 man team of "elite" humans with a very 1-dimensional playstyle.
They just shoot and kill shit and melt in melee. they used to have a combat knife equipment which makes no fucking sense becauese why would you NOT equip your super hotshot soldiers with a knife? Combined with a ploy called "For Cadia" something where they got a melee buff and could do a lot of damage before they die in melee if you got a lucky roll.

Anyway I think they're fundamentally a poorly designed team and GW doesn't know how to balance them so they keep them shit because a boring, forgotten team that most people use for 40k causes less uproar than an oppresive ranged team. You don't want shooting to be too strong but it's all they do, so GW kind of screwed themselves.

>powercreep
Lol it's like a meme within the playerbase that every expansion is stronger than the last. I remember when the beastmen team came out and they were shitstomping everybody, also the inquisitorial agents and their ploy that just completely shut off an opponent's ploy essentially silencing them for a turn which was devastating.

idk I think the consoomers like KT because it means their favorite niche subfaction gets a shiny new box that will sit in their closet half assembled until they put it on ebay.

Yes, currently.
But if GW keeps jacking up prices, which it will lets be honest, it just means scalpers will in return jack up their prices even higher to keep their profit margins. It's basic business.
However, even there eventually will be a point where people will just stop giving shit and stop buying from scalpers.

And once people stop buying from scalpers, scalpers are just going to be sitting on thousands if not tens of thousands dollars worth of product they can't sell.
Meaning even the scalpers will stop buying GW's shit because they know it won't sell and make them their money back.

like 2% of scalpers make a profit. Most are manchildren who do it as a side hustle or actually dont have jobs because they are mentally disabled (autistic, executive dysfunction, schizophrenic, etc). They will do it no matter what, because its become a memetic concept in stupid peoples brains that its free money. Same with pokemon, scalpers consistently get BTFO'd and lose money when new stock arrives but they still do it and they NEVER sell their product. They complain about it all the time in scalper spaces which I look at sometimes for schadenfreude. If you look on ebay a lot of this overpriced stuff will say like "10 in stock", and when you check back on the 40 dollar over MSRP stock it will say "9 in stock" by the time its not longer scalpable because GW got more product. So they bought 10 kits, sold 1 and are sitting on selling the rest for MSRP which they never will.

There was also a scalper on Hoarders, and he kept buying things like warhammer kits, TCG cards, dnd models, plastic toy trash to try to scalp and none of it sold and he kept buying more to fill out his "store" and was thousands of dollars in the hole but its fat enabler mom never stopped him and was just proud he wasn't a vegetable.

The former head of product design did a podcast interview with that bald fuck Peachy (who used to be a GW painting spokesperson) and some other fat bongs on The Painting Phase on Youtube. I think it was removed but it had a lot of information.

GW knows almost exaclty how much they can set their prices at a given moment. Market researchers say the threshold point is about 70-80 USD for when most people start to consider a kit "too expensive."

The product designers said that GW's primary target demographic is "aunts and mums" who are buying stuff for their teenage sons and nephews. The same ones who don't know any better and have the spending power. GW knows the veteran hobbyist and TTGamer uses better paints from other brands, airbrushes and prints a lot of their minis, doesn't buy overpriced GW spraypaint and brushes, and proxxies or resuses older models.

personall I think that western society has a lot of single, childless, lonely men ages 20-40 with decent jobs. We have more than enough money to support ourselves but not nearly enough to support a family, so we spend all that money on plastic crap and trading cards and toys like women buy shoes and books. Those are the people who spend $300 on a Battleforce when a decent printer AND curing station is only slightly more.

>>98521305

It's very dystopian, only ones remembered or even matter in the Imperium are the leaders in their extravagant armor with gold embellishments, far away and ignorant to the actual everyday life of the Imperium.
Not the poor guardsman who was a humble farmer before being drafted into a war he never knew about, for an empire that doesn't care about him. >$300 on a Battleforce when a decent printer AND curing station is only slightly more.

to be fair, the cost is higher because of the time cost of learning, plus wash + cure station, plus resin, plus pile of failed prints with toxic resin, and learning to create a safe ventilated space etc etc. Proonting is harder than it looks which is why not that many people do it.

Spoilers from the Trazyn X Orikan novel "The Wicked and the Warped:

-The Maelstrom has existed since the Necrontyr were beings of flesh

-Inquisitor Valeria explained how the Warp works to an incredulous Orikan. She said that events that happen in the present of Real Space might affect something in the past in the Warp. Time in the Warp doesn't move linearly. From the side of the Warp, Warpstorms, such as the Great Rift, might have always existed.

-The first expedition to the world of Amenthis happened during the War in Heaven, as the Necrons turned on the C'tan. The Necrons were attacked by Nurglite and Khornate daemons. The Necron leader, Sothka, the Arcane, noticed how the daemons gradually began to look more similar to their enemies.

-On Amenthis, the servants of Vashtorr were experimenting for aeons on the captured Necrons to find a way to corrupt them. They sent a distress message to bait Trazyn to launch a second expedition.

-The leader of Vashtorr's servants is called Pustamutadis the Observer. It's classified in the novel as a Greater Daemon and a godhead. The daemon claimed that it was kin to the Necrons in the sense that it was created by them in the Warp. The War in Heaven's bloodshed, desire, plague, and change echoed in the Warp. The torment and deaths of the Necrons' victims spawned it. And from the moment of its first existence, it has always existed. Whenever Trazyn imprisons or experiments on mortals, the daemon feeds and grows powerful.

-Pustamutadis is a mutating mass of organs and limbs from various animals mixed with cybernetics. It can assimilate knowledge by literally eating it.

I played Dawn of War Dark Crusade Jesus Christ 2006 was twenty years ago. Didn't play it day one but still.
I remember when Necrons were omnicidal robots that killed even bacteria, and weren't silly old coots.
Granted, they didn't speak because "you don't explain yourself to ants", but it was much better than "I forgot clothes lmao".

I did enjoy the part where Trazyn finds out Orikan has been rewinding time to force the trial's outcome. And the whoops with the genestealer

-Via warp sorcery, the Daemon had deceived Sothka, Trazyn's mentor, into believing that it had restored his soul, turning him into its deluded servant. In its experiments to corrupt Necrons, it managed to turn Necrons into mindless puppets to its will, induce the Flayer and Destroyer transformations, and cause severed Necrons to have their forms colonized by Nurglite corruption, making them look similar to Plaguebearers.
-Pustamutadis wanted to turn Trazyn into its puppet, claim his command cartouche, and gain access to Solemnace. It would have turned it into its laboratory to create armies of Warp mutant cyborgs that would have conquered the galaxy.
-During the finale, Pustamutadis and the powerful amalgamated Deceiver Shard from the previous novel clash. The daemon attempted to devour it. The Deceiver pushed the daemon into the portal, causing both of them to merge briefly in a mix of cosmic and Warp energy before the portal spread them across timelines across the galaxy.

-There was a sword in Trazyn's gallery which was among his prized possessions. The daemons invading the Solemnace feared the sword and steered clear of it.

-Trazyn lets go of Inquistor Valeria for her service, but the vengeful Corsairs she allied with to escape betrayed her and took her hostage. When the seer read her mind, they saw the sword and recognised it as a Crone sword. They intend to drag her with them back later to Solemnace to claim the Crone sword.

-A message from the Silent King to Trazyn. Orikan has sided with Imotekh in the "misunderstanding" between them (the Sautekh rebellion). The Silent King demands that Trazyn capture Orikan and bring the traitor to him for trial.

Yes. All the crone swords are accounted for except for the one that is explicitly held by slaanesh in her throne room at the center of her palace that has the rules "anyone daemon or otherwise who gazes upon Slaanesh's Visage instantly and irrevocably becomes her slave - body and soul." The Ynnari are even aware of this so there's a 0 percent chance this is a real cronesword and no ynnari in their right mind would bother looking into it.

So this one is a fake but eldar being eldar it's likely time for some plot induced stupidity that results in a craftworld and 2 Phoenix lords dying or something to make the necrons look cool.

Yet.
You know this shit is just set up for it to be revealed that Flayer Virus and Destroyer Virus are the creations of Nurgle designed specifically to target necrons.
It wouldn't even be the first time they've retconned an origin of a disease in canon. It happened with the Obliterator virus too, originally it was just a collaboration project between Mortarion and Perturabo, but then later on it was revealed in the Horus Heresy books that the obliterator virus originated from a daemon who possessed an iron warrior legionare during the Siege of Terra.
This is shit.

This is slop. It's just more chaos wank and pointless flanderization of the setting where everything is due "because chaos happened lol"
Black Library was a mistake and it's not at all good or even interesting.
>>
>>98521567
Trazyn's acquisition of the sword is not elaborated on, we only know he has it and thinks it's cool. Orikan has some idea that it's a Cronesword, since he at least knows its mythic origin as the severed finger of a god, but he might not understand its actual significance in modern eldar culture.
>>
>>98521634
Would eldari fags finally buy an eldar book if they did?
>>
>>98521612
No, I'm basing it on the fact that a lot of products are below the GW MSRP on Amazon.
>Krieg infantry are $45 from Bezos, they're $53 from Mr. Workshop
>Krieg command squad is $41 from Bezos, $48 from Mr. Workshop
>Huron Blackheart and the MotM are $82 from Bezos, $94 from Mr. Workshop
That's 3 cherry-picked examples, but you can find others.
Yes some are third party vendors via Amazon, I don't care where I'm buying from as long as I actually get what I pay for, preferably a bit below GW's MSRP because it is very high for what you get.

>we need Black Library to adapt the War in Heaven
Absolutely no. Fuck off.
Do not ruin 40k further, explaining and/or exploring the War in Heaven is a fucking mistake.
It WILL be shit and will irreversibly ruin the fucking setting.
You think primaris or Horus Heresy were bad? Fucking with the War in Heaven is just going to turn the entire franchise into actual low effort slop. They will start shoving fucking space marines even in that book series and make it so that War in Heaven always happened because of the Imperium existing and they'll retcon it so that the War in Heaven was started by the Emperor as a war against Chaos where the Emperor is one of the Old Ones. And the said War never truely ended.
>>
>>98521633
Yeah you just have to kill all of Slaanesh's daemons, not even consider all worldly pleasures when offered them and then not perceive the literal fucking chaos God in an empty room in front of you.

Then I guess you have to 1v1 said God in a duel to get the sword from them, kill them, and then use the sword to...wait a minute....

Also it's not hope anon, the eldar are still exactly as they were with slaanesh - still dying, still outnumbered, still no wincon. Just less fucked after they die.

Also the sword prophecy also involves every single eldar dying and offering their soul to ynnead so...

I mean they retconned the entire war in heaven for the necrons already.

Original pitch was that after the old ones bit it and the Ctan got rebelled against the necrons fucked off because they couldn't win. Now it's - the necrons were bored and decided to nap because they knew the Eldar would fucking obliterate themselves, they could have won any time but it was easier to just let their enemy lose to time while they rested and a whole bunch of other dogshit because the writer hates eldar.

>>

The raw polystyrene price for a single sprue (1-2 oz) is around 20 to 30 cents, but most of the price is loaded into the injection process, cost to cover defective injections, shipping and handling, and for reinvestment into future ventures (aka refreshes and new products). If you somehow took the markup profits out of the price, then you could expect a kit that's currently around $80 to be $50-55.
MtG on the other hand has fucking nutty margins for how retardedly cheap it is to print out. IIRC the cost of a single booster box containing 30 packs cost around $108 when I stopped playing but only cost WotC about $30-40 to make.

But we all know it won't stop at that, they'll just turn War in Heaven into yet another retarded soap opera that somehow will involve space marines, the emperor and primarchs fighting chaos.

Just because something was once retconned already, does not mean or make it so the next retcon is going to be better.
It's like saying "well there's already 1 fist sized hole in the dry wall, might as well tear the whole god damn wall down."

>It's very dystopian, the only ones remembered or even matter in the Imperium are the leaders in their extravagant armor with gold embellishments, far away and ignorant to the actual everyday life of the Imperium.

You'd have more of a point and this would be way more effective if the average 40k fan wasn't a retarded secondary/tertiary who completely misses out on this and instead goes "pr...primarchs!!! superheroes! I love my superheroes in my 40k!!! where more PRIMARCHS???!?!?!" even some primaries fucking act like this. Look at Valrak. Look at the reports of adepticon 2025's gw panel having a lot of fans who showed up muttering to each other about how they were "disappointed" by the lack of a HECKIN' PRIMARCH!!!! reveal. Pigs. All of them. GW has failed to communicate this and instead capitalizes on the Saturday Morning Cartoon element of primarchs returning, reinforcing this widespread retardation.

They already basically did that, and you're right it fucking sucks ass. I don't like it.

Again, like I said, retconning something AGAIN, that was already PREVIOUSLY already retconned, IS NOT going to fix shit or make it any better. It'll just be worse.

Like my hypothetical example of GW unnecessarily shoving space marines and the emperor into the damn War in Heaven.
We DO NOT need to make War in Heaven worse by explaining more about it. The less spotlight it gets the better.

So no, fuck off with the "lets just turn the war in heaven into a BL book series" shit. The retcons this shit will create would just ruin the entire seeting.

3rd edition Necrons codex states Necrons won and fucked off to sleep so galaxy can repopulate and then be harvested again, Reapers style

5th Necron codex onwards states that Necrons were too weak to defeat Eldar after overthrowing C'tan. They lost and all they could do is to wait for an opening, hoping Eldar power will wane some day

Eldar codexes do not bother with War in Heaven, only with their fall. It's like that meme, "I don't think about you at all" heh

It has been ten thousand years since the HH when they had all that cool shit. Ten. Thousand. Years. They probably lost and/or used up most of the cool shit over the course of TEN. THOUSAND. YEARS. like every other chapter and then keep the rest of the cool shit as rare relics, see the jetbike Sammael has, the fact the DA have a fuckload of plasma weapons, maces of absolution, ravenwing land speeders with weird archeotech shit on them, etc. A lot of the remaining cool shit is probably logistics related and thus has no bearing on models that are sold

No, the Heresy was 100% a chaos victory in the end.
Only thing they really cared about was taking the Emperor and making him ineffectual. Which they handily achieved.

And again we already know based on all the writers and editors. Chaos is going to win in the end, in fact it has already won. Everyone from Laurie Goulding to Rick Priestley has said this about 40k. Chaos won, there was no contest ever.

The Emperor was the only thing within any realities that could've killed the chaos gods. But now he is a dying paraplegic and on the golden toilet that is failing, meaning he will inevitably die at some point. And will take all of humanity with him when he does die.
>>

NTA but a lot of the very early heresy stuff was shit FW already had made for imperial armor.
>>
>>98521836
No, and also that doesn't change what I said, the gods wanted mankind to be devoured by chaos and that didn't happen, they wanted the rise of a 5th chaos god, and that didn't happen, any "it was all actually part of the keikaku" is cope for getting driven back, and their victory delayed indefinitely.
>>
>>98521864
>Exploring HH resulted in a very cool minis and a wargame
You do realize GW could've just done these fucking minis and wargame without exploring the Heresy or even making the book series?
These are not mutually exclusive things.
In fact, the whole book series is entirely irrelevant to the horus heresy tabletop game, same goes for 40k.

Compared to some other kits, not particularly, and honestly I'd rather they didn't since I doubt they would do the MA Big Mek build option again which would leave us without any kustom force field characters. Stormboyz I think should be a bigger priority because even though the sculpts are mostly fine, they are a sore point in GW's "one box build" ethos in that they don't actually have a leader of any kind included. At any time someone at GW corporate will realize this and mandate that stormboyz don't get to have a leader in the rules anymore, so it'd be nice to get ahead of that before it happens.

Not much to recommend. Cypher's criteria is basically "make any marine DOOL WEEL", Abaddon/Kravek are even simpler with "terminator on a big base", Huron + wardens is so hyper-specific a squad that you're better off slotting your own lord/sorceror/MOE with the back half, and Bile drifting between warbands is his bread-and butter.
That being said epic heroes are ultra gay and you should refrain from them as much as possible especially when bearing the word. The gods are your salvation, not FOTM datasheets.

cash price of entry + the -10VP for unpainted army is so good at gatekeeping. You can see how new people in the hobby hate the -10VP thing because it filters new people, when thats kind of the point. Playing with attractive models that people actually put love and care into is better than souless corpo slop. But for the TCG heads who also love magic and yugioh and shit and want to colonize wargames the idea that you have to think and personalize is total anathema to them.

Kyganil is a nothingburger of a character by tabletop standards. He's part of a specific storyline as a supporting character for stern and so he belongs where he is.

An actual named quins character with accompanied book or game would go a lot farther. Kyganil alone would just be a worse Solitaire, he's your bog standard Harlequin. Plus a monster T9 daemon prince/monster equivelent. Really they are pretty well rounded outside of the Heavy/Super Heavy/Epic Hero aspect. I suppose they could have a cheaper quins equivalent, but it feels unnecessary when they are supposed to be hyper elite.

I noticed that Novitiates have Infiltrate, and I noticed they can take a Simulacrum. The Simulacrum test to see if you get a faith point happens during the Command phase, which means you already need to have been on the objective when your turn began to test, since movement is after command phase. So I felt clever when I came up with the plan to Infiltrate the novitiates onto a center objective so I can get one whole faith point more than I used to get (half the time), since a unit with a Simulacrum would be on a center objective at the start of my first command phase, which would be impossible without infiltrate.

But then I remembered I'm playing a shitty army and that 80 boyz with 3 warbosses are going to charge me on turn 1/2 and I came back to reality.

It entirely depends on how GW would construct the thing. Obviously they'd try to make it as hollow as possible to 1. save weight 2. minimize plastic used.
But they also can't make the pieces too thin or hollow because then they'd risk having the components buckle under weight of the model.

Based on some size comparison pics, a plastic warhound would probably take 1.5 stompas worth of plastic to make at minimum.

You're supposed to also have 2 groups of Repentia/Arco-Flagellants and Penitent Engines to distract the enemy while you put your Novitiate onto the objectives to get a few extra miracle dice before your "real" army can meander forward to then use those miracle dice.
GW overvalues miracle dice to an absurd degree and seemingly believes the r*ddit meme that they're a guaranteed 6.

The whole SoB gimmick is very underwhelming (and the power fantasy barely extant in most matchups) right now. I pray (ha) that they get some updates and more unit variety soon, I'm tired of every Sisters army I see having Morvenn Vahl as its centerpiece. Vindicators would be cool, a "Holy Lance" main-gun long-range tank destroyer would be cool, a ranged weapon with more than s10 would be nice.

>But then I remembered I'm playing a shitty army and that 80 boyz with 3 warbosses are going to charge me on turn 1/2 and I came back to reality.
That's why you need to put smaller sacrificial units into fray and have your main gunline behind them. This is especially important if you go first as your guys will be in the centre and scoring your points so your opponent ends up in a situation where if they play cagey, you end up scoring and if they bumrush you and kill your stuff, they're gonna get shot to death. I don't know what units the sisters have for lotta shooting but my 20 Neophytes + Benefictus & Metamorphs do that just fine.

What you're suggesting is literally how GW already sells titans. The body itself costs like few a hundred and then you need to get the weapons and sometimes even the head separately.
Also I guarantee you they will not lower the price of the warhound either, so you will be buying that body at 400 still because John Shareholder Shekelstein said "fuck you".
>>
>>98522706
Honestly they only really need 2 new models to sell an Eldar Knights army. The wraithknight already has two builds, plus the Skathach wraithknight which would just need a plastic upgrade kit. Then you make a walker and a bright stallion, and give them two datasheets each.

swooping hawk knight would be cool though

I happen to have just got into Agents in themselves since I realized I have some of the stuff for it laying around that I've used as allies for guard/sob. I own all of this except the Canis Rex so far.
It's interesting that Ordo Hereticus models ignore cover by default, which includes the bolter immolators, and then any shooting from immolators removes cover not just the flamer weapon like I thought, which means with bolters you have 36" of removing cover, that itself also ignores cover due to the detachment. And after you shoot with them, they remove cover for the Canis and other Voidsman units.
I woudn't say this is "good" since it's still Agents we're talking about, but this is a synergy and it is a plan, and it does have lots of scoring units, so we'll see how it runs.
Though I do need to figure out the last 400 or so points to make it 2000 first.

>>98522670
>>98522722
This is what I'm running currently.
The idea is to have the Hospitaler+Junith brick be the wall sitting in front of the middle objective to defend the scoring units while the triple tanks cover that area of the board.
The problem I could forsee is that the Junith brick is on foot, and so they'd need to move and run just to get up next to the center, and the cool thing people are doing these days with orks and deldar is charging turn 1.
I really like Insidiants and Sacresants and have them painted up nice so hopefully they can do a similar role as the melee speedbumps.

You can make your Sacresancts a bit speedier with Immolators, which also pulls double duty as horde clear with unique twin flamers/twin multi-meltas.
Immolators have a unique rule that lets you split a squad of 10 units into equal halves to fit into them for Sisters, Dominions and Novitiate squads. You can fit 6 people into an Immolator, so 5 Sacresancts and 1 Hospitaller fits. Or if you bring 2 Immolators you could split a squad of Insidiants into both Immolators and bring 2 Hospitallers (one for each half).
I don't really have any fixes for Sisters to cover ground quickly beyond transport spam. I don't think throwing Seraphim/Zephyrim into the grinder to capture the center point is a good trade, so I don't consider them. The roster is lacking, as I've said before.
Fwiw, I've sidelined my Sisters for the forseeable future, they just don't play nearly as well as they should in current game and everyone I regularly play with insists on the most recent versions (because they don't own any older books like I do). Hopefully the 11th SoB codex lives longer than the 9th guard codex did.

You CAN run anything, but you've got the worst of both worlds without bringing any of the "gimmick" units for Sisters.
Sisters infantry are literally just guardsmen on larger bases with slightly better (lasguns are s3ap0, boltguns are s4ap0) weapons.
Sisters have a severe lack of good damage-dealing and damage-taking options, so you're looking at either filling the table with bodies to eat up damage, bringing Castigators, and hopefully either using those bodies/tanks to chip away at your enemy's units or bringing a character like Morvenn to do the damage while the wall of bodies eat the enemy's.
Note that if you're fighting someone playing flamer spam you have very few options beyond "die" or "maybe get enough miracle dice to turn the game around."

Can someone clear up something for me regarding CSM raptor rules?
I've been building up a nightlords collection for fun, but I look at wahapedia and the equipment loadout options don't make sense.
I'm using some old squads I built up a long time ago as 2 plasmas per 5, which doesnt seem allowed anymore.
I see "(cannot take the same weapon twice)" also in the 10 man; this doesnt seem actually possible to have 4 specials in the 10 man because you'd have to repeat at least once.
Is this poorly written or am I just retarded?
>>
>>98523276
It's written poorly, that which you cannot take the same of applies for each 5 man. You can get Plasma Gun & Melta, and then if you have 10 models you can get Plasma & Melta for them again. Resulting in 2 Plasmas & 2 Meltas in a unit of 10. You can compare it with how it's written here for Neophytes, which is significantly better. I also just tested it out on Newrecruit, you can have 4 special weapons with two of each.
https://wahapedia.ru/wh40k11ed/factions/genestealer-cults/Neophyte-Hybrids
I find it funny that they don't have a uniform way of writing the rules for the same thing, it's as if separate teams with zero contact to each other are writing the same thing in their own way. Which I believe is to be the case.

Combi-bolter and combi-weapon on the cupolas, havoc launcher somewhere on the hull.

Yes, but the combi-weapon shares the bolter part with it, so you can't make both straight from the box. 30k Rhino would be much better, coming with all manner of combi-bolter and combi-weapon options, and a havoc launcher. It has the problem that they all mount on the cupolas. Choices, choices...
