How many people here play with Legends units? I know this board favours casual over competitive play so I would assume it's more than the zero that competitive players use. Just curious cuz I've been looking through Legends units to see how they fit into the 11th meta.
>>
>>98537255
I've been trying to play my spartan for months and I can never do it. Legends is where units go to die.
>>
>>98537255
some people at my lgs refuse to play against others with legends units even in casual games. its actually pathetic

marines already have enough datasheets before resorting to legends, and the old models all look like shit compared to current gen stuff. so there's no reason to enable legends on the list-builder app.

There are lots of reasons. They're both finecast resin models and GW stopped selling DEldar resin more than 5 years ago. It created a situation throughout 9th and 10th that the only effective way to play DEldar was to go hunt down Mandrakes, Court, and Beast Packs on the secondary market or proxy them. I think there was orders from on high to not include any units in the codex that they don't currently sell models for and so all the resin stuff got the final axe at once (except the Tantalus that randomly got removed 8 months earlier for some reason with the Eldar codex). If they had plastic models ready to go to replace the resin units, they probably would have stayed. But they didn't. So the range is now another 4 units smaller, as has been the trend for many years. Urien, Grotesques, and Beastpack hurt the most because those have been around since the launch of the faction in 3rd. I'm sure some of them will come back eventually.
>>
>>98537255
I do not make any distinction. I still work on Legend units and so does my brother. We will use custom ones too if need be
>>
>>98537255
I used too but GW in their infinite wisdom decided EC don’t get access to the Heresy Legends document after we got our codex so I no longer play EC or use legends.

It'll be interesting for sure. While I do mourn the loss of lootas and my favorite buggy, the scrapjet, I'm excited for what we've seen from the leaks as far as datasheets and codexes. The detachments look very fun considering they're all 1dp, so I've been thinking of fun combos which I wasn't able to do all of 10th.
Generic melee infantry
>Green tide, brute bosses, bully Boyz
Mekboyz showin' off their new toyz
>Shoota Boyz, madcap meks, dread mob
Supa fast buggies n' wagons/trukks
>Wreckaz, blitz brigade, kult of speed
Speed freeks with aerial support
>Kult of speed, flyboyz, madcap meks
Tellyportin' 'ardboyz
>Wurrband, green tide, brute bosses
There's shitloads of combos to think of here, giving me so many more reasons to go out and play the game with different lists. I'm not thinking about what we've lost, I'm having fun considering all the options we've gained. If every army gets detachments in this style then we're looking at an extremely fun edition full of variety.

>>
>>98537255
If someone asked me, I would 100% of the time say yes. But it's been pretty rare that someone asks, most people just play normally. I'd say people use legends in....10% of my games.

I don't really use them either. I'm sure if I did want to, most people would say sure. The average person doesn't really care, and GW makes most Legends units kind of mediocre anyway so it's not like you use Legends for advantage, and most people know that. That said, there are a few that are good, but generally.

The idea that you hear around here often that most people are tourneyfags is just not true. Vastly more than half of the people I've met are not, and I've been to several lgs over the years including some big ones. Hell, even when I've gone to actual tourneys which theoretically should be all tourneyfags, most people are fine. I can count the number of actually bad experiences on one hand, and it's far outweighed by friendly people. And even then, the bad experiences were mostly purely attitude like socially, not the game itself. Yes, I've played against skew lists, and I've played against the guy who cheats an extra inch every movement by measuring from front to back rather than front to front, but these people are such a small minority.

Anyway I'm off topic. Yes buy Legends stuff and paint them up, in my long years of experience most random people don't care, and your friends certainly won't. A tournament will actually officially say whether they allow Legends or not, the number that allow them is not zero, especially if you ask the TO.

Not on the Warboss, no, and on him the Klaw is a solid option depending on what you want out of the boss, his charge bonus helping push that into comfortable big monster and vehicle threat territory. On Boss Nobs I'd say the shoe is on the other foot, there is not much reason for a Klaw against a Big Choppa, though if you're uncertain you could run one of each since max size mobs get two Nobs now.

>>
>>98537447
I'd say they've done a solid job on making big choppas and power klaws pretty even choices. If you want to go against infantry, the Choppa does that job better than the klaw. If youre against vehicles, the klaw does that job better than the Choppa.

My furniture shopping list will help the Swedish economy more as James takes a cut of darktide’s money.

By the way how likely will the abominable intelligences of chatgpt or Gemini give good instructions to help me accurately replicate the filter on this 40k moebian 6th image in any image editing software? I dig it and might use it for diorama images.

People already buy the codex for their own army, you can't FOMO someone into doing what they already were doing.
Logistical complaints I can understand, quarterly earnings I can understand, but then release the rules with a code you can just buy online to unlock in the app, like some sort of company operating in the 21st century, and sell the physicals to people like me who want to add it to their collection.
>>
I fucking hate having to track whether this primary or that secondary activates on my first turn, second turn, third turn, at the start of my turn, their turn, the other games' turn, his turn on the xbox, when I get a chill, when I go to the toilet or when I know I am about to lose the game.

Honestly they should just get rid of codex releases. Codexes are just beta drafts for army rules that get patched in a month with balance slates, turning the big expensive book you just bought into a paperweight. The only use for modern codexes is lore, and even that has been increasingly stagnant and boring. Or just streamlined and cut out to make more room for datasheets. 'member when codexes used to have sections describing every gun an army had? Now you get "Wych Close Combat Weapons" and "Astartes Close Combat Weapons" and that's fucking it. Thanks GW!

I used to know some guys who worked for GW, they are given the opportunity to leak it to build hype. GW wants it stuff leaked.
>>
It is true that they don't need to do everything at once. They could do a bevy of detachments for every faction, then they could a character for every faction, then they could do one psyker for every faction as they roll out the new psyker system (or anti-psyker if that's more lore appropriate for certain factions), then everyone gets a new tank/monster, etc etc. Then the actual codex releases are a bunch of art and lore pages with like just a handful of new units and rules and characters instead of everything at once.

There is no reason to hold everyone back and one person every few months gets everything at once. It's bad for everyone, because then some people get the shit kicked out of them for potentially years if they're last, while the people who were first eventually get powercrept again. It's literally bad for everyone. It's the worst possible way to do it.
>>
>>98537526
>independent entity
Wasn’t it more of a department? I’m not really keen on business stuff like subsidiaries.
Still forgeworld probably was doing things even after gw ordered them not to because the forgeworld guys thought their decision was best and that may be why a lot of forgeworld stuff isn’t getting plastic rereleases.
The Horus heresy being an exception because marines make massive money for gw and firstborn marine and rogue trader nostalgia for money too.

The dkok may have been the exception due to popularity. Maybe testing “how much secondary popularity translates to actual sales” from that kill team test run.

Clearly it passed as plastic Krieg army got released, but I wonder how big the office fight was over it because I think a lot of forgeworld stuff getting shafted to be forgotten is from spite. Macharius tanks could have come back but instead we got the dorn tank being a good example. Krieg centaur replaced by current centaur etc.
Best example I can think of is how a lot of fallout lore shits on new Vegas for being good and by proxy shits on the old fallout stuff. But this is for games workshop against forgeworld stuff.

Because most fans of 40k are horny nerds the way fans of most scifi/fantasy titles have been since the dawn of time. The real question is why haven't they leaned more into romantic smut type novels if they want women to feel more welcome in the hobby?
>>
>>98537600
It's always been like that. Before GW took online marketing seriously they would keep codex and model range refreshes secret until the last minute so it wouldn't affect people's purchasing if they knew that in 2 or 3 months they're be getting a new book and models.

Admittedly fanart where the punchline is always related to sex has gotten annoying for me from how common it is.

I think warhammer 40k is heading down that path if it isn’t there already.
>incoming media literacy reddit shit
Flash gitz’ black Templar animations may have been partially poking fun at how warhammer 40k fans insert themselves into every unrelated fictional ip too.
I looked at the Star Wars solo mimban scenes and checked the comments and found 40k mentioning comics. It’s pretty nuts.
>>
>>98537596
NTA but all I know for sure is that Forgeworld was the last bastion producing quality 40k content, which leads me to believe it was the hobbyist clubhouse tucked away deep in GW's boiler room where all the people who actually loved making wargames went to hide from the business suits trying to make their lives a living hell.

And would you prefer a newcomer who is honest about it than a fakegrog?

Meanwhile on the classic side I talked my gf into speed reading through Malus Darkblade because I told her there was an orgy scene and a love triangle in book 2. Unfortunate Abnett was either made to or arbitrarily decided to reign in the horny after that book series, because there's just nothing else I can think of he wrote on the 40k side that has similar sex appeal to get her to read.

Can you drop the saucy moist details please of those parts please?

I vaguely recall that warhammer crime/horror novels dealt with more mature aspects of 40k/aos.
One anon (so it might be a lie) said that a novel addressed the meme of imperium being intolerable regime but homos are respected by saying the people don’t but reaffirming the imperium governors don’t care so by extent the old “all are cannon fodder” Reddit guard meme got canonized if what anon said is true. So it might be a lie I’m repeating.

This is only true in the last decade or so, secondary. They were in a portacabin at the back of Lenton, sharing with Warhammer Historical, for years.

It was basically another "company" within GW Group plc, like how Citadel Miniatures, Marauder Miniatures and a couple others we won't go into operated.

Most women don't want to paint armies or play overcomplicated games- they want to read/watch fantasy porn & then discuss it. They might do the OCCASIONAL single model painting, but that's pretty much it.

I think it's not that as much as the fact that people draw what they like. A lot of artists like sex. It's really that simple, that's why the vast majority of fanart for every single franchise and media property in the world is sexualized, or at least a bit cheesecakey.

Well, by the same token I would argue this kind of sex simping art is niche as well.

WHFB and AoS have always been a lot more sex-positive than 40k for some reason. Like the AoS battletomes will straight up talk about Morathi having an orgy with shadow daemons the moment she arrived in Ulgu (which Malerion found and immediately went 'oh goddamn it mom that's disgusting!') Or the fact that Nurgle, literally, not figuratively, wants to capture and ravish Alarielle into being his slave-wife. Or the Daughters of Khaine having breeding caves underneath their arenas, and a certain degree of reproduction is mandated by Morathi herself to keep the cult's numbers high. It's not even subtext, it's just flat out there for anyone to read.

IMO They are better for two reasons. One is that they have a game function apart from scoring (affects LOS, hiding etc), so it feels less arbitrary. The other is that as of yet they are mostly terrain-inspired or blank, and not obnoxious influencer or team colour shit.

It's not terribly detailed- the most descriptive it gets basically is 'there's an entire hall of naked people fucking/murdering in every imaginable combination.'
The real fun is the love triangle- Malus's brother is a fleet captain who is in a relationship with his sister who, despite her only seeing him like once a year and having a simp army, is utterly in love with and only ever fucks him. So Malus & his sister teleport to their brother's ship for the plot, & when they get to his cabin to explain shit to him they walk in on him fucking his first mate. The rest of the book is a cat fight between the sister & the first mate who both want to kill each other, the brother trying to keep them from killing each other but also trying to keep himself from getting killed, and Malus egging them all on/helping them plot against each other because he hates all of them and wanted to kill them all to begin with. Shit's pretty great.

Like I said though- can't really think of a 40k book where a romantic relationship mattered that much. Closest is maybe the Bequin books but that's obviously a father/daughter thing as a result of Eisenhorn's love for Beckra, so not really the same thing.

My Orks had the same problem during 4th edition. I relied entirely on Powerklaws and Super Stikkbombs in melee to take out enemy tanks. If my opponent even fielded 1 Leman Russ or Basilisk I was boned if I didn't have some sort of terrain advantage.
>>
>>98537644
I think they are better at a conceptual and aesthetic level than cancer circles, and the terrain rules themselves are fine, but terrain layouts using them are ass to set up and the overall rules for setting up a game result in a pretty unpleasant experience.

i just dont see why they couldnt have used a basic within 2 inches of the terrain rule or something instead of having the cutout.

flat cutouts just look bad, especially with how insanely clogged the new table layouts are. my buddy and i set up our first game of 11th using one of the GW table layouts and the table was so cluttered we couldnt even get our vehicles through most of the table because there was just too much shit physically in the way. i dont think someone with something like a baneblade would even be able to deploy it, we were struggling to get land raiders from one side of the table to the other.

and then when you have little paper cutouts for 20+ pieces of terrain, it just gets obnoxious when a simple within x inches of the terrain measurement rule would have sufficed

idk, it bothers my autism
>>
>>98537797
I've done it a few different ways. One campaign, I wrote an actual narrative to accompany the battles as they were fought (it took a lot of my creative juices, didn't get any painting done during that) and it basically consisted of a bunch of players playing custom scenarios I came up and counting wins. Took around 6 weeks, with 2 games every 2 weeks (as schedules fit for players). This was cool, but it took more effort than I am willing to spend.
Another one I did was less involved, I didn't write as much for it, and used the pirate campaign rules GW made in the crucible heroes book, where I told the players to create a crucible hero and have that as their warlord, and then we played a bunch of games and tracked titles. Lots of fun, and the rivalries that built up naturally between the crucible characters were cool.
Right now I'm organizing a campaign using the deck that came with Armageddon, it looks pretty neat and I'm putting this narrative on Armageddon itself so I don't have to reflavor the locations or relics, but the structure seems sound for doing it with pretty much anything.

The only thing I can't correct you on is the existence of -1 to wound for whatever knight you're shooting at. Because I don't play knights.
Point is, Orks can have high win rates because most people are capable of reading rules correctly, something you clearly cannot do. Regardless, why the fuck are you expecting Ork shooting to be the best? Use breaka Boyz or a Warboss if you're so butthurt about your Orks not being able to shoot something to death in 1 round.

Generally they *weren't* that bad when it came to hobby-relevant content, but they started to have a tendency to editorialize that thankfully mostly stayed out of aforementioned hobby-relevant content, up until they put the writing on the wall that they weren't afraid to really get up on a soapbox circa "There have always been female Custodes" and identify themselves as unable to separate their worldview from what makes 40k an entertaining setting.

But frankly what is worse is the fact that since they're rebranding they've decided to arbitrarily paywall the aforementioned hobby content via Patreon, basically reducing their value as an independent info source to almost nil.

I don't know how you managed this. Vehicles can drive through everything but the dense/green terrain pieces on the official layouts, all of which should be placed half an inch or so inside each terrain area. Did you go overboard with light/scatter pieces? A few narrow places is good design, but even they tend to disappear on a man-sized 6x4 board.

The inevitable result of catering to the tourneyshitter/CODkiddie mentality. People need to get it into their skulls that unless you're the kind of 450lb cheese-reeking scumbag who'd happily seal club someone who's never played before just to feel an instant of joy at the suffering of another and who's willing to rebuy an army or two every year to metachase, you're basically a nonperson as far as GW is concerned.
>>

Mike Brooks keeps putting little romance bits into his Eldar books like an enemies to lovers plot in Big Dakka, toxic yuri and an orgy in Queen of Knives, and gay for hidden love in Voidscarred. But everything is always gade to black or off screen or only heavy implications because GW probably has some specific mandate against an sexually explicit acts being described in their books. There's definitely a lot more raunchy stuff in the older novels though so this must be a more recent phenomenon.

You absolutely should try painting, just don't drown yourself in hard-to-paint miniatures when you start.

Grab a Kill Team of your choice, clippers, glue and a few paints. You can figure out what paints to get by googling, watching a video or even checking out the Citadel Color app*.

There are "start painting/collecting" kits which includes all of that shit in one box, but they're currently locked to Vanilla Marines, Orks and Tyranids**.

*Don't buy all of the paints from Citadel Color app, it's extreme overkill designed to sell you 20 paints for one model. Just the main base colors, a highlight color and maybe a wash. Or speed paints if you're a speed demon.

**Tyranids are last edition but you should still be available most places.

Grab a box of Legionnaires, or a Combat Patrol at most as your initial purchase. CSM is a pretty dope faction. Decide on a color scheme and buy your paints accordingly. >>
>>98538275

It is not difficult with practice, but it is absolutely time consuming.

I decided to build upon my armies from the Armageddon set. Idk how it works in 40k, are there any staples that I absolutely need less I get assraped on the tabletop?
I have the BA combat patrol. I was thinking a tank of some kind, a dreadnought, a LandRaider and some termiantors. For the orks idk, but those new motorcycles look cool.
Bonus question, I am also eyeing the Old World starter set, but what I read from the rules its really similar to 40k. Yeah I watched battle reports and I get it, less shooting, formations, less tarrain, more melee, but can anyone who has played both tell me how does it feel in play? Slower, faster, more spreadsheet checking, less, more/less stalematey( I feel two blocks smashing each other would feel like this)?

Warham will keep you occupied in the meantime with toy soldiers, instead of... idk wasting 3000 on your car, 500 on electrical components, idk how much on wood carving instruments, thousand on sport equipment, or if you really suck, on overpriced alcohol in bars.
But yeah the prices are ridiculous.

To the anon who suggested AK reddish grey for my confederate guardsmen, thank you very much
The color is perfect, and the need to multicoat lets it carry the ramshackle look of real butternut (via being thinner in places and thicker in others) effortlessly. It's perfect for this use.
I'll hopefully have a squad and the Major-General painted up soon for a pic, I haven't decided on a vehicle scheme yet camo pattern or British-style "gray-brown with a bi-color friend/foe marking" or I'd toss in a Chimera too.

>A capacity of 6 means you can have 2 heavy weapons or 6 regular weapons, all weapons must be the same on a single weapon spot
>All weapons on a singular weapon spot are automatically twin-linked (one hit roll for all the shots)
>Exceptions like dual weapon spots, like turrets (so you can have the lasplas on the razorback, or coaxial autocannons on baneblades)

The good stores had small margins because they were doing it for the love of the game so they got driven out by endless price hikes and exploding rents
>>
>>98538987
Yeah, it's an unfortunately common trend. I know the guy who runs the last wargame store in my town and he hemmed and hawed for like half a year about raising his prices or just starting to charge for using game tables and his terrain. Ultimately he just went with the charging for tables, but he also started an annual membership so you can just get a permanent 5% discount and free table use on any non-tournament day.
>>
>>98538948
If you play there, buy some things from them so they can keep the lights on.
Otherwise, yea buy where it's cheapest. Most online stores I'm aware of have free shipping for orders over like $50, and guess what 1 of nearly all GW models costs, even with the 15-20% discount?
Buying paint online is the only place where I'd err on buying it local because you have the final steps of quality control (via the store inspecting their inventory and you seeing it in-hand) before paying for it. Even then I usually order paints as well because no one near me carries anything but Citadel or craft paints.
>>98538972
Shitty LGSes are more common than you think.
My LGS is heavy into TCGs and RPGs, they "have" a Warhammer section but they have literally 7 boxes combined for all of GW's games on the shelves and have no intention of restocking it according to the store owner when I asked him.
Of those 7, 2 are the of same Kroot unit, 1 is the Penitent Crusader Host box (that is at a $240 pricetag), 2 are WHF Cathay heroes, and the final 2 are AoS Sigmarines, so it wouldn't even be worth picking over.

Ultramarines were the posterboy of multiple of the past few 40k video games, so they're the obvious intro for newfriends to get them into the setting.

>Gladius
>>
>>98539229
Unironically neanderthal mentality of rape in caveman prehistory. It's hardwired into women to want to be overpowered.
>>
>>98539235
But why do they always paint them as Ultramarines when there's a ridiculous amount of chapters?
>>
>>98539244
Ultramarines are the easiest paint scheme for new painters to consistently make look good. Blue has super easy and consistent coverage and gold trim is relatively easy to paint on the large features that their scheme requires it on.
>>
>>98539244
They need an intro to "the setting" and Ultramarines are the easiest because that's "the main character" in the popular video game that this kid/teen has most likely played if they're considering getting into 40k at all.
People outside of the hobby know that there's different colors of space marines, they don't know what the colors mean.
They see Ultramarines as "the blue ones" and want to paint their models like the ones they see in their video game. Once they're in, then these people learn more and grow from there.
And the paint scheme is pretty doable for a beginner.

>the point
Power granularity and having an outlet to properly represent more powerful psykers, as almost all editions of both 40k and WFB/AOS have. This new version has only just been unveiled and the Orks codex doesn't go crazy with it, but I expect PL up to 3 or 4 with many different power options so you gotta choose between multiple weak or a few strong powers, flexible too. Tons and tons of design space, you know TS are gonna go crazy with it and I expect Eldar/GK/Nids to get some fun stuff as well. Only issue is the fact that offensive powers are siloed apart but I wouldn't be surprised if we got something like "Psyker level X, this model is equipped with this weapon (offensive power) until end of turn".
>remove pretty much all consequences
For one, if you fail a check you can't cast for the rest of the turn at least. It presents a potential downside to attached psykers too, which will be most of them, since losing OC and strats for an important unit is gonna be disastrous. If abilities like the Warp'ead getting to reroll tests are commonplace it won't me much of an issue since rolling snake eyes is so unlikely.

Why does GW still do the codex model? Surely they'd make more is they dropped new data sheets for every faction each month. Or are there so many people who buy a new army on each codex that GW makes more from codecies?

No, they wouldn't, people don't like digital purchases or rules rollout via magazines.

>>
>>98539961
You can still keep codecies as quarterly lore books, with a bunch of lore and pictures and all that jazz. They could even use the codex release to time the release of new models. When I say "codex model" I mean the release model where once an edition they drop a whole bunch of stuff for one faction and update the rules all at once rather than releasing rules for each faction each month. They can still jew with the codex subscriptions on the app with that method.

No, it wasn't. Because you can deal with Warp entities without sorcery, it's called "being a psyker." It's about method, not results. Rune Priests simply don't refrain from their rituals, so whether those rituals are needed is unknown. And until a non-psyker tries to use those methods and succeeds OR fails, there is no evidence to suggest they're sorcerers.

>>
>>98540043
yeah. Don't worry about it. If you say "this is a repex" your opponent will know what that entails and will say "ok". The exact details of the model don't matter. Just note all wargear options clearly on your list that you show your opponent (the digital list builders like gw's app or new recruit are very useful for this). people generally model whatever they like the look of the most, and then when they play they'll try new things all the time. stuff can even be missing like in your example and it doesn't change the rules of the game.

The only time I would worry about this is if you start a very long list of a bunch of proxies, that may just be troublesome while playing for practical reasons like clarity. but if it's just wargear options then don't worry.
>>
>>98540012
>Because you can deal with Warp entities without sorcery, it's called "being a psyker."
No, when you deal with warp entities it's sorcery, "being a psyker" is when you just deal with simpler warpstuff, without making deals and pleas to entities.

>And until a non-psyker tries to use those methods and succeeds OR fails, there is no evidence to suggest they're sorcerers.
either the space wolves are correct about their own beliefs, and they are not psykers, meaning they are sorcerers by your definition, or they're incorrect about not being psykers, and they're still sorcerers by the same definition that makes magnus and all thousand sons psykers sorcerers.

Either way they're sorcerers.
And even if we were to find an excerpt about any other space wolf using rune magic despite not being a rune priest, you would most probably discard it as the guy merely discovering that he was a psyker all along, which goes once again back to what I argued in the first place: that it's still people with psychic potential that become sorcerers in the first place, not any random faggot.

GW basically killed wysiwyg in 10th edition. You cannot have free wargear and enforce wysiwyg.

It's somewhat sad how it also has killed in many ways model diversity. Like there's zero reason to not glue hunter killers missiles to your Rhino. Or not to have sponson weapons with a Predator.

Veridyan was 20€ while the Preacher was 15.75€. A new plastic canoness is 34.50€ and new ministorium priest is 29.50€. My question is would you accept that characters models would go back to metal/finecast instead of plastic if they cost 50-60% of what characters cost now?
>>
>>98540072
Anon, if your army list says a unit has a guy with a plasma gun, and none of the models actually has one, then they don't have a plasma gun, flat out, too bad, cry more. >>
>>98540109
You are simply incorrect according to the rules of the game. You allocate wounds as you wish anyway, so what you say about killing a certain guy isn't true anyway. The plasma guy will be the last model the opponent removes from the unit either way.

If you want, you could try to make the argument that making your guys wysiwg is a point of pride for an enthusiastic hobbyist. It's a nice feeling to have everything wysiwg, because you have put in the extra time to make it that way. If you want to make that argument, I think you would be right, actually. I agree. My stuff is like 90% wysiwg and I am proud of that.

But nothing at all about what you said about the rules of the game is true. Wysiwyg has not been a rule for like a decade.
>>
>>98540117

It's not even extra time but also money. Like I have pointed out if you want to wysiwyg battle sisters having all their multi meltas you need to buy 6 extra boxes of retributor squads which is 390 dollars for your army to be wysiwyg. And it's because GW does not include enough multi meltas in those boxes. Many other armies have the same thing with boxes not including enough heavy weapons.

Many people are not interested in spending 500+ dollars extra on their armies just to get enough heavy weapons for it to be wysiwyg.

5. A mounted unit. Either juggs or bikers

>>
>>98540140
So again, I will repeat that that is not how the game works. You write down your army list and hand it your opponent before the game starts. If you simply say "every flamer is a plasma" a normal person will say "sure dude" because it's not a problem at all. Any special weapon standing in for any other special weapon is normal, normal people don't have any trouble following this, and normal people don't use this method to cheat, accidentally or on purpose. The plasma is going to be the last model to have a wound allocated to it regardless of whether the actual physical model is holding a plasma gun or a flamer that is currently firing plasma. Neither rules nor how the average normal person plays the game actually support your fears.

The vast majority of cheating in 40k is by taking things you're not actually allowed to take in the first place and your opponent doesn't know better, or by using cooked dice. You cannot actually cheat by removing the plasma guy last because that's literally how the wound allocation rules of the game work anon.
>>
>>98540157
Anon, psykers can be sorcerers, but so can non-psykers. That page means nothing.

Then why were finecast and metal models cheaper in 2023 compared to plastic ones? It's not just sculpts. Old plastic sculpt characters were more expensive than a newer sculpt finecast character.

Sure with infantry and like plastic is cheaper but for stuff like named characters finecast is cheaper, which is why GW used finecast and metal with those back in the day before they committed to producing everything in plastic.

NTA, but that gives the guy a small advantage with positioning. I'd want him to have a special weapon or other distinct model to mark the plasma guy. I don't care if he says "all the special weapons at plasma", but since it can matter, it needs to be on a singular defined model

This. Or someone who built models in old editions with loadouts that aren't a thing anymore. For example in 10th edition index you could run a Grey Knight Venerable Dreadnought with a lascannon and missile launcher. But when the codex launched the missile launcher option was removed and you have to run with a fist.

So a guy can no longer run their old venerable dreadnought due to this change if you enforce wysiwyg. Or I don't know guys who don't want to spend hundreds of extra dollars on boxes just to get enough wargear due to GW being so stingy with heavy weapons.

The whole wysiwyg just seems to be a way to get you to buy extra boxes to get enough heavy weapons. Like I wouldn't have that big of a problem with wysiwyg if GW gave you enough heavy and special weapons. Or allowed you to buy lots of extra heavy weapons for your squad separately like you can with Horus Heresy.

But no they force you to buy useless boxes just to get the right wargear. If GW wants to enforce wysiwyg they need to either:

1 bring back points cost for ALL wargear like 9th or before
2 that you can run all possible loadouts with the box, without having to buy any extra boxes, so for example Battle Sister Squad can no longer use the multi melta since that box does not come with one
3 For each army sell heavy/special weapon upgrade sprues like with Horus Heresy

Talking like that is not going to help get rid of him, he's already got it in his head that this is the only place for him (despite not actually fitting in here). I'm sure there's some forum out there with the same level of cringe humour and faction "repping" in their culture where he'd fit in, it's up to him to go out and look.

Why does the existance of the Iron hands make imperial fist players seethe so hard?

Ive noticed this on more than one occasion that the yellow basedboys seethe about the 10th legion.
