What causes bottom layer separations on just one part of the build plate? The STLs have printed successfully on this machine before with the resin currently in the vat, and the settings are the same ones that I've been using for 2 years. I've changed the FEP twice, leveled each time, and verified that the build plate is flat. Reposting from last thread because the usual helpful experts lost interest once I confused them by posting my settings and realized that Google AI's answer to this wasn't accurate. Maybe we'll get some fresh eyes this time. I've been printing with resin for a number of years now and I'm completely stumped by this.

check the FEP film if you're hearing a "sticking" sound that's most likely the issue that can be fixed by adding the silicon based WD-40 PTFE lubricant on to the film use a microfiber cloth on it to avoid scratching the film, or it could be the UV light panel if there are any markings such as fingerprints or gunk where the FEP plate sits, what kind of 3D printer are you using? I only have exp with Anycube Photon mono 4k

Usually this seems like an overworn FEP since most people tend to print in the middle and thats why only the middle is fucking up. But since you already changed the FEP then it cant be. I got no clue, but have you checked the UV light underneath? Maybe they've gone weak?

Sorry for rushed and shitty pics. Prints are scaled down to 28mm to match others I own, and I knew some of the fine details would be lost. They (mostly) look fine, except on some of these the backs are strangely glossy.

I've purchased before (other sellers) and this is the first time I've wound up with this kind of mess. Annoyance of not controlling your own prints. At least if you screw up it might be a learning experience. This is just buyer beware shit.

I'm not hearing the "sticking" sound but I've heard it in the past and the prints were fine. Printer is a Saturn 2. Until recently, I basically existed solely in the Elegoo ecosystem (Mars 2, Saturn 2, Saturn 3 going over 6 years or so) and consider myself fairly proficient with those products. The screen is clean as far as I can tell. Any time that the vat is removed, the screen gets cleaned with IPA and blown dry before the vat goes back on.

Did some back and forth with the seller, who said it had to have cured or it wouldn't have printed (yep). But they agreed to reprint the lot, gratis, and tighten their QC, so I I don't want to shame if they're actually making this shit right.

Since I get to keep the first batch I'm just trying to salvage as much as I can. If the stickiness is gone and I can safely prime them, then fine. The small scale works in my favor since it will help hide imperfections, or that's my hope anyway.

How do I ensure that the ball joint sponsons point perfectly forward instead of repositioned? Only sponsons I know that go well with the plastic kit they are built for.

As for the Dorn tank conversion kit for the Malc tank. How easy or hard would it be to repurpose those parts for a Macharius Tank STL remake like the one by Solutionlesn to have that be the Dorn tank proxy?

When Im printing terrain pieces with a flat base, I want to print it flat, it really wasteful to angle and print 30 million supports. Plus I need to raise it high or have to grind the entire base anyway.

no reason not to use it if you've got it, unless you want to take advantage of the current storage prices. Just make sure that when it gets old you don't ignore the warning signs and make backups if the data is important to you. Defragging an SSD will not do anything useful because SSDs don't store data the same way as HDDs, and multi-pass deletes will drastically shorten the lifepsan of the SSD. If you want the data on an SSD to be unrecoverable, use encryption.

I currently have my STL collection on a single SSD and I am now thinking that I should maybe take my own advice and make some backups...

When I had my sonic 8k I just had to put a small heater in with it and it helped some, but the heated vat is OP, besides sometimes on the very first use of the day it will fail but every other time it always always works

Yeah, but I fucked up, it's actually $300usd. Website said the pricing was listed in cad but then when I got to checkout it's in USD, which is about $414 cad. Hesitated at that point. Still a good price I suppose but at that price I have other options.
