I'm currently on Take&Hold Ceramite Sentinels ultrasmurfs, Take&Hold Guardian Battlehost eldar, and Priority Assets Hallowed Martyrs SoB because I love and adore the gameplay narrative of holding down the fort. I love that I can make a list that is "hold down the fort" and that's my actual narrative and mechanical objective and these concepts are married in 11th. They did some good things this edition and I don't mind saying that.Sure, things are imbalanced. Sure, orks are currently running rampant on the meta. Sure, the codecies that get updates first are going to booty blast everyone for a while. And sure, we can say we want real wargear options back. Nothing is perfect. But I'm in love with the narrative objectives and personalized objective system enough that I can say I am enjoying 11th.

Okay so during listbuilding I add a unit of Hearthkyn Warriors.I add a Brôkhyr Iron-master (and his associated entourage) and attach them to the Warriors.I add a Sagitaur as a dedicated transport.In the Declare Battle Formations step I choose to split this Warriors unit into two units of as equal size as possible. 15 total models means I need to create one unit of 8 and one unit of 7.Unit of 8 models: Brôkhyr Iron-master, Ironkin Assistant, 3 E-COGs, the 2 Hearthkyn Warriors that got heavy weapons, and the Theyn.Unit of 7 models: The remaining 7 Hearthkyn Warriors.The group of 8 models can start embarked in the Sagitaur with room for one more infantry model, an Arkanyst Evaluator for example, as the E-COGs don't take up any space. Finished High Kahl's Oath. Haven't read much Gav Thorpe that I know of, so I will give him a shred of rope in spite of everyone's disdain.3/10. So probably average by 40K novels. I'm laying some of the worse sections at the hands of the editor and contract for the novel such as the name drop of the entire range but that ending was extremely flaccid and the novel has some horrendously stupid stuff in it that I'm gonna have to crack open my Codex and reread tomorrow after work to see if it was a previous detail I blanked out for being retarded. Has a tease for a sequel/setup for a campaign book (I would hope the latter given the scope/ramifications) and like one good character. Myrtle feels like a bit of a mary sue, but I guess it's needed to be considered a High Kahl elect since that's basically Captain material. I still hate Grimnyrs and Brokhyr Iron-Masters, but at least I know that Ironkin probably fuckHopefully the next range expansion isn't Hernkyn, but instead the "stay at home in the Hold" type of Kyn that gets glossed over like once.
