Outside of the known new army we are going to get (Kislev), what other brand new armies would you like to see in TOW (ex: Hobgoblin Khanate)
>>
The orcs & goblins battle march box is apparently online only, unlike all the others.
>>
>>98586724
Stop doing these weird AI recolours, they look like shit
>TQ
Khuresh seem like an interesting army if anyone ever bothered to develop them
>>
>>98586741
Yeah, that seems to be the case which is weird since it's probably a better box than the original O&G battalion box
>>
>>98586744
Really? I thought this was the best one by far and looks pretty good. I will take your feedback into mind. Just trying to keep it fresh.
>>
>>98586753
In terms of what units are included it's definitely better, but with the BM box prices I'm not so sure anymore. And if you don't get a store discount for this one, I'd skip it for sure. I was actually planning on getting one because it happens to slot into my current project pretty well, but looks like a pass now.
>>
>>98586764
Compared to the other ones, it seems to suffer less from detail loss than the previous one, I think it mostly the skin on Sigmar that basically comes across as rendered differently from the orc skin
>>
>>98586790
Yeah I get what you mean, I understand your apprehension at AI. I dislike it myself mostly, I just wanted to shake things up. I need to look for more sources of Fantasy art, I don't want things to get stale.
>>
>>98586683
Why not? It's a good model.
>>
How are the momminiatures stls for orcs and dwarfs? I like the way they look but I’m curious about ease of printing them.

>>98586724
I need magnetization advice anons.
What sizes? What strength grades. Should it be centered under the base? All of it. Please.
>>
>>98586833
5x2mm N52 centered. Only one needed for infantry and cavalry, 2 magnets for metal minis.
For big dragons a couple of 10x2 or 8x2mm N52.

Those will allow you to have minis stuck to steel upside down with zero chance of moving even if you shake them.

Gluing the 5x2 ones with cyanoacrylate is usually fine but crowning the biggest ones with hot glue is usually the best option.

I recommend magnetized or steel rubber sheets as movement trays, they're very cheap and very convenient.
>>
>>98586744
This just seems like a variant on lizardmen

Which I'm fine with, but like lets not pretend its much more than that

I will genuinely never understand the tww brainworm behind counting them even remotely as an army when ALL independent greenskins, be it normal orcs, normal goblins, savage orcs, savage goblins, goth orcs and goth goblins, are bundled into one army.
>>
>>98586983
>n52
That sounds pretty strong.
Like I don’t want minis attracted to each other. Just the bases and the movement trays.
I especially don’t want minis repelling.
Can I see a timestamp with your magnetized bases so I know you’re being honest? And maybe magnet box with n52 labeling?
I can check back tonight if you aren’t able to post right now.
I just have a sudden gut feeling that something isn’t right and want confirmation if that makes sense.

>magnetization advice
5x2mm anything was way too strong in my tests. I figured I'm looking for something that will hold the model in place when tilted on its movement tray, held upside down, or just going over small bumps in my car - but won't snap when I (or a friend using my army) try to remove it from its tray as a casualty. After doing a load of tests on various infantry models, I settled on 5x1 N42. 5x2 N35 was too strong and felt like I could snap models if I removed them roughly, 5x1 N35 didn't provide a secure enough hold in my tilt and bump tests. 5x1 N42 held them in place reasonably well and didn't feel like I was having to overcome excessive force to pull them off the tray, which is extra important to me as I use mostly resin prints.

As for how/where to stick them, I made my own square base set in blender but there are loads of STLs available. I tend to do in the centre of 20mm and 25mm, and then my cav / 40mm and larger bases have a symmetrical arrangement of holes for both 1mm and 2mm magnets so I can combine them up to the power that's needed to hold the model in place.

As for what to stick them to, I use mild steel 10mm discs. Cheaper than the magnets, and safer too. Then I magnetise the underside of the tray and use a plastic tub with rubber steel sheeting in it to transport the trays.

For infantry slottabases, 5mm magnets don't fit anywhere, so I use 3x2mm N42 anywhere on the base, and a movement tray with rubber steel sheeting so it doesn't matter where the magnet is.

To ensure the polarity of all my magnets is uniform across all my bases and trays, I made and printed a large cylinder with a + on one end and a - on the other, with a magnet in each end of the cylinder. I use it to seat the magnets into the bases perfectly every time. Massively helpful.

>anons find out that space marines are loosely based on knightly orders
>>
>>98587301
Semantics, the sad truth is that estalia cannot be made without somehow lessening the scope of other surrounding things, otherwise this is the best you could give it.
>conquistadors and morion helmets as an exclusive aesthetic flair, reclaimed from tilea.
>focus on a heavy handed estalian inquisition with an emphasis on a more oppressive church of the gods of law, reduced by comparison in the empire.
>big focus on knights, but specialised: where the empire ones are small circles of well equipped knights, and the bretonnian ones are numerous but more individualistic and blue blooded, the estalian ones are numerous, simpler but with strong communal identities.
funny things would be giving them stuff that wouldn't fly in the empire, for example having sanctified monsters under the church (vampire conquistador, werewolves as hounds for inquisitors, demonhosts, that kind of madness that would be more at home in the imperium than the empire)
>>
>>98586833
>magnetization advice
Sure, I'll throw what I do on here too.
Buy a shitload of 1/4" washers and glue them to the bottom of the base. Then I use 3x2 to bring them like, the tiniest bit higher than flush so they're easier to pull off the metal by the base. I use 3 or 4 per 25mm, 30mm, and cav, 8 for anything else.

Snakemen in the fan-lore are presented as a sort of Chaos Lizardman. They desecrate Old One technology and incorporate it into their own nefarious designs. They occupy a very neat aesthetic between South East Asia and Hinduism. I'm not going to try and "sell" you on why they should be in the game, but I have no issue with them and openly admire the effort that has been put into the Naga.

The Vimanaga is named after the Vimana, something from Hinduism.

But I'd concede to the point if you press it, this is not a hill I'm even interested in fighting on, since I do agree that the Naga Queens have an impeccable aesthetic, especially since the creators of the fan project are, mostly, Southeast Asian.

Chaos Dwarfs, hopefully looking better than the mmo style shit AoS got
also the whole concept of regiments of renown need to come back
not necessarily as part of a new Tilea/Dogs of War army but rather each army in the game should have one or two RoR, with a unit upgrade set and a specially sculpted command group
I remember that Forge World tried to do that for the Empire when they did whfb books

Played 3 Battle March games at 750 with the dwarf player I am doing a mini narrative campaign between us. We had done the first 3 missions in the Battle March book and played the last 3 today. The first battle involved the Orcs having taken over a Dwarven smiths forge, and the dwarf force pushing the orcs back, had to avenge it.

Bardok the Black Orc Big boss made his narrative debut with 10 black orcs. The orcs attempted to hold ground but once again the Dwarfs charged, causing terrible damage to the ranks.

The Dwarf Thane forced Grimtoof and his boyz back, running into Snagrog's big uns. Once more, the arch rivals met in the ferocious melee and once more, with a terrible swing of his runic hammer, tore into Snagrog, his Meteoric Iron failing to save him!

To make matters worse, Bardok was butchered by the Giantslayer, as well as the Slayers themselves annihilating the Black Orcs, forcing them to flee!

The dwarfs had reclaimed their forge.
>>
>>98587638
I only played the first 2 books of the 4e version, but I thought it was quite good.
I wouldn't say it "lived up to the hype" though, because the hype made it seem like it was the best ttrpg campaign of all time, and I know several that are better. But it was still really good so...

The second battle, and fifth BM scenario, saw the Dwarfs attacking the Orcs emergency supply of squigs and grots.

Snagrog grunted. This Stunty was determined and had beat him a good few times, but now, he would get even! What had started as a mild raid on a humie village, had turned into an ongoing set of clashes against the bloodthirsty stunty boss and his gits. The Black Orc, Bardok, had gotten himself zogged, as did his boyz after talking a big game. Shame, Snagrog had hoped to fight him.

Now, however, a trio of trolls had joined, being lured by the carnage of battle and rotting carcasses left in its wake.

The Dwarfs had already started butchering and burning the emergency supplies Snagrog had set for his tribe, so the battle ensued. Grimtoof, disgruntled as ever, lead his boyz up the flank while the wolves and boars went up the other.

Snagrog spotted the boss stunty among his Longbearded bodyguard. He placed a hand on his Meteoric Iron. Although he had gotten krumped, the armour remained untouched. He had his goblin forgers expand the suit slightly more, beyond just the immense breast plate.

Shouting a mighty WAAAGH, the greenskins advanced.

The fighting had begun.

After calling a mighty WAAAGH, Snagrog and his boyz had charged straight into the Longbeards. The trolls had trampled alongside them. The stunty boss was here.

Forcing himself to the front, they met. Before the Thane had a chance to raise his weapon, Snagrog struck. With one mighty swing, fueled by the eminating WAAAGH energy, his axe plunged through the Thane's breastplate, splitting armour and viscera both from the puny stunty!

Letting out a great roar, Snagrog declared himself victorious, but it was not to be. Seizing their leaders body, the Longbeards pulled back and the Trolls got stuck! The big uns carreened into the Slayers.

Unfortunateky the Slayers were in no mood and tore the big uns apart, breaking them. Soon the whole army was in flight, except Grimtoof who had destroyed the Thunderers.

A final clash of Grimtoof and his boyz against the Longbeards, saw the Dwarfs once more take the field.

Now, the final encounter would take place. Despite orders from his King and having driven the orcs far from their gates, the Thane relentlessly pursued Snagrog and his orcs, hoping to drive the Greenskins totally from their borders.

But now, the Thane would soon learn, he had driven his force too deep.

The third and final battle of the campaign (Sixth scenario from the book), saw the Dwarfs before the makeshift camp of Snagrog Deadeye. Supplies destroyed abd his main camp eradicated, the Greenskin had shown a relentless determination, seemingly never giving up regardless of the disasters which befell him.

So it was, the Dwarfs, driven by their half mad Thane, met the Skull Smashaz. Now both forces fought with a mad determination, one to annihilate their foes and the others to survive.

Snagrog had told the bosses of what few tribes he gathered of da plan. They also knew what would happen if they didn't follow it.

Snagrog glared to either side. The boyz and arrers knew what to do. The Dwarfs marched forward, with the wolves and boars darting up ahead on the right flank.

Grimtoof marched forward to meet the slayers. So it was, the Thunderers were overwhelmed by the boars and renmants of the wolves who rallied.

Grimtoof charged the slayers but were repelled. They were charged again and wiped out but now da plan came into action.

Calling a WAAAGH, Snagrog charged but unfortunately, missed the charge. The Thane counter charged and so did the two generals face one another.

Battle raged all around Snagrog. He had lost a lot of boyz since the Stunties had started their hunt of him but there was plenty more eager to fight, after krumpin their bosses.

Now the climatic battle had brought both dwarfs and orcs to the border of the Badlands. Snagrog let out a mighty WAAAAGH and the Thane struck with its Rune hammer. A devastating rain of blows slammed into Snagrog (3 wounds!) with a deafening clang. But this time, the blows had hit the unbreakabke Meteoric Iron, only a minor wound getting through. Snagrog struck back with an overhead swing, his Choppa ripping the air as it struck the Dwarf in the chest. The Thane, now bloodied, was barely saved by his gromril armour.

"Not so tough now are ya stunty?!" Snagrog growled.

The battle raged on. The longbeards gave ground and now the melee was at its climax. Now Snagrog and the Thane struck at the same time. Calling on his ancestors, the Thane swung with all his might with a blow which could have slew even the hardiest of beasts (another 3 wounds). Snagrog bellowed as he felt the impact, but the Meteoric Iron once more took the impact (saved 2/3) and it was the final blow whucb ended it. His choppa came down, splitting open the Thane's breastplate and leaving a terrible, bloody wound across its chest.

The Longbeards grabbed their Thane and tried to reform but now they were atracked from all sides. The boars and wolves hit the rear, the big uns the front. They fell back in good order but they were relentlessly pursued. A great bearded Dwarf stepped forward to meet Snagrog, bellowing a challenge.

Snagrog laughed as he split the Dwarf in two from head to toe, a bloody shower covering his fellow warriors nearby. The Longbeards broke at last, their stubborn nature not enough to hold in the face of such greusome displays.

They were run down and at last, Snagrog had taken the field.

Finally after losing the first 5 scenarios, the Orcs held at the last push.

When TOW launched, Gdubs didnt know what they were doing and were extremely slow to (re)launch armies + they didn't want to launch any armies that would interfere with AoS, especially the 4th edition launch that summer (Skaven).

They're still doing that to a degree, but showing better signs of caring about the game. But who knows, maybe they'll go half a year without saying anything again. Dark Elves, Ogres, and VC are probably way on the backburner because of their equivalents in AoS, especially ogres.

I like the new ToW ones because it fits with the Norscan theme. The old ones feel more Kurgan.

Don't get the Age of Smegma ones; they have the Darkoath marauders, which have the fat female libtroon variety with the side-cut hair and the "pygmy" sort.
>>
>>98588143
theres definitely a stylistic difference but probably close enough that you can make it work with a cohesive color scheme. its a little hard to tell from online pictures how much of the difference in armor quality is the model itself vs the fact that one is painted in true metal metallics and the other is painted in flat black paint with no metallics.

the old old ones though are much smaller and have cartoony proportions compared to either of them

yeah, I'm not really a MtG player but I know a few things about this setting and I've read an article according to which long time players don't like the recent sanitization of art and lore in the game
it surprised me because I thought (wrongly it seems) that MtG players were largely typical woke/pro-diversity types
https://mtgrocks.com/sultai-tarkir-dragonstorm/
some of these older artwork for the snake guys are absolutely metal and would be a great inspiration for whfb ; I particularly like the undead used as furniture pieces, i can totally imagine warhammer necromancers doing that
also Innistrad got to be my favorite plane (even though as I've said, I don't really know much about MtG) so I hope it didn't get sanitized too

Not the same anon you replied to, but to me, I always was under the assumption that MtG players aren't "typical woke/pro-diversity types," as you would say; it's just that they are the biggest slop consumers imaginable, where you can literally shit on their plate, and they would gladly scoop the remnants with their fingers.

Innistrad is full of awesome ideas for AoS Death armies and whfb VC; I always liked the distinction between necromancer types : ghoulcallers and stitchers. In my mind stitchers have far more potential for warhammer horror than classic necromancers
something like the Skaab would be a great addition for an undead army with a lot of opportunities for kitbashing and several possible variants

I think their thinking was just to put almost all their modern HE plastics in one box. I imagine the HE battalion sold like shit because almost no one wanted the ancient militia so they swung hard the other way for this one.

Like I said I have heard many people shit on this box online/youtube. But I think it's arguably the best BM box for starting a new collection.
>>
>>98588143
Having just recently put the AoS warriors on square bases, I can say it is possible but it’s absolute ass to get them to fit well enough together
>>
>>98588860
It’s just a shrinkflated box compared to the battleforce, it should be rightfully shat on. I would praise these boxes but for some reason they decide to cunt the contents in fucking half. Like how am I supposed to be happy about spending nearly an identical amount of money for a battalion box with awkward unit numbers. One chariot (granted it’s one chariot too many, and the most use you can get out of it are the lions for a charice army), 5 fucking shadow archers or whatever the fuck, 20 lothern spearmen/archers are fine I guess. 5 min squad cav are also just weird. Oh and the kite. It’s awkward. Same deal with wood elves but it’s worse.

Pic rel is sick, most are pretty new sculpts, and are all cool and decent for a starting point for an army as well as adding to it. It’s even got upgrade sprues for it. The battlemarch boxes feel like a kick in the balls where they are purposefully trying to deny you any real value from its single purchase, never mind multiple of them.
>>
>>98588908
You have Cathay and WoC with all new sculpts. Soon you will have TK's too. TOW will get more and more new sculpts but you have to be patient. When HH releases one marine kit, it's a kit that covers 90% of armies in the game. TOW armies don't have that overlap so the refreshes will be slower naturally.

>>98589206
Agree. I know this is contentious but I think Empire needed a range update more than Chaos did. The Empire infantry could look pretty cool if GW granted all of them the puffy-sleeved uniform styles that are currently confined to Greatswords and character models. Even the art that gets published right now of individual empire soldiers does that. Kruber from the vermintide game is supposed to be a totally typical infantryman, and he's wearing something a lot cooler and more ornate than the pajama uniform. I'd love an infantry box of empire soldiers in his clothes, wouldn't you?

>>98589432

Alright, fair enough. I'll concede that point, Kruber is a cut above your average infantryman. But I still think the average infantryman should look more like Kruber does. There's no reason they shouldn't have holy icons and trophies, bits of armour to protect their extremities, ornaments and bags and belts and so forth. I find it natural to do soldier models in that exact style, where it's not too flashy but has some more pop to it than featureless cloth.

Vallejo brush on primer (not recommended but I live in an apartment), army painter crusader skin contrast paint, and then army painter quartz skin for the highlights. After reading the new March of Chaos book, I have mixed feelings regarding the fluff. On one hand, it is nice that Chaos Dwarfs have been removed as the makers of Chaos armour, but now the process feels oddly standardised.

Before, Chaos Armour was a living gift from the Chaos gods. You could get up from bed and suddenly be in chaos armour or your own kit could slowly morph into it. But now, you go to one of the big towers, get stripped and get armour put on you.

That, and the Chaos wastes. It used to be a setting within a setting almost with how weird it is. Now, all the key points of the Chaos wastes seems to be marked and identified on a map. I preferred when Chaos had a bit of mystery and ambiguity, but now I feel GW filling in the gaps in details has taken away some of their uniqueness and depth.

Anyone else feel the same?

>>98590758

I don't think it matters what any given book says, the fanbase will count all potential origins of chaos armour as concurrently canonical
>self-made and blessed
>grown as a mutation
>made by chaos dwarfs
>made in the forge of souls
>made by a chaos god

similarly, the locations on the map of the chaos wastes matter little because getting to any of those locations is a hellish odyssey of shifting landscapes and warped spacetime

basically stop treating books as limiting and start treating them as you would a bits box

Obviously there's a good argument for an Empire model refresh, but it seems some want a kind of redesign of the infantry.
Do people think it would be better to go full gaudy puffy Landsknecht rather than subdued Reislaufer?

I think the current style is a sort of compromise with mid-15th century landsknecht equipment, but with earlier late-14th century clothing like Swiss reislaufer are commonly depicted. I think they did this because they thought some customers would perceive puff-and-slash as too silly, but instead they leaned too hard towards the "pajamas" look.

>>
>>98590848
Nta, but I feel like the issue is not with the specific bits of fluff they've been adding, but rather with how they're leaving less and less blank areas in it. The more a setting is coloured in, the less space it has left for wonder and mystery.
It all makes the setting feel smaller, more restrictive whilst not really making it any more interesting.
Look at the realm of chaos books, nearly 600 pages to describe just what chaos, its lands and it's inhabitants are, and as long as it it's, it leaves even more up to the imagination, for you to explore on the tabletop or fantasise about. Hell, even the leaked draft from the third book had a system to play campaigns in the actual chaos wastes, with random terrain and scenario generation (with god specific terrain and some truly surreal descriptions) to represent the shifting and twisting nature of the land.
Mapping the world limits it's scope. While yes, I agree with the bits box analogy, GWs contemporary writing is very much similar to their newer kits: pretty, but made to primarily work in the way they intended. It's barely evocative and doesn't really invite to explore and build within it.
>>
>>98591035
I don't mind the more ragged look for the basic state troops. It's the execution that sucks, the models have far bodies, weird posing like they're doing a phalanx with tiny noodly spears and halberds, and they are cluttered with too many poorly sculpted trinkets like ribbons, prayer scrolls, daggers, hourglasses, etc. They're painful to paint and look bad in large units.
>>

GW came to a similar conclusion, that the old world didn't have much space to explore, and that's how the end times and AoS happened.

The beastmen wanted it to further their dark deeds, the Orcs wanted it ”Cuz dat fing is green an’ green iz best!”

It was a simple 600p Battle March with a notable landmark in the center, we also got chilling winds on the weather table.
It was quick and brutal with me losing most of my Bestigors to a fanatic before they got chomped down by mangler squigs, meanwhile my Gors got itchy nuisance and were reduced to 1 in both toughness and initiative, and were beater down over the subsequent turns.
My ungors also felt the mangler squig and were run down by it after a brief combat.

>>

I would have easily beaten it if the fanatic wasn’t lucky to kill half of my Bestigors, it had one would left after fighting the remaining ones. I was unlucky to not kill it with my ungors too later on.

I don't much care for that at all. Sublimating the choice to forsake life and serve the gods of Chaos is silly, it takes away agency. Every servant of Chaos chose that life, one way or another. Absolving them of their responsibility for the sins they commit in service to their masters is boring. They're evil. That's why they're cool! Let them be evil!

I don't think that's what they are doing at all. Just stating that deep enough into the life they lose themselves in the sense of the person they were and what they wanted for themselves. Kind of like how a drug addict deep in the throes of addiction doesn't really have free will in the same sense as a non addict (with some being able to will themselves out of addiction kind of like how certain chaos champions retain some of their old self). But they are still responsible because they chose to walk that path with their own free will.

I thought that Chaos Armor came from the Chaos Dwarfs themselves, who trade their crafts for the furs and hides from the Norscans and Kurgans. Chaos Dwarfs also provide a lot of the artillery and constructs that Warriors of Chaos use, like the hellcannons and demon engines.

There have been different origins for chaos armour and none of those should be taken as the only origin of all chaos armours.

I heard a story about dwarves destroying a city because someone might have accidentally noticed them taking a few cents from a large chest of gold. Has that ever made people more likely to ask a dwarf to check their payment before leaving, just to be sure nothing was shorted, even by a tiny amount? Or would that be considered offensive to dwarves, asking them to count the payment to confirm it’s correct?

I was watching a vod of an Andy Law stream and one of the questions was about that fake Arcane Journal leak that had the Fimir/Heroquest Army of Infamy, and his response was pretty interesting. He said that the fake leak compared to the real AJ stuff really speaks to the lack of creativity in TOW in that there's never been an Army of Infamy that has illicited that reaction of "Aw man I'd have never thought of that but now I can see how cool it is."

Empire should be more puff n slash than it is now.

State troops kit should have puff n slash on both arms + some legs, and missile troops arms only.

Greatswords should be heavily armoured, with more armour on the left (i e. side facing enemy/forward) and more puff n slash on right side. All should have a metal skullcap under any floppy hat

>that Sigmarite priest
Clearly Tilean.

>Ya know, I read a lot. Especially about things... about history. I find that shit fascinating. Here's a fact I don't know whether you know or not. Tileans were spawned by pygmies.
>It's a fact. Yeah. You see, uh, Tileans have, uh, black blood pumpin' through their hearts. Hey, no, if eh, if eh, if you don't believe me, uh, you can look it up. Hundreds and hundreds of years ago, uh, you see, uh, the Arabyans conquered Tilea. And the Arabyans are pygmies.
>So you see, way back then, uh, Tileans were like, uh, wops from the Empire. Ah, they all had blonde hair and blue eyes, but, uh, well, then the Arabyans moved in there, and uh, well, they changed the whole country. They did so much fuckin' with Tilean women, huh? That they changed the whole bloodline forever. That's why blonde hair and blue eyes became black hair and dark skin. You know, it's absolutely amazing to me to think that to this day, hundreds of years later, that, uh, that Tileans still carry that pygmy gene. Now this...
>No, I'm, no, I'm quoting... history. It's written. It's a fact, it's written.
>Your ancestors are niggers. Uh-huh.
>Hey. Yeah. And, and your great-great-great-great grandmother fucked a pygmy, ho, ho, yeah, and she had a half-pygmy kid... now, if that's a fact, tell me, am I lying? 'Cause you, you're part eggplant.

>am I wrong or GW changed something with the geography of the north pole of the warhammer world ?
the way the Chaos Wastes and the Shardlands have been described it almost feels like it's a part of the Realm of Chaos as much as the individual domains of the gods and not just a part of the mortal world warped by chaos energies
what I'm trying to say is that it's like GW is making the realm of chaos completely contained in the northern pole of the warhammer world (though still with its own time and laws) rather than a separate place
for example the Forge of Souls is clearly situated on the map now
>>98545565
>when I read the description of the Shardlands and the nu Chaos Wastes, it reminded me strongly of the description of the Formless Wastes in 40k which are an unaligned part of the Warp not controlled by any Chaos god
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Formless_Wastes
this is where the Forge of Souls is canonically located in 40k and in aos as well
>also this bit
>castles crafted from bone and fortresses of ichor
this sounds a lot like that place which we know is still canon in TOW
https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Marcher_Fortress
>Its walls are crafted from blackened stone, veined with pulsing, oozing colours, and mortared with the crushed bones and blood of spent revellers and those that fell in battle against Slaanesh's minions
>overall it really feels like GW is trying to push that the Chaos Wastes at the north pole of the Warhammer World are the same as the Formless Wastes of 40k/AoS, the unaligned part of the Warp as if the an entire piece of the Warp was physically located on the physical warhammer world

I got the new chaos AJ today and while I'm still reading through it, I really don't like how every narrative passage only mentions what the forces of Cathay are doing militarily. The battles described are happening near Marienburg and both the Empire and Cathay are fighting side by side, but the text explicitly only ever mentions Cathay, and specifically Miao Ying, giving orders and taking action. I'm not an empirefag, but I don't like this. Also, I really dislike almost everything said about Chaos in the book. An anon said something about removing the mystique earlier in this thread and he was completely right. We didn't need to know how getting a suit of chaos armour works. We didn't need to know that every chaos warband actually resides in fortresses that they fight over. We didn't need to know that chaos warriors lose their identity and their free will the instant they don a suit of chaos armour. The Realm of Chaos books from 1988 and 1990 told a far better and more interesting story about what Chaos was all about without telling us all these details precisely because the writers wanted the players to fill in the blanks.
>>
>>98593268
Why would a Sigmarite Warrior Priest be spending time in a forge?
>>
>>98593329
I think you're getting mad at your own purposeful misinterpretation of the text more than the abysmal quality of the journals themselves
>>
>>98592502
I get really annoyed that the majority of new Warhammer content always has forced diversity quotas as bad as 90's Captain Planet. That article about the new imperial guard novels and I thought it was funny how all the covers had at least one asian, one black, one woman, and then finally one white guy. Gone are the days of just white guys. The fact that they are making old fantasy armies like that now too is also annoying as shit.
>>
>>98593344
No, I'm mad at the low quality of these arcane journals too. They suck as a format and I would have preferred proper army books. I've been saying this since day 1 of TOW.

>how all the covers had at least one asian, one black, one woman, and then finally one white guy.
I think that's only true of one of the books, which from the synopsis, sounds like the most boring one; the other two has the characters too far away to tell their ethnicity, and the other is mostly Ratlings who are white, as unlike WotC they haven't decided to make Halflings black yet
