I'm anti proxyfag because I want to minimize the number of people with access to these cards to reduce the amount I see them. Sure some retard with too much money or who got in early might show up, but they are by their very nature rarer occurance than retards who copy paste the most expensive EDHRec listing. Especially now that I've had my hands tied behind my back and can't run shit that punishes this lazy deckbuilding.
>>
Why are people so up in arms over the duals? Just say an Uncle gave it as a gift or something, then you can play it off as a boomer getting scammed if someone IS nit picky enough to get assmad over your landbase
>>
>>98610588
then we need to ban those cards. just imagine the screeching if wizards actually did
>>
>>98610591
Because no one NEEDs true duals. There are so many good duals these days that the marginal increase you would get from a true dual isn't make or break.
The are the defacto check point for a retard without self-control.
>>
>>98610588
How do you react when literal children play against you in public with black and white paper proxies? You can't say you complain because literally any LGS would kick you out over that.
>>
>>98610596
I don't think we need to ban them. They aren't that strong. They're just an invasive plant and we decided to kill its natural predators.
>>
>>98610568
And yet you engaged anyways. Curious.
>>
>>98610601
If you're playing legacy you don't need them to function but there's a definite advantage to only losing 1 health a land drop instead of 3
>>
I'll unsleeve my cards so you can greendot check them as soon as you swallow my cock.

>>

>>
>>98610603

You pub stomp them and tell them if they work hard they can have a deck as good as yours one day
>>
>>98610616
This isn't legacy.
>>
How much suffering will i be in for if I build like a Zhulodok with 38 wastes and a dream? What artifacts tap for 2+++ colorless?
>>
>>98610651
If you buy them for legacy why wouldn't you just put them in your commander decks when not using them though? That's the point
>>
>>98610660
>If you buy them
People aren't buying them who post here.
>>
I will never understand the autism surrounding true duels. if they were banned would people start saying
>no one needs city of brass
I can understand if true duals somehow broke the game in half, but they're literally just lands that can be fetched and enter untapped and yet people act like a true dual multiplies the power level of your deck six-fold when all it does is add consistency to your mana base. one less land that enters tapped, that's all they are.
>>
>>98610670
It sounds like you're just walking back your argument. Clearly there are sections of magic players who play commander and need duals.
>>
>>98610658
Worn Powerstone, Basalt Monolith, Thran Dynamo, Hedron Archive and Everflowing Chalice
>>
>>98610673
>add consistency to your mana base
Creates more keepable starting hands. More hands where you're not fucked on lands mean more hands where you get to keep your busted wetdream curve-out.
I don't think we should ban them either I just think they shouldn't go without punishment.
>>
>>98610673
funny how you downplay duals but at the same time if i tell you to make a 5c deck you shudder at the thought of not using them, that they are THAT integral
>>
>>98610678
No where have I changed the position that they are not needed.
You did, and I told you this isn't legacy and that people here crying about needing duals aren't people who are buying them.
Nothing has changed.
You hit doing mental gymnastics.
>>

am I missing something? this seems horribly inefficient, is there a reason people do this? I mean I guess you're paying two mana to look at a new card every single turn ( you could do that for one instead), but you're not actually generating any card advantage and just drawing one card putting the top back on top drawing the top again and doing the process all over again. wouldn't it be more efficient to simply look at the top three and rearrange them every turn instead of going to the whole song and dance of drawing a card putting the top back on top recasting top etc etc?

It's better than Start Your Engines because it triggers for each creature on attack, so swinging it with a field of Skyknight Legionnaires or whatever can proc it early, and because of the mana abolity changes you can slap an Illusionist's Bracers on her and go infinite with Aggravated Assault, or just Najeela if you have enough bodies.

The five color being on an ability that gives mana seems like a copout that would make getting out four other haste/fliers easy enough.

You don't draw cards off of her, so she can't dig for the combo alone, she can't run all five colors to better fetch/protect the combo, and she costs and extra mana.
I do agree getting potentially six mana in a turn or more is a nice upside.

Layer 7 is one of the easier ones:
>whatever sets pow/tou to a * happens first
>whatever sets pow/tou to a distinct number (Maha) happens next and overwrites the previous
>whatever buffs/adjusts pow/tou (anthems, etc) happens next
>whatever flips pow/tou (Inside Out) happens next
If multiple cards do the same thing, then timestamp rules apply. If a card sets pow=1 and a card is played afterwards that sets pow=2, then you effectively ignore the pow=1 card until pow=2 card leaves play.

I was dumbfounded because I don't own a PS5 nor do I play videogames. Nothing of the sort even came up in conversation before his tantrum. I swear on hot pockets this story is true. Also he spent the whole game on 3 lands, countering my lightning greaves was his only spell, then went off how that's the reason he doesn't like commander, because the players build shit decks, I can't cast these expensive spells, why is hydroblast here none of you is playing red. He showed me his hand at the end and I asked why he didn't cast the Valakut awakening, he replied NO AND BE TAPPED OUT IN YOUR TURN WOULDN'T YOU LIKE THAT then I pointed out it's an instant and he just looked me dead in the eye and left

this has been debunked as well. nothing comes in untapped, has the basic types and doesn't cause loss of life. this is easy to verify for yourself if you learn how to use the internet to research cards like on "THE GATHERER" –Hope this helps

>pic rel, this is the Vintage Masters reprint by Wizards of the Coast (now known is GōtC commonly on this board, the phonetic sounding lending to a silly meme from the linguistic accent over the "o"). These were only reprinted for MODO however you have to order them from a Chinese Reprinting Service (great service what they do).

>batto-sama enters and steals a card
>opponent uses Eaten by Piranhas or Unable to Scream on it
>batto-sama eventually meets his demise
Does the opponent get his card back?
My immediate idea was no since returning the card was part of his ability, but a guy argued that since the exiled card is "under" the bat, it has to go somewhere once he leaves since the returning effect is part of batto-sama's ETB and thus already "resolved"

Rugged Prairie is better than Soul's Foundry in my eyes, and often even better than my Plateau. Being able to turn W into RR or R into WW basically makes me able to cast any spell in my deck regardless of what other lands I have out.

>That new living weapon bitch sounds fun af. When does she release?
As soon as you print her out. Seriously, this is the few times when literally 0 people are going to care if you are play testing them.
According to scryfall nov 1?
>>
>>98612075
Yeah. I think they are good if you have an expensive mana base, which means all the fetches, shocks and duals your deck can run. If you have those, these filters lands slap. Hardly ever are stuck with them tapping for colorless, and that means they are basically dual lands at that point for mana fixing purposes.
>>
>>98612046
yeah they're not too bad. I just bought that shadowmoor FETID heath a week or two ago randomly looking through the land binder at an LGS.

I have Flooded Grove in another deck and the OG Future Sight Graven Cairns in another. pretty good overall. not to be confused with some of the worst lands ever which are the ones to pay 1 uncolored to make two of 2 different colors. those ones are actually much worse than they look.

speaking of future sight lands, they need to make ones for the Grove of the Burn Willows Cycle (pic rel). what gives on not having done that in nearly 20 years?
>>
>>98612054
I played with a dude with a real volcanic island last week. hes like 50 something. no ones paying 600 bucks or 800 bucks whatever it is for a revised dual now and playing. maybe some of the other ones that are a couple hundo beat up but the blue ones Millennials and Gen X bought in the 2000s

People will probably bitch and moan if you put counters on their commander but realistically it's a colossal nothingburger. It's like how the average commander player will say Anzrag's Rampage is bad because it exiles cards from your library, or that mill is overpowered. Honestly? Too well a lot of the times. I'm threatening a dozen reeds by turn 5 even with a bad hand. With a good hand I could have dozens by then. I am hesitant to bring it out against lower power decks. It is also a fucking nightmare to keep track of them all (I have to separate reeds if they are made by certain spells like vile duplication.) A board wipe will ruin my day, but no one at my LGS knows what a board wipe is.

The worst part of the deck is trying to keep track of 40+ reeds.

>>98613559
That's me, homie. I bring it out once in a while to play a bracket 1/2 games, and it wins quite often, even against stronger decks. Exalted is pretty damn strong if nobody has an answer. Exalted demands an answer if you have a few things out, and in those lower brackets hardly anyone plays interaction so you can slip by and runaway with the game.
>>
>>98613559
Here is the deck.

https://archidekt.com/decks/20401408/progenitus_all_exalted_cards

Because I am running all the exalted and lieges, it's a real fine line trying to fit in extra combat steps, interaction, ramp, draw and ways to get through blockers. I think I have a good ratio of all that because it ends up winning more than it should when I play it. Land base of course could use a bunch of improvement, but this is my "throw extra shit I'm not using in it" deck. I think unless you have all the fetches, shocks and duals, you need to include all the trilands, even though they come into play tapped. My land base isn't the best or fastest, but I don't often find myself wanting a mana pip.

Honestly I just went ramp + card draw + counterspells strictly for wipes/edicts. I treated it like a Grim Reaper deck where if Prog hits the battlefield, the countdown begins and the table has 3 turns left before it ends due to the Lieges/exalted/some double strike stuff making him OHKO with commander damage
>you need to include all the trilands, even though they come into play tapped

Not strictly commander related but I'm trying to unload some reserved list cards directly rather than selling to a store. One of the guys at my lgs wants to buy some cards off of me but he's telling me that private sales are usually 70-80% market value since stores only give 50-60% cash value. Is he trying to dick me here? Sounds like horseshit
>>
>>98613673
Yes, he's trying to jew you over.
The whole reason you accept a lower than market price from the store is that you understand they have to try to sell it at that market value. Direct sales are to the end user, not a reseller. They do not need that headspace. Do not settle for less than market value.

>>
>>98613713
It really is. It's better to trade card-for-card, using market value. And if you end up with a few dollars difference, tossing some cash in can settle it.
Or, recently did a trade of about $200 of cards with someone at my LGS. In the end, it ended up with about $5 in his favor because I just couldn't find anything I wanted. I just told him to buy me a Monster from the shop and we'd be good. Or shit, I've seen people buy packs/bundles and use those (still sealed) for trades.

The hash slinging...trash flinging...ringing ...thinging

I think it's funny. Anyone getting upset at it needs to stop and reexamine their life.

What fish card do we equip the spatula to tho to represent that nerd with the evil looking nose?

Gulf Squid, AKA Squid of Sorrows but only after you go through this overly complicated win setup.
>>
>>98613834
Whatever it is it better include alt-art Man Ray.
>>
>>98613848
where's the win
>>
>>98613858
Read what the land does when it gets tapped.
Read what the squid does to all your opponent's lands that you just gave them.

Reading the cards explain the cards.

fog

>when you tap this land FOR MANA
>Gulf Squid just taps it
Yeah uh.. this doesn't work the way you think it does
>>
>>98613870
Have you tried reading the card instead of just guessing what it does randomly?
>>
>>98613872
yeah I'm gonna be honest senpai I fucked up
>>
>>98613870
You're reading the wrong land card, dumdum.
>>98613867
Fog prevents combat damage. Path of Sorrows isn't combat damage.

counterspell
>>
>>98613882
I'm in blue, too. You think I don't have five counterspells in hand?

the hobbit is a weird place where the bears can go up to 10 power so why wouldn't a spatula be better than a sword there

On one hand you are absolutely correct. But on the other hand, true duals are objectively broken in that they're objectively superior to all other lands. Sure, their impact on the game is minor, but it's real. They're just bad design, like Sol Ring, like Command Tower, like Arcane Signet, like Mana Drain, like anything that's strictly superior to the normal power level of good similar cards.

There's a limit to this I feel you're not accounting for. Dismiss is strictly better Contradict but they're both shit cards nobody plays so it wouldn't be particularly objectionable to powercreep them both.
>>
>>98613979
would this be playable at 0 imo it would
>>
>>98613980
What deck would run it? Manaless dredge?
>>
>>98613860
I don't get it either. Yes, Gulf Squid taps all of the 1000 Sorrow's Paths, but this doesn't cause them to deal damage, they're just tapped by the spell, not tapped as a cost for their own ability
>>
>>98613991
or some red decks
>>
>>98613998
sorrow's path does damage when it is tapped for any reason
>>
>>98614002
For what payoff?
>>
>>98614005
Ah, I see. Man, old cards are weird.

>>
>>98614039
People waiting in the prequeue for an hour only for the payment software to crash and then the set was instantly sold out. Huge shitshow.
I was one of them, no I didn't get it, NO I'm not mad do NOT put in the paper that I was mad
>>

So literally every single other SLD ever? It's been how many years and every release is exactly the same?? And people haven't learned yet and are still trying to buy them??? And Wizards hasn't fixed anything yet????
