Who were only there because the local prince was engaged in a war that he had no chance to win.

Needless to say that the Toreadors weren’t happy and immediately broke off their alliance with the Prince. He even ordered Shark’s execution and banished from his court Shark’s creator, who was his childe and also the sheriff.

The sheer reaction from the other players and ST was amazing. Plus I think it’s the highlight of me playing a Monster + Bon Vivant. Really hard to top

We were invited to Elysium, but as always there wasn’t a menu for Shark. Only blood dolls you weren’t allowed to kill or chew their limbs off. So hearing that this Elysium would have special VIPs that we better not bother (fresh people who have yet to be spooked by Shark), Shark decided to bring his own contribution for once! And he even cooked! At the same time discovering a new passion.

Hmm... This on is hard to pin down. I guess from recent memory was when we gave V5 a try; it was also the only time I had any fun in that chronicle. One of the chronicle tenants was my suggestion of "There's a Difference Between Taking a Life and Being a Killer." I had a hunting scene with Bleu, looking for a melancholic resonance to up her Obfuscate, and when I managed to find a vessel (a depressed taxi driver) she did a bit of seduction to get him in close.

The look on everyone's face was priceless. Especially since these were all my friends who I had playing with for many years, and I had even told them that the friend, good-humored personality that Bleu displays is an act she puts on in public - and they were still completely caught off guard. It was a great showcase of the character underneath her mask, and the sort of callous act of killing the chronicle tenants was about. I was more than happy to take the extra stains (the ST did rule that my Body of Set merit mitigated one though).

It's a shame the whole thing fell apart next session (or maybe not, considering how little fun I was having).

Thanks for the garden explanation. While I would argue Caine's Maiden could be interpreted as Zillah, that would align with a belief that their story is defined by Caine, which seems pretty contrary to the centric femininity that I see Bahari aiming for. I choose to believe that all 3 are Lilith, as she fulfilled the role of consort, caretaker, and teacher/torturer. Its a good thing the belief system is open-ended.

I like the version of the story where I can mess with conflating Ennoia, Lilith, Crone and Gaia to mess with woof/mage cosmology. Mothers of monsters, first causes, wild women - similar forces by different names. Mythical figures that other perspectives confuse through their own lens, but I personally enjoy central Noddism and Male/Female Dualism for my personal WoD. Maybe Ennoia is Caine's and Lilith's biological daughter and her children are the garou & changing breeds while her embraces are the Gangrel and its offshoots. Who knows, plenty potential to go crazy here.

Been playing around with an idea for a Mage
>40-oddsome-year old office/business lady
>Wildly successful and rich, has a high rank in the company/corporation she works at

You destroyed the original build-up for the vampire storyline you were constructing and started the werewolf arc Waaaaaay too soon.
It took TTS dozens of episodes of build-up before it got to any of the fast-paced action. The slow burn was it's greatest Strength.
It'd honestly have been better to finish the ghoul arc in the same 3 episode pacing as season 1, introduce pentex in episode 6 to foreshadow, and focus on the Regent before introducing the Wolves.
But that opportunity is gone, you blew your load prematurely on the 5th stroke and your fanbase is left unsatisfied while your franchise wilts.

Being Bakeslave. Losing my friend and my tabletop group falling out was a major shock to my system. Lurking here gave me some closure and taking over baking gave me some feeling of control in my life. It was a bit stressful going from a lurker and occasional poster to a dedicated position. I definitely fucked up quite a few times, Not making a new thread when we were at bump and image limit & having a manic panic at the sharp uptick in traffic is something I still kick myself over. but I learned. Even the Bakeslave character is something I have grown to love and cherish. It gave me a reason to look into other splats and struggling to retain the little bits of himself after losing his identity multiple times was oddly therapeutic. Never in my life did I ever think someone would cosplay as one of my characters or that I would get a picture of my character.

two questions, anons, hoping to get some help here:

The best thing to do is not tell the players that you're using presence at all. Activate your powers and roll the necessary dice, but pretend it's normal social combat and let your players make their social rolls. Whenever a Presence power is used, play it of like they didn't roll anywhere Near high enough. Let them roll in a later scene afterward to figure out they were victims of Presence.
Characters don't normally know they're under Presence, otherwise the discipline becomes worthless.

Vampire Dark Ages game, I was playing an elder Assamite whom, through networking and sheer fucking balls absolute lack of a survival instinct because high as fuck road score had managed to obtain entry into a Lasombran methusaleh's court, to represent his clan as an unbiased source of information and insight in the shadow inquisition's planning of how to depose of the Ashirra influence in Iberia.
The methusaleh was sufficiently impressed (and autistic enough, path of kings) that he allowed my presence on condition that I don't pull any blood shenanigans. Considering how reliant my build was thus far on disciplines, it was a refreshingly direct grounding into a game of wit-vs-wit.
Just sat in the background and pointed flaws in the shadow inquisition's plans enough that the meeting went nowhere, filibustered the inquisition away for another few years without a single death.

3 neonates (tremere, toreador, brujah) been new to the city and agreed to hunt a wright for petty cash and to show that they are useful so that they would be allowed to stay in the city

using newspapers (game set in 1999) they found out that all the murders are in a area around a ikea shop and decide to break in, but they fail to pick the lock so while the other players looked around for a second entrance (and been just about to find one) our toreador decides to just jump through the glass wall causing the alarm to go off which caused the wright and the police to become alarmed to their position

they then had a very confusing fight involving the tremere using lure of flame causing the wright (which has zero humanity mind you) to flee and the two who had celerity to run after it while the third went for the camera footage. A few rounds later the wright was dead but the tremere couldn't delete the footage so he stole the harddrive instead

finally the cops show up i explain that presence isn't dominate and that the tremere didn't put any dots into dominate so the toreador uses presence to just get everyone's attention and have them be confused as the 3 run for their car (the brujah also picking up the tremere to run faster)

in the end they got the cash, but had to spend all of it to get a new car after their burned their old one and they been allowed to stay in the city but owned the guy who send them on this mission a favor to get the cops off their back and been told that this is usually how working for older vampires turns out

one of them later joined my ttrpg group but the other two can't really make time because they have shitty jobs where they don't know which days they will have off in advance or something like that

Isolated and friendless, he found solace in his neighbor Dianna—a single woman over twice his age and the assistant Chief of Police of Miami. Her warm demeanor and fierce passion for justice caused Ayaki to fall in love with her.
One day, Dianna revealed she had reported a massive corruption ring, only to be urged by the chief to quietly retire to avoid assassination. The shock caused her to Awaken, and she resolved to summon spiritual embodiments of Justice to purge the city. Ayaki agreed to help, acting as the secretary for the security firm she funded with her retirement savings that acted as a cover for her magical undertakings.
Seeking a human host for her summoned spirits, Ayaki volunteered himself as her first attempt. Due to his deep love for her, his Resonance harmonized with a passion spirit. Having succeeded, Dianna pushed Ayaki away. She feigned that his resonance was too strong, though she actually wanted to shield him from her worsening moral spiral.
Claimed by the spirit, Ayaki's body morphed to fit Dianna's preferences: he became androgynous and grew breasts (She's into women, he was doomed from the start). He gained regenerative abilities, the power to induce instant swooning or terror with a glance and grew tentacles from his back. Though he could hide these changes, he lost his job because his boss "didn't want no trannies" and lost his apartment. Now compelled by the spirit, Ayaki wanders greater Miami, still longing for Dianna’s acceptance.
I didn't remember bakeslave's original ban and bane, so I made my own. Ayaki's ban requires sleeping with someone once a week, and his bane is a consecrated mirror that reflects the spirit.

I have a player of a mage in Mage: The Awakening 2e. This player has not particularly invested in mundane abilities for their character much, if at all.

After one particular challenge that the PC failed to succeed at using mundane means, the player expressed a preference that challenge difficulties should be calibrated such that mages can succeed on them easily enough using purely mundane means, without having to buff up or otherwise cast spells.

I can see where they are coming from, certainly.

But on the other hand, I specifically, explicitly said that the PCs had time to buff up to tackle the challenge ahead of them. I have talked to the player about it (over a couple of days, by this point), and they really seem to prefer a setup wherein mundane abilities are perfectly sufficient to overcome challenges. But again, if I do that, then it means that a mage (e.g. this person's PC) can just opt to go gloves-off and "lock in" at any given moment to trivialize all challenges.

I do not know how to handle this. What expectation should I set?

For reference, here was the challenge in question. They were in the Hedge. There was an enchanted, warded door that demanded an excellent, really excellent song and dance performance to pass: one success on a roll of [lower of Dexterity or Presence] + Expression − 5. I told the players that they had ample time to buff up. This particular player wanted to tackle the challenge purely mundanely, and assembled a dice pool of Attribute 3 + Expression 3 + Willpower 3 − penalty 5 = total 4. However, the roll failed; the player remarked that I made it too difficult, and I mentioned that I expected the PCs to actually buff up.

This particular character had Gnosis 3, Fate 1, Forces 1, Matter 4, Mind 3, Prime 3. They were accompanied by a mage with Gnosis 3, Life 3, Mind 3, Space 3, Spirit 3. I feel as though Fate 1's Quantum Flux alone could have done a lot, to say nothing of heavier-duty spells.

I think they're definitely a bit over-emphasised and present. At their portrayed level of potency they're just a bit much. I really like that they play into the Kindred's themes of predation, lost humanity and paranoia. They work great as the designated antagonist of the gameline (like Slashers, Idigam etc) in that they have a lot of overlap but are also distinct, their own clear thing. I'd rather them over VII or the Brood, but they're just a bit overbaked.

While I've never had to delve into a lore rationale for them, I err toward some stone-age era spirit of humanity raging against the confines of civillisation in how I roleplay them. They have a curiosity about the modern world and its sensibilities and attitudes, but they are fundamentally opposed to all of it.

No. That's fundamental misunderstanding of how Path of Metamorphosis works. Because:

That said, Auspex with a dash of Vicissitude for tampering with sensory organs sounds interesting.
You might even wanna try finding a way into Melpominee (all powers are sound-based) or Obeah (Anesthetic Touch, Mens Sana, Pain for Pleasure) - not something a character should be able to start with but rather as one of their research goals.

We kidnapped a guest before he arrived by having him hit the Malk with his car to get him, fleshcrafting said Malk to look like him, left the crystal ball in a position where the Sunlight would start a fire, used an Animalism rat to mess with the water pipes and sprinklers to spread an accelerant instead of water, the Malk acted like Tommy Wiseau to blend in with the partygoers, the Brujah girl passed massive frenzy checks after drunks kept grabbing her ass, and the targetted Toreador failed his daylight rouse check and burned down. Everyone had something to do, there was roleplay, and there was a PC plan that worked for once. I liked making my Malk's schizo collage for that game.

The Baker'ectoi was spur of the moment last night. I will need to write something up on that. Right now I have 3 ideas.
