>tfw Prince falls for your prank call (again)
>>98621588>TQWhen Shark made some delicious nachos!Made with people! And he gave them to a bunch of high humanity Toreador emissaries!Who were only there because the local prince was engaged in a war that he had no chance to win.Needless to say that the Toreadors weren’t happy and immediately broke off their alliance with the Prince. He even ordered Shark’s execution and banished from his court Shark’s creator, who was his childe and also the sheriff. The sheer reaction from the other players and ST was amazing. Plus I think it’s the highlight of me playing a Monster + Bon Vivant. Really hard to top

>>98621687Haha the thing is Shark wasn’t allowed anything! Or rather wasn’t forbidden to do it. Everyone assume that Shark is too feral for rational thinking (despite nailing every Occult and Academic knowledge rolls better than the rest of the coterie). We were invited to Elysium, but as always there wasn’t a menu for Shark. Only blood dolls you weren’t allowed to kill or chew their limbs off. So hearing that this Elysium would have special VIPs that we better not bother (fresh people who have yet to be spooked by Shark), Shark decided to bring his own contribution for once! And he even cooked! At the same time discovering a new passion.

>>98621588>>Thread Question>What was the most fun (You) have had in this general?Moth theorycrafting Im working on a google doc I will share with the thread once Ive cleaned it up a bit
I wanna make a story of a super soldier escaping into the wilderness and having a love-hate relationship with a werewolf. Which technocrat groups make mostly biological super soldiers?
>>98621753>TzimisceLiving human coat.
>>98621949They took the idea from the scots when they took the abandoned White Howlers caerns (the ones still untainted, at least). It fits both the green and beerful elements, plus ease of access when it’s time for drunken lovemaking
>>98621588>What was the most fun (You) have had in this general? The silly, in character bits. Plus I have fun making and posting scribbles.>What was the most fun game session you've had and why?Hmm... This on is hard to pin down. I guess from recent memory was when we gave V5 a try; it was also the only time I had any fun in that chronicle. One of the chronicle tenants was my suggestion of "There's a Difference Between Taking a Life and Being a Killer." I had a hunting scene with Bleu, looking for a melancholic resonance to up her Obfuscate, and when I managed to find a vessel (a depressed taxi driver) she did a bit of seduction to get him in close.>I'm a bit lonely back here, and you look like you could use a break.Roll successful. Time come to feed.>Ok. So I drain him for every last drop.>Aren't you only at Hunger 2?>True, but you said that there's nobody around and this guy is borderline suicidal depressive. Plus I'm nowhere near any of my usual haunts. So I don't see any reason NOT to kill him.The look on everyone's face was priceless. Especially since these were all my friends who I had playing with for many years, and I had even told them that the friend, good-humored personality that Bleu displays is an act she puts on in public - and they were still completely caught off guard. It was a great showcase of the character underneath her mask, and the sort of callous act of killing the chronicle tenants was about. I was more than happy to take the extra stains (the ST did rule that my Body of Set merit mitigated one though). It's a shame the whole thing fell apart next session (or maybe not, considering how little fun I was having).
Cappadocius was a jerk
Rate this plot for a story I'll make:>would-be fomor is imbued and burns down the pentex place he's at>they still gave him the mark, which attracts banes if he's near wyrm-tainted places>most garou think he's a monster, even those who don't would rather mercy kill him>plus he goes around doing what werewolves wont to, except he's human>soon he becomes a recluse in Alaska>the local red talons beg for help>they get a princess mononoke-like homid raised by lupus>hunter and werewolf fight>then they lose their hostility for each other>then the romance

>>98622096Bro, the progenitors are right there. They're THE most obvious pick.
How would you rate (and put a price in dots) on this wonder/invention:>A syringe that can convert quintessences into a drug that grants fomori powers>The powers are random, but the cost is higher if a specific mutation is desired>More than one power can be granted at the same time in a single injection>The effects are temporary or permanent, not sure which (it could depend on the amount of successes)
>>98622491>>The powers are random,Bro, banes are free. Here, have one.
>>98622586But you usually can’t chose which flavor of bane you get! Or how much power you get! And most of the time you need to be properly hollowed out first or be very unlucky to get possessed! Here take your meds anon!
>>98618544>>98618647>either making them bahari or have them be the religion of the crone the hag who taught caine about the blood bond >or both but then you also kinda need a maiden because you have a mother (lilth) a crone (crone)Thanks for the garden explanation. While I would argue Caine's Maiden could be interpreted as Zillah, that would align with a belief that their story is defined by Caine, which seems pretty contrary to the centric femininity that I see Bahari aiming for. I choose to believe that all 3 are Lilith, as she fulfilled the role of consort, caretaker, and teacher/torturer. Its a good thing the belief system is open-ended.I like the version of the story where I can mess with conflating Ennoia, Lilith, Crone and Gaia to mess with woof/mage cosmology. Mothers of monsters, first causes, wild women - similar forces by different names. Mythical figures that other perspectives confuse through their own lens, but I personally enjoy central Noddism and Male/Female Dualism for my personal WoD. Maybe Ennoia is Caine's and Lilith's biological daughter and her children are the garou & changing breeds while her embraces are the Gangrel and its offshoots. Who knows, plenty potential to go crazy here.
>>98622670At that point, what about Father Wolf and Mother Luna?
>>98622670>which seems pretty contrary to the centric femininity that I see Bahari aiming for. I choose to believe that all 3 are Lilith, as she fulfilled the role of consort, caretaker, and teacher/torturer. Its a good thing the belief system is open-ended.nta but Bahari are...well feminist yes but they are closer to female supremacists that focus on the suffering of themselves and others but wants women not think too much (because if they think, they would realize Bahari is just gaslighting them)
Had my Hunter game yesterday, and somehow managed to still get surprised by how things turned out despite having an extra week of run-up to it.>Robelle’s player made it this time, so we finally got to sort what she shared with Ricky the ghoul>She shared that they had met a different group of hunters, but that they “weren’t much”>she also shared that the skin thieves seemed to gain the knowledge and memories of the skin they were wearing>she then mentioned that her cell thought that Cortés was still alive due to the autopsy report not matching his medical records>proceeds to have a 5 minute in-character debate on whether it was a body double or just the skin thief that caused the discrepancy>Ricky says to keep her ears open and let him know if she finds any more useful information>Switching over to Oscar, the gangsters bag him and drive nearly 5 miles west to an auto salvage shop that’s “temporarily closed”>They bring him into the parts storage and the atmosphere shifts from hot and muggy to downright oppressive, and not from the heat>even the gangsters are looking down and minding their own business>Finally they reach the end of a row of shelves and find the gangbanger Oscar had throttled in the first session, standing next to an absolute GIGA NIGGA>6’4, ripped AF, with bull horns tattooed on the sides of his bald head (Rahu Blood Talon)>Oscar rightly assumes that this is El Toro del Terror, one of the gang leaders of the Bullrunners he was warned about>El Toro circles around him, saying that he must be the guy with a funny accent who folded one of his dudes in 3 seconds flat, then takes a BIG WHIFF of him>“They say once you get blood on your hands, you can never wash off the scent. You? You *reek* of it”>He walks over to a shelf and grabs a muffler, spends an essence for Primal Strength, and snaps the muffler in half in one go>he throws a half to Oscar and a half to the gangbanger
>>98622829I am well aware they are female supremacists, yes, I meant the dualism as more of a base for my version of the setting's cosmology, of which the Bahari would recognize the female half as divine and superior. >>98622718Aren't they from WtF rather than WtA? Can't say Im terribly familiar with WtF cosmology.

I didn’t even know what to do when the dice fell, but the player felt cool AF so I rewarded it. Very exciting.
>>98623048Only for Circle of the Crone since I want more meat on my Bahari, and I'd also paste in Vigil/Lost one because SAD/Leopoldites/Imbued can probably be pasted in compacts and conspiracies with some tooling, and Lost because I don't know or care to know anything of CtD.
Didn't the v20 Black Hand book say the Bahari accidentally discovered the blood magic principle that the nagaraja needed to avoid turning themselves into vampires? I'm surprised there wasn't anything about a nagaraja war on the bahari to steal that secret.
>>98623362not sure what you are talking about the nagaraja unlike the tremere turned themselves into vampires on purpose so that they could keep up with the setites because training mages takes time and is far harder than just embracing the ones who fucked up a spell in that faction are now liches of the true black hand because the egyptian spell of life isn't compatible with euthanatos magic

What's the deal with banality not affecting anyone else?
>>98623951why would it affect anyone else?
>>98623990Because it's really weird how no one managed to weaponized the phenomenon.
Is there a way for a setite to overcome his weakness to light?
>>98623951something something what changelings are told what banality is is wrong and dark age fae reveals that humans are meant to impose rules on fae and that global banality is the fault of true fae courts nuking each other with christianized faeblooded kids that they turned into bombs till they had to leave reality because they imposed a no fae rule on most of earth
Been playing around with an idea for a Mage>40-oddsome-year old office/business lady>Wildly successful and rich, has a high rank in the company/corporation she works at>Very impersonal and cold to everyone, as such, she's a terrifying presence in the workplace who could silence people with a simple glare>Her awakening occurs>One would think her essence would be Static and she'd be using her newfound powers to further herself in the business world>In reality it's Dynamic and she instead sees this as an opportunity to chase the old and silly dreams from her youth and reignite the passion for life and all its possibilities that she once had>Dreams and a passion that were snuffed out due to extraneous, almost supernatural circumstances that took her parents, gravely injured her, and left her bedridden for months 20 years ago>Now has to juggle exploring and developing these new powers while also maintaining her presence at her workplace on top of whatever story related chicanery is going onI think this could be a lot of fun, and it has quite a few avenues for ties to a larger narrative if desiredShe'd probably be Cult of Ecstasy with the 'Transcend your Limits' Paradigm as that's basically how she acted throughout her youth, always pushing herself to be the best at whatever she did as she found exhilaration and meaning in overcoming challenges which still somewhat carried over to her career, though her heart never was in it

>>98623951Banality == paradox. Fae are just a particular flavor of bygone.
>>98623951dtf demons have disbelief which is a far weaker version of banalitysome books also tried to give sorcery something like that too, but i never saw anyone using it

>>98624061>Banality == paradoxWeirdly enough, no. The creation of Banality isn't actually humanity's fault(for once). Banality is the magical equivalent of nuclear fallout left behind after the solstice war, when the True Fae were treating dangerous magical weapons with all the restraint and critical thinking of the Fae. Long story short, it suddenly started getting hard to breath and the assholes got out of dodge while leaving their half-breed bastard children on earth to suffer for their parents mistakes. The funny part of Changeling is that they're all genuinely the old kind of Changelings forced to reincarnate, not actual faery souls(which are the firstborn/True Fae/Tuatha). They just forgot because thousands of years of past lives get hard to keep track of.
>>98623731Stop being so thin-skinned. The Progenitors did nothing wrong.
>>98624215>isn't actually humanity's fault(for once)My dude, almost nothing that went wrong in WoD is humanity's fault. Every faction is screwed because they screwed Themselves over. That's part of what make World of Darkness weirdly noblebright, humanity is actually both morally good and highly competent when not being lobotomized by mindrape magic(A shame every nightbeast has mindrape magic).
>>98624238Actually anon EVERYTHING is humanity's fault because of Caine being a retard and smashing his brother's skull in with a rock(ignore that the demons started it)
>>98624251Caine was a Mage. Even Angels like the Messengers label Mages as the subhuman mutants they are. It's not really fair to label humanity with the mistakes of a malformed evolutionary dead end so disgusting that god felt the need to sterilize him just so his mutant offshoot bloodline wouldn't polute anymore generations(curses upon the witch lilith for allowing him a new way to spread his foul disease).
>>98624282>with the mistakes of a malformed evolutionary dead end so disgusting that god felt the need to sterilize him just so his mutant offshoot bloodline wouldn't polute anymore generationsWow Lucif-*Ahem* Anon, tell us how you really feel.

...could Caine impregnate someone? Or did he get burnt from ultimate BPDemon Lilith so bad he stayed off women forever?

I'm still excited for HtP episodes
>>98624537For fucks sake, you Fucked Up Alfabusa! You destroyed the original build-up for the vampire storyline you were constructing and started the werewolf arc Waaaaaay too soon.It took TTS dozens of episodes of build-up before it got to any of the fast-paced action. The slow burn was it's greatest Strength. It'd honestly have been better to finish the ghoul arc in the same 3 episode pacing as season 1, introduce pentex in episode 6 to foreshadow, and focus on the Regent before introducing the Wolves. But that opportunity is gone, you blew your load prematurely on the 5th stroke and your fanbase is left unsatisfied while your franchise wilts.
>>98624591I Alfabusa?Alfabusa me?
I normally dont answer my own TQs but I really want to this time.>TQBeing Bakeslave. Losing my friend and my tabletop group falling out was a major shock to my system. Lurking here gave me some closure and taking over baking gave me some feeling of control in my life. It was a bit stressful going from a lurker and occasional poster to a dedicated position. I definitely fucked up quite a few times, Not making a new thread when we were at bump and image limit & having a manic panic at the sharp uptick in traffic is something I still kick myself over. but I learned. Even the Bakeslave character is something I have grown to love and cherish. It gave me a reason to look into other splats and struggling to retain the little bits of himself after losing his identity multiple times was oddly therapeutic. Never in my life did I ever think someone would cosplay as one of my characters or that I would get a picture of my character.>AQIts a tie between my Tzimisce and the Caitiff necromancer getting mind controlled and beating eachother into torpor (his Caitiff was weak as shit but his zombies were a bitch to deal with) or when my Toreador and friend's Brujah got high on drunk coke fiends, got into a high speed chase on the highway, waving guns and shooting at cops, crashing the car and being pronounced "dead" on scene, and watching our other friend scramble to try and get our bodies from the morgue.
>>98624591Nta but Im a Warhammer secondary. TTS any good?
two questions, anons, hoping to get some help here:>I'm getting ready to run the second part of my Hunter: The Vigil campaign, and I made the decision early on that my main threat for the first couple threats would be a Toreador Anarch. Her goal is to establish a barony in the beauty and majesty of rural ontario, but a bunch of fish people and the party of hunters are in her way. In the second Hunt, the vampire is ghouling a person the party had come to like, and I was going to give him Awe to help him be more ingratiated to the party. Is there a way you guys write Presence on opposing factions to be less in-your-face 'they're using magic to be more persuasive'?>I wanted them to be sent to the farm of the villain of the first arc to search up leads on who his master was, who was a Slasher turned into a ghoul by the vampire. My plan is that he brutally murdered his wife, and her ghost still haunts the farmhouse. Is there a ruleset somewhere for wraiths to easily stat her, or do I need to pull out the Wraith splatbook to figure out what she should be able to do?
>>98624630it's kind of funny, but the story gets kind of stupid. It's good the series ended where it did because there was no way any further story development would have gone well.
>>98624251>(ignore that the demons started it)Did demons make Caine do it? Is this stupid bitch just entirely without any fucking agency?
>>98624655First off, now was the worst time to ask. American traffic is usually 75%-90% of thread traffic.>Hunter: the Vigil>Toreador Anarch BaronIs this a game that blend chronicles and classic or just plants vigil in classic?>PresenceThe best thing to do is not tell the players that you're using presence at all. Activate your powers and roll the necessary dice, but pretend it's normal social combat and let your players make their social rolls. Whenever a Presence power is used, play it of like they didn't roll anywhere Near high enough. Let them roll in a later scene afterward to figure out they were victims of Presence.Characters don't normally know they're under Presence, otherwise the discipline becomes worthless.>Wraith splatbookEvery corebook has quick-n-dirty ghost creation rules in the storyteller section, but I'd reccomend using wraith instead. Wraith isn't too complicated when you realize half the stats are literally just your character motivations.
>>98624711I know V:TM more so I used their lore for my stuff.as for the wraith stuff, thanks.
>>98624706More like humans were dumb retards with stifled potential as per Demon lore because the angels weren't allowed to actually teach them directly as per God's orders. Demons are the angels that followed lucifer and actually wanted to teach humans properly but then a war happened between those angels and heaven. It looked more like a weird performative dance at first but then Caine literally metaphysically invented murder(because the natural state of humans is to be mages) and it fucked everything in the setting and turned the angel war into pure violent butchery. So yeah technically it's all lucifer's fault abd maybe also God because apparently lucifer received the order to rebel directly
>>98624726>and maybe also God because apparently lucifer received the order to rebel directlySomething something things from beyond the Horizon pretending to be God.Something something greatest set-up in the history of Creation.Something something it was the plan all along and they're playing the very long game.
>>98624726Okay, yeah. I knew about that. I thought maybe the anon I was replying to was trying to saying it was the demons' fault Caine killed Abel.Although it's kind of hypocritical of Lucifer to think that humans were better off being moulded by the angels and then being put off by what the Messengers made of Wendel Delburton. Not to mention all of the people that Lucifer killed because they wouldn't think his way.
>>98624746God is apparently a woman in WoD, so if it all seems like bizarre schizoid nonsense that's because it is.
>>98621588>What was the most fun game session you've had and why?Vampire Dark Ages game, I was playing an elder Assamite whom, through networking and sheer fucking balls absolute lack of a survival instinct because high as fuck road score had managed to obtain entry into a Lasombran methusaleh's court, to represent his clan as an unbiased source of information and insight in the shadow inquisition's planning of how to depose of the Ashirra influence in Iberia. The methusaleh was sufficiently impressed (and autistic enough, path of kings) that he allowed my presence on condition that I don't pull any blood shenanigans. Considering how reliant my build was thus far on disciplines, it was a refreshingly direct grounding into a game of wit-vs-wit.Just sat in the background and pointed flaws in the shadow inquisition's plans enough that the meeting went nowhere, filibustered the inquisition away for another few years without a single death.
>>98624749>Although it's kind of hypocritical of Lucifer>Lucifer>Literally The Devil among devilsAnon, I'm pretty sure that was The Point.
>>98624752>God is apparently a woman in WoDThough, our only source for that is Satan... so...
>>98624758I guess I'm just a smooth brained retard. It seemed to me like he was being presented as a positive character the reader's meant to side with.
>>98624749To be fair, lucifer was genuinely trying to help from what I understand, the other demons just decided they were too good for that and wanted freedom, and the first thing they did with that freedom was turn into absolutely evil and subhuman gigahedonists
>>98624752>the Lucifer's rebellion, the fall of Man, the first murder, all of it was just one giant, colossal, phenomenal woman momentGreat googly moogly, it all makes perfect sense now.>>98624765Why would he lie? He'd never do that! R-right?
>>98622972Is there any Cappadocian descendant that actually likes Cappadocius by the modern nights?
>>98624785Werewolf isn't much better when everything also literally happens because of a phenomenal BPDemon woman moment. Poor wyrm got manipulated by a woman he liked then tricked and dragged into a bdsm dungeon because Weaver fucking hated Wyld
>>98624797not really no. most who are alive are alive because of Lazaraus who been saying that the guy was insane for at least a thousand years and the Harbingers been sharing the knowledge that he fucked the clan on purpose since revised/2003
>>98624238Are we just not counting mages as humans because they developed some cool powers?
>>98621588>Alt questionI recently ran a oneshot for a new player joining my Hunter campaign, to get him used to the system(he's used to CoC). He was almost in tears by the end of it, bonding with this little girl character whom I'd only put a little effort into creating as a damsel.
>>98624815>Lazaraus who been saying that the guy was insane for at least a thousand yearsAdmittedly he's also rimming Setites on a daily basis so I can see why nobody trusted him pre-Feast.
>>98624777So were the book of nod and revelations of the dark mother for caine and lilith respectively. The fact remains that it's easy to look passed the bias and realize these people are fucking retards when you read between the lines. Lilith was clearly blaming everyone in the world for her perpetual victim complex like a classic BPDemon and Caine was an edgy privk with daddy issues who only ever needed to apologize to avoid Dooming Humanity.Lucifer is written the same way
>>98624797to add to what the other anon said japeth called most loyalists home to the Monastery of St. Timothy just in time for them to be fucked by the giovanni and their proto sabbat allies and because of the feast of folly nobody dared not to show when summoned so the reason why the cappadocian genocide was far faster than the salubri one was that there been so few pockets of surrivours as the clan just send most of it's own members into a trap
>>98624842he is also widely known to be a kinslayer and traitor to the clan so his reputation before the clan fell was in the shitters during the dark age bookshe is very much a vindicated by history kinda guy
>>98621588>Question 1I like reading people's silly stories >Question 2Never played a session and probably never willBut it's fun reading up on all the insane lore
>>98621588>What was the most fun game session you've hadi think i told this story before but i been running a game for a group of total newbies and they been great i can't really do it justice through text but the vibe just been there 3 neonates (tremere, toreador, brujah) been new to the city and agreed to hunt a wright for petty cash and to show that they are useful so that they would be allowed to stay in the cityusing newspapers (game set in 1999) they found out that all the murders are in a area around a ikea shop and decide to break in, but they fail to pick the lock so while the other players looked around for a second entrance (and been just about to find one) our toreador decides to just jump through the glass wall causing the alarm to go off which caused the wright and the police to become alarmed to their positionthey then had a very confusing fight involving the tremere using lure of flame causing the wright (which has zero humanity mind you) to flee and the two who had celerity to run after it while the third went for the camera footage. A few rounds later the wright was dead but the tremere couldn't delete the footage so he stole the harddrive instead finally the cops show up i explain that presence isn't dominate and that the tremere didn't put any dots into dominate so the toreador uses presence to just get everyone's attention and have them be confused as the 3 run for their car (the brujah also picking up the tremere to run faster)in the end they got the cash, but had to spend all of it to get a new car after their burned their old one and they been allowed to stay in the city but owned the guy who send them on this mission a favor to get the cops off their back and been told that this is usually how working for older vampires turns out one of them later joined my ttrpg group but the other two can't really make time because they have shitty jobs where they don't know which days they will have off in advance or something like that

>>98625340>So wait what actually happened? Was Lucifer just a piece of shit that led the angels astray for personal power or was he truly trying to help humans? different demons have different ideas about that sadly the answer to that is as of the ToJ book up to the STlucifer might be the most pro-human in the setting, controlled opposition who did everything on god's order or just a angel who tried to make things better and screwed up > What I remember is that Asmodeus fucking ruined everything by breeding Nephilim into existencethat happened, but it did happen after caine invented murder a lot angels of both side woke up after a two week murder blender horrified at what happened and the ebony legion (which was the legion the least concerner with humanity in the first place) especially decided that humanity did that to them despite all the efforts of the rebels and gave up on humanity as a whole and just went trying to win or do as much damage to the loyalists as possible
You know, with the idea of God dying from Demon and what that anon many threads back proposed, maybe we can solve the cosmology by saying that the Triat came into being as a result of God sacrificing herself to make sure the universe can run properly. Or rather she fractured and became the Triat, you can even explain Weaver's love of humanity as a remnant of God's
>>98625354>after caine invented murder a lot angels of both side woke up after a two week murder blender horrified at what happenedUnfortunately, only Fallen Angels went full on murder retard. It is a plot point that Angels were just shocked, unaware and just assumed everything would go like before, without any murder.
>>98625386lucifer also mentions in days of fire that 4 more angels than rebelled got locked up by god. 1 of them shows up in the fiction novelsthat combined with the bleeding man story and noddism has some people come to the theory back then that micheal is the wyrm because there is also a bit where lucifer tells him something during the rebellion that causes him to throw away his sword the theory then goes of course that lucifer told him the plan for creation and that michael threw his sword away so that he wouldn't be able to cut himself free from the weavers net
>>98625325The Battle of Naseby during the English Civil War. King Charles I hired a small army of ill-prepared Hermetic mages who went overboard and unleashed heaps of vulgar magic. Likely due to the parliamentary army being under the sway of the Order of Reason at the time and thinking "this is such bullshit," the universe cracked down and ate the mages in the first example of Paradox ever occurring. Two entire Hermetic houses were rendered borderline extinct by the event and roughly a tenth of the Hermetic mages were destroyed in that single battle. The rest of the Order promptly said "fuck this shit" and retreated en masse to Doissetep, where this newfangled Paradox wouldn't hurt them.

How does the Garou Nation work? Are septs and packs meant to be multi-cultural units or is that mostly a PC thing? I'm asking because the tribes are noted as having their own cultures and even internal political factions. How are these niggas even organized?
>>98626843>How does the Garou Nation work?Maybe my table was a bit weird but my table leaned hard into feudal bullshit with the Silver Fangs being the ones ruling over the nation. What you to get what you want is list your deeds to build up why people should listen to you.
Baali bussy
>>98626869>how does the garou nation worksIn theory it’s a sort of feudal monarchy led by the Silver Fangs, with each tribe having its role in the nation at large. In practice, it’s more of a loose confederation of, well, tribes that each pursue their own interests and the SF mostly points the general direction they should be going towards. The fact that they fumbled even that is why they weren’t liked by the others until Jonas Albrecht found the Silver Crown (and he’s viewed as more of an exception to the rule)>are septs and packs meant to be multicultural unitsIn the past, no. Single tribe packs and septs were the norm, but with how badly things are going in general for the garou the tribes are forced to share the few caerns that are left, which means that both septs and packs are mostly multitribal by necessity >how are these niggas even organized They aren’t, that’s why they are losing and fixing that is one of the underlying goals of garou pcs
>>98624756>Ashirra influence in IberiaThose sure are words>path of kingsIs that a homebrew discipline?
>>98626792>The tremere is not like that at all, they are pragmatic.Pragmatic doesn't mean they don't do horrible shit. This is the clan that was going bar for bar with the Tzimisce in terms of nightmare monster creation in less than a century after they turned themselves into vampires. These are the guys who invented the "throw a bunch of vampires in a blender" ritual. Or how about the one that links two people's nervous systems so you can torture someone twice as hard, or even let the living learn what dying feels like.

>>98627164>Pragmatic doesn't mean they don't do horrible shitSure, but they don't see being evil as the objective, like the Bali.
>>98626869>How are these niggas even organized? They are not. Imagine not having the gift of Dogma.
>>98626869>How does the Garou Nation work?Think of it like European Union. Each tribe is their own thing but they have high interconnectivity and higher positions that can influence all of them. Each Tribe usually has its own Septs but most septs has some degree of mult-tribal packs and caerns.
>>98627164I'm with you, Ceoris was decadent like a Unit 731 that got to run for hundreds of years and keep every human centipede experiment as an undead pet. That place died of infection, all Virstania did was collect emotional support frankensteins until it was a problem when she left the kennel open and nobody stopped her.
>>98626869It's a loose alliance of the tribes, with most septs across the world being mono-tribal. Mixed septs are a much rarer thing and typically only found in the USA, where Wendigo and Uktena septs were wiped out of replaced by a melting pot of every tribe. They basically never organise and work together as an entire nature and their interactions are mostly limited to wandering Galliards and Silent Striders carrying news between septs. The Garou Nation is yet another thing that the players are expected to try and fix, in their question to get the Garou to get their shit together before it's too late. WtA really is the ultimate leftist infighting simulator.
>>98627172>>98627198Neither do the other clans mentioned. Brujah don't really have a cohesive driving culture, besides maybe being generally /pol/tarded, but even then there's exceptions. Tziggers are definitely evil but have that cope about how they're "inhuman" and "transcendent". Maybe Gios revel in it especially with Augie's dumb plan, but that's more self-interest and being bad at math rather than "I revel in being as evil as possible".
>>98627255>all Virstania did was collect emotional support frankensteins until it was a problemYou have to give her credit though, she was an actual genius of thaumaturgy. >>98624598Hello bakeslave, I'm a bit drunk but I wanted to send this to you since I asked you a bit ago about your character and wanted to put them in my Hunter game, here's what I thought upAyaki Kagami is a mid-20s Japanese second-generation immigrant who lived alone in Miami after his parents returned to Japan. Isolated and friendless, he found solace in his neighbor Dianna—a single woman over twice his age and the assistant Chief of Police of Miami. Her warm demeanor and fierce passion for justice caused Ayaki to fall in love with her.One day, Dianna revealed she had reported a massive corruption ring, only to be urged by the chief to quietly retire to avoid assassination. The shock caused her to Awaken, and she resolved to summon spiritual embodiments of Justice to purge the city. Ayaki agreed to help, acting as the secretary for the security firm she funded with her retirement savings that acted as a cover for her magical undertakings.Seeking a human host for her summoned spirits, Ayaki volunteered himself as her first attempt. Due to his deep love for her, his Resonance harmonized with a passion spirit. Having succeeded, Dianna pushed Ayaki away. She feigned that his resonance was too strong, though she actually wanted to shield him from her worsening moral spiral.Claimed by the spirit, Ayaki's body morphed to fit Dianna's preferences: he became androgynous and grew breasts (She's into women, he was doomed from the start). He gained regenerative abilities, the power to induce instant swooning or terror with a glance and grew tentacles from his back. Though he could hide these changes, he lost his job because his boss "didn't want no trannies" and lost his apartment. Now compelled by the spirit, Ayaki wanders greater Miami, still longing for Dianna’s acceptance. I didn't remember bakeslave's original ban and bane, so I made my own. Ayaki's ban requires sleeping with someone once a week, and his bane is a consecrated mirror that reflects the spirit.
I have a player of a mage in Mage: The Awakening 2e. This player has not particularly invested in mundane abilities for their character much, if at all. After one particular challenge that the PC failed to succeed at using mundane means, the player expressed a preference that challenge difficulties should be calibrated such that mages can succeed on them easily enough using purely mundane means, without having to buff up or otherwise cast spells.I can see where they are coming from, certainly.>In the end if the expectation is that people are gonna prebuff all the time then you encourage that to become the case. But on the other hand, I specifically, explicitly said that the PCs had time to buff up to tackle the challenge ahead of them. And on the other hand, if I calibrate challenges such that mages can succeed easily enough without the use of magic, then any mage who does elect to cast some spells will simply smash through everything.I have talked to the player about it (over a couple of days, by this point), and they really seem to prefer a setup wherein mundane abilities are perfectly sufficient to overcome challenges. But again, if I do that, then it means that a mage (e.g. this person's PC) can just opt to go gloves-off and "lock in" at any given moment to trivialize all challenges.I do not know how to handle this. What expectation should I set?
>>98627936>the player expressed a preference that challenge difficulties should be calibrated such that mages can succeed on them easily enough using purely mundane means, without having to buff up or otherwise cast spells. If he cannot find a way for these mundane abilities to succed than he is too dumb to play using mostly mundane abilities.
>>98627957For reference, here was the challenge in question. They were in the Hedge. There was an enchanted, warded door that demanded an excellent, really excellent song and dance performance to pass: one success on a roll of [lower of Dexterity or Presence] + Expression − 5. I told the players that they had ample time to buff up. This particular player wanted to tackle the challenge purely mundanely, and assembled a dice pool of Attribute 3 + Expression 3 + Willpower 3 − penalty 5 = total 4. However, the roll failed; the player remarked that I made it too difficult, and I mentioned that I expected the PCs to actually buff up.This particular character had Gnosis 3, Fate 1, Forces 1, Matter 4, Mind 3, Prime 3. They were accompanied by a mage with Gnosis 3, Life 3, Mind 3, Space 3, Spirit 3. I feel as though Fate 1's Quantum Flux alone could have done a lot, to say nothing of heavier-duty spells.
>>98627985>They were in the Hedge>player wanted to tackle the challenge purely mundane>In the Hedge>In the Fucking HedgeAnon, your player is a retard. I'm not just saying that as an insult, their mind is running windows 8 in an optimized Linux group.

Random character concept: A Tzimisce psychiatrist who specializes in Auspex instead of Vicissitude because his sire wanted to see if the Path of Metamorphosis's tenets can also be practiced on the mind. Possible ties to Malkavian Antitribu.
>>98627198Didn't the Baali only do their rituals to impede something worse from awakening?
>>98629518Since CofD is not really a Christian setting, I always took the curse from God thing as told by Lancea et Sanctum and Ordo Dracul as just them misunderstanding the "natural" process that leads to a vampire clan's creation. Like how the Gangrel supposedly come from bestiality, the Mekhet from burial rites, certain "unclean" things lead to vampires.
So what's the status on V6? Any new updates or meltdowns?
>>98630337after the playtest feedback drama is getting removed and they will look at the rest of the rules
>>98629505I think they're definitely a bit over-emphasised and present. At their portrayed level of potency they're just a bit much. I really like that they play into the Kindred's themes of predation, lost humanity and paranoia. They work great as the designated antagonist of the gameline (like Slashers, Idigam etc) in that they have a lot of overlap but are also distinct, their own clear thing. I'd rather them over VII or the Brood, but they're just a bit overbaked. While I've never had to delve into a lore rationale for them, I err toward some stone-age era spirit of humanity raging against the confines of civillisation in how I roleplay them. They have a curiosity about the modern world and its sensibilities and attitudes, but they are fundamentally opposed to all of it.
>>98630259Sounds interesting especially since Auspex can get real weird at higher levels.
>>98630259i like it, but i feel like just making him a psychiatrist might be a bit too simple. make him like a outdated one who was already on the fringe back thenperhaps someone who was really into the ideas that souls are real even before the embrace
>>98630259
>>98630259>because his sire wanted to seeNo. That's fundamental misunderstanding of how Path of Metamorphosis works. Because:>Hierarchy of Sins>8 Asking another for knowledge. (The lessons of Metamorphosis are secrets that must be uncovered, not copied.)>7 Sharing knowledge with another. (Knowledge must be learned, not simply illustrated.)Pursuing the Auspex angle because adherent of the Path decided, of his own volition, to learn this way, is fine. Doing so because somebody asked him to, even if it were his own sire, goes against the principles of the path. That said, Auspex with a dash of Vicissitude for tampering with sensory organs sounds interesting. You might even wanna try finding a way into Melpominee (all powers are sound-based) or Obeah (Anesthetic Touch, Mens Sana, Pain for Pleasure) - not something a character should be able to start with but rather as one of their research goals.
>>98630698I have to wonder just how much more effective the Tzimisce would be if they hadn't made everybody having to reinvent the wheel a core pillar of the path of metamorphosis.
>>98630701Stubborn individualism should make the clan as a whole more powerful, if they were teaching each other there would be convergence towards one "right" way of doing things and less unhinged experimentation.

>>98630701They'd be a boring budget Tremere, a part of the appeal of the Tzimisce is how independent and self-reliant they are. Each Tzimisce elder is an island who has reached that level of power entirely of their own accord, without assistance but with plenty of competition from other Tzimisce. They don't benefit from any collective sharing of knowledge, everything that such an elder has obtained was gained entirely through their own merits and their own hard work. It's true meritocracy, with all of the benefits and defects of such a system.
>>98629209I have slept off the drunk and can better answer questions now>is this for COFD?Yup, I did a lot of work translating his stuff with the sheet you provided into Dread Powers to use. >the banI figured the ban would be like the spirit twisting his desire for companionship into something more. I do still have the taint, but it’s more of a compulsion to touch in general. Touching people, furniture, clothes, the walls… his hands don’t feel right *not* touching something, so he tends to hold things to keep from being handsy. >What is his role in the chronicle? He will stand as one of the only ways to get to Dianna without a big stir, as she’s the big antagonist of the chronicle. Her plan to get rid of crime was to have spirits of justice claim humans and turn them into skin thieves, killing anyone who commits any crime and taking their place in order to kill deep-rooted corruption from within. These skin thieves are disrupting a local vampire’s plot, the local Uratha’s hunting, and killing innocents who are guilty of petty crime like jaywalking. Even the cell is composed of a current criminal and ex-criminal. Ayaki is one of the few who can reveal to the cell who she is, and one of the only people left who can get potentially get through to her.I also thought about turning him into a Locus (think a Caern from Apocalypse, but naturally occurring) to represent the bane attractor trait, which would make him VERY interesting for the local Uratha.

Probably the one where we infiltrated a Toreador's mansion party for shittalking a Tzimisce's Nosferatu friend and ghouling his mortal days ex-wife to burn it down with a Crystal Ball. We kidnapped a guest before he arrived by having him hit the Malk with his car to get him, fleshcrafting said Malk to look like him, left the crystal ball in a position where the Sunlight would start a fire, used an Animalism rat to mess with the water pipes and sprinklers to spread an accelerant instead of water, the Malk acted like Tommy Wiseau to blend in with the partygoers, the Brujah girl passed massive frenzy checks after drunks kept grabbing her ass, and the targetted Toreador failed his daylight rouse check and burned down. Everyone had something to do, there was roleplay, and there was a PC plan that worked for once. I liked making my Malk's schizo collage for that game.

Shark here! Today’s game was quite eventful! Hope you’re ready for it!>So last game our nazi soldiers have been targeted by the Assamites and there was nothing they could do about it>So today’s session started with Mathilda being on guard duty with her high auspex>…>And she botched>What happened you may ask?>Well the answer is simple>Shark immediately ate shit>Shark was minding his own business, munching on a bone with a derpy expression like that hyena in Lion King>And the trained elite assassins immediately panicked, assuming Shark is the biggest threat around (they were right)>Ten hidden riflemen had a stupidly high amount of success in their ambush rolls, then just as much in their attack rolls, and almost as high in their damage roll>And Shark tanked almost none of that>And he was already at two aggravated boxes of damage>Before anyone had time to react Shark was already on the ground, his head looking more like Swiss cheese than people shaped>ST realized that this might have been overkill, so Shark survived>But barely>He was then brought back to Maria, the sexy Malkavian dommy mommy in Nazi uniform>The same one that often plays with Shark’s mind and wants to turn him into a pet (her primogen relative too, there are two malky dommy mommies)>After playing with his mangled body for a while she brought him back to full health thanks to some secret power of hers>She even healed the aggravated wounds!
>>98633202He sounds like a Sidhe ranting about Pentex.
>>98633275Oh! Sharky story time! You better believe I'm ready! Bring on the carnage!>Dome-shotted by Assamite riflemen.Well that was... anti-climactic. I was hoping he'd at least make it to the promised Setite army showdown. Also, sexy Malkavians. Always a classic. I have one of my own.
>>98633275>Our group then took the decision to NOT stay here a single minute more than necessary and we all went packing our stuff and be ready to go>Well not us, but our German soldiers and the locals we hired for excavating did the work>Catalina decided to boss people around to hurry things up>So she went to the officers’ tent>She saw that most were relaxing and taking things easy, which she had taken issue with>The German officers kindly reminded her that they pulled double shifts watching over the cainites during the day, and now they could finally rest as the train was approaching>Then the chief amongst them, Emil, began being inquisitive>While striking casual conversation he inquired about the method into becoming a vampire>We know that the man spent years researching us, even finding out information about vampire-kind that some of us where uninformed>It was clear that he intended on becoming one of us, but the question was what was he willing to do to become immortal? Would he betray us? Probably, but not right now>Catalina decided not to tell him the truth, but she danced around it enough with hints and being vague, so that it couldn’t be discerned>Mathilda went around doing patrols trying to make up for her failure>Shark went to Rasputin who was kneeling and praying to Anubis’ sarcophagus>The man still had a shrunken decomposed head which prevented him from using blood magic>Shark was about to snicker at that sight then he remembered the state his own face was not too long ago>After a few minutes of prayers unanswered Shark decided to give it a shot by speaking to Anubis in his own head>”Hey wassup! You wanna answer to him or do you prefer me?”

Becoming the official voice of Anubis could be something he could lord over everyone in the Sabbat, and boss them around>He didn’t want it for power, just for the lolz>”SHARK. ONLY YOU DETAIN THE KEY TO FREE ME. ONLY YOU CAN FULFILL MY AMBITIONS AND THE PLANS OF OUR THREE HEADED MASTER. BUT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WILL DECIDE THE OPPORTUNE TIME. WHEN ALL HOPE IS LOST. WHEN EVERYTHING IS ON THE PRECIPICE OF FAILURE. THEN, I COMMAND YOU, TO COME AND FREE ME.”>”Do you want me to share this information with Rasputin, sir?”>”DO AS YOU PLEASE, BUT IT IS NOT NECESSARY.”>Shark smiled and giggled like a child>The plan that Rasputin spent hundreds of years pursuing, the goal he sacrificed so much and burn so many bridges to attain>Shark could shut him off of it just for laugh>It is when the mental discussion ended that an alarm rang>Rasputin started panicking>The enemy was coming>Everyone embarked on the train as quick as possible>Mathilda with her auspex could see that quite an army was marching towards them

>>98633666>Meanwhile Catalina was doing a pretty bang up job interfering with the enemy>She was creating areas of darkness that prevented the Setites from aiming their automatic weapons at the train>She created other zones of darkness on the ladder of trucks (conjured up by Ravnos) that were serving as boarding bridges, paralysing enemies on them for a round>She also used her shadow tentacles to throw away smoke grenades that would have blinded us>Mathilda had the time to transform into her horrid form>And good thing too! Because Setites were landing on top of the trains and some of them threw inside her wagon a mysterious purse>Was it a bomb?!>A magical curse of some kind?!>Setite trickery?!>no>it was just a bunch of snakes, like 5 or 6 of them>Woe, snakes be unto you>So Mathilda in her impressive warform stomped one>She then proceeded to get her shit kicked in by the other reptiles>Mind you, those were NORMAL snakes>They weren’t even ghouled>It was the three owls incident all over again
>>98633746>After he had finished helping his nazi compatriots Shark went back to his original wagon>But in the wagon between the two he got interrupted by a new arrival>CUE BOSS MUSIC>ST had crafted the perfect nemesis for Shark>It was…>ANOTHER SHARK>Standing in front of our “hero” was a gangrel convert>One of the three lieutenants of Cairo’s Temple>Built just like Shark, even a bit stronger, claws out and him too blood buffing all physical stats to 10>Shark knew that the fight between the two will result from a coin flip>He rolled 22 in initiative>Shark rolled 23>Shark had no time to lose, he had to kill him FAST>Shark put him in a clinch and succeeded the strength contest roll>This ruined the actions of his opponent, and limited the damage he could do>So the gangrel extended his tongue and started sipping Shark’s vitae>Truly the result would derive from a coin flip>AND>SHARK>CALLS>HEAD!!!!!!!>*crunch*

>>98633974>Luckily for the coterie Shark had quite a unique personality>Something that the Gangrel couldn’t replicate>Catalina and Mathilda immediately recognized that something went wrong>Just as the Lasombra was grabbing her new ceremonial dagger…>Shark’s eyes took the shape of a snake’s eyes>Unfortunately for everyone, Shark was a combat monster with all his physical stats buffed to 10>It literally took Mathilda, Catalina, Plutarch, Alexandra, and two other revenants just to contain the possessed Shark>Too many times the group nearly suffered severe wounds facing his claws>They all knew that there wasn’t any other alternative>They had to kill Shark>And so one of the revenants grabbed their axe, and invoked the power of Thor to do a disgustingly massive amount of damage with a single strike>Decapitating Shark>And Shark…>Shark saw it all>He was forced to watch>Forced to assist as his body betrayed his very nature of not hurting his allies>Forced to see the world through his own eyes while he was controlled like a puppet>And he was powerless>Never has he felt that powerless, has his head hit the floor>Then he felt dragged somewhere, just as the train hit the skull shaped sandstorm>Shark found himself in front of Anubis, in his godly jackal form>”AS WE TOLD YOU, SHARK. The fundamental failure of the World of Darkness is that a setting built on gothic-punk rebellion—anti-authority, anti-corporate, deliberately ugly and confrontational—ended up in the hands of people who are the precise opposite of punk: upper-middle-class, college-educated yuppies who have never lived anything close to the thing they claim to steward. These are risk-averse brand managers and committee writers whose idea of edge is a carefully worded statement, who treat the property like a fragile corporate asset instead of the chaotic, confrontational hobby it was meant to be, and who have no real clue what punk actually is beyond a marketable aesthetic.

ST implied that Shark would probably lose his physical disciplines and stats, and gain new randomized ones. He alluded that some people would be interested in an army of Sharks and create Blood Brothers out of his blood. Shark would then possess one of them and take control of the hive. >>98634122Unless someone exclusively plays WoD I don't see why they can't use the generic GM? It's a pain in the ass to use special terms for the person running the game.
>>98634121>He alluded that some people would be interested in an army of Sharks and create Blood Brothers out of his bloodAre these the same people trying to make clones of Bakeslave?!>>98634130Are you able to buy powers in exchange for taints in addition to an exp cost?
>>98634168Me and Bakeslave have nothing in common, our group know that I storytime here but I doubt anyone has actually checked. Plus my retelling are 90% accurate… mostly because I always forget some stuff, or move some events out of order (and combine them to make posts with less text). They’d probably tease me about that.Every Mathilda humiliation 110% happened. That I swear.>Are you able to buy powers in exchange for taints in addition to an exp cost?No idea. Though he did say that if I pick Brain Eater (the version that grants exp) then I would be very restricted on what I gain. So I would not take the system I would only gain exp on named NPCs, and some I would have to work hard for it. I decided against it. Too much work and I want to go more Beast-of-War style. I really want to fill that role. Also the players are thinking about doing the easy way and just embraced/ghoul some schmuck and turn them into a Szlachta to give me a superior body. Part of me wish we could capture a garou instead and redo what Anubis did.
>that malk who learned vicissitude just so he could fleshcraft all his children into the exact same appearance
>>98634130These are the ones you might be interested from the Possessed book (I recommend mega 2 if you dont have that book.)Armored Hide, Beserker, Bestial Mutation, Bulky, Devour, Electrical Field, Entropic Touch, Hazardous Breath, Natural Weaponry, Poison, Self Immolation, Size, Spirit Rending (requires Spirit Sense and Beserker). From Freak LegionBody Barbs, Roar of the Wyrm, Stomach Pumper, Toxic SecretionsSome of these powers might be redundant but I figure I would list every power I thought was the most useful for acts of absolute carnage.
>>98634231>half gender inverted>then fucked them>calls himself a tel-avivvi or something
>>98634277Are there powers incompatible with my build? Like demanding Empathy or other stuff I don’t have? Here’s Shark character sheet from before this game. Physical attributes probably will change.https://files.catbox.moe/gnbmiz.pdf
>>98634122>>98634155I, too, reject "Storyteller" because it's a terrible name that implies I'm here to railroad you through some shitty novel I wrote in advance.
>>98634106They hated this anon because he told them the truth.
>>98634106>no real clue what punk actually is beyond a marketable aesthetic. Not that I'm defending the corpo yuppies, but punk pretty much *is* just an aesthetic. When's the last time you saw any "punks" actually fighting for their professed beliefs? When was the last time it worked? They're largely just unemployed junkies gathering to talk about how they'll definitely get around to tearing down the regime, any day now.
>>98634230I know, Shark. Its just really funny you mention that when I said something very similar this morning >>98631529 .>>98634329I would definitely focus on the physical ones like Armored Hide, Beserker, Bestial Mutation, Bulky, Devour, Enchanced Attribute (I do not recommend this for Strength), Environmental Resistance, Hazardous Breath, Natural Weaponry, and Unnatural Strength. Some of these powers have permanent and drastic alterations to your body so if you prefer still having a humanoid silhouette, I would ask your ST if you can take the Hidden Power merit.
oh boy we're doing this again

The entirety of the Charlie the Unicorn series is set in the Far Dreaming.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKd_2vqPrmU
>>98633275>>98634121I don't mean any offense by what I'm about to say, but something's genuinely nagging at me about your game. Your character got his shit rocked twice by the dice, and both times the ST basically saved you via fiat. The first one I can kind of understand (oWoD's damage and soak system occasionally creates these ludicrous situations where someone gets demolished by something they should realistically tank, one of my least favorite parts about the system), but the handwaved heal aggravated power is a bit much already. It's not my table, and if you're having fun god bless, but I have to ask do you even get a sense of accomplishment when your victory seems preordained by the ST?
>>98634106"Punk" was always bought and paid for. Culture necessitates backing patrons; you don't print millions of CDs, make millions in merch, promote new genres and release major franchises without being a part of the institution. If someone's filling out a tax form and you get it in a box it wasn't punk to begin with, and ultimately every "counterculture" stems from exactly that. The reason WoD has puttered out is because the writers are shit and the content they make is ass, as is the case with most of the stuff that was labelled punk back when it was still in vogue.
>>98634495Well the sniping was overtly gratuitous. I feel like ST wanted to give a “warning” shot and push us into a sense of urgency with the Assamites. The fact that the Dice Gods REALLY wanted to fuck up Shark wasn’t planned. He probably just wanted to hurt him, then Shark would have healed by eating corpses. Plus it was already established that there were 3 characters that could heal aggravated in our expedition. Rasputin, obviously. Then there’s Maria, who mostly don’t want to use her powers unless she is causing chaos. And there’s a third dude who just never reveal his powers and is all mysterious. My guess is KarlFor my eventual resurrection, like Spider-Man could attest…>Everybody gets oneThe other members of the group also have a single “brought back to life” in store. The only caveat is that they lock you narratively in the super evil storyline. Shark must fulfill the role of Beast-of-War or terrible stuff will happen. It just so happens that it’s exactly what he wants to do.The real safety net though was Shark being able to kill at least one person per week for over a decade in the same city. BEFORE the Sabbat took over. IC and OOC he had many things going that helped him doing something as ludicrous as that, but it’s clear that in most other chronicles Shark would be dead.So do I get a sense of accomplishment when victories seem preordained by the ST? I guess so. Nothing seems as planned as it seems. Wins are not handed freely and so assuredly. Look at Mathilda. If we weren’t there she would have been dust by now. The gangrel boss I fought was literally a coin toss on who win. I got lucky with the initiative. I debated with myself and chose a strategy that could have failed spectacularly and resulted in heavy injuries. All to counter his actions. And despite building myself as a diablerie machine I failed miserably. Even when losing badly the contest rolls my heart was racing with excitement.
Also I wanted to add that we all felt that Shark’s death was anticlimactic. No fight. No drama. No story developing. Just one stupid move and dice making him eat shit.I did told the ST that while his way of dying bothers me, Shark dying doesn’t. Quite frankly when I made the character almost a year ago it was with the express purpose that he’ll die. Most likely being hunted down. I literally thought that he wouldn’t last more than 5 to 8 sessions. I guess that it shows that we all grew attached to our psychotic cannibal friend.
Studios or groups I think would be best for World of Darkness or Chronicles of Darkness games.>Changeling the Lost: Ice Pick Lodge, leaning towards The Void.>Werewolf the Apocalypse: Team Ninja in full Ninja Gaiden mode.>Mage the Ascension: ATLUS>Hunter the Vigil: Frictional Games>Geist the Sin Eaters: Grasshopper Studios>Wraith the Oblivion: Remedy>Promethean The Created: Ghost Story Games>Mummy The Ressurection: Telltale GamesThere’s a lot of variables
>>98634667>Mage: The Ascension>ATLUSAnon imma need your rationale here
>>98634677Weird belief systems and bizarre worlds.Honestly I can’t really think of a good one because there’s nobody at all I can think of who might be able to get their magic remotely right
>>98634687One thing I mentioned in a previous thread is that I think in order to properly do Mage you'd basically have to dedicate the entire game(or games) to specific tradition/crafts/conventions. Like for example if you make an Void Engineer game you just go turbo autistic with the ''science'' magick system according to THEIR paradigm on the player side of things
>>98634693That’s just it.It’s too complicated to do without a total sandbox
>>98634687>>98634693Imo the only way to feasibly do a Mage game is if you either have it be a story about a specific Tradition and flesh that out, or have only pre-built characters with a large assortment of RotesThe level of customization required for a true Mage video game would be an insane amount of work to the point where I don't think it'd actually be feasible
>>98634667Asura's Wrath: but Mage and oodles of possible variations stemming from failed QTEs
>>98634708I mean, it's probably the best if we keep it simple
>>98634710>Asura's WrathWe're talking games, not shitty movies.
>>98634725What
>htp fan explaining to me why leopold is superior to both technocracy and tradition mages
>>98634773didn't the leopolds just eat shit in that?
>>98634778Yes, I think he's trying to mock the people who are mad at how comically inept the Leopoldites are in that show. Why, I'm not quite sure. Most of my screeds about it have mentioned that the SoL has weaknesses and blind spots, but that their depiction in HtP is absurd and worse, unengaging.
>>98634778They injected Bane juice
>>98634798no I unironically just experienced this interaction because htp hasn't powerwanked mages yet,
>>98634835Okay now I need details because how the fuck does anyone, even with zero knowledge of mage (I'm hardly a paragon there myself) does someone come to the conclusion that the SoL is superior to a wet paper bag, let alone the major factions of a major splat, based on their insanely poor performance in HtP?
>>98634844it was on this wod13 offshoot that had playable SoL that suddenly saw an influx of players due to HtP and somehow complaints that the SoL was massively metagaming by rushing silver bullets and targeting garou before the vampires shifted to how SoL should in theory be okay with catholic lone garou/vamps and celestial chorus and then I legit heard a convo on how leopold vs chorister would suck for the mage
>>98634870perhabs they are talking about the mod version of the SoL? or are confusing the SoL with the shadow inqusition of old which did make things suck a lot for the choristers as it recasted them from saints to false prophets in the eyes of the common people
>>98634910mage aren't playable yet and I'm pretty sure they are going by second hand, poorly explained knowledge of the setting
>>98634920yeah then i got nothing m8
I call this "Revenant: The Vengeful.">You died. Per-usual. But you're not a Wraith. Not Bound. You're not a Vampire. You seemingly willed yourself back to life by force of sheer hatred for the things that stole your soul away. You don't remember exactly who you were, only that your death was unjust and cruel.>Something in you burns to get even with them. Your ghastly heart no longer pumps blood, but fury instead. Your breath is pure hatred.>To curse them until the end of days, to tear down everything they have.>Do not fight your hatred. You were wronged. Embrace what you've become, and you may yet find peace in the end.The idea is that you're playing as a dead person who's sheer rage at their deaths bought them back as literal spiritual constructs, akin to Onryo. Despite what you might think, this is not like Wraith or Geist. This is more akin to FEAR/Trepang2 but with supernatural powers. You're able to do bullet time and wield guns and shit, and in fact are encouraged to. But to sum it up cleanly.>You are not "Cursed.">You are the curse.>Nobody on your shoulder but you. No Shadow, no evil split self. Just you, what memories you retained, and a LOT of anger at a death you know was cruel and unjust beyond measure.IDK, I thought it sounded nice
>>98632971Sounds like a really fun premise for a campaign, having to fight new clan of techno magickal vampires could be really fun.
>>98634231>Blood Brothers, but actually playable
>>98634870>HtP SoL are too dumb to use silver bullets>But these players immediately rushed silver bullets and started blasting woofniggers with themShockingly based. >how SoL should in theory be okay with catholic lone garou/vamps and celestial chorusOkay yeah they've got no idea what they're talking about. The Society of Leopold's biggest weakness is that they as rote view all supernaturals as the servants of the devil. They only barely tolerate having Jesus-themed sorcery in their ranks. They killed one of their own for trying to minister to the supernatural and turn them to the light, so it'd be extremely out of character for them to fuck with monsters claiming to be catholic. No clue about the whiteroomer, both unsurprised and sad to see that kind of shit is common outside of this general.
>>98634928looks like a live fast die young sort of splat where character are meant to last only one or two sessions max.
Attributes and skills above 5 don't do anything special right? So someone with melee of 6 just has extra dice but no other abilities?
