>>98627680I meant "No Contest" in the literal sense (as in there is no contest, a fight, occurring). You are technically correct, though.
>>98627216>No one even posted itI mean, someone was making a setting rentry with rules and a bit of lore, so I assumed they would also post the cyoa when it was ready. Speaking of the rentry, I noticed it was shadow updated but I'm not sure I saw all the changes.>>98627530>>98627656So we have 2 vampires and 2 experiments in the works? Maybe I should balance it out with something else.
>>98627953All Other races now get the same number of choices, and mortal hunters get one extra item. I was writing the lore bits but something came up and since there's a big storm and there will probably be blackouts I just saved the rentry as it was.I think, besides the two vampires, we had an experiment, a werewolf and a slayer.
>>98627166This one seems like a pain in the ass to figure out because neither favor direct force. I think it's mostly down to A-M's Purification and maybe its Biomancy merge. Idolatress should have immunity to A-M's fight enders via Nullification, but does it get worn down over time or is it free and always active?
>>98628017Sounds like they both have some rivalry potential
>>98627980>All Other races now get the same number of choicesGood to know, I thought I imagined that.> I was writing the lore bits but something came up and since there's a big storm and there will probably be blackouts I just saved the rentry as it was.I didn't see that part. I like the setting, we even have the Appalachians nearby. I write my stuff in a word document before putting it on rentry to avoid stuff being lost if somethig happens, I lost too much stuff to a misclick to risk it.> think, besides the two vampires, we had an experiment, a werewolf and a slayer.Right. The new rules make the experiment a lot more tempting, so I'm going to think about it a bit more.
>>98628111Experiments don't get relics though
>>98628138They don't? Don't all races get a relic? Even the mortals do.
>>98627216Can I get the same power more than once if multiple subspecies have it and do they stack?
>>98628154Some Others, Psychic, Mages and experiments don't have any text indicating that you get a relic, while others do. It's weird.>>98628199I'd say it depends on the power.
>>98628199I'd say yeah if they do something different and just share a name(all the manifest wings and elemental form stuff) but no if they're basically the same(haste with the vampires)
>>98628209Also we should probably note where we're getting an ability from since names repeat a lot there
>>98628017Hmm... if you give them prep time it becomes hard to gouge the outcome. But if you shoved them in a closed room I would probably say Idolatress due to nullification as All-mothers main heavy hiter attacks come from the symbiote so can be nulified and all of Idolatress minions will spawn with nullification. Unless All-mother has a way to take out idolatress quickly in a prolonged fight Idolatress will probably outlast her as biomancy has high Entropy cost, while the others nature was reduced to low Entropy.
>>98628209>haste with the vampiresNta, but I got curious. Which haste is faster? One says you can run on water, one says you leave afterimages, and one says you move at barely supersonic speeds. Personally I would say that afterimages would require more speed than running on water, but they all feel supersonic to me. Also Divine speed sucks compared to all the others, I'm not sure how fast gale winds go, but unlike the rest it doesn't give you the dexterity to use that speed in combat. And where does Pursuit from the werewolves stand in all of this?
>>98628222Yea, and some do different things. Vampire telekinesis gives the same power as you and same dexterity, Demon telekinesis is double power and dex but half range.
>>98628251Pursuit << Haste (Vampire) < Haste (Yokai) << Velocity (Dragon) is my take, but it can depend on the other powers and interactions
>>98628251>Run on water70 mph>AfterimagesN/A, afterimages are something that exists purely in the viewer's vision due to the quirks of human eyesight. This can't be scaled.>Speed of sound770+ mph>3.5x average human run speed30 mph, faster if sprinting>Gale winds40-50 mphDragons are an absurdly large outlier.
>>98628279Pretty sure wolf form pursuit is faster than vampire haste but still lacks the dex buffOtherwise yeah>>98628302Pursuit scales on the average speed for their current form
>>98628313>Pursuit scales on the average speed for their current formYou're right, a werewolf sprinting in wolf form should reach 140+ mph. Divine Speed is twice gale speed too, so fallen can hit 80-100 mph.
>>98627216>NameLunienne/Lucy Duval>RaceVampire>BreedNoble>PowersNoble: Haste, Blood Rituals, Grand Design, SecretsKnight: DetectivePeasant: MediumFae: Hypnotic Beauty>JobDemon Contract>RelicRunestonesA young Vampire Noble and participant in the program. By vampire standards she's very young, being only in her twenties in human years. Ironically for a vampire, she has a remarkably sunny disposition being sociable, confident and naturally charming, helped considerably by her unnatural beauty. She is blessed with supernatural intuitive talent and an exceptional mind for intrigue, as well as talented in blood magic and mediumship. Lucy joined the program because she sees it as a rare opportunity to live among and familiarize herself with many different kinds of Others. Given her talents and natural charm, she expects to eventually occupy some manner of diplomatic role within vampire society and considers the experience invaluable preparation. She isn't particularly bothered by the program's rules about feeding either; blood is hardly one of the more difficult needs to accommodate discreetly. She is currently aiming to become a participant representative. As far as Lucy is concerned, it's only natural for Nobles to lead. Of course she wasn't born a vampire, but she was raised by vampires until she became an adult, and then turned (a common practice among pompous nobles wanting to play house), so she has never been part of normal human society.

>>98628205>Some Others, Psychic, Mages and experiments don't have any text indicating that you get a relic, while others doUh, good to know I guess. It's something to consider but not that big a deal.
>>98628209>I'd say yeah if they do something different and just share a nameI guess that's fair. Makes me wonder how to handle the werewolf power, since it has a different name, but I guess it just counts as all the same.>>98628222I was already doing that, but it's a good reminder. Builds are pretty short anyway so there is not character limit problems.>>98628279This seems like the intended scale.>>98628302>Dragons are an absurdly large outlier. And the cultists technically, unlike the experiments they can take dragon powers.>>98628361I would count psychic but not mages. Because mages use a different point system but psychics have the normal picks. But for the MP probably not.
>>98628205>>98628154Isn't it because they were released afterward and thus their pages are after the relics page?
>>98628779Well you see, Hunters were also relased after but the hunter little story does mention the old man giving you a relic. It could just be a space problem, or a rush job, but there is no blurb at the end there.
>>98628331If we put hybrid form speed as the average between human and wolf then that puts Pursuit higher than vampire haste.
>>98627216I think I managed to make a decision, so my build will be ready by tomorrow, hopefully. I will go with werewolf in the end, both to round out the roster and because it fits a bit better.

He survived an attack from an Other, and found his mentor when preparing to hunt own the creature that almost killed him. He was always much more academically than physically inclined, being a classic nerd, skinny, bespectacled and relatively weak, but when the mark manifested itself he became almost preternaturally gifted physically, as well as equipped with several abilities fit for hunting the creatures of the night. Inside he hasn't changed much though, which have translated surprisingly well into hunting.Thomas still attends university and works part-time at his mentor's shop, attempting to maintain something resembling a normal student life around hunting. His initial attitude toward Others is notably unsentimental. He is deeply skeptical of the night program. From his perspective, gathering dozens of predatory creatures together is an insane experiment waiting to become his problem. Thomas still considers Others monsters and makes no apology for hunting those that indiscrimitately prey on people, but has increasingly accepted that being a monster does not automatically mean someone needs killing.

>>98633821I'd recommend not leaning too hard towards either if possible. Personally I wrote my build fluff on the casual side but when writing I was planning to frame the wolrd a bit more on the horror side.Comedy coming from build interactions is more fun imo.
>>98633821I think most people wanted a bit of both. There wasn't that much definitive discussion, but nobody complained about a balance instead of complaining about every time we approached either extreme so that's the best we can get.I'm planning to try and balance it out, when I get out of choice paralysis that is, as I think that's the cool thing about this kind of setup. The Adams can get pretty scary too in implications as well, it's just usually blunted a bit by the complete lack of consequences.Anyway, it sounds like a fun build you're making, almost like a school nurse.>>98633839>Comedy coming from build interactions is more fun imo.The contrast kinda makes it more fun, but I need to hold back otherwise I'm going to end up with a comedy instead.

I mentioned Ra specifically once before as a match up that he'd struggle with compared to someone like Bastion as Plasma and Fire can easily overpower Heat Immunity. They are a bit of a glass cannon though, and if Powerhouse is given an opportunity to ramp up through Inner Power for Speed or Strength, Ra wouldn't have many options outside their outstanding offense. That is assuming Ra doesn't use Final Explosion right out the gate before Powerhouse even has a chance to pull off Transformation or a lightning bolt. All those Elemental powers have medium entropy though, so in a drawn out battle Powerhouse should be able to win as long as he manages to not let Ra's flight take the lead and tires him out... but that's how losers think. If Powerhouse can't win through pure power, then he might as well be known as Loserhouse. Or Loserrentedapartment, and that's too much of a mouthful, so he can't afford to lose.>>98624624Feel like I shouldn't shove every response I want to make into one post, but if the tierlistmaker anon is around, I humbly request you use the true transparent png in my latest >>98606789 build because the checkerboard has been haunting me. She was shuffled from orphanage to orphanage before school ''Recruiters'' picked up on stories of a creepy bird kid and tracked her down. She has grown up not far from campus in Calder under their care. It is alltogether a dull and boring life she has lived. But it need not be where her tale ends, for that same blood that curses her to never be alone granted her magick beyond the realm of many Other Races. The breadth if not the depth of her arkane knowledge is impressive and extensive. She just needs to learn how to interact with other people, or 'People' as the case may be with her newfound classmates. She enjoys reading outdoors and rainy autmn nights. Will she still just be the weird bird kid doomed to be unpopular forevermore? Or will she make some friends and worry ...Never More.
