Apprentice isn't needed, in fact i don't think that card ever saw use. You're using curtain to e-tele the vanilla, grab gaze/the souls engine, and if that gets negated you still got a body and can contact fuse dark magician of destruction for another gaze search.

I don't, dark magician simply isn't a budget deck. Curtain is $20 (3-of), gaze $50 and DMoD $100, and i'm pretty sure soul servant is still a $10 card (also a 3-of), so is the new dark magician.

Sell your cards and build something else, it's fucking dark magician after all, the deck is not going to win you a lot of games despite the CaCs it just got.

They really do need to allow for custom games of some sort even if only official events they've made.
User made ones would be nice but I already know how that would look. It will just be "NO HANDTRAPS, [every ED summoning type], SUMMONING 5+ TIMES, NEGATES (except my le epics ones), QUICK EFFECTS, ..." and even if you meet them they will leave in the first minutes because you didn't play exactly how they wanted.

Genesys currently has a 75% win rate going first. It might be better than Advanced's 97% but it's still completely unacceptable for a card game.

Honestly the funniest idea I heard to fix the meta was tennis rules, make it so you need to win two games in a row to actually win a match. So every deck has to be able to play going first and second.
In the immediate term nobody is going to win a match of YGO because everyone will time out but historically YGO's playerbase has always been able to adapt to time rules, even the ones the entire community thought were retarded and wouldn't work, so it would be interesting to see.

The fact that a match could go on forever by the going first player (a role that will swap each round in a match) winning over and over means this is a failed concept from the get. We don't have infinite time to match the theoretically infinite rounds.
The other issue is that you're asking for players to move/concede as fast as possible so they can fit as many games as possible into 50 minutes. Playing even more like "compare hands". That's going to be miserable to play.

I dunno what to really do beyond that that isn't completely fucking degenerate as soon as it leaves its sandbox. The idea was to have it so you could summon Sky Slime Reactor to your opponent's field multiple times and trigger Slifer's effect to destroy it, emulating what happened to Strings in the anime to a non-infinite capacity, but it would just turn into a deepdraw strategy at that point (which doesn't work in the real game).

Thankfully neither card is useful in onomat.
>magician is a worse extender than ganbara, in a deck that doesn't need more gas, and who forces you to xyz right away into certain archetypes
>magician girl is meant to be used if you get handtrapped to shit, BUT there are no good R4NKs that you'd want to summon in the opponent's turn besides tornado dragon and bagooska (who's most likely getting banned next, as it didn't get reprinted in the lunalight structure)
The new utopia looks interesting however; 5k beater that can only go down in battle with another number, turns any monster into a near indestructible wall (DO NOT banish it with S:P please) and steals a monster to keep running over things. It's not as versatile as full armored or even utopia the lightning to clear boards, but it won't hurt to keep a copy just in case.
