I'd say that it depends on the way the cult is run. Dogma, Machine and Science offer a lot of variety. Extreme examples could include a terror group that's wiping people out under the banner some ideology. In reality, they're removing opposition for a company to move there in 5 years and build a server farm or something equally weaverish. Followers of the machine could be actively expanding the military industrial complex and testing weapons on anything that stands in the weavers way. Science could range from mad scientists trying to optimize the spread of weaver taint through the population to eliminating any and all shifters from ever being born. The more subtle ones would offer more opportunities for the socially-orientated tribes shine.

Putting focus on investigation would be ideal. These aren't Pentex subsidiaries, they're not tied to one massive conglomerate. You could have groups that seemingly have no ties to eachother and their goal couldn't be more different but the actions of group A prop up group B. Results could be instant or only be visible 5 years down the line. Imagine your group investigating some local pentex subsidiary. Everything should be going well for pentex, as usual. Instead, they're running into problems without your interference. Why is that? You do some digging and see that [insert group] is heavily tainted (weaver). The weaver is usually hand-off unless it's something important so it might be worth seeing what they're doing. Their goals can be their own or they're trying to do the same thing pentex was going to do but with a weaverish spin on it.

At least Cipatli is very clearly the Wyrm, being an eldritch horror which is also the earth itself and needs to be constantly fed blood. Could make a nice parallel to Apophis/Ra with Huitzilopochtli being Set-flavored and fighting it

They are just one of the main examples of how you can't keep a hunter normal for longer series.
There's very little you can do to sell the idea of a mortal character winning again people with actual powers, WOD has too many "fuck baseline humans" powers with the major splats.

i once did a comparision between the 1818 and 1831 version in college like... 10 years ago and there isn't that much of a difference between the 1818 and 1831 version

Elizabeth is Viktor's cousin in one version and the daughter of a friend's familly in another

1831 has a better introduction added by mary shelley while the 1818 has one by Percy that is kinda wooden

some punctuation/grammar mistakes are fixed in the 1831 version and the language is slightly more modern (for the time), but there are 1818 fan who consider this a downside because the 1818 version did not have a editor (and i am one of those fans)

if you really want the most authentic gothic horror experience i would recommend you read the introduction of the 1831 version and then switch to 1818 version

To be fair, Most powers also have another poqer somewhere else in the book that removes those drawbacks. You can avoid the regeneration super-cancer by taking immunity(cancer) or the life extending power.

That's the temptation of the wyrm. It's 100% possible to carefully balance your powers and obligation perfectly enough to get everything you ever wanted and have no debts or drawback at the end. However, good fucking luck getting there.

Yep. Just like how they cancelled the entire Chronicles line-up. As much as it's fans like Chronicles, they aren't even a fraction of a shadow of classic wod's former fanbase.

It used to be D&D had one or more bookshelves in every bookstore, WoD had one or more bookshelves in any bookstore, and then every other TTRPG combined had a bookshelf. VtM 2e used to be required reading when hollywood made vampire movies like Blade. Large bands like slipknot had lyrics about pentex, bone gnawers, and the black hand in their songs.

Do you think HTR would be more popular if, whenever it gets redone, they essentially fuse Hunters Hunted with it and pull a vigil with the tactics mechanics and the endowments? With the imbued being a weird conspiracy with ultra developped emdowments?
