Why does GW insist on not having cross compatibility with HH models? Don't they realize that is how you get HH players. I would update detachments and the main units of each faction right away so everyone gets new toys at once, and then I would smooth out the rest of each book in chunks together. It's not actually necessary to have this situation where everything is at once, so some people are waiting up to a year or two. As a Sob and Agents player I know I'm going to be waiting over a year. It's just not necessary. They're rules, not models, you can make and then release them whenever and however you want. And you can even do the codex releases the same now so you have revenue bumps throughout the year, and the codecies are just art and fluff mostly because everyone's rules have been updated over time already. Hey I posted this in the wrong thread. Total beginner here. I've just been doing up some of the smurfs that came with the paint set. Teh Maccragge blue looks amazing on a chaos black undercoat. I did a few DA in caliban green and they don't look even close to as good. The blue has a bit of a matte finish that looks really cool and the green looks a little shiney. Not like armour at all. Is there an easy fix for this to make DA look a bit more matte and a bit more weathered?

Aspect Warriors jumping out of grav tanks, guardians holding the line while different specialists handle their specific tasks, the Avatar sometimes as an anchor. Exarchs being absolute blenders in 9th. It was all about going fast and hitting hard. The only really unfluffy thing has been how common the Phoenix Lords have been in 10th, but they've basically taken the role Exarchs had in 9th as the supercharged Aspect baddie. In 11th, eldar is still suffering from the nerfs in 10th, and the detachments that most fit their most common fluff style are both 3DP and just not very well suited for how 11th operates. Eldar are excellent at playing the Recon disposition, but Warhost as a detachment just isn't strong enough to actually be a 3DP, and Aspect Host started out as Disruption which is just ass all around. Also transports (especially large ones like the eldar tanks) are way worse in 11th, which also hurts the fluffy playstyle of eldar.

While we are venting about armies being ruined by edition rules changes, I'm tired of Dark Eldar being totally dependent on transports while transport rules get changed to make them more lethal to one wound models. I'm still mad that all of our transports lost an invuln save in an edition where everyone else's defenses got better. Or that our covens units lost a toughness in an addition where everyone else's toughness went up. I'm mad that our infantry got slower and lost advance and charge for all but Wyches while every other Army in the game got faster. I'm mad that our weapon strength did not get stretched any higher besides dark lances and our poison stopped working on swarm, mounted, and monster units. And I'm still mad that every bulky or utility unit we had in the army got deleted because they were made of resin and they never got around to updating them while other armies got to keep some of their resin models in their codexes and still have them to this day. I'm already tired of throwing every single unit away to try to deny enemy scoring only to lose to a 30-point swing at the end of the battle.

A recent example of where this could use a clarification is Da Boss in the new Ork codex. Bought the new ork warboss after a large hiatus from the hobby. Why did GW shrink the head of the warboss? The kit is miserable to put together, random shapes that fit together to make the whole. To convert the model i have to basicallly build it and then saw off parts i want to swap. Join lines for the face, the focal point of the miniature are on parallel sides of the jaw leaving massive seem lines that need filled and filed. Kit is so expensive you dont really want to cut it up anyway incase you fuck it up. Guess i will only be buying from Russian recasters in the future, fuck you GW.

This is already what an armor save represents, but we're already deviating from lore/flavor with all of these anyway. Or fluff it as the Emperor curved the bullet away from a vital organ the first time. Again, this is already what their army wide invuln represents, but whatever. This would make transports less lethal for them, which is currently an issue for anyone running Repentia or similar units.Option 3:Everything is the same, but all infantry is reduced by like 20%-30% in points costs. Battleline is 70 instead of 100, Dominions 65 instead of 90, etc. To balance things you either make things strong/tougher or you make them cheaper. With everyone getting better this makes sense and is probably the easiest/least effort.Option 4:Keep everything mostly the same, maybe very slight reduction in points, and just make their army wide special rule invuln save a 5+ instead of a 6+. This remains fluffy since it's already a thing you're just making it better, and it stays with their identity instead of changing it.Option 5:Keep things mostly the same stat wise and cost wise, but massively buff what faith dice do. Complete overhaul. Like spend a faith point to give the entire unit full rerolls, or spend a faith point to stand entire units back up. Make the Faith system actually really strong. Make it feel like these guys are doing legitimately wacky and powerful Emperor fueled tricks. Make Faith points easily as strong as CommPoints. Make more special rules like Vahl's where you can discard points to power up stuff, but make it even more impactful than her's.

Normally it's up to 1 leader and/or up to one support.A hospitaller doesn't do much for the regular battleline unit.Celestine alone usually does fine, or with zephyrim for their charge special rule is also good. With Seraphim is fine but in my experience the other two arrangements are slightly better.Otherwise looks fine.

A captain would absolutely deploy where the enemy ork warboss has been spotted to make sure he gets taken down, for example. When the solvent has evaporated you can blend brushstrokes away with a soft makeup brush but you have way too much on here >>98652169 to do even that. If you see brushstrokes remain on the palette when you're thinning then you'll have brush strokes on the model too.
