That movie was the first time in Godzilla history where the franchise showed explicit nudity because in the background of one scene an erotic poster of a girl with her tits out slipped past the film crew and they didn't notice until the movie was already out. Also that poster is fucking amazing but it was straight up a fucking lie to try to sell the movie in America because Godzilla vs Megalon takes place entirely in Japan and all the fights happen in the rural mountains of top of that, no urban fighting whatsoever. Good movie, I recommend it

Godzilla vs Megalon was the one movie I was never, ever, able to find in a rental store. My dad's buddy let me watch the first half hour or so once when I was a squirt and they wanted me to fuck off for a spell, but it wasn't until like 2020 when I randomly found the entire movie on YouTube before the jews started curbing that sort of thing.

The Showa movies do a fantastic thing (I always contributed it as a Japanese thing but I suppose I don't know for sure) where the main cast were random nobodies that just get roped into the plot by some bullshit and commit for the whole film. Godzilla vs Gigan is my favorite example: the cast is a failing newspaper comic artist, his librarian sister who knows karate, and two Woodstock hippies. Even when you have more traditional "urban adventure" archetypes like cops or journalists there's that little tweek that turns them into nobodies. Like in Ghidorah the cop is just a beat cop that got pressured into doing some OT, and the journalist is a lame magazine writer. The American movies are held back by characters that have to have the dramatic backstory and the tragic past that just isn't necessary and bogs down the film.

Uh.../30kg/ how would you translate that into the BL character fest?

Not really?
Infantry are stupidly small targets for a knight and hitting them should be difficult because
a. it's blindingly obvious when the knight starts swinging
b. infantry have plenty of time to get out of the way of a 1 ton chainsaw
c. the knight has to judge its swing and not get half of its chainsword stuck to the ground
Rats and other small animals can't parry human attacks, doesn't make it easy to hit one with a stick
>>98664918
I'm pretty sure there's a Reaction for that, though it's kind of difficult to use and I do agree that it should really just be a melee weapon or at least not have a Reaction cost

Not to mention scale like that you don't need to worry about getting a reaper stuck in the ground; it will cleave through terrain without slowing though sheer force and mass.

It's also like hitting a teddy bear sized target with a chainsaw, because marines are shin height. Surely you can swing a chainsaw the height your shin with no issue?

This concept reminds me of the ambush and convoy missions from epic.

As per my post in the last thread I'm genuinely shocked that the Garmon Cluster supplement for Ligma not only recreates pretty faithfully the Ambush and Planetary from Epic 40,000 (Epic 3rd edition) but a bunch of new missions with unique and fluffy objectives/setups. They could be from Fanatic magazine.

I'm genuinely shocked, I thought if you showed this kind of creativity and focus on fun narrative play instead of boring tournament 3 evenly spaced objectives missions GW would fire you out of a cannon towards Doncaster

Please reconsider. I was outraged at Fists being non-competitive yet again. "How can hammers be faster and weaker than fists? As if they were lighter!"
So I just flipped the profiles: Power Fists is S7 i-2, Hammer is S8 i-3.
The profiles suddenly make sense that way lmao, Fist being good vs TEQ, Hammer being soecialized overkill that you take for bigger more monstrous stuff.

True but I'd rather believe other than the official nonsense peddled by BL. They are of similar stars after all, Gal Vorbak and Custodes, right?

>>-1D Critical Hit (4+) on disintegrators
Why not just have them be AP2? Whoever you firing disintegrators at, either they had a 3+ save and it already doesn't matter, or they have an Invuln and can take it. Especially EW custodes
>>Dreads and skimmers can always use Heavy (X)
Please not Dreads. Infantry doesn't get to walk with stabilized heavy bolters, neither should Dreads, which move in a pretty similar way.
I reckon skimmers will mean 24" S9 multi-meltas, but I guess that's what they're paying for?
>>Basically using 2.0 vehicle movement
I assume this means:

That was before they became GV, but later on they do kill 4 custodes with just a dozen GV so that's a pretty impressive ratio.

>>98664835
>able to give up Duellist's Edge on charnabals for improved breaching and a unique gambit
Depends on whether you'll keep charnabals as chainsword equivalents or as PW alternatives.
As PW alternatives, Breaching X plus speed tweaks works well for Sabres, Tabars and Glaives.
As chainsword equivalents, maybe they are fine. Fine as CCWs and chainswords go, that is x.x
>>
>>98665413
I think Custodes vs anything is lopsided enough that all legions can have their own fluffy (or funny) way of getting a kill.
Unpossessed Word Bearers would probably rush them and get torn to pieces, but they would try disarming them by hugging their weapon as it impales them.
Then a True Believer would charge with kraks in hand yelling "BY HIS WORD" and blow up on top of the Custode, tripping him.

I was thinking about those Exemplary Battles units again this morning.
If you were having a friendly game and "homemade" units were allowed, what would be the best way to balance them? Increased points cost?
>>
>>98664977
>While you're at it, I'll gladly hear some power sword ideas too.
Considering we are allowed neither rerolls (no parry) nor bookkeeping (no WS modification), the only way to highlight Power Swords being balanced is +1A.
I mean balanced not as in fairness, but as in the weight of the weapon being concentrated closer to the grip than axes, mauls and polearms do, whose weight lies mostly on the tip, lowering swing RPM.

>>Rending instead of Shred on chain weapons
Problem: against T4 (the most common target), S4 Rending 6 and S5 are identical. So, just give them S+1?
This keeps the "wounds better" theme they had in 2.0 - their old Shred wound rerolls was actually better than S+1: 0.75 vs 0.66.

Crits don't improve your AP unless you also have Breaching. The main objective is reliable wounding (weren't they supposed to be monster killers?) and to make them base D1 so Vets don't instantly die to Overload.

You do have a point on Dreads on reflection, they're already stupidly tough. I guess I'm channeling 1.0 too hard.
>>98665457

>>98665416
I want to push them back up to 10pts like power weapons, so yes, I'm treating them as power weapons. You cannot have a weapon that only works in a challenge in an edition where dual wielding for +1A isn't a thing anymore. The simpler solution would be just going back to Breaching (5+), but I thought there were more interesting ways of going about it.

>>
>>98665618
>I'm doing this because the thunder hammer being faster makes it the dominant meta choice.
Okay? Its the dedicated "for killing marines" weapon, worse at everything else than the power fist but better in that specific situation than it.

D3 power fists would be retardedly OP, both breaking the custodes matchup (where they now get 1shot), invalidating character combat for lower tier characters (guess how many wounds a centurion has) and still not changing anything for what weapon you take on your terminators 99% of the time.

Both power fists and thunder hammers already have their niche, hammers just have their niche be "combat vs people with power fists".
>>
>>98665403
>Why not just have them be AP2?
Because VEQ killing weapons is an acceptable niche for a weapon system to have.

The biggest current issue facing disints is that their low S means they suck at wounding, which makes them not actually that good even vs things they should be good against.

They arent (and shouldnt be) the "kill everything ap2 guns", because thats not a weapons type you can have be common and accessible in this sort of game.

Frankly critical hits is also probably a mistake. Simply keep their current stats and give them rending for some value of X, which accomplishes the same effect while not devaluing the special rule.
>>
>>98665683

>The simpler solution would be just going back to Breaching (5+), but I thought there were more interesting ways of going about it.
True, but "simple" is this edition's key word (even though gimmicks exist lol).
I do believe making charnabal weapons be breaching 5+ would be the way to make them exist outside only challenges. All get Breaching 5+, then they differentiate from one another by details:
Sabre gets i+1, Tabar gets S+1 & Duellists Edge instead (so it's the slow one), Glaive gets i+1 plus Duellists Edge and S+2 but -1A. Or D2 but -1A.
You know, like chainfists, which are deadlier fists balanced by being more cumbersome. That's the precedent. And it requires no gimmick, so it works outside of duels (and stacks with proper gimmicks).

I do request Charnabal Tabars to be AP4 where the others are AP5 though. This is entirely a Legend of the Galactic Heroes thing.
It'll matter for Veletarii, currently the only sarge with access to a Tabar
>>
>>98665618
>weren't [Disintegrators] supposed to be monster killers
I can't recall any monster that was vulnerable to instant death - both dreads and cortex automata were hardened against it.
2.0 Disintegrators seemed like an anti-heavy infantry weapon to me. Essentially a plasma weapon that doubled down on antiVEQ/TEQ: less Str that made it harmless against vehicles like plasma could incidentally be, but unconditional AP2.
>>
>>98665618
>I'm doing this because the thunder hammer being faster makes it the dominant meta choice
All I can offer you is to turn Fists (which are more common and available to all sarges) into the meta choice. As I said, I don't have issue with Hammers being relegated as a specialist weapon...which is what I hear they used to be. Remember they used to be essentially Concussive Fists in 1.0 where nothing a hammer hit would survive to suffer concusive in the first place.
>I'm serious when I ask you this, have you voluntarily taken fists over hammers after 2.0 came out?
If my local meta used T6-T7 critters like Dreads and especially Automata, which just became immune to Krak, yes I would.

I wonder if S8 i-3 can counter Saturnines. I think they are the new Contemptors: it's folly to even think of meleeing them - the ring is theirs.

no, they don't. They're bodyguards and warriors capable of being fielded as an army. As they did in 30k.
They're not supossed to be just standing around like in 40k
The ONLY good thing about their new minis is that they finally gave them cloaks.
Everything else is a downgrade: Huge cartoon weapons, spears without triggers, static poses, feminized bodies, pencil neck girly faces... the list goes on.

This is a massive improvement, sorry.

The triggers are cool in still art, until you try and think about how the weapon would actually be used for one second and realize theyre retarded and cant work.

The scifi bulshittium neural links or gene triggers or whatever might be less visually satisfying for a simply aesthetic piece, but they make a lot more sense.

>but yes I think letting the 140pt vehicle move 10" and fire a S12 D6 weapon is a bad idea
I think letting the 40pts jetbike deep strike in with S9 D6 is a bad idea. Or the 60pts speeder with two of those.

The only possible argument against heavy for those units is purely from the "feelies"/"lore" perspective, where anon is big sad his unit doesent get to feel special/thinks those weapons platforms should get to ignore the rules because clearly theyre not infantry and therefore better suited to handling weapons like that.

Both of those arguments apply equally if not more so to vehicles, like the vindicator. And yes, the moving S12 D6 gun IS stupid. That is the point, anon has a retarded idea.

>>98666217
The new minis weapons are retardedly huge, period. Their proportions are just wrong, just like the new marine melee weapons. It's a moronic design that may belong in AoS or WoW, but not with the more grounded aesthetic of this setting
>>98666230
Neural links to fire the spears doesn't mean that they shouln't have also phisical triggers. It doesn't make sense, it makes the weapons look unbalanced, and it breaks their established design.

But of course the real reason behind removing the triggers has nothing to do with a proper design process. It's the same reason that they gave them girlie faces with delicate necks to a bunch of genetically loyal supersoldiers and bodyguard muscle freaks with no free agency of their own
>>
>>98666299

Almost all "futuristic weapons" in sci fi and 40k have triggers. Or mechanisms with buttons to do the same. It's a classic visual cue.
Either the designer is retarded (very possible after seeing all the other minis clearly designed by the same guy), or the only reason to remove them on purpose was a low key IRL political reference.

Yes you moron, because those jetbikes carry longer range weapons and have a 16" movement (and are tougher than the TSS).

TSS in a drop pod SHOULD be the most cost effective way of dropping in melta to shoot someone, because that is the whole point. A unit whos entire job is "cheap way to get special weapons" and a unit whos entire job is "cheap way to DS". A suicidal package at that.

>4chan thinks I'm spamming when I reply to too many people apparently
It's easier to reply multiple times to multiple different ideas instead of compiling everything into a single comment. Easier to read and to follow.

>The idea is to make the disintegrator not 1-shot Vets on Overload
There's a reason why Disintegrators used to be Destroyer issue - they are inherently risky. But nowadays it's a self hit. It's not much, but at least it still has to wound.
>and wound reliably
S5. It worked okay back then when it was S5 AP2 Rapid Fire (2 shots close).
It won't work as well this time because the targets just increased their Toughness (T5 Cataphractii, T6 Saturnine) or got EW (Custodes). But they are paying extra to not die, so, I'll allow it?
S4 on disintegrators, now that's insufficient. Same with AP3. The only profile that ever threatens is Veterans themselves.

A separate issue, I think Disintegrator availability is a mistake to begin with - Destroyers should have the access Veterans do and vice versa.
But that's a separate thing.

Infiltrating land raiders was too funny to miss out on. And using a spartan to transport laser-destroyer rapiers is still very entertaining.

>How would it be balanced against lightning claw though?
The same way they are now: Lightning Claws are Power Swords with Rending 6 on top of their Breaching.
If I gave power swords A+1, then I'd ought to give claws A+1.
If you have a pair of lightning claws, you'd have A+2.
Paired lightning claws currently ARE A+2, meaning the precedent is right there.
>The problem with giving [Charnabals] Breaching (5+) is that it would make power axes redundant. Unless you'd like to make a suggestion for power axes?
Yes. AP2. Restricting their Breaching helps only T5 2+ save targets – Terminators almost specifically (but also Custodes).
Breaching 5+ Charnabals would bounce off marine's power armour on a 4 to wound, where an axe currently goes through on a 3 to wound up.
If you want to give axes more utility, give them unconditional AP2: it hurts ONLY Terminators and Custodes

It really was funny, I can't believe they let us do that. It's the only reason I can forgive the Death of Dedicated Transports for.

How many MEQ models would be considered 'normal' to own for a 30k player to begin with? I'd assume that 40 would be a baseline for some combination of Tacticals/Despoilers, even if you won't use them all in a single list, and then you got all the specialists which absolutely beefens the number up. Veterans, retinues, heavy weapons, other line units, and so on, that makes me think that number is at least 100 in due time.

>Shattered Legions don't need to use their prime benefit to take legion specific Command/Troops options
>Command because you get relatively limited slots and it's fluffy to have unique legion ones leading a Shattered Legiones element and because the prime benefit doesn't work on the command slot that takes it anyway
>Troops because all this allows is Inductii and shit like Grey Slayers/Terror Squads that are explicitly a staple unit of their legion anyway

>Also Disintegrator Rifles should be AP2 D1 instead of AP3 D2 so they can actually do their job without killing more of their own unit than the target

>>98670854
On one hand I agree because the fluff blurb literally calls out Techmarines as being the main element of that sub-cult, on the other hand being able to attach a Techmarine to ANY plasma TSS or disintegrator VTS and immediately ignore Overload might be slightly OP

>>98670867
It lets them either reduce Overload by 1 when shooting or heal a single wound in their unit.
>>
is the new scale really incompatible with the old one? How bad is the head size difference etc? Are weapons swapable?
>>
>>98670895
>>Also Disintegrator Rifles should be AP2 D1 instead of AP3 D2 so they can actually do their job without killing more of their own unit than the target
Let them be S5 AP2 D2.
Reasons for S5 are that Disintegrators have always been S5, and Terminators became T5.
Reasons for D2 is that many instances of Instant Death and Murderous Strike became D2 or Critical (aka D+1).
>>
>>98670895
>being able to attach a Techmarine to ANY plasma TSS or disintegrator VTS and immediately ignore Overload might be slightly OP
Ecks Dee
Then again, paying like 60 pts to ignore Overload on an AP4 gun. Eh, they already had very good odds.
If players want to pay +33% as insurance, I'd let them.
>>
>>98671013
>Let them be S5 AP2 D2
Based

My main point of flipping the AP and D was currently you lose 20%-180% of the Vet squad when firing as you do the target (which comes out to losing 16.67 points of Vets to kill 41.67 points of basic Marines, 83.33 points of Vets or 13.89 points of Termies)
>10x1/6x1/2=0.83 dead from Overload
>10x5/6x1/2=4.17 dead MEQs/VEQS
>10x5/6x1/3x1/6=0.46 dead TEQs

Instead with my flip you go to losing 10%-60% of the Vets vs the target (coming out to 8.33 points of Vets for 41.67 points of basic Marines and Vets or 20.83-27.78 points of Termies)
>10x1/6x1/2x1/2=0.42 dead from Overload
>10x5/6x1/2=4.17 dead MEQs
>10x5/6x1/2x1/2=2.08 dead VEQs
>10x5/6x1/3x2/3x1/2=0.93 dead Tartaros
>10x5/6x1/3x1/2x1/2=0.69 dead Cataphractii

But if we just go back to the old version like your suggesting we get 20%-53% (coming out to 22.22 points of Vets for 55.56 points of basic Marines, 111.11 points of Vets or 62.5-83.33 points of Termies)
>10x1/6x2/3=1.11 dead from Overload
>10x5/6x2/3=5.56 dead MEQs/VEQS
>10x5/6x1/2x2/3=2.78 dead Tartaros
>10x5/6x1/2x1/2=2.08 dead Cataphractii

And I think I like this better than my fix anyway, even if it does cause a lot of Termicide

>>
>>98671325

>>
>>98668683
We still have those, it's the Disint blaster you get on Veteran HSS and 1/5 on Veteran Tacs
It's just that it's 1 shot now and it's still S5 whereas Terminators went from T4 to T5
>>98668775
That's something I was thinking about too
Flat AP2 would also let the power axe actually benefit from strength buffs but then I'd need to rebalance all of the Legion-specific wargear around AP2 power axes
Also if the power axe gets flat AP2 does it need an IM nerf?
