As has been explained to the paranoid dipshits who try to use these purges as an excuse to be secretive exclusionary faggots about STLs repeatedly, there is no serious organised effort to actually stop STL making and sharing. GW know they don't really have a leg to stand on in many cases and that they can't actually shut this down.

GWHQ have to show The Shareholders that they're Doing Something About The Problem, so they instruct GW Legal to Do Something, and GW Legal get a couple of interns to spend an afternoon once or twice a year searching for stuff and filing DMCA takedowns. That's it. The reason they nuke some stuff and not others is they're not seriously trying to eradicate printing they know that's futile, it's completely performative and utterly random. Anyone knows of a file, even for sale, that has a variety of miniatures? Something that has a good chance appealing to a variety of people.

I am trying to show my colleagues the fun part of painting miniatures, by getting a bunch minis they can practice on for a few hours, while we hang out on the mandatory company team building.
I thought of 3D printed ones, because no fucking way I'll buy expensive Warhammer shit for this, and because I don't know which of them will like what.
Maybe they could be a little bigger than the 28mm standard, so they don't feel bad for messing it up. Or have a few bigger pieces for the impatient ones.

What's the giveaway? Looking at the stls, there's a couple of fucky things like giant lumps that don't fit as details or floating parts, but it looks generally cohesive and normal if very melted and squished looking. GW's prices are greed, they ship in bulk through commercial channels and so their overhead is very low next to some dude on etsy who has to ship individually to every customer through public channels, so their costs, while comparable to GW, are necessary.
Which is why it's stupid to try selling prints.
The main reason to have printed resin instead of HIPS, is cost, so it's stupid to buy it.
It only makes financial sense to do it yourself.

Do my settings look fucked? Saturn 3 ultra with a regular fep. A while back i had an issue where like half the print would fail and the other half would be perfectly fine. I tweaked some settings and printed a diorama set perfectly. since that ive had issues with flat brick wide layers between supports, and some stuff not even attaching to the supports. So I figure ok maybe the fep was stretched after a big bulky diorama. So i change the fep do a new print and still have the exact same issue. Im going to try a new usb tomarrow and see what happens.

I posted a fail a thread or two ago, but it was like the last post. It's funny you mention the screen cause I did the test for shits and gigs and it might actually be that. There's a small splotches on the corner and thin pixiel lines running along the very edge of the top of the width of the screen. There's no good way to get a picture of it that isint dogshit but I'm going to try and reseat the ribbon cable today and hope it's not the screen actually dieing.

Lafig uses sloppa to bulk up his output.
He does two kinds of releases: one are models that he sculpted by hand and then 3d scanned, such as the people of the forest or the gobbos; the other is stuff that never came out in physical form and is all slop. The steps do t lie, scans tend to have a very consistent mesh, with regular polygon spacing regardless of area detail, whilst the ai ones are a lot more random and strange in geometry.
There's another recent slop Kickstarter, Older Minis or something, where they claimed to be scanning, resculpting and modifying old citadel stuff, but all of the renders and printed samples were clearly AI. Boomers love that shit though, they don't care about the blobby detail and fucked up proportion.

This is another angle of my most recent failure. I was going to troubleshoot some more today, but i fucked up and cut myself making lunches today, and had to go get stitches. So thats off the table for a couple days. Bigger FEP means higher chance of failing, suction force is a hard physics limitation.
Are you seriously looking to do terrain in resin instead of FDM? If not, there is no good reason to spend more on bigger, so go for higher fidelity but stick to a small FEP, most plates can handle 6-8 figures at a time and that's plenty.

I currently use cracked Lychee Plus after the devs led ppl on about perpetual licenses being an option, and have stopped pushing old premium features to free tier new updates.
The community auto support profiles you can import for miniatures has worked great.

It's still not as simple as *Click generate supports and you're print ready*.

I've used both ChituBox and Lychee in the past, I'm just more familiar with Lychee and can't stand Chitu's forced updates bs when you're connected to the Internet. Rather use software I don't have to have firewall settings on for each install.

As far as wireless connectivity, Lychee can transfer prints over network to most stuff. There's other programs out there too on Github for transferring your sliced file. I hardly ever bother with it since when I print something, you always end up walking to the printer to start the job anyway (stirring the vat, pouring new resin in, leveling build plate if you've done 8 prints prior, waiting for heaters to bring stuff up to temp, etc) I just transfer the file from the stick to internal storage before printing.

I've seen it done a handful of times. Never tried it myself, instead I've just followed the excellent tutorial on reposing from artisans of vaul. I think I'd only go to the extent of rigging something if I was going to export multiples of it for printing, e.g. a full squad of marines. But I've always had sufficient poses out of the box that I only really need to repose one or two bits to get exactly what I want.

The moderation, yeah, plus imo it's easier to find stuff before it gets pulled, due to their better UI.
Also iirc they give creators a bigger cut of each sale than MMF. And they have made improvements to their library functionality, whereas MMF have massively fucked up the UI of theirs recently.
It's weird, I prefer cults for cutting edge releases from smaller creators, but MMF is much easier to browse entire collections from larger creators for some reason. So I think both have their uses.
