Not sure what teaser image you’re referring to, but I doubt we’re getting anything legion-specific. Those look to be way down the road after everything else gets updated in plastic. But AL are pretty well known for seekers, which seem to be fairly popular in 3.0 currently. Could be getting a those or maybe a dual kit with recon squads as well.

I have a design for what my warhound's parade banner will look like with maybe some tweeks but I keep putting off because if I make a single mistake on the calligraphy or really any design element beyond a tiny touch up I'll have to scrap it and start again. Acetone is a flamethrower type solution and at least on the old paper I used it fucked up the surface finish (haven't tried tried it on my acid free 100 gsm art paper) and I'm wary of trying to scrape stuff off even on heavy paper.

I wish I was an arthoe twink with experience in hectographic duplication and similar processes since I could expose the same plate with each completed part of the design separately then just printing it all onto the paper. It would even let me paint the background first without worrying about it messing with the ink but I've never done it before and it could be a long learning process and rabbithole.

TQ

A sabre would be pretty baller choice but its not a tank and idk if it its even an option for the tank commander.

I swear Orks are still in the background causing trouble in 30k...but daemons and Horus and traitor marines and mankind are a far more immediate threat than any xenos. Especially when Ork Gorro or whatever Ullanor was called was rubble at the time.

I’m a newcomer so I took the Cataphractii bits from the new kit. Technically my first proper kitbash, though all I did was the head swap, plus clipping off the wires and spiked apparatus and sanding it smooth on the top of the armor (plus some putty to fill in the small gap that seemed to create)
>>
>>98690726
I see, that could work, what if you trimmed the neck down? I am kind of tempted to convert him into a traitor Terminator Mortificator, maybe Tartaros since the dude's armor seemingly has more in common with Indomitus despite the intent, but it's probably going to take a bit to de-Chaos trim everything.
>>
>>98690718
It’s my understanding that the orks were basically pushed to the edge of the galaxy and functionally posed no threat to the pre-Heresy Imperium. Sending two Legions after an Ork Empire was seen as massive overkill due to how weak it was in Know No Fear. I don’t they would warrant official rules, unless you progressed REALLY deep into the Scouring.
>>
>>98690732
I had to trim down the neck quite a bit to make it fit. His armor definitely is a mixture of Indomitus and Cataphractii, I was imagining him with fancy late Heresy Artificer Terminator armor from the increasingly twisted forges of the Dark Mech.

Mechbros, should arquitor magisterium be used solo with infiltrate or should they go with some scyllax?
>>
>>98691117
they're quite tanky already and their Gambit is excellent if you just want to stab a bitch early game, but it's overkill if you're killing an enemy Magos or Archmagos because you're probably already negatively affecting their WS

so I would say depending on the enemy and the battlefield, with a preference to infiltrate and just hack shit up, but mindful of the fact quite tanky is not the same as nigh invulnerable when you're out in the open
>>
>>98691135
My idea, if infiltrating, would be to try hide them in some terrain near the enemy, ideally where theyre out of LoS but still close enough to mess with shooting on important pieces.

Then when they can move forwards and tie up some valuable piece in combat, since with their decent durability and aura they should be pretty safe vs admech in melee.

One thing I am concerned about, effectiveness asides, is that "splashing" for one against admech could be seen as a dick move.

How do stat modifiers work with flat stat value weapons.

So say world eaters charge with lascutters, do they make two attacks (1 for the weapon, +1 for the trait) or just 1?
>>
>>98691135
>depending on the enemy and the battlefield
ALWAYS assume WS5 terminators, for the following reasons:
1. 30k is about marines vs marines, so they are the most numerous faction. WS5 2+/5++ or better is their elite warrior statline
2. Worry about what's hard to deal with. If it's not hard to deal with...why worry? Thus, worry about WS5 Terminators.
Using these parameters, also worry about AV14 — nobody's ever struggled with killing a Predator; you just shoot them and they're gone.

it's literally for murdering Mech with, it's just that you can really wade into them and slap the chaff aside with that debuff, but it'll do fine against anything short of a primarch - it's more or less a high-end praetor before you get to boosting Power of the Machine Spirit with a servo-arm so you're hitting at WS8 S7 with your paragon blade while you gently reheat the other guy with your rad furnace

>My antiAV14 options is ONE Vultarax
Yea... that wont cut it. Especially if its a land raider that doesent care if you supress it.
But admech dont have great AT in general this edition. Its the vulturax and the thanatar, and neither do the job alone/in small numbers.

>am I to worry about the easy stuff
It depends on what you have, but possibly yea.

Say you have a vindicator. Big S12 D6 gun. Super spooky right? Can blow a hole through a land raider in one go. But what happens when they have four predators instead? Suddenly your "one big gun" doesent work as well. Or the Kratos, it can snap fire, but the lascannons are often not enough to kill a tank (like a predator) on their own, so its still limited by the number of targets it can effectively engage.
>>
>>98691669
Why are you scared of AV 14 vehicles? None of them kill anything that isn't big vehicles efficiently.
>>
>>98691669
>My anti2+ is Breaching 5+ and massed WS6
I assume you mean scillax? Because I dont know if thats "good enough". 10 of them deal like, 4 wounds to tartaros terminators even if they hit on 3s. Myrmidons do similar.
Domitar might do better? D2 is big, but at 3A per 100pts idk.

Youre admech, just shoot them with massed Ap2.
>>
>>98691717
I don't get the craze about Scyllax. Played against it a couple of times, my deathwing companions still butchered them despite their WS 6.
>>
>>98691689
>it'll do fine against anything short of a primarch
>you're hitting at WS8 S7 with your paragon blade while you gently reheat the other guy with your rad furnace
Bro, that's better than half the Primarchs. Especially with a Thunder hammer, which they do get. Alone or with Automata, Arcuitors can be WS8 BS6 A6 even before PotMS (Prime: Paragon of Battle)
>boosting Power of the Machine Spirit with a servo-arm
I'm not sure you can use a servo arm for that, as PotMS uses your Battlesmith X
>Yeah and Servo Arm increases your Battlesmith X by +1
No. Servo Arm repairs +1W/HP when you use the Repair option of Battlesmith; it modifies nothing.
But +2 to stats (ATTACK) is still okay
>>
>>98690172
inb4 it's just a new resin model for some Black Library Glupp Shitto
>>
>>98691700
>None of them kill anything that isn't big vehicles efficiently.
Half our army is T5 W4 models! That's prime targets for the Kratos fully half of marine lists bring
>>
>>98691696
>Can blow a hole through a land raider in one go. But what happens when they have four predators instead?
Then you go left to right instead of front to back
>>
>>98691740
Well, theyre 25pts for WS5 S5 T5 breaching 5+. They are, genuinely, very cost efficient and will do great into most marine infantry. But they wont (imo) cut it against the truly elite/potent stuff.

Theyre there to kill despoilers and veterans, not terminator command squads (this is also imo true for myrmidons, at least in combat).
>>
>>98691765
And between rolling to hit, wound, and invulnerable saves, it kills around a single one. That's 400 points wasting an entire turn killing one single model only a tiny fraction of its points cost.

At the LGS nobody brings kratos any more, and for good reason. People quickly figured out that the most easy way to deal with a kratos is just ignoring it. Put your big AV transport behind terrain so it can't be shot before moving, and after it moves it's already too late for the kratos to stop what you want the transport to do.
>>
>>98691804
>Put your big AV transport behind terrain so it can't be shot before moving,
The humble fateweaver cohort allied detachment would like to say hello.
I expect you will see quite a lot of those alongside kratoses
>>
>>98691804
>and after it moves it's already too late for the kratos to stop what you want the transport to do.
You (most likely) did not deploy your big expensive transport (which are not very fast) on the edge of the deployment line if its hidden behind cover.

Chances are it moving for one round is not actually good value for what you paid for it. And you did not buy a land raider go let your terminators or whatever move an extra 7" for one turn.
>>
>>98691804
>and after it moves it's already too late for the kratos to stop what you want the transport to do.
You want those transports to safely deliver a melee deathstar/expensive unit where they need to go. Which is unlikely to be the case with a conservative deployment + turn 1 disembark.
>>
>>98691809

Stop being a nogames.
>>

Nah. Maybe twin claws? But the power weapons that you want vs t5 (maces, axes) are I-1, hitting at the same time as the scyllax. I guess you get to hit with them, but the 2x (more even) damage for thunder hammers is worth losing a couple of guys who wont get to hit.

>10 Scyllax kill 3 WS5 Termies at i3 for 250 pts

>>
>>98691857
Anon whatever you were hiding behind is area terrain. That building? Area terrain. That ruin? Area terrain. That forest? Area terrain. That hill? Area terrain. And with planewarp that terrain no longer blocks LoS, not "you can draw a line through it without the limitation thing" (which might be the intention), but just straight up does not block LoS, you can see through it as if it wasnt there.

>>98691866

If they have cyberthurgy for WS6, the remaining 3~2 terminators in the unit (assuming a starting size of 5, equal points to the scyllax) will kill around 2 scyllax in return. A very good trade for the scyllax.

No, 3 Catas (with buff ofc):
10 Scyllax: 40A Impact (A)
WS6 means 2/3 of them hit: 26.66 hits
Breaching 5 & 4++ means 4.44 unsaved wounds
>That's 2
S5 and Rad Furnace vs T5 2+ means 40 * 2/36: another 1.48 unsaved wounds through sheer chip damage.

1.48 + 4.44 = 5.92 unsaved wounds. That's 3 dead Termies. The 2 survivors could tie that combat, and next turn Scyllax get depowered and lose a guy from feedback, so indeed, I wouldn't try that without an Arcuitor to tip the scale and win combat through duel scores.

But at least it's an option on the Mech Menu.
>>
>>98691877

Anon, you arent charging with your scyllax be serious. Theyre slow as balls. Catas arent getting their charge benefits either in any sane world, for the same reason

30*2/3*1/3*1/2+30*2/3*1/3*1/6 = 4.4 wounds into catas
30*2/3*1/3*2/3+30*2/3*1/3*1/6 = 5.5 wounds into tarts

Making a master in affinity to print transfers from might actually be easier than I expected. I managed find clean images without a background for most of what I wanted to make transfers of and the basic editing features in Affinity seem to work for removing backgrounds. Then I just have to eyeball the size by zooming to 104% or whatever.

I will need to maximise the printed space by basically adding everything I might remotely want in multiples including a legion bort number for every epic scale tank I have including those I've not even built yet.

The only thing vexing me is how you print white transfers.

Wouldn't be so bad if Magi could join Thallax/Ursarax without slowing them down. You know, like every edition before.

It was (whyever) only the Magos prime who could get a jetpack. And while he coud join Thallax this wasn't the case with Ursarax, as these were jump infantry (1st)/had the Utan jump booster (2nd).

But also
>Slaanesh minis should be beatiful and disturbing in equal measure
Nope, sorry. Youre wrong.
Yes, they should contain ELEMENTS of what can be considered beautiful, or attractive, or aesthetic (and they do), but they on the whole should look repulsive and monstrous, because they represent a point so far beyond sanity it cant be anything else.

The point is that wanting to fuck a seeker isnt a sane thing, its not a reasonable thing, its not a rational thing. Its fucking dick horse or hyper-vacuum felatio or whatever. Slaanesh isnt for the average joe, its for people looking up inflation vore.

I noticed as part of my noticing things that the new primaris marines from the Armageddon starter set have toned down primaris design elements and even included mark 7 styke helmets so my theory was (I guess still is) that is related to firstborn getting squatted. They want them to look more like traditional marines so people put off by Primaris will look on them more favorably and start playing them now instead of no longer collecting marine sloppa.

They are paradoxically bridging the gap aesthetically while at the same time nuking OG marines because they want these new primaris to be the universally accepted image of a space marine with no clarification like "primaris" before it like Mk 7 was/still is.

With the Tzeentch rules out what's the verdict on using the gods from the Ankh board game as demons for a tutelary themed force? They're around the height of a contemptor.

Okay but we're still getting mk7 for HH right anon?

No, tell that to the Covenant
>>

>They are paradoxically bridging the gap aesthetically
They're backtracking on the aesthetic while stopping just shy of disavowing the look as a mistake to try and keep the appeal up.
Same shit 343 did with Halo.
>>
>>98696183
You could use exactly one as that tzeentch high command unit. Everything else is way smaller, and the lord of change is way larger.
>>
>>98696371
What about Halo? The fact this is the third time they've sold the first game is to me signal that the new shit just didn't take.
Turns out building up a trilogy-defining villain only to kill them in a single game (and a comic) wasn't so smart. Three times in a row (Didact, Cortana, Atriox)! Yikes

Have they bothered making a PC port of CE that's not borked nor remastered?
>>
>>98696578
What was wrong with the original PC version?
>>
>>98696719
They fucked the port, resulting in severe downgrade in graphics. They couldn't fix it, because the fix wouldn't required basically to rewrite a huge chunk of the game. And all the following PC versions used this borked port as the base.

Specifically what they did with the mjolnir armor. 343 redesigned the armor for 4 and 5 but it looked dumb and different and wrong in most cases so they went back to a more classic design in Infinite to try and make it seem like they were going back to basics.

they're going back to the early 90s marine aesthetic before everything was covered in 9001 purity seals

Every marine has the same number of purity seals as the proper marines did before, except the captain, who has six.
They're trying to mimic the aesthetic they're replacing while only barely passing with the newer intercessors only.

Oof those newer Spartans look closer to Autobots and Decepticons than to Spartans. Spartan helmets are a baseball cap on top, whiskers at the front, easy as that.
But eeeeeveryone wants to leave "their mark", even if it's closer to a shit stain on a toilet. Not unlike MkIII's resculpt. Way to toss an Iconic Look into the trash. That's brand recognition others would give their pinkie finger for!
>>
>>98696801
Halo Reach had a positive impact by making more unique armor but, except for the helmets, almost everything was just bits stacked on top of a basic armor package. 4 and 5 tried to make something totally new to represent a newer design philosophy but it was dumb so it didn't work and instead of trying to fix it they just tossed it in the trash and played pretend like they'd never tried it.
>>
>>98696792
Allarus barely even look like Terminators to begin with, than just up-armoured Custodes in visuals and even loadout beyond a fucking grenade launcher. Nu-Aquilons have bad poses, but there's still something of a easily readable Terminator silhouette and I don't think their 40k counterparts are posed any better.

Much like the rest of their releases this year, I will leave some reservations until somebody makes a more appealing paint job.

Making up a sheet layout for transfer printing is only half as frustrating and annoying as I expected.

Am I retarded, Is it common for an on screen page to be the exact same size as the real piece of paper at 100% zoom? I've never noticed but its going to make final sizing much easier.

Allaurs, despite being made before, are actually closer to primaris gravis armor where it's just normal armor with extra plating. The best way to see that is the arms which are regular armors under expanded paldrons.
Aquillon terminators have the overweight look in the back with legs that mimic tartaros, the heavy double pauldrons and a helmet that's sunken into the body.
The new models might look more terminator that allarus but are so insufficient as to be less desirable than it. You could say Allarus is more Alluring, in fact.
>>
>>98696820
Reach built on top of the foundations Halo 3 laid. It may have been the same bits rearranged on top of derivative designs, but you could still recognize them as variations of Mjolnir.
>>
>>98696953
Right. Halo 4 started to drift away while still being close enough. Halo 5 was the full departure that fell so flat.

I won't disagree that the resin ones look nicer, but I'm not exactly seeing Inquisitor Taco in these guys. That nigga has a power-diaper and his power armour forsakes the pecs and abs for a lot of flatness broken up with weird grooves. Nothing to say of the impaled bird, for that is a different story. Nu-Aquilons do have far more diminished eagle features on the shoulders and mantle, but there's a lot more greeble making it look busier on the front, Coteaz is just smoothed out to an absurd degree. Suffice to say, I don't quite agree with the comparison.

Suppose the other thing is that nu-Aquilons have to deal with far less aesthetic customization than even nu-Cataphractii, by presumably having three guys per set of sprues, but the latter too had some awkward bullshit of its own as well with the weapon ones having all the pteruges in different halves. Give & take with every weapon being in the box than a split, I suppose.

These fuckin LotD are straight up big Original Marines. I only just noticed they got Godwin bolters too for Christs sake! If they are planning to swing right back then their timing is malicious and that’s kinda hilarious, in a sick way

Hard to tell, a bit of both maybe. Authors like Mike Brooks and the commie warhammer community guy are definitely doing it out of malice.

If there's any game that can have imperial forts all day long, it would be 30k: No xenos, and half the games are traitors fighting loyalists blocking the way to Terra. The final battle is the most famous siege ever.
>>
>>98699093
This is true and all, but most people dont play with fortifications. Several reasons really:
Most games are not particularly narrative (sad but true) .
Couple with the above point, this means that fortifications cant be a "scenario" thing, you arent playing a game where an inferior force + defensive terrain fight off a stronger attacker force or whatever, the fortifications have to be bought, and people dont tend to run them in their lists.
Fortifications as "neutral terrain" is also fairly rare, because terrain tends to be an afterthought and more or less "whatevers available at the place im playing".

It doesent help the rules for fortifications are hidden away in the ass end of the legacy pdf
