I need answers to my posts at >>98705955 and >>98706182 please.Also I need advice on brush maintenance with the master's brush soap.I've been looking at my hoard of synthetic bulk brushes and I felt very bad at myself for lacking the skills of brush maintenance. I don't mind detailed descriptions of how brush maintenance goes. Is the soap all one needs? A hobby shop sells tamiya brush conditioning fluid and I'm not sure if that will help after soaping away acrylics.

Normally I do a lightbox shoot with my guys upon finishing them, but for some reason this mini refused to take a good photo. Unsure if it was the primarily black/white paint job but I could not get the white balance and shutter speed to removed the background of the lightbox without significantly dulling the piece. So enjoy the finished product via old school ‘holding up to the light’ shoot.A few thoughts on the Indomitus Space Marine Chaplain:• My first time doing heavy cloth and learned a lot from it. I was worried about how my glazing transitions would appear and, frankly, it was way easier than expected. I can definitely up the contrast on the next piece now that I realize I’m comfortable handling the paint portion. Likewise I thought my brown texturing pigment would come across darker on the tabard, but now I know I need to manually dirty the bottom up with glazing.• Vallejo True Metallic Imperial Gold is as amazing as everyone says. It goes on so smooth, has warm richness, and just a tiny drop of it goes a long way. I hate that a single bottle costs $12 — the joy of our hobby being hit hard by tariffs and the killing of de minimis.• Felt good to do some generic dirt and grass basing again. I felt the color worked well with the muted pallete of the mini.• So this mini was part of the Dawn of War board game which features the $170+ Honoured of the Chapter set for $50. The red plastic is a bit lower quality than normal: it scratches far easier, has stress marks if you clip too close and, oddly enough, some of the edges aren’t as defined. For instance, the backpacks barely have a specific edged-portion that is super prominent on normal plastic. Not hard to paint on but you need to be super careful during clipping/building.• Entertainment of choice when painting: watched two terrible Italian sci-fi films from the 60’s, a Cynthia Rothrock B-movie from the 90’s and a bunch of Smosh Board AF episodes

Continuing with the megalithic project, I have managed to add terrain to some. I try to cover most of the gaps with wall covering and some ceramic plast I had, and then covered them with a mix of sand, very thin gravel and a texture paste. I like how the texture has ended up, especially the igloo one, but I think I fucked up the actual painting, since some of them have that dark neon green, not natural at all. I plan on using some clearer green and drybrush it before starting with the white glue/grass. As for the entrances, I'd like to know what can I do to make them look better, they look somewhat basic.As for the actual cromlech part, I don't think it's visible in the image, but I try to cover it with glue and sand to then paint grey. But I think the texture it got feels more like I fried the bit, rather than getting the rocky texture. Also, its base feels too small, but oh well. Any suggestions?
>>98706669It was a reaper "great worm" figure. Heres how I did the skin.Primped black and dry brushed white where I wanted lighting. Most of the paints I used were warpaints brand so just assume its warpaints unless i specifically say otherwise. I did the main body in base coat of leather brown, followed by a thinned out coat of agate skin. Then I dry brushed Ruby skin to pick out all the high points. Used speedpaint 2.0 slaughter red to pick out the pustules. The mouth part was base coated in ruby skin and the teeth were done with Vallejo bone white. I then went over the fleshy parts of the mouth with Speedpaint Slaughter red but thinned out to a 1 to 1 ratio with speedpaint medium. Dry brushed ruby skin over the inside and outside of the mouth. Teeth got hit with speedpaint pallide bone to yellow them up nicely. Lastly everything got a wash in Marine Juice wash, which I gotta say works awesome on almost all skin tones.

>>98708213tin/lead not aluminum, but yes, with picrelit's a piece of guitar string inside a mechanical pencil, just put a big drop of glue somewhere and use the tip to place the glue on the model, it's fiddly and some of the rivets do have spillover, works better with gel ca glue, you can clean it with ca remover if you really fuck up, i have seen scale modeleres do that

hello /WIP/, any recommendations on a good gloss varnish for airbrush that won't yellow over time? The gloss is going on before my shades to break surface tension, so just needs to be easy to apply and colorfast. I'm painting my minis for the long term so don't want to wake up to a bunch of yellowed miniatures in like 10+ years. I hear picrel is really good for airbrushing but can't find any info on yellowing. I'm new to varnishes so don't know if yellowing is even a consideration for this kind, maybe that's why I can't find any info on it. Any help appreciated, thanks.
