Anyone going to SPRU this weekend with all the hipster fuckers?
>>98708563has something happened with spru when I wasnt looking? whats wrong with it?
>>98708530>Give me your idea for a sci-fi game with square bases that is not in epic scale.Grav tank warfare. Tanks are approximately hotwheels size. 3-6 grav tanks per side + drones and uavs. Square basing is easier to track arcs and sides for damage, where PD countermeasures are mounted, etc. Use Renegade Legion's armour penetration templates while we're dreaming in technicolor.
>>98708574>If you know you knowI didn't, but now I do...
>>98708699From what I have heard here, sculptors not being paid for making the exclusive mini.

>Check OPR Skirmish v3.6 books>All multi-model units are gone>Heroes are so expensive you can't even field one in a 300pts list>Units are so cheap you actually have a hard time to fill the list without fielding too many units per point limitI honestly have no idea what they were thinking with those point values. I will stick with v3.5 after all, at least for the foreseeable future. Perhaps I will copy some of the updated wording and rules to my v3.5 battle bible and call it a day.
>>98708974don't think that's true, unless you have proof?
Is momminiature’s whole catalogue on their myminifactory yet?I am a bit worried that they keep their stuff on their tribes and maybe or maybe not make their releases public nowadays.I like their dwarf style.
>>98709069What are the changes for the main games?
>>98708867I don't know, but I want to know
>>98709475They only made basic rules available for free so it's hard to tell, those cover the core concepts only. The only difference I spotted in the Skirmish rules is yet another attempt to clean up the command models wording. I assume the bulk of the changes between v3.5 and v3.6 lies in new point values and special abilities, removal of the multi-model units and upping the number of attacks and wounds. Almost everything seems to be at least Tough(3) now, which is supposed to compensate for not being multi-model units I suspect. I don't mind the [3] units being gone but that should be followed by upping most of the point values (but not heroes ffs) AND changing the Force Organisation rules. Until these are addressed, I won't switch to v3.6.
>>98709054Unironically asking for a more detailed breakdown. Why are artsy autists like this? It doesn't matter what medium including miniatures.Artfags were saying a black canvas on display at a museum is art and then when AI rolls around they say art must take talent. What's going on with artists?

Its going to be a mix of everyone involved being fucking retarded rich kids in oakland trying to spite each other's art parties over preformative politics and social media greifing. The evidence posted won't matter because artsy communities operate on social credit and we live in such a fucked up world that posting evidence makes people feel bad so because you've made people feel bad you are now the bad person. I even like artsy rules light games and all sorts of grimdank bullshit but like any arts scene the 28 stuff has gotten 'popular' enough its largely overrun with garden variety narcissistic trying to take advantage of a small group of nerds who have recently discovered they can larp as cool kids. >>98709623Turns out publishers, editors, etc actually are a little bit necessary in order to tardwrangle artists into making a sellable product. It's a terribly sad thing but sometimes you actually do need a guy in a suit in the room to tell them to stop fucking around and actually sell a product before they can shoot their own foot off.

hi all, does anyone have a link for the MK4 core book for Warmahordes? I was only able to find the abridged version online and the pdf share thread folder doesn't have any MK4 stuff, thanks
>>98709991Shame. I'd play solo Kill Team again but I'm really sick of having to get a degree in every single team I wanna try out. Modern GW has so much rules bloat
>>98709913You're likely better off finding a ruleset for 2 player games you like and building procedures for solo play from there if you're unable to play both sides fairly. Not a thing I do but you might be able to ask the /SRPGG/ about it. They have a lot of procedural table background.
>>98710019>I'd play solo Kill Team againI haven't even tried it once. I have the Hivestorm box plus the other more recently released event boxes like Exodites and Terror of Devlan, but I am yet to actually play the game.
>>98710015Try the share thread friendo
>>98710015Its going to be a hard find, since a lot of people went with just the app for the rules and fluff. SFG went with a scheme where you get the annual subscription for free when you buy the yearly big display piece that has paid off.
OK so I just found these little dudes at a local bookstore for $8. I was unsure whether to get them (they're fuck tiny), until I found them online for $125nzd. What the fuck is with the ridiculous price? Are they worth so much more bc the company labels itself collectors figures? Did I secretly find treasure worth reselling on epay? Do they make their figures out of silver or something? Or are kiwis fucking sheep to the point of brain damage? What's going on here?
>>98710321Also the ones I found are unpainted. Is that it?
>>98710321Hmm I'm starting to smell bullshit.
>>98710441solid lead? is that even still a thing?
>>98710598Bro we are in a hobby where you have 90 year old grandpas cast minis and you can get models and minis from 80s or earlier fresh off the shelf. Yeah, probably.
>>98710019>Indie game is too light!>GW slop is too heavy!Okay Goldilocks.
>>98711139Fucking idiot.
>>98710598Solid lead has historically only been for the lowest tier of recasters, but lead alloyed with tin and some other stuff is unironically one of the best kinds of metals for miniatures. Everything from its physical properties to its price would be perfect, except for the fact that it's a toxic heavy metal.
>>98710019What I really don't get is why Killteam and other modern GW rulesets reads like a fucking programming language. Are the tourney fags really so far gone they [NEED] everything to be [FORMATTED] like it's going to be processed into [MACHINE CODE]?
>>98711628Yes, yes they do. They genuinely like that.
>"does anyone know where I can find [insert miniature range] in plastic!?" I see this type of post all the time in Facebook groups. Is there any quicker way to spot a Warhammer player than someone demanding you help them find a niche line of miniatures but they MUST be in plastic? I've seen it countless times, "oh those are nice but they aren't plastic so I'll pass."
>>98709540Not really...
>>98710025>if you're unable to play both sides fairly. The failing of an inferior mind, it's been a thing in chess for fucking ever to play against yourself in exactly this manner, it makes you a better player and all it requires is you drop the favouritism.

>>98708563Tickets are bloody expensive.
>>98711628It's better than the old rules that were written so poorly and ambiguously you had to guess how the writer had actually meant the game to be played.
So what would a "miniature atheistic" game look like?
>>98713572Hex and chit, standees, and theatre of the mind.
>>98713572a (theatre of the mind) roleplaying game
>>98710025One thing I will give ai credit for is that it can be useful for opfor. Tell it what it has, tell it what the terrains like, and have it give you a general strategy to build the opfors actions around.I admit I've only tested it and still run both sides fairly, but chat gpt seemed okay if completely unwilling to commit to any attacks when it had a good flanking position and could have rolled up the hill with its line. And completely failed to deal with harassing light infantry.
Thirty quid. Thirty quids. For a ticket.
>>98713725I mean its a kitbashing event where you are presumbly provided with material. Its not much different from say, attending pottery workshop and the prices per meeting seem to be similiar.
>>98713885Nah it's a vendor convention with participation games and Q&As, I think Kamping Kitbash have a stall but it's not the point of the event.Salute is £10 for comparison, most are £5 or soIt's because Spru is free for vendors rather than £50-200 per table, and it's a large posh venue in the centre of Nottingham.
>>98713718Or... you could just play each side to the best of your ability and sticking to whatever conditions for win each side has. Seems alot easier and streamlined than asking chatgpt.
>>98709788Wait, what happened to turnip? That was always the game I looked at as the spirit of the hobby of people making things themselves.
>>98713572Go.
>>98714285Turnip is fine, perhaps good even. I was foaming at the mouth about art enshitification because I have seen enough cycles of it at this point it pisses me off and typed it instead of Trench.
>>98714446I get your frustration. The dumbing down of art styles is ridiculous where people just drawn unconverted models in a wash with optional weathering and call it grimdark or blanchitsu grinds my gears.
>>98714446Ah, there is definately a problem with a lot of Turnip stuff where it looks like the only thing the person did was dunk it in their toilet, but when its good its really good. Its a game I wish was more popular just to see what people make.

>>98715326not my proudest fapmade me wonder about some lewd solo game, like I remember an anon making rules for Kill Team where your models can get Bad Ends
>>98715326
Had a nice game of Steel Rift again. Got trashed. I put way too much terrain to try and prevent long sight lines but my slower ultra heavy got stuck in the back again and I was overpowered by fast light and medium mechs.
>>98715552I mentioned last time that since the To Hit and To Wound rolls are automatic the skill to survive is to try and get the modifiers that decrease the opponent's damage. Or just roll hot af defense rolls like that guy on the roof.I wanted to try and use spotters to turn my big guy into an artillery piece but I ended up over exposing them and they didn't get the chance.Such little rolling does feel weird and we both would start actually rolling for an attack before realizing that there was no need to.
>>98715570The game is very small scaled with a 3x3 but we'll get up to a larger point game where it's recommended to go 4x4 after my opponent gets some more gubbins. And actually paints his dudes.
>>98715578The little mechs are some of the models that attracted me to the game in the first place and I'm pleased that they're actually quite good. They can muster quite a bit of (limited ammo) firepower and with a 2+ defense roll they can take a lot of shots, but with 3hp each they also die quickly when those shots go through.
>>98715366My sincere condolences. In retrospect, maidenless was inaccurate. It is of course a matter of being childless. Luckily, there's a new girl turning [legal age of consent] every day, anon. Get to it.>>98715510jejMy wife, bless her heart, is primarily interested in rapey TTRPGs/skirmish games (whereas any with the threat of character death stresses her out too much), so I am putting the final touches on the playtest version of exactly that, although it is also able to handle regular non-lewd conflict. Long story short, I have those Bad End KT rules in my research folder.Pic related.
>>98715727Good job, Anon
>>98715510Not solo, but I remember someone posting a batrep of beastmen vs amazons where the story goes that the beastmen needed wives since they're all men so their king reached out to the amazons who sent their messenger back in several small boxes, so now they're at war with the strong implication that any captured amazons are getting knotted at best.
Its larping hours see.
>>98715810Now I have a reason to grab the Greek Amazons from Brother Vinni.

>>98716008Warhammer beastmen are lame and boring.A greco-roman setting with beastmen and amazons isn't the kind of place where a marriage is a complicated affair involving lots of chaste courtship anyway.

This thread makes me glad I have a job.
Each warband starts out in a single chamber with a staircase, with no understanding of their position relative to the other warbands.
>>98717828The first turn consists basically of opening doors and finding traps and random encounters.Frostgrave, using the dungeon rules from the Breeding Pits and rolling on a table I put together for what's behind each door.
>>98717833One of the options on the table was "connect to an existing room" and two instances of that were rolled at once during turn 3, suddenly snapping all three sections into the context of one long line.
>>98717843Then we discovered the Big Room.By this point I was put of printed tiles, so this was it. The table includes whether there are treasures in each room, and the big room has two treasures. Instead of the usual "grab treasure and get to any board edge" dynamic of Frostgrave, we had to grab treasure and retreat to a staircase.
>>98717850I think the first test of the modular dungeon board was a success, but I probably need more rooms and hallways. Plus I need stuff to fill the big room with so it's not just treasure for no reason.
>>98717850Neat, thanks. Begs the question of how it is? Moving stuff around those 3d corridors rather than using old-school dungeon tiles? I'm a clumsy oaf, you see.
>>98716365It is best in life.
>>98718073It wasn't much of an issue. The only oddity was minid ending up exactly in the door, so we just set them atop tne doorframeAlso. Despite deliberately not taking Mind Control with my Soothsayer i just rolled up a Mind Control grimoire.
