Coming up with some fluff since I bought some darkoath and some chosen.

>For two moons, the writing had been on the wall. The Soot Raker tribe's previous patriarch went to bed one night as a man, and awoke a knotted mess of writhing eyeballs. The resulting war of succession between his scions was bloody, but short.

>While the Gods demanded oaths of complete annihilation, the patriarch's recent demise had shown how unreliable their blessings could be. Meanwhile, the business of cousin-selling and tribute-taking kept bellies full far longer then cannibalistic rituals to appease the insatiable spirits.

>So it was only inevitable when the ambitious and clever but materially disadvantaged younger brother would return to the bargaining table with his tail tucked once the plurality, and eventually majority, of the clan sided with his oafish elder sibling. In truth, in their youth they had shared many carefree hunts together and neither relished being driven to fratricide.

This is the beginnings of my concept of a darkoath warband called the chosen cowards, whose standard is a bloodied white banner of surrender. The basic idea is that Khorne felt cheated because this tribe didn't drive themselves to extinction, so he filled the losing side with homicidal rage during their surrender negotiations so they go around waving a bloodied white flag
>>
>>98724104
The younger brother will be a daemon prince now known as Tail-turner the Surrenderer in mockery. Will use the nurgle head because it comes with a shroud, which I'll use to keep the bloody white cloth theme going
>>

OBR needs more shit like this instead of bone golem animals. If they're making bone golems for a purpose they don't need to resemble animals at all.

Has it actually been a year since ogors? Feels like it was 4 months ago. This has been a pretty shitty year desu. As for the ogors, they’re fine. I’m a bit worried about the direction beastclaws will be going, but beyond that, they’re a good allure to destruction. Rule wise they’re probably the healthiest spot they’ve been in since aos has existed, without being too overpowered like with beastclaw raiders. This new Warcry band meta might fuck them over though.

Ogors came out a month ago.

>1st edition with simple rules, great campaign and expansion content like Realmgate Wars, Malignant Portents and Grand Alliance books
>2nd edition with refined core rules, fully-developed Battletomes and wide selection of armies
Which one was the best? I'm working on a 2nd edition Battle Bible since Wahapedia makes it so much easier to deal with but the 1st edition is calling me like a siren. Whenever I see the Might Battles book I feel the urge to take out my Bloodbound and Fatcasts from their display cabinet and play a game or two with my wife.

>gunpowder is banned
4chan bubble strikes again. It's is not banned, it simply doesn't sell well. Majority of fantasy-leaning normies care about Hollywood medieval aspects of fantasy with no desire for gunpowder weapon. CoS is here to suck money out of the few that actually want guns in their fantasy armies. If you think about this, most people don't care about the actual "hard" magic in 40k either.
>>
>>98724534
>it simply doesn't sell well.
bullshit
>>
>>98724534
i don't think AoS is in a MtG scenario where the mere concept of a gun is banned, so everyone has to have an energy projectile weapon that act like guns but are clearly just a fantasy wand
>>
>>98724536
Market proves otherwise.
>>
>>98724542
Even with this one MtG shat the bed by introducing guns (again) in Universes Beyond sets. Rules, even the stupid ones, are to be followed only when big money is not at stake apparently.
>>
>>98724543
no, it doesn't
>>
>>98724552
Name me 3 successful fantasy setting that care on focus on fire arms and then show me how well the IP owner cashes on that. Even WFB has two (2) factions that focus on gunpowder fire arms only because of the cultural connotations. I don't count ogors since one unit with cannons and random hand guns here and there are hardly a core part of the faction but if you want to be generous we can make it three (3) factions out of 12? 15?
>>
What will you do when GW cans AoS?

Why do you insist on making yourself such a fool? It's all written in your posts, it is not a word-against-word situation. It is okay to change your opinion when confronted with facts, it's only human to exaggerate, it doesn't make you any less of a man.

I'm not the anon who said gunpowder is banned, I'm an anon who is telling you that this
>People are simply not interested in gunpowder weapons in their fantasy setting so much
is simply fucking wrong and out of touch, guns are very popular, so much that you have to pretend that armies with guns don't actually have guns if only a 3 or 4 units have guns, or that guns aren't guns the moment their gunpowder is magic just to keep trying to pretend this point of yours is anything but retardation masked with pedantry.

and before you try to backpedal again with
>well I actually meant just conventional gunpowder, not guns in general
this is your post, this is what you said

Why would I pretend that magitech armies don't have guns if they were never the point of the discussion? If the original post would adress guns in general it wouldn't make sense either since KO are literally Guns: the army.

They shoot bullshittium gas.
>>
>>
>>
>>98724694
Not in all cases I believe? They do have solid projectiles being put in motion by some kind of fuel right? The new dwarves also have guns, even if magic is being used to move the projectile, right? Or is the cannon just a tube on wheels to direct a spell with no projectile?

The guns shoot gas that solidifies. The cannons do have balls propelled by bullshittium gas. You can even see them on the gunhauler.
>>
>>98724685
>Why would I pretend that magitech armies don't have guns
because your real position, which is
>few people want guns
is indefensible, so you have to move the goalpost with unreasonable definitions of what is a gun and what army counts as having guns
>>
>>98724711
How convenient of you to skip this part
>Majority of fantasy-leaning normies care about Hollywood medieval aspects of fantasy with no desire for gunpowder weapon.
Should I add "gunpowder" to every single sentence in my post for you not to lose your attention and keep track of the discussion? Isn't stating the point in the first sentence enough for you to understand that the whole post is addressing the same talking point? Have you ever took part in an irl discussion with a living person on a forum?
>>
>>98724702
All their guns use aether gold, the solid ammunition is aether gold that solidifies during the firing mechanism
The new skaven jezzails, and other of their guns most likely, work by a similar principle but with warpstone instead of aether gold

One thing I found interesting is that having a big bowl for the reloading mechanism is actually something that popped up at one point in history
>>
>>98724717
>Should I add "gunpowder" to every single sentence in my post
For me to believe that you were rambling specifically about the powder and not in general about guns? To the point you tried to drag in 40k as well? Yes.
Because it's obvious you're backtracking now.

Also skaven in fantasy absolutely used gunpowder, and so did chaos dwarfs, it's only in aos that they're using magic powder only.

>>98724731
>Powered by warp-steam and kicked into gear by the prodigious working of a hand crank, the six-barrelled Ratling Gun would begin to spin before it unleashes its payload of warpstone bullets.
That's from their WFB armybook. If you want something that explicitly differentiates Skaven firearm from gunpowder firearm then Warplock Jezzail description does that:
>Aided by its tremendous length, a Warplock Jezzail is capable of hitting targets at a distance greater than conventional bows or blackpowder firearms. Once the rifle is fired, the weapon unleashes a single bullet made entirely of refined toxic warpstone at such velocity that it strikes with a force capable of penetrating through even the thickest of armours.
Again, 7th edition Skaven armybook.
>For me to believe that you were rambling specifically about the powder and not in general about guns? To the point you tried to drag in 40k as well? Yes.
That's on you.
