/mcyoag/ builds are pretty distinct compared to ours. They don't simply pick fun options that they know aren't the best which we sometimes do, they intentionally make shitty builds to enable shitty character roleplay (often ERP)
>>
>>98767516
What is /cyoag/s opinion on mentors? I mean in "you can only unlock certain powers by being an apprentice to a specific character". It's hardly a new concept, I know but I wanted to know if anons like it, dislike it, want it to be implemented certain way (more restrictions, less restrictions, incompatible skill lines/progression etc).
I do wonder if anons would for example call it humiliation ritual if for the most destructive or unhinged skills you would have to apprentice under a schizo.

If tok is around, on the last page, with the rivals. if you spend two shards of power, does that entail you able to sherry pick rivals everytime? or is it a once and done deal? if i chose Daenerys, will only Daenerys be added? or can i decide on Jon Snow the next time?
>>
>>98768229
it would work, but all you really get out of it is +50 to your aura reserve

you want to get waning lunar aeon asap so that you can combo it with sokushinbutsu
>>
>>98768120
His inability to stick with a build makes me wonder what would be a good build for him? Maybe like a generic wizard build with transmutation and transfiguration with origami and mannequinn so he can make his minions and do whatever.

>>
>>98768246
the three alchemy master statuses are basically a "do anything" combo, and they slot absurdly well into any overpowered build that takes alchemy
>>
>>98768238
I like it if he is a classic hero's journey mentor and isn't a jackass. I wouldn't like it if I had to choose between multiple mentors and the one with the powers I wanted to learn wasn't the one I liked though.
>>
>>98768268
Meh transmigration is pretty specific and shit. Otherwise yea.
>>
>>98768245
It also gives me the occasion to study stuff at hyperspeed, using the Geist patron to study stuff while I stay static.
That said yes, it isn't a really powerful build as it is, and needs more techniques to actually get stronger (a fun idea I had was using the Eon reversal to abuse the sped up aura regeneration).
>>
>>98768277
it summons spirits non-specifically

if you want some weird ass spirit that's almost never heard of for one specific job, you can't go wrong with transmigration, as long as you apply the correct ceremony and technique artistry you basically turn transmigration into a custom spirit builder

meanwhile if you want a basic bitch fighting spirit to protect you or toad spirit to jew for you, you aren't going wrong with transmigration either

>>98768289
people who argue against it just feel a need to take things down for no reason, it's a useful gimmick but there are many other combos nobody is moaning against
>>
>>98768246

most content has been extracted so there was not enough to talk about to sustain a general day to day, so new inspiration only strikes from time to time to begin new discussions and OR continues on churning resurrecting from time to time, also creating a new general reduces your viewer base so staying in the main one has a wider audience so more individuals are enlightened in the ways of OR.
>>
>>98768464

Hell too is good, and it even has the advantage of being full of people weaker than you, the only problem is that Drace is far worse than Astra.
>>

Dokuro is just the word of a "skull" in japanese.
Dokuro in oblative gesture is a random skeleton spirit.

Dokurokuro is "black skull" and its probably just the title Kofuko took as "king" of that type of spirits. Or maybe Kofuko is his new name trying to lay low and his original one was Dokurokuro.

Not really, Drace is very strong, the strongest warmage. Unless you mean in personality.
But they are the best friends between all gifts having a sister relationship that makes Drace not be so... Drace. So those two together are very cute.

The first sorcerers that created the city clearly were perverts. They brough with them the biggest tits in their countries and made the city with those women.

And the women sorceress, clearly created a technique to increase breast size and it was passed down through genes.

I am joking but I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happened. People there being so beautiful is likely eugenics + magic from their descendants.
>>
>>98768841

false buddha is a waste of points for that, if you take universal sovereign you just have infinite lifespan of the soul, while mind splitting already covers lifespan of the body
>>

>>
>>98768917

>>
>>98768929
I imagined you typing this post like a woodpecker, now what?
>>
>>98768898
False buddah doesnt give more soul, it rejuvenates it. And it would work on all bodies, as you are all connected as its literally the same person and aura system in all of them.
So 1 body would do it, and all others would also become 10 years younger in both body and soul.

Problem of this? Maybe at some point you will erase yourself from existence if your bodies start to become negative years old.

Also, mind splitting doesn't "consume soul" just like false buddah doesn't "give soul". The first removes years of your soul lifespan if the body is destroyed. The second rejuvenates it.

So, basically, I am very keen in thinking this is bait and not a genuine question because this is truly bad made and shows you didn't read those techniques.

This strategy erases you if you do false buddah with all clones

Honestly, there isn't much to explain? You're running headcanon. The techniques don't say they do the things you're saying, those are just your own interpretations of them, mostly because there's no strict definition of what lifespan even means in the first place. You seem to be going with one of the two common interpretations of lifespan, for most of your arguments, except you then pivot around on the negative age angle, so your interpretations of the different technique effects aren't even using the same definition of lifespan for some reason.

Doesn't work like that.
You create the clone, both share the same soul, aura and aura system.

And if the clone dies, your soul lifespan gets reduced by 1 year.
Its not a clone you create with a part of your soul, its literally a new body in the hivemind of your mind/soul.

Doubt it. He is a chad anti alchemy summoners.
The moment he attacks the summon the summoner will receive the damage and Sovereign's body is not resisting that kind of damage.

I imagine if you want the clan to follow your lead you not only need to defeat him, but do it in his own game, core. Because the whole clan hates alchemy and majushin, fight like that and the clan is simply going to fight you to the death if push comes to shove. You need their respect.

also biological weapons are still a thing in real life too, so the nuke logic also still applies with plagues

chemical/biological/nuclear aren't banned in real life, there's no authority to do the banning, yudi and yama are about as cucked as the united nations for these purposes

I dont know how signature technique works but its probably doable with the normal technique, but the kind of technique that works better against people not that strong.
Maybe it stops you from regenrating X aura amount, and if your body would have been able to regenerate that amount of aura, the curse is lifted.
Probably one of the hardest and most costly commands

>>
>>98769366
>>98769337
signature technique is unnecssary for this, you can just develop new abilities under noble commandment and oblative gestures, especially if you have high technique artistry, however if you do start with special technique for this purpose it's perfectly plausible it would work, aura inhibiting darts and cursing needles are already doing similar things and those are items, this is just a new vector for it

if you think it's unbalanced then make it cost 12 aura to cast or something

>also biological weapons are still a thing in real life too, so the nuke logic also still applies with plagues
biological weapons are used in wars between countries. Countries do not people create their custom biological weapons in their houses and release them.
What I am saying is the City should have banned chimeras, because as you said its a biological weapon that could have already destroyed the city if it wasn't for guys dedicating themselves to culling them.

>how nigga how
First, you ban it. Right now its legal as long as the chimera is not far from you. Just ban it. Its ilegal.
Find and destroy the place where they destroy the information of chimera egg and techniques like that. if you find any chimera in city do investigations, if a sorcerer can be linked prison or execution.

Its not going to be 100% infallible but its way better than "do it but beware okay? you already almost killed all us so don't make it too risky again :)"

>>
>>98769382
Yeah, basically, no aura. Just physical juggernauts.

Which is why you all better hope we kill the majushin before they give souls to chimeras, start breeding between themselves and now all chimeras have souls and aura techniques.

A chimera ant situation.
>>
>>98769433

>>
>>98769396
you're making the classic mistake of assuming a higher authority exists who will do what you want, there is no such thing in spirit conscript

this is the problem people unused to geopolitcs always run into when they think that treaties can just magically be enforced between countries even though there's no higher authority who'll come down and force a country to obey the law

the different factions effectively are different countries, because there is no authority that they need to bow to, that's how it works

>Just ban it. Its ilegal.
that does nothing, it's just words, you need an authority to actually enforce the ban for it to be meaningful

if the united states says north korean nukes are illegal, north korea just laughs
>>
>>98769379

>>
>>98769442
Who knows. We only know that beings with souls breeding do create beings with souls.
And we also know that chimeras, that do not have souls, breeding doesn't create souls.

So the conclusion I can reach is that for a being to have a soul, is either given one by a technique or born from beings with souls. So I think its possible and higly dangerous.
>>
>>98769433
That was Dark Sovereign's entire chimeralord strategy, he had signature techniques in like chimera egg, soul coagulation and vessel transfer and was giving them super powerful humanoid chimera bodies + powerful souls + powerful alteration arrays like perfect meridians and shit.

IIRC you can fully design souls personalities and proclivities, imbue unbreakable commands into vessels, and he was using indoctrinating sigil to reinforce the mind control and carnal to physically prevent them from breeding without his consent. He had a lot of failsafes.
>>
>>98769472
Entropist was pretty bad from what I remember. No because the discussion was toxic but because of how ridiculously overbearing it was. maybe, but nothing is without a weakness. For example, imagine a rival sorcerer realizes all of this, kidnaps one of the, gives them the bath to remove the mind control and either puts his own or uses it against him by feeding the kidnapped rage. Or just remove the sigil, put aphodisiacs and make them breed. Or remove the sigil and rape or...
you catch it.
No plan or technique is flawless and in his case falling is bye bye
>>
>>98769533
I now see you’re just determined to pretend he loses every-time.

>>
>>98769533
>For example, imagine a rival sorcerer realizes all of this, kidnaps one of the, gives them the bath to remove the mind control and either puts his own or uses it against him by feeding the kidnapped rage
That requires them to capture what amounts to a perfect meridians conscript, and things like vessel transfer stopping their body from breeding stops that. The best they're getting is a DNA sample.
>>

well its mostly a problem when does it count as dying? Like it says when your mortal body dies so does switching vessels count as your mortal body dying? Is it when your original body dies? Because it has these possible edge cases which I personally wouldn't want to risk.
>>
Am I missing something with anons saying False Buddha makes you immortal? The name itself has "False" on it because it doesn't actually do that, it just prolongs your life at best.
>>
>>98769846
He demanded it, then he posted it.

>>98769853
When a mortal would go into hell before their reincarnation or a spirit would go into the spirit womb. It's not ambiguous. All those body switching techniques don't matter for it.

>>98769861
It can prolong it indefinitely. The note about it not being viable long-term just refers to you probably fucking up enough rituals in a row some day for it to fall through, since the ritual is very strenuous. If false buddha isn't immortality then perennial lotus isn't either, since that also has conditions to fail. And if conditions where it fails are a problem, even universal sovereign plus vampire body aren't true immortality. May as well just make the 4x legend status 4x special technique build to make yourself truly immortal at that point.
>>
>>98769379

Yeah. When it's not specified it's both. For example look at the second and arguably more important part of lifegiving immolation blessing. You can give both soul and body lifespan to others. Now if you have a means of replenishing your own, or just an infinity of both of them (universal sovereign + vampire body), you can freely give it out no problem.
>>
>>98769918

Impermanence is only theoretically escaped in a shit way by universal sovereign because if you die and gestate a million years in the spirit womb before returning you still remember everything from before dying and your soul is the same. That's the only form of escaping impermanence currently available to you in the cyoa. This is because escaping impermanence is defined in a retarded way for the sake of immortality discussions. It's much more useful as an excuse for how techniques are made, since all of them are supposed to be attempts at escaping impermanence, and having the topic be comlicated allows for comlicated techniques.

The technique tells you you share senses and memories, not thoughts or impulses. You can't have one body's brain control another body, and each body's mind focuses on its own body's circumstsances. Your minds are split. If it were a true hive mind technique, it would tell you so, instead of being specific about which parts of the mental experience are shared.

KKK's modification is that the minds have different personalities rather than only being split. You could do that yourself if you wanted to as well, without special technique or anything. I actually hung a quirk of personality on that fact in one of my builds, and decided that the different minds are slightly too different.

Been there. People complain about Limitless Meridians but alchemy and flow are still really appealing to the core/phase specialist. If we had a stronger system that allowed (G3, G3, G1 G1 (or even a bit better)) we wouldn't have so many limitless meridians.

>The big benefit in Physical Empowerment is the passive athletic boost
Which takes AEONS to be useful. Which is once again my point. For physical empowerment to be significant you need either a lot of souls (to manually boost stats) or a LOT of prep time (to "level up" your base tier).

sons are - at base - pretty low tier, but have enough avenues of theoretically infinite (if really inefficient) scaling that they can (given enough time) get strong.
>>

Nah, Phase is way better off focusing on bullshit hax like Paradox Point or Needle. Even if you DO want to hit really hard Flow can also do that. The big strength of Core is its defense, which is way less useful when you're built to never get hit in the first place.
>>
>>98770355
The author basically just said it doesn't scale as hard as they potentially thought, not that they are wrong.
>>
>>98770412
it's debatable how strong it is because you have to make a judgement call on how it interacts with aura-born resilience, like take for example an interaction with living world refolding, how many layers do you think it could eat

even if it is as strong as you assume, it's still half your aura pool invested into a single attack that you presumably lose track of after throwing off once

>>
>>98770484
One of my favorite abilities actually.
>>
>>98770493
This is actually mostly a problem with alchemy martial arts. They all assume the target is trying to tank them with core resilience. Outside of that they suddenly suck ass. In the world where you're comparing one affinity against another and they can't dip, it's less of a problem for core than it is for alchemy.

Yea they suck to have to consider as a core user but aren't effective if you can't actually touch the phase user or are blocked by a layer of conduction modes.

meanwhile what about the incredible defenses of the other three affinities? they don't get any hard counters like that blasted at them, there isn't anything that just disables all conductions, banishes all spirits, or disables the possibility of evasion
>>
>>98770505
Me, purebodyfag, always knew I could not defeat the trigram just starting out. Never thought the opposite. It was clear to me, I was in fact, telling this to Sovereign, that no build would be able to do so when he was very adamant that 60 aura was even more than them.

Unless there is another axis where the good answer is, the best position really is in-between the two stupid extremes most of the time. And no such alternative axis exists in most cases anon. The best economic system is somewhere between pure communism and pure capitalism for example. I would LOVE for someone to find the Z axis to that but we are in the same place after more than a century of bullshit. Sorry anon you are just full of shit. The middle position is usually right, nature is ontologically good, and if you give a mouse a cookie he is going to ask for a glass of milk.
>>
>>98770577
> what about the incredible defenses of the other three affinities?

>Alchemy
Weak physically, depend on summons. Butchery
>Flow
High cost techniques to do anything, very little physical or speed enhancements
>Phase
low durability, victims to big aoe attacks they cant dodge.

I would say
Core > Flow
Core can survive whatever flow throws, outlast him and if he hits once he wins
Phase > Core
Phase has ways to bypass durability and too quick to be hit
Flow > Phase
Phase can't dodge all the aoe of Flow

Alchemy has both weakness and strengths against other affinites, Alchemies builds are more varied so it depends a lot. Core with butchery touches summon builds. Phase is specially good against the weak alchemy guy. Flow can kill a lot of summons as well.

But at the same time alchemy has hax fuckery that could, in the right circumstances, defeat the other 3.
>>
>>98770632

>>98770632
In almost all cases there isn't just one alternative axis. You have multiple dimensions to think of.

>The best economic system is somewhere between pure communism and pure capitalism for example.
Yeah, but that's a great example. The reason is because there's a lot more nuance than just muh communism or muh capitalism. Trying to make it a single axist is the most counterproductive shit ever.

Yeah but see, someone was just saying that celestial alignment gets through it because the layers of density are outside the body. Then by that logic they aren't matter and paradox point has to contend with them as non-matter. Or alternately, if paradox point can just eat the body through living world refolding, then that means the density must be part of the body, and thus celestial alignment can't affect the body without beating the layers. It's up to you which makes more sense. Personally I think it's supposed to be an aura contest between any of them, not an automatic win based on one technique simply trumping the other.

it creates a layer of a material with certain density. Density, btw, means there is weight, weght needs some kind of mass, or in toher words, matter
>>
>>98771235

Headcanon.

Sorry, but I'm not convinced at all that special attacks can get through LWR. It's obviously meant to be the core version of exotic physical defense. There are already plenty of other normal, flesh-based, semi-mundane resilience options in core at the legendary level. The entire point of this technique is as a very expensive answer against the stuff you're arguing it's no-save countered by. Going from simple game design logic, your opinion doesn't make sense. Within the rules themselves, the terms aren't clear either. You're now just inventing the idea that it generates matter for no reason.
>>

Nah, the part where it says it actually contends is a good readin. It can't simply get through as if it were normal matter, but it also still can do some damage. Whether that damage is to the layers or to the body depends on how much aura was sunk into the technique.

>It's obviously meant to be the core version of exotic physical defense.
No, it's meant to provide exponentially increasing strength and durability as well as immunity to touch attacks.
Also, the entire point of these attacks is to get around extreme durability. The Core solution to this is healing or ISS.
>>
>>98771248
>Headcanon.
Let's state the facts.
1. This creates a layer. There is layers as a thing that occupies a space. As its also mentioned you have to through them and if you create more than one they get stacked ON TOP of another.
If they were to not occupy space, they could overlap, but nto stack one over another.

2. They have their own mass. "The weight of this layer "

3. Density is weight/volume. Naturally, we already stated that it does occupy a space/volume and it has weight. So of course it has density.

These points are made simple in this part

"as each layer becomes stronger, heavier and denser in accordance with the number of layers above it."

4. You have to PENETRATE THEM to REACH the true skin.
This obviously means whatever wants to hit your true skin has to go through the layers. That we stated have a mass and volume earlier.
"they must penetrate every layer of protection to reach the user’s true skin"

So it has weight, it occupies a space, it has density per the two things I just mentioned, it has to be penetrated to reach the true skin. All of this and you just think there is no matter? What generates the weight? what occupies the space? what is stopping the attacks to reach your skin?

it does not reinforce your skin, it puts layers on it. By mere logic, this creates mass.
>>
>>98771273
It always does some damage which means the body of the core user not the layers. Combine that with a touch attack on a heavenly instrument and core anon is screwed.
>>
>>98771295
NTA but "assuming damage is possible"
Unless you can actively cut through the layer to hit the person, you just damage the layer.
>>
>>98771295
>It always does some damage
to the thing it hits.
If it hits a shield with durability 99999999999999
even if the attack had 100 attack damage and should do 0, it will do 1. For example.

It doesn't mean if it hits the 9999999999 durability shield that it will somehow hit you behind it.
In the same way, it will hit the layer and do some damage to it if its attack damage is too low.
>>
>>98769382
Is the cyoa pisscord worth visiting? or is it all drama mostly?
>>
>>98771284
>...Okay, so then Paradox Point just deletes the matter being affected by the field, and then deletes you.
No, if the density is external then it doesn't matter what's happening with the matter, it's a field of non-physical aura that can deflect the paradox point in the same way the guy who threw it could accelerate it.

>ISS
I have no idea what that has to do with either paradox point or celestial alignment.

>>98771292
>If they were to not occupy space, they could overlap, but nto stack one over another.
Incorrect, if they were overlapping in the same space they could still validly be described as on top of each other.

>2. They have their own mass. "The weight of this layer "
Just like density, mass is also a property of matter, not matter itself.

>4. You have to PENETRATE THEM to REACH the true skin.
Still works regardless of whether they're spatially outside the body or overlapping the body and each other.

>>98771295
No, the layers tank the damage if the damage is not strong enough. That's the entire point of the technique, if your attacks aren't strong enough then the touch attack portion of them can't connect.
>>
>>98771302
That caveat is for ISS, not LWR. Damage IS at least theoretically possible to the body even with a bunch of layers.

The point is that this is that ACTUAL 'You are immune to all special damage' power.
>>
>>98771315
>Incorrect, if they were overlapping in the same space they could still validly be described as on top of each other.
if they do not occupy space this doesn't make sense. Its pure logic. Something that occupies 0 space can't be above something that also occupies 0 space.
Imagine nothing on top of nothing. Makes sense to you?
If it does, you are imagining something.
>mass is also a property of matter, not matter itself.
If mass is a property of matter, and that mass is from a layer, that layer is ON TOP of another layer so they occupy different spaces... that layer must have matter on its own.
>Still works regardless of whether they're spatially outside the body or overlapping the body and each other.
it doesn't. You can't penetrate something that does not occupy a volume.

I think you are struggling with all of this because you dont know how something without volume works. You can't penetrate it. You can't lay it on top of anything. There is no space occupied so it can't interact with things that depend on the 3 dimensions (space).
Penetrating something means its moving from one place to another and going through something.
Having no volume, no space, means there is nothing to penetrate in the first place.

If the layers didn't have space (which contradict the concept of layer) and somehow overlaped with the skin, then penetrating the layer is the same as penetrating the skin. But you have to penetrate first the layer.

There is several logical impossibilities in your argument. To the point I am starting to think you are simply baiting. Or genuinely retarded.

So techniques that require physical contact, like the alchemy martial of ripping your soul out.

Paradox point is not physical contact. So its not protected by Living World Refolding

>If there's no matter there's no density.
The CYOA is full of these kinds of things. Just like how fluctuation creates speed without momentum. This might be enough to prove something if there wasn't a leap of logic of the size of "The technique creates matter out of nothing actually." even though there's no mention of that anywhere.

>>98771351
>if they do not occupy space this doesn't make sense. Its pure logic. Something that occupies 0 space can't be above something that also occupies 0 space.
It makes perfect sense when they're stacked on top of each other as values of an arbitrary effect that a technique creates.

>Imagine nothing on top of nothing. Makes sense to you?
>If it does, you are imagining something.
Yes, I'm imagining the thing the CYOA describes.

>If mass is a property of matter, and that mass is from a layer, that layer is ON TOP of another layer so they occupy different spaces... that layer must have matter on its own.
No, it doesn't need matter. It only has density. This clearly isn't meant to be read in a physics texbook manner. Just like the word exponential in other parts of the cyoa isn't for example.

>it doesn't. You can't penetrate something that does not occupy a volume.
Yes you can. There's an effect without a volume that's metaphysically blocking your access. You need force to penetrate it. Easy.

Define density. Literally. Just define density.

>>98771475
In all techniques where matter is created, it tells you what sort of matter. If LWR created matter, it would say what sort of matter it's creating. Saying it has aura doesn't explain why a point " of spatial incongruity" would get affected by it.

From what I understood:
1. Splits 1 second of movement into 24 frames.
2. He moves through those frames at a rate of 24 frames per second.
3. Within those frames, he can then split the next second of movement into 24 frames again. This builds up his momentum since he was already moving faster, and thus, he can do more within a single second.
>>
>>98771499
It was explained dumb. But basically you imagine a series of 24 movements of yourself, and as they are physically possible to be done within a second, you can stack them and the end result is those 24 movements done in 1 second.
>>
>>98771512
Paradox point works until its momentum is fully expended, so clearly it is affected by the world around it. Therefore, if something extremely dense were to interact with it, it would slow down a lot faster.

>>98771515
Strictly speaking I was arguing that there's only one weakness versus either celestial alignment or paradox point. If it's spatially external, it clearly favors celestial alignment, since celestial alignment can slip inside its bounds. If it spatially overlaps with the body, it clearly favors paradox point, because at that point there is nothing blocking it from touching the matter of the body, even if it might still lose its momentum a lot faster.

So, if I buy you it gets affected by the physical world, it would be with what it interacts. MATTER.

Where is this explained in lore or anywhere? I thought you were the guy that wanted to argument your technique didn't add matter because it didn't say matter. It said density, mass and layers but not matter.

I bought you that for the sake of the argument. So if we are going like that, why suddenly you can make interpretations out of thin air? The technique only says Paradox point eats matter. So by the same logic, it only eats matter.

How is it out of thin air?

Physics is repeatedly broken by aura in the rest of the CYOA. Matter is repeatedly described when it's created in the rest of the CYOA. Therefore it makes sense to assume that the one case where a broken-sounding physics term is used, aura physics and not regular physics are being described.

Meanwhile there is no such established inconsistency with aura. All techniques are aura phenomena.

This is perfectly consistent, and a fairer reading of the CYOA than just cherry picking or ignoring its established inconsistencies for the sake of argument.

The only technique of the two that mention breaking physics is Paradox Point. But I don't understand what you are trying to say here.

>Meanwhile there is no such established inconsistency with aura. All techniques are aura phenomena.
And how does this prove they all interact with aura outside of the one coming from the technique itself?

The release technique opening paragraphs state how aura is used in techniques, including passives. There are no exceptions to this in the CYOA. This is a completely consistent trend throughout the entire CYOA.

>And how does this prove they all interact with aura outside of the one coming from the technique itself?
It doesn't, but you're the one working in thin air if you take the argument in that direction. Everything seen interacts with aura. Not everything seen interacts with normal real world physics. Therefore aura logic is the more consistent one.

If WLE works like normal against aura, it would prove spatial techniques do ignore aura.
Paradox Point is a spatial technique.

>There is no reason to believe techniques create aura-less effects. Even infinite inertia fundamentally does everything with and to aura.

Infinite inertia attacks the user, not the technique itself. And all of this would prove Infinite Inertia does it, even in your best case. Not all techniques. Its pretty telling how your technique example is the technique against all techniques.

Not streactly true. It nullifies a technique as if the user had done so. The target is the technique. At this point I am hoping you are an ESL teenager having problems with the language. This is not an insult, but my genuine opinion, I have insulted here for the sake of it. I am not insulting you now, I am genuinely concerned for you.

Good night.

There isn't an explicit one, but presumably even the most advanced techniques take 150~ years or less since otherwise people would die before they could learn them.

I always headcanon it as taking (AP cost) years, with Great and Legendary taking 2x and 3x longer.

>>98771756
>there are consistencies and lack of exceptions but when they appear you just say they fit anyway because you assumed it. Thats your problem.
I don't have a problem with my understanding of the CYOA. You have a problem with my understanding of the CYOA.

>Welcome, now you are experiencing what I experience when I read your arguments. And all I had to do was use your argument against you.
Except my version makes sense, while you clearly distorted it somehow to create yours.

>You dont know what volume is, you dont know how to define density, you dont know what matter and mass are. You dont know what it means to make an assumption.
This was all covered in the conversation. You're just being disingenuous now.

>At this point I am hoping you are an ESL teenager having problems with the language. This is not an insult, but my genuine opinion, I have insulted here for the sake of it. I am not insulting you now, I am genuinely concerned for you.
I think you should take care of your own frustration first. Our discussion was fine as far as I'm concerned.

>Good night.
Good night anon.

The author actually caved and said years for basic techniques. I doubt it takes more than decades even for legendary ones. I like to use cost as a benchmark for how long it takes to carve them into your meridians and classification for how hard it is to find information abou them, with secret ones being the hardest but higher tier also denoting difficulty.

Also keep in mind you just learn about 45 to 60 points worth of techniques during the 3.5 days of the aura burst, and the only thing that's special about the aura burst is extremely fast aura regeneration. So this means if you have a different source of massive aura regeneartion, you also accelerate your technique learning speed.

>>98771778
Meteor drive for me. Only core master status I like is relative form, and that's half because it's also a medium tier regeneration between the much worse rebirth and much better reconciliation of the immortal form.
>>
>>98771736
Years for some techniques but then again Noriko learned hers in a few months. I think PCA may have once given a straight answer but regretted it because anons did the math and it was decisively in favor of potential maxing even for big abilities. Keeping it vague is the only thing that sort of works and remembering that training time isn't linear to aura cost (I.E don't assume a 10 ap ability takes twice as long to learn as a 5 ap ability). The issue is the structure of the cyoa itself imo but as it is an actual number can only be so long you would feel screwed for not grabbing powers, or so short you were a chump for buying any at each end of the spectrum.

Meteor drive is exponentially amplified

>>98771794
Yes. However, that's not a mortal mathematics exponential. It's an aura mathematics explonential. It works very differently.
>>
>>98771793
I don't think it's a problem. The different parts of the CYOA are synergetic, so you want to invest in all of them, and that capability then translates into how quickly you develop further. You need to stay alive, find technique knowledge, etc., not just a long stay in a cave.

>not just a long stay in a cave.
There is literally an aura ability college anon. And there aren't really enough points in the CYOA to spread out. A spread out build is just as vulnerable as any of the extremes. The core fact remains that in a CYOA that starts with 45 points the unquestionably optimum route of a vast aura system with limitless meridians is 25 points.
>>
>>98771825
More than 30 to 40 is inefficient use of your resources.

>>98771830
I like to see limitless meridians as a legendary technique. Is it worth more to you than one more legendary technique?

I also like to see each affinity as infinite in potential. Just because you didn't spread out to all affinities that doesn't mean you'll ever finish learning.
>>
In fact, limitless meridians may end up just being wasted for you. What if you'd rather invent new phase techniques for a thousand years than even touch alchemy? It could happen.
>>
>>98771838
>I also like to see each affinity as infinite in potential. Just because you didn't spread out to all affinities that doesn't mean you'll ever finish learning.
Infinite number of techniques but what each affinity does is unique and you cut yourself off from those archetypes if you don't take them. You can't enchant your weapon with Core, and you can't regenerate with Phase.

Alchemy is the best school for a solo affinity since it has the esoteric stuff. Someone will eventually mindrape him but it was fun for a while.

at the risk of sounding like tok... but those are added on top of your personal real life values

if you're already good at something, you don't lose it by taking a lower affinity that ostensibly governs that part
>>
>>98771864
You might be able to push things a little like creating a flow regen technique (body is matter), but ultimately you are gimping yourself especially on a long time scale. It's hilarious that anon thinks an extra legendary is worth losing an affinity forever. He is arguing to eternity, well I am too. The extra 9/10 aura points between a vast aura system with and without limitless meridians can't be spent anywhere more valuable on a long enough timescale (and anyone who goes less than vast aura is just stupid).
>>
>>98771889
And if that wasn't enough there are several alterations which would reasonably override it. You're really going to tell me someone with Mystic Beauty, harem mode and charismatic isn't charming? Or someone with Master or Legends Investigation / Tactics isn't clever?
