>>98770142Savage Genitalia is honestly quite weird, it fits with freak legion but freak legion itself doesn't quite fit into WoD as neatly. I feel as if a lot of the horror in WoD is less on the explicit side, and Freak Legion is almost smut-levels when it refers to Garou raping and other types of weird humiliations.
>>98770227Newfags.
>>98770231But isn't rape the ultimate horror according to modern people? Seems on par for WoD.
>>98770231Newfag detected.Anon, classic wod isn't just a horror setting, it's a kitchen sink 90's urban fantasy game with equal parts horror, mystery, action, comedy, and rediculous 90's camp. Freaks Legion was printed in the same era as hollow earth nazis fighting dinosaurs.CWoD being about "Personal Horror" is a forced fandom headcanon.

>>98770316Yes, and it was glorious.
>>98770293It's honedtly surprising that we didn't have rules for vampire rape frenzies despite it being part of canon lore for the longest time. It's called "Rapture Frenzy" in STV books.
>when you actually understand what Set represents and it makes the Setites absolutely god-damned hilarious
>>98770326Rapture Frenzy isn't really the same thing as a rape frenzy especially because white wolf never made up their damn mind on if vampires could even fuck like the ghoul book said no and then in the same year they published the smut novel anyway it's what the toreador antitribu did to themselves for fun
>>98770335isn't the point that the setites are so far from what set actually wants to represent that he hates them and they just don't know it?
Fuck White Wolf. My kindred fuck and can enjoy it, even if the Kiss is more orgasmic.
>>98768624>What are important factors to consider when picking a home / base of operations? We actually wound up in a closed-down police station. Good part of town, plenty of room, and right on the lake; but still affordable because it was a closed down fire station. Briefing room for meetings, evidence lockup to store dangerous cursed items, and some functional cells (though we haven't used those yet). Oh, and there was a law spirit (looks like a big German Shepherd with a badge on his collar and red and blue glowing yes) who's a bit of an annoyance but keeps an eye on the place when we're out.
>>98770351>Rapture Frenzy isn't really the same thing as a rape frenzyIt is in the Dhampire stv book. There are multiple takes on it in stv, but a lot of them use the name.
>>98770366It's a clan thing. Some can get hard, others can't.

>>98770373and why would everyone give a shit about a stv book? you said we had vampire rape frenzies in the canon lore
>>98770384>you said we had vampire rape frenzies in the canon loreWe do, see: >>98770293I'm saying the Mechanics, crunch, numbers&dice-math, etc, don't exist in official books. The STV books are all individually trying to come up with mechanics for an official lore detail that has none. It's not like whitewolf didn't already have forced-to-rape mechanics in other games like like wta metis thralling, so it's odd the got squemish putting it in vampire.

>>98770410They've always been mind-bogglingly abjectly evil, we were just naive and poorly informed.
>>98770410We never left the days of the east india trade company. Companies just got PR and that worked till the internet became centered around like 5 websites
>>98770418>we were just naive and poorly informed. Not at all. People knew in the 90's as well, that was why cwod was written the way it was in the first place.Issue is, things were so good in the early 2000's that everyone just kinda stopped caring. It was really hard to care much about blackrock raping african children when Halo 3 is coming out this friday and all your friends need you to help them get good in xbox live forge maps so you can all group teabag the newbs on release day.
>>98770268>>98770275No doubt it's pretty horrifying but I'm not talking about personal horror, I'm just saying Freak Legion has no subtlety
>>98770410>>98770418>>98770434I was thinking maybe this is why there's a greater demand for heroic stuff from players in horror and urban fantasy settings. It's not the late 90s/early 2000s anymore, the World of Darkness is not as interesting today because we are continuously reminded we already live in it, the bread is getting more expensive and the circuses are enshittified.
>>98770381Athletics and Brawl that's all you really need. Everything else you could add to it is about detailing whatever approach fits the character.I like having a den to keep the victims around like jail, farm or hospice but that's more of Pit or Revenant project.Nothing like having one of the victims escape only to trigger a command to walk right back in before showing that's not even the first time that has happened.
>>98770466>why there's a greater demand for heroic stuff>greater demandAnon, Vampions(superheoes with fangs) were the majority from day 1 of 1e. It's not a "greater" demamd, it's the demamd that was always there. It's thre reason that classic wod started losing customers in revised, because that was when reign hagen was fired and the dark triad forcably pivotted to "Personal Horror" above all else.
>>98770434>People knew in the 90's as wellBullshit. People act like Epstein Island materialized maybe a few years back at most, but it's always been there and it's just one example. Hell, Slick Willie has been a lifelong friend of good ol' Jeff and he's always been to the man's parties and hideaway resorts. Why then did OG White Wolf with all their original edge never mention it and pretended only scattered isolated cults engage in Epstein shit as opposed to practically the entire political class, not to mention all of Hollywood, big biz, etc? Face it, we were oblivious idiots.
>>98770381Play against the stereotype and make him a corporate sleaze leveraging his power and influence rather than back alley butt bandit.
Say you, a Garou, had the unfortunate mistake of getting friendly with a Metis, and the metis gets the rape frenzy. Should you fight back, realistically? Or is it one of those you're going to get raped to death no matter what you do situations?
>>98770488>People act like Epstein Island materialized maybe a few years back at most,Millenial act like that.GenX knew for a long time there were communists, satanists, child diddlers, and the CIA in hollywood, media, and government. They may not have known jeffery specifically was doing it, but there are references to that shit throughout the whitewolf books.
>>98770501>Or is it one of those you're going to get raped to death no matter what you do situations? This.
>>98770488>Bullshit. People act like Epstein Island materialized maybe a few years back at most, everyone always knew that hollywood had shit like that since the 80s but nobody wanted to talk about it
>>98770488>Face it, we were oblivious idiots. Not really? People knew. Nobles, Royals, Wealthy people, eccentric people, powerful people, whatever you called them always did stuff like this throughout history. From cutting out babies from pregnant women to eating until they burst to fucking toddlers to fucking animals. Most of the time, people shrug and move on.
>>98770488I don't think it's healthy to pretend that we were always as perfectly aware of how shit the world is as we are now, now that we're all permanently online and have handheld devices that regularly bombard us with overstimulation and information overload. Plus at other points in history, the zeitgeist was a lot more hopeful than it was right now. We weren't idiots back then, just less informed and less jaded.
>>98770488>Why then did OG White Wolf with all their original edge never mention it because white wolf unlike paradox's first team had the sense to not talk about ongoing real life stuff
>>98770521Why did nobody want to talk about it though? Did we lack gumption, or did we lack the ability to care?>>98770526If everyone always knew then why did nobody openly discuss it?>>98770536lol lmao

>>98769275By not making them a bunch of pussies?
>>98770550>Why did nobody want to talk about it though? They did but none of them managed to snowball as hard as the files did before they got censored into oblivion.
>>98770550>If everyone always knew then why did nobody openly discuss it?They did? But people move on. Like what happened with the whole Epstein files. It was on the news, some people got conviced, some people got murdered, some people moved offices to pretend they were punished and people moved on.It is like...how can I say this...In my country, everybody knows every municipality steals from the government, from the people, from the municipality itself. Everybody knows nepotism is alive and well. You know what happens? Every few years, a few out of hundreds get on the news, some people face jail time and it repeats.
>>98770550>Why did nobody want to talk about it though? Did we lack gumption, or did we lack the ability to care? Now this is probably a bit too serious for a 4chan table top general but I feel like "why did nothing happen after princess diana was killed despite the fact that everyone was convinced back then that it was a hit job?" is very close if not even the exact same question as "why are none of the epstein friends being arrested?" so nothing important in that area really changedmost of us are just not and are never going to be in a position to go after rich and powerful people while staying in the legal system we live in and back then people just prefered to pretent everything is alright as long as they themselves are safe at best they would compain to friends in private (which is how everyone "knew") now however when you complain about the 1% abusing child stars everyone on twitter can read it! not that it changes anything but we can all complain together
>>98770550How do you publicly proliferate controversial information without the internet? You think the Epstein class allowed people to openly shout about this on radio stations, TV channels, or in newspapers magazines?
>>98770639>You think the Epstein class allowed people to openly shout about this on radio stations, TV channels, or in newspapers magazines? They did. They just coined the term "Conspiracy Theorists" and convinced the normies they were schizos while still showing them on air for those sweet, sweet view numbers.
>>98770669Using conspiracy theorists as a freak show is different to them having their own platforms where they're free to share their message without ridicule or moderation.
>>98770681Anon, they did have their own platforms. The freak show was the strat to de-legitamize them in the eyes of normies so that they were ostrasized and forced into the corners of society.

>>98769941PoD is a good idea held back by massive inflexibility. Most bookmarks, including the big all splats one, suck, and there aren't that many differences between them. Landless play is a pretty awful experience when it should realistically be great, because you're constantly facing expulsion unless you're a vampire playing on the all vampires map. Hunters just aren't very fun unless you're a true faith knuckledragger that just maxxes prowess. Asia is an especially crappy region because unlike the middle east (which has a variety of clans in it), it has very low character option variety. And it wastes a lot of energy on baffling choices like a completely overhauled single combat system (most recent update) that's still as common as normal single combats (not very). I want to like it, but it's clear it's made for wikidiving secondaries who want to play as either some canon methuselah, or a comically overpowered custom character.

>>98771517I'll contribute your left kidney.
>>98771517As someone who's daydreamed about this once or twice, you'd need a lot of fucking money. Paradox claimed in 2015 to have bought the IP for "tens of millions", so anywhere from 10-90 mil. What with the inflation since then, even if you paid them what they paid for it, it'd still probably be too little for them to justify it for themselves. Even most privately wealthy individuals can't realistically buy IPs. Making sure that even unprofitable brands never sell for less than 10 mil is how corporations keep IPs from being owned by anyone outside of the corporate sector.
>>9877142495 years from publication anon, we aren't ever going to see a public domain WoD. Not for any of us at least. At best some company who know what they are doing will eventually get the IP, or a at least a company which is more supportive of fan content. Paradox has come around to the understanding that tabletop content is wholly dependant on it's STs and community contributors to actually survive far slower than it should have. >>98771535>>98771517It was tens of millions of Swedish kroner. So considerably less than what you might think as the exchange rate is about 10:1.It sold for at least $4 million in 2015. Maybe even double that as I don't think anyone publicly released the exact amount. So I would assume at least double to triple that would be needed. Paradox still seems confident enough in it to keep pouring money in despite all their projects seem to land on their face. A little outside /tg/ money.
>>98771517Because of the current Steam sale I have about $0.91 from the cards I sold, I can contribute this
>>98771553>we aren't ever going to see a public domain WoD.Not unless someone changes the retarded public domain laws. The amount of control companies can have on Intellectual Property they didn't even create is demonic. If I had the power, I'd make public domain Death of the Author OR 50 years, whichever comes first. I think very few people actually want to tell an "official" WoD story, but they do want to break it down for parts and steal what they like. It's just annoying to hear "venery" or "viscount" when they're clearly just talking about a blood hunt and a Prince. Horror's always benefitted from iconic public domain material, and even the stuff that's not public domain is usually pretty happy to do crossover and reference. But then you have WoD which is owned by IP nazis that don't even want to acknowledge the "wrong" versions of the setting. Nuke Sweden.
>>98770142Zoomers being groomed into retarded puriteens is so funny to me. They would rather jerk off to you raping their gf in front of them than just admitting big titties and goth girls are hot. Pathetic generation.
>>98771517Why would I pay 1 single dime for this dead IP? Nobody owns elves and dwarves, and nobody owns the concepts of vampires or other wod splats either. I can do what I want with the concepts without all the baggage.
>>98771344Ever got pinched so hard it made you jizz your pants?
>>98771732
>>98771719True but sometimes it's nice to just be able to use the terms. Like if you want to do fleshcrafting vampires, it can feel a little "ugh why can't I just call them Tzimisce?"Plus, some smaller creators may feel intimidated by the potential of being struck by a frivolous lawsuit that they might lack the funds to fight.
>>98771772Just the concept of clans, traditions and stuff like elysium being neutral ground is a pretty useful concept
I have never played VTM(or any tabletop rpg) before, should i start with V5 or V20? I've played VTMB and its closer to V20 I believe, but I'd imagine it would be easier to find V5 games since its newer
>>98771816Play Deviant: the Renegades instead.
>>98771816V20 all the way.
>>98771816Start with whatever game version you can find. If you have never played a ttrpg before you likely better being on the player side of the table.
>>98771816Find a group first, see what they run.
>>98770889Damn it I'd successfully repressed that guy.>>98770939Agreed.
>>98771816I'd tell you the differences between VtM20 and 5e but that is sort of hard if you have no knowledge of ttrpgs. V20 is sort of the weird chud grognard edition, it's edgier and rouger around the edges and has all the beloved lore. V5 is the corporate streamline edition.it's sort of like playing dnd3.5e vs dnd5e or god forbiden even 4e, if that means anything to you. In the end, I'd argue what's more important is finding a group that fits you. And perhaps asking more specific questions. You can find games for both though V5 is indeed more represented on the common LfG websites.
>>98771517Not enough, you think Paradox would ungrip the Ip for anything under the cost of making Bloodlines 2?
>>98771473Hoh boy
>>98771792Yeah and pretty much anyone who focused on vampires for a story gives them different lineages and powers. That's the lasting mark. Vampire rules and neutral meeting spots sometimes. Maybe I'm just the wrong kind of autistic, but there are some things I'd change barely anything about if I were doing my own thing, and a lot of things I'd excise entirely. The filed-off serial number names perturb me probably too much.
>Deviant: the Renegades is mentionedTis be a sign.I'm familiarizing myself with Deviant while making an editable charsheet by way of making character, and currently trying to wrap my head around Scars.Scars can have multiple Variations tied to them, but each Variation can only be tied to one scar.My question is: how do you combine several scars to have one that has the desired for RP purposes effects? For example: I'm making a guy that channels infernal energy. Usually takes the form of tossing fireballs around. But he could tap into more power and turn halfway demonic, incinerating stuff on touch, plus a bit of strength and durability as a sort of powered-up form. The catch is, this Monstrous Transformation has a tendency to flare up hue on it's own when he's very stressed, and he needs to concentrate to switch it off.I managed to narrow it down to the following Scars:>Involuntary Stimulus •• (Intense stress; Reactive, Unpredictable)>Power Build-Up •• (Volcanic)>Alternate Persona •• (Superior Persona, Bestial)>Conspicuous Appearance •••• (Terrible)>Murderous Urge •••Do I mash these together, or do just stack a bunch of Indelible Mark deviations atop (one) of the first two Scars?
>>98768624More people should've answered the TQ, it's a good one. Anyway location is important, and not always in the way you might think. Isolation is a double edged sword. You're away from prying eyes but that also means if someone finds and comes for you, they have no reason to hold anything back. Homes/bases in the nice part of town with a lot of people and good police response times means there's a bit of mutually assured destruction if someone attacks you. Even those who pretend not to care about keeping the supernatural secret know the hammer will come down on them hard if they expose themselves like that. If your character is sociable and subtle enough to get away with it, it isn't a bad strategy. I've done that.Size and comfort are also important. You should be able to shelter the whole coterie/cell/etc at the same time, and if your home isn't cozy, what's the point? The Hollow in my current CtL game is very cozy, with decent but not opulent amenities. A favorite in a game I played a while ago was my Ventrue's mansion. Built from scratch in the countryside but not too far away from the city (and not terribly isolated at all, just rural), it was built in a classic style with all the modern amenities. Extremely comfy haven.
>>98772107>More people should've answered the TQ, it's a good one.It is one of those questions that requires a lot of "what is the game about?" consideration. You can have all kinds of shit at your base, but most people have an aspiration tied to it. Like keeping people in the basement for your character to molest
>>98771344Ah, Sandmen, my favorite Guild.
I don’t know how to say this, but if everyone in this thread became a Wraith (Shoutout to the Emerald Legion HELL YEAH), I get the feeling most anons would be soul-forged within the first couple hours.
>>98772182>BUM BUM BUM PUM PU-UM KINIROI BAKA-ANSU YOAnd because i don't know the language outside of East Island Animation thingies, (and because of the nature of the thing discussed) i had always thougth, that it was "Golden Retard" rather than "Golden Vacation".
I'm looking to hack a system for some urban fantasy. I'm leaning towards one of the Mage games, but I'm not really sure which edition to read to make that decision. In your opinions, which Mage would work best as a base for a homebrew hack that removes the setting particulars of World of Darkness? As I understand it, there's Mage: The Ascension and Mage: The Awakening, and multiple editions of each.
>>98772316As much as I loathe to admit it, Awakening is probably the system that fits your criteria. CofD’s toolbox approach and all that.Though I will maintain personally, Ascension’s lore and world-building is VASTLY superior.
>>98769952Hollow One SEXXXXXXXOOOOOOOO
>>98772316awakening 2e. CofD is far less setting specific in general, with a greater toolbox approach. Mage the Ascension in particular is also incredibly setting=system, magic is very peculiar in how it operates. In awakening, magic is far more generic. If you aren't running powerful mages, use Hunter: The Vigil or even the base CofD book instead.
>>98772359>>98772342Thanks, folks. I think a toolbox is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll take a look.
Guys help, I'm almost at the end of bloodlines and with every mission I'm getting more and more attracted to the Deb of nightAlso who is the one sending you chess emails?
>>98771517Most of you have such awful ideas about the setting I'd contribute money to a counter campaign.

>>98772665Just finished the game. What a ride. The last time I played it to the end was like 16 years ago. I remember having to get a friend to make it through the ocean house, and we still scared our teenage asses off. But man, I forgot what an insufferable slog the last levels were.Anyways, I figured it was Jack. Just didn't expect him to use chess metaphors.
>>98773167Congratulations. Replaying it myself for October as a Ventrue. And yes, the last levels suck... an unfortunate side effect of rushing the game in like 6 monthsOh man the fucking Malkavian labyrinth. I somehow didn't know about it until this 3rd playthrough and I shouldn't have played it at Friday night. I always unintentionally skipped it entirely. Sounds like that was for a good reason. Just joking, the sunlight window is beautiful.Maybe it's because I never wanted to stay in Grout's mansion for longer than I needed to.
>>98773216I was surprised when I stumbled across the labyrinth too, I think it's part of the unofficial patch, which I never played before. But I liked the manneqins.I tried a Ventrue playthrough a some years ago, until I got to the sewers. Fuck that. Which is also what I thought when I fought Ming Xiao as a melee build, and then I toggled godmode. Though the sheriff was surprisingly easy.Anyways, have fun. I know I missed a few things, so maybe I'll do another playthrough next year. Maybe as a filthy Trem*re, going full cammie
>>98772948Thanks.
>>98773246Don't remember that line when I played as Tremere, just the ones from Andrei (my beloved). Huh. I'll have to play one again.
okay given that vtmb was mentioned are any of the mods beside the clan quest one good?i finished all the clans with that mod already but it IS october
>>98773167Nobody expecting things from him is half of how he got away with it.>>98773216Who the fuck did Grout hire to get a sunlight window that has actual sunlight going through it at night and how much did he have to pay?
>>98769050>then ground down into primal energy by the Syndicate.Hey, at least they ain't worthless anymore.>>98769275We turn them into marketable plushies, easy.
>>98773167Nta but while we're on the subject, I play a malkavian for my 2nd playthrough of bloodlines and I felt it was very much the same as the first playthrough with a coat of paint on the dialogues, the voices while idle and some tv announcer talks that changed. Are the malkavians special interactions missable? Like I didn't get either the stop sign or the tv dialogue discussed earlier in the thread so I'm wondering if I missed more. I'm playing on the gog patched edition.
>>98772948Welp, there goes my one actual contribution to society.Brb gotta go play in the traffic. Thanks anon.
>>98772107... Any secret passages, torture rooms, gigantic libraries? Also to answer the thread question I'd say whatever you can afford first. From an independant hunter perspective I don't see them having a big house with everything they need. As long as it's inconspicuous and you can sleep on the ground it's okay. Also you kinda have to become the janny of the appartement complex even if you aren't one since pest are spying on you I guess. Oh and good isolation... But then again, you have to afford it.
>>98773216>Oh man the fucking Malkavian labyrinth. I somehow didn't know about it until this 3rd playthrough andBecause Wesp added it recently. Well, recently is pretty subjective at this point as the game is 22 years old. But that labyrinth was added in something like 11th version of his patchIIRC there were some screenshots of labryinth from the earlier press releases so he or someone he worked with created from scratch. And in his classic style he added something completely unnecessary too, Kent's body has no reason to be there. Games can have unsolved mysteries, not everything has to be solved>>98773339I assume Wesp's intention was to show the player the time passes and the time's morning now at that point. Other than picking money from Venus, there isn't any hint of the time passing at all IIRC>>98773369Malks can use dementation in dialogue and I'm pretty sure that depends on the dementation you have, so if you never put any points into it you probably missed some dialogue options>>98773316Not really. Antitribu has some good combat additions but it is simply way too buggy, I couldn't finish it the last time I played it because of game breaking bugs
>>98773316Antitribu is buggy as shit and made by the one guy in all of existence who thinks that vtmb's combat is the main selling point but it's powers are very cool and for the most part actual adaptations of the tabletop... when they work. i can not emphasize enough how buggy this mod isfinal nights is less ambitious in both the way the discipline powers work and general scope it just paints over the clans with other clans and most discipline powers have a counterpart in the main game, but it works from what i remember pretty bug free Bloodlines Barabbah's Addon is a even less interesting with it's discipline powers as for example Temporis and Chimerstry are both only stunsbut Clan Quest Mod is the biggest and most polished mod we have so i would say all of these are worse... have you tried the sabbat route from that mod already?
>>98773316there is a VR mod comming but it's only gonna be released next month
>>98773574There's zero way VtM:B is flexible enough for someone to mod VR in
>>98773629It's built on source, Valves engine. That thing is impressively flexible, plus it's probably the best understood engine in the world for modders.
>>98773316Which mod is that? I was looking into mods to add other clans, but many of them seemed to add in further mechanics that didn't really seem interesting or fun to me.
>>98773416>... Any secret passages, torture rooms, gigantic libraries? With the Haven? Yeah, she dayslept in a secret chamber hidden behind a bookcase in her bedroom. At first she set the trigger book to Dracula thinking it was too obvious to be taken seriously, but changed that when the golem that lived with her (long story) discovered it when she went to actually just read the book to quote "to learn more about vampires". She changed it to something more innocuous after that. As a neonate, she doesn't have enough books to justify a giant library, and buying filler books is performative. But she does have a shelf or two in her bedroom, and a few more in the parlor (only normal, masquerade compliant books in the parlor, since mortal guests might be over). No torture rooms, she's not the type to do it for fun, has good disciplines for extracting information anyway. She does have a cell for holding prisoners in the basement. Emergency use. The spooky basement is also filled with a lot of various weird objects she's picked up over the years, including the head of Talos, the giant automaton from Greek mythology.
>TQMaximum seclusion, a grand library, enough room for studying in peace and quiet. Underground preferred.
>>98773316I played wargames, it was neat but they didn't edit all the guns to be period accurate
>>98771205Princes of Darkness. It's been baintained for the last 6 years. Literally the biggest mod for CK3 aside from Elder Kings 2 and After the End 2.
>>98773340I don't think they'll be very happy about those woof plushies, techie. And where can I get one? Preferably big enough to hug.
>>98773915It's impressive that the guys invented well after the Giovanni as a part of their backstory end up completely mogging the shit out of them.
>>98774062is it? like yeah they do but is it really impressive to mog on the giovanni?these guys somehow lost in popularity(clan book sales) against setites and ravnos how do you even do that?
>>98773972Yes that was what we were originally talking about in the post I replied to. What I mean is that Paradox should just bite the bullet and make an official game and sell it. The same way they are doing for After the End; the newest game they are developing is Afterworld and that's definitely because of the mods popularity on CK3.
>>98774082I actually fuck with the Setites. They're not really good PCs in most games, but they're excellent antagonists that know what they are. Evil snake cultist vampires with some Egypt LARP. Is it the kind of thing that needs to be a major factor? No. You don't "need" Setites at all in your game the same way you should probably have all of the Cam 7 be featured in a Camarilla game. But the Setites know what they are, and what they are is tropey villain fodder. With some added depth if you want, but said depth doesn't contradict or undermine their Conan-ass conceit. Ravnos on the other hand suffer from the same problem the Assamites do. Instead of leaning into their actual niche (roaming tricksters and blood-mad assassins), they instead leaned into their ethnic origins, which made them feel guilty about making an "ethnic" vampire into a (usually antagonistic) gimmick, so they tacked on a bunch of other bullshit. The Ravnos they eventually nuked out of shame and the Assamites they reinvent every edition, always finding new ways to suck their dick even harder.Nobody liked the Gios because they do like, four different things at once, but only one of those things are unique. Ventrue do the richfag thing better, Lasombra do the thinly veiled thug better, both do the power-hungry social climber thing better, and the Tzimisce do the insanely inbred old worlder thing better. All that really makes them stand out is Necromancy, so when they designed a far more open and versatile (in concept anyway) Necro Clan, everyone flocked to them.
>"Erm, umm, cheese to meet you?"Are wererats a thing in WoD?
>>98774207Yes they're terrorists and chill with the hobo woofs
>>98774207>Are wererats a thing in WoD?Yep, one of my fellow players is playing a Ratkin Engineer. He can, among other things, slap together temporary working devices from junk.
>>98774207They are craziest were-creatures of all. The Ratkin book is pretty cool.
>>98774207yes and they want to kill us all. they are actual wyrd cultists who forsake gaia and now want to kill everything else with plagues because that's somehow wyrd
>>98774062Honestly, it would be really funny to just replace all Giovanni with Cappadocians in a chronicle. How'd they adapt to modern conditions as a clan? Would they keep sitting in their tombs all night and looking at corpses? If someone makes a doc for what the Cappadocians would be doing had they survived the Giovanni / Giovanni stuff never happened, I'd buy it for a dollar.>>98774154Never understood Setites. Reading some of the clanbook (one with a Setite pedophile character in it) gave me little idea about their shtick besides temptation and sale of drugs.
>>98774109>the newest game they are developing is Afterworld and that's definitely because of the mods popularity on CK3.Technically it was a spot in the eye of a dev for a while, but the mod's popularity definitely influenced their will to pursue it.

>>98774243>If someone makes a doc for what the Cappadocians would be doing had they survived the Giovanni / Giovanni stuff never happened, I'd buy it for a dollar.it already exists it's in the stv vault and we have it in the trope. it's nothing major to be honest>How'd they adapt to modern conditions as a clan? Would they keep sitting in their tombs all night and looking at corpses?kinda their other job in cainite society that of ventrue's favorite occult advisor is something the tremere took and just did better and cheaper in the dark age books already which kinda combined with japeth's leadership (which was preparing them for being sacrifical lambs for the giovanni) pushed them out of cainite society centuries before it pushed them into some rotting giovanni's mouth so most people who run with the cappadocians as a clan i modern night also replace the clan leadership with lazarus which turns them into archeologists with positive ties to setites >gave me little idea about their shtick besides temptation and sale of drugs.setites kinda just want to be the counter culture to whatever is the current culture. they don't care about the drugs themselves but for the fact that they are considered morally wrong or corrupt by society or in other word vice. they don't sell drugs in amsterdam for example. the base setite philisophy is that society is a trap made to control you by fully making you fall to your vices they can show you how shit your society is and that it has no control over you and then by showing you that your vices also have no control over you you can become a fully realized being ... and then join their cult and paths of enlightment and get sweet ass egyptian magic on top of thatlike they protected the trujah and cappadocians for free because it showed how vile and fucked up the other clans been and yes they think the brujah are stupid wannabes especially because their clan weakness makes it more likely for them to turn wight instead of convert
>>98774243Sounds like a good idea for an STV book. I might even write it myself if I can get over my distaste for the idea of Paradox getting a cut of any sales. As for the Setites, it's best to not overthink them. Their clanbook is their sales pitch, how they view themselves. Truth is, they may dress it up with however much left hand gnostic nonsense they want, but they're ultimately just a degenerate cult that wants to drag you down to their level, so they can control you while telling you you're free. If you care for cross-splat at all, there's also the fact that they're clearly Wyrmshitters, and worse, most of them don't realize they're actually Wyrmshitters. They're a cult, and like all cults their beliefs sound like incomprehensible nonsense unless you're in the cult. And those within the cult might think they got there through reason, but they're actually in there for emotional/social reasons. Think of them as fun, tropey antagonists and you'll do no wrong. For example, they have a temple called the Fire Court where anyone can come and learn from their legitimately impressive occult repositories... but to do so they have to subject themselves to horrid freaky rites at the Setite's pleasure. Diddy party but at least you learn some blood sorcery afterwards.
>>98769127So what do people think of such preliminary Gifts? There are obviously going to be more (faction specific Gifts)
>>98774621That definitely makes them way more interesting than drug peddlers. I doubt I'll be able to fit them in my chronicle (morally irredeemable cultist niche is already fit by Baali) but it's worth considering. Not sure how that works on the player's end however. Serpentis doesn't seem interesting as a playable discipline either.>>98774681*snooze*
>>98774681A good start (not overly enthusiastic about incorporating a weakness to cold iron / silver personally). I am looking through some of the books to pick out gift options myself. I am currently going through the Corax book at the moment. So far I have two gifts and a flaw I think would be suitable.
>>98774738Is it that bad?>>98774802The weaknesses that exist now are preliminary and may be temporary
>>98774109Sorry, I'm dumb. I thought for a moment PoD is some Chonicles of Darkness line I am unfamiliar with.I'm afraid making a separate game for it would not be profitable for Paradox since they're already maintaining their existing hit games with skeleton crews. At least PoD serves as a good reason to buy CK3 without having any responsibility on Paradox's side.
>>98774848Paradox is a bit bizarre, they sell pretty popular games, load them up the ass with DLC, and then man them with a skeleton crew while the rest of their staff works on new DLC or rarely a new game every five years? I'm not sure if it's because Swedenland has paper currency but they act as if they have no money despite HOI4, CK3, Stellaris, and EU all being pretty popular and all looking as if they're maintained with shoestring budgets

>>98774815>it that bad? It's more about how everyone already gave their ideas and it has reached the point where it's not interesting to throw shit at the wall.Like no one has an idea of the base faction of moths so coming up with subfactions and their powers is the kind of aimless that makes me just point at fucking pokemon of all things and tell people to pan it.
>>98775730As if we would want anything to do with a filthy leech's pet...
>>98775764Your kind is not above acts of bestiality and corruption.
>>98775747>no one has an idea of the base faction of mothsDo they particularly need factions?Or is that just the word now for any form of organised group, even if they're not really in conflict with one another?Like, are Woof tribes 'factions' when they're all part of the Garou Nation? Or is the Garou Nation a faction in comparison to BSDs?
>>98775819Factions can exist within factions, so I'd say both the Nation and the Tribes are factions, the individual septs can be factions, the packs can be factions. It all depends on size and scale
>>98775819>>98775832And to further explain, a faction doesn't need to exist in conflict with another, there just needs to be a sort of friction that may cause disagreement such as particular politics or opinions on topics. Conflict is not necessarily open when it comes to factions, so really you can just consider factions to refer to organized groups with differing opinions regarding a certain topic or question. In the case of the "Gaia" question, the Nation and BSD are both factions, but when it comes to Kinfolk, Honour, or the Litany really all the tribes are factions
>>98775266It isn't about budget, it's more about making as much money as possible. Paradox publishes 2 games I'm interested in, Across the Obelisk and Prison Architect and they publish a game I used to have interest in, Knights of Pen and Paper. I believe all 3 of those games were acquired by Paradox after they got popular, they weren't the original publisherFor Prison Architect they removed base game features to sell as DLCs and also they started adding weird, supernatural DLCs to it. They genuinely ruined this game, had someone else bought them the game would be in a much better situationAcross the Obelisk is a Slay the Spire game that has F2P MMORPG tier cosmetic sellingI don't remember what they did to Knights of Pen and Paper it's been a long time, but they did some absurd money grabbing there tooEvery single thing they obtain they'll try to milk it extremely hard with the lowest effort possible, it isn't related to them having bad budget or whatever
>>98775853It's because they're a public company who need to increase shareholder value by doing the dumbest things possible. And they will NEVER increase shareholder value enough. What should a Camarilla vampire who successfully convinced elders to allow him a rural town as his domain to protect it and run it? I know rural areas are Garou territory.

>>98777153I broadly agree. I'm interested in VtM for vamp politics and noire-with-fangs and good old fashioned trenchcoat and katana fights. I'm not that interested in performative navel gazing. The philosophical aspects of Vampire work best as background and subtext.
was it ever explained why albrecht chose to wither away with a girlboss heir in w5 instead of calling in his dreamspeaker ex girlfriend for magick favors to fix the garou nation?
>>98776401>I know rural areas are Garou territory.Generally the "woods are werewolf territory" thing is a "We don't know and we don't want to die to check" thing but there are more woods than there are werewolvesBut then you've got cases like the anarch free states that are overrun with an abundance of vampires under every land fill so the werewolves have caught on because holy shit there's actually a damn good reason why the camarilla has their rules so the anarch free states are constantly swarmed with werewolves

>>98777297Rank 6 Gifts are underpowered. Most of the good Gifts are Rank 5.
>>98777297Silence, dog.>Turns you into a chairYou're right but it's very retarded of him to have more cards to play and still fold the way he does. Then again, TOJ and W5 are both considered rather bullshit when it comes to the lore
>>98777300I thought archspheres were a hoax. Is there a point in getting sphere 6 instead of diversifying?
>>98777304I imagine things get Jojo-esque at sphere 6 and above but that'd be a bit too based
>>98777307>>98777304Spheres 6-10 come in two forms. The ones in Horizon which let you do anything at Sphere 6 (that you can convince your ST of) and the ones in Masters of the Art which go from 6-9 and vary immensely in utility from 'Just reprinting lower level effects' to 'Does anything period'.
>>98777304spheres eventually become all samey past 5, like you can do everything other spheres can. with forces just make a new force that interacts with that sphere, with entropy you become the author, with spirit you can completely reshape the tellurian to influence the material world
>>98777300>its only when you invest exp in spheres 6 or higher that you start gaining permanent paradoxThat is objectively untrue
>>98777297rank 6 werewolves are not much stronger than rank 5 werewolves. They're just more famous and have more gifts. Werewolves start off the strongest but are capped pretty hard by the fact they don't live all that long in the grand scheme of things. This is of course entirely missing the point. Because magick is a very different power from rage and gifts. It doesn't matter whether some dreamspeaker could beat Albrecht or is stronger. What matters is they have incredibly broad utility powers. Though I don't think a single dreamspeaker is fixing the Garou Nation, it's too fundamentally fucked. Also the entire Albrecht plot was itself fucking retarded and W5 writers need to be executed for it. It just makes no sense and I genuinely think they just wanted to start a "Let's replace Albrecht with a Grown Girlboss" plotline.
>>98777307Jojo is the changelings
So in cities are werewolves all either Bone Gnawer hobos or Glass Walker corpos? Is there no like... middle ground of just average city dwellers?
>>98777307Jojo involves specific abilities and having to use them creatively to solve problems and get around difficult road-blocks, usually with some weird digression about obscure scientific theories to justify or inspire a weird power. Mage is too freeform to be Jojo.
>>98777314iirc it was a rather offhand text from Masters of the Art saying that archmages gain paradox for staying on earth. and you only become an archmage by having a sphere 6 or higher
>Reach 6 in a sphere>Decide I want to fix the world>Some absolute troll of a mage with 6 in a sphere somewhere else in the world thinks you're doing it wrong so he undoes your doing>you undo his undoing>reeeee autistically at each other for the rest of the universe's lifespan because neither of you allows the other to do anythingAlien X-tier existence. Truly, only non-existence can lead to freedom.
>>98777319The NPC pack of Glass Walkers in my ExWoD game ran a chop shop and were pals with the City Mother of New York. She was miffed the party killed them and exploded their shop.
>>98777317This is probably closer to the truth>>98777320Meant more so the specific power level of the stand abilities rather than the actual specificity, like Soft and Wet's ability to steal the properties of anything it can touch though I guess Mage can do this at earlier spheres anyway
>>98777323That's why the real win condition is to reach Arete 10, attain oneness with all things, and ascend beyond reality, never to return.
>>98777323I don't know if this was the case for Ascension but I remember this being explicitly the entire thing with Archmages in Awakening. Even the evil dictator archmages made nice with the normal ones. It was just that they were constantly trying to scam each other, interpreting the "Pax Arcana" creatively to influence reality. What does Ascension say about Archmages?
>>98777319Other than Red Talons I'd think werewolves can exist anywhere, they'd just be more likely to be around the suburbs if they aren't Bone Gnawers or Walkers. I could see Shadow Lords existing in downtown areas for instance
>>98777322Stuff like immortality (after living too long), and life magic stuff can hit you with permanent paradox, you can be a starting level PC mage and have enough permanent paradox to start taking lethal if you want to do thatIn the lore mages brag about how much paradox they got
>>98777332Depends on the source. Earliest books they just mentored Masters and worked for Ascension. Later material made them a fail state of would-be gods who can't Ascension and keep trying to change reality in an obsessive way. Personally I hate the MotA interpretations.
>>98777142>The idea vampires need to cling to their humanity to preserve themselves is fine. But I've never seen a well written way of implementing it in the rules.Same. It's a genuinely interesting topic with nuance to it, but the mechanics related to it always have sucked, and it's trying to represent something so complicated and multifaceted that I'm not sure if good humanity mechanics are possible.
>>98777335I wasn't saying it was the only way to gain permanent paradox, just that it was why archmages are eventually forced into the umbra. It was similar to the immortality rules but I can't find the exact like ig
>>98776401Ghoul the head of local law enforcement and whoever's running the city's budget.
>>98777339I genuinely think a vampire should have a humanity score in the same way you have an alignment in unmentionable games. It SHOULD have positive and negative effects. And it going up and down SHOULD be the purview of the ST alone, with players trusted to pick a score that's right for their character.I reckon that is how most people who don't play it by the books do it anyways.
>>98777319Aside from red talons im pretty sure there are ways to incorporate each tribe into an urban environment. Black fury activist comes to mind. There is a sample silent strider galliard that travels from city to city to perform concerts.
>>98777347Doing it like alignments, maybe with like five or six options from 'Saint' to 'Wight' would be cool, with the Player only changing if the ST decides his habitual behavior has changed enough to warrant it between Stories.
>>98777343I believe you are thinking of this.
>>98777319I swear it was mentioned somewhere that after those two Tribes, the Children of Gaia and Fianna have pretty decent city representation. And I think there's a Silver Fang house that's Urrah as well. But I don't know if its stated what sort of lives said Garou have in the cities. I imagine Children of Gaia would be the most likely to just be middle class, trying to get in with the humans. Fianna and Silver Fangs would really depend on the families in question they're involved with.
>>98777394>tfw no white hick redneck royalty Silver Fang inbred as hell and just moved to the city cause Pentex and "da guvment"
izanami was the 1st kindred, not caine
>>98777434First kindred was God, all vampires are descended from him.
>>98777319Just because a tribe is more likely to do something doesn't mean only they do something or they only do that somethingPeople or in this case wolves aren't stereotypes
>>98777319Werewolves don't have to represent their tribe 100%, it's just that they're likely to do so. Other tribes could live in cities but you'd need a reason for being there (and the ability to not throw a chimpout whenever someone bumps into you)
>>98777319>Didn't dedicate his work clothesTypical
>>98769631>>98770403STs have to manage a dozen characters while the Players only keep track of one. It makes sense to give the NPCs less dice rolling to keep things flowing quickly. This isn't D&D after all.
>>98768769>Alpha 2.0 on Monday the 5thOh boy, Happy Halloween. I'm excited to see how it's changed. Just in time for my IRL tables campaign to be wrapping up. I'll give GMing a shot.
>>98768769The most mentioned Discipline was one not in the playtest. Protean was the most mentioned discipline in all the feedback, and it wasn’t even in the packet. Impressive! It was not great of us to only show you where part of it went (Animalism), rather than the full picture. As part of the audit of Discipline powers, Protean powers were sorted a couple of ways, and you will see the other parts of it in Alpha 2.0.What are we guessing?
>>98777446The queen of England is also descended from Jesus. Is she a vampire? Demons/Angels are descended from God, are they all vampires?
>>98777434I do like other cultures having non-Christian origins for vamperism. It should be more common. I don't see a connection to Izanami though. Say more on that.
>>98777356I hate the Umbra. If I were in charge you'd only be able to enter it for, like, an hour tops. Maybe Changelings, since they're from there, can hang out a bit longer. It should be a failed state to get lost in the umbra like this.
>>98776664>>98776705Thank you, will add these to the document.Fluff naming and descriptions can be done later.I think we should try to get the weremoths to be somewhat playable (at least in low-level scenarios) first.
>>98777922Which is why I won't have my player even roll for Presence when his girl has 5 in both Appearance and Charisma and she is surrounded by bums, why roll when they're already captivated? But the ST didn't just roll fewer dice in the V6 alpha playtest: the ST didn't roll dice at all.The Forge liked to quote VTM as an inspiration for their storyshit games, but I'm not asking my players about the city or their clan as a whole, let alone interrupting the action to negotiate with them what could be lurking behind the corner - where is the suspense, the fear of the unknown? In fact PBTAesque game design is anathema to horror games, as the only horror is the gameplay. And just like that, our stunning and brave developers needed a playtest to discover STs are interested in rolling dice.
>>98777974The ST doesn't roll dice for basic enemies, but major enemies would use player-like sheets and roll dice as such. This was explicitly stated in the thing you didn't real. They just didn't hold your hand and tell you how do make a major NPC in the first playtest. If I were running it, I'd just make a PC sheet. Sounds like you want more hand holding instead of less.
>>98770945You need triple digit IQ to understand it.
>>98777942What's your problem with it anon?>If I were in charge you'd only be able to enter it for, like, an hour tops.Maybe take a page from Sergei Lukyanenko's Night Watch series, making Umbra a hungry life-draining dimension? The deeper you move into it, the more distorted space and time become there, i.e. greater "depths" having extra actions per turn. The flipside of it is that it also sucks the life out of you that much faster.I wonder if it would be possible to realize this concept through the Avatar Storm somehow.
>>98777988One, there are rules for making elite NPCs in V6.Two, elite NPCs still don't use dice or character sheets.Three, using dice for NPCs of any variety is optional, no matter how major or minor.Four, absolutely nowhere is it suggested that STs can or should make "player-like sheets" for NPCs. Even the optional dice rolls still utilise the one-size-fits-all NPC Level.Don't accuse people of not reading something when you yourself are making shit up.
>>98778070The whole WoD is modern fantasy. I find the most joy in exploring how the "modern" mixes with the "fantasy." If I wanted to exist solely in Thor's fey kingdom, I'd play D&D. Earth is where I live. Earth is the "modern" have of the genre's name. If a party can jump into the Umbra and never look back it's because the metaplot writers/story teller completely failed at actually blending the two halves. From either metaphysical perspective, it's death. Mages know the universe is bound up by consensus. Going outside of that means people don't believe in your existence anymore. You basically commit magical suicide. Changelings might be inhumans, so they can walk the line more. Entering the hedge that separates garden from forest, but even then there are limits. What does it mean for a character who leaves a story? In a very unreal way they are deader than a corpse. A corpse can haunt the narrative. Someone who removes themselves is not even a character in the story of life.
>>98776610Sorry, that was rude.
How would you have ended The Reckoning?>Avatar Storm: It's actually way less important than you thought. It might not even have happened!>Gehenna: End the current metaplot & start over>End Streetlevel Mandate: Masquerade is forever broken and supernaturals exist openly to do actual world changing things>Secret Other Thing
>>98778309You can't do masquerade breaks without breaking the entire setting. It should be an alternative setting like dark ages. I think it would be sort of interesting and people would like the option, but most probably want the classic experience, it's part of the fantasy.
Just finished doing some landscaping. I'm doing my part to maintain perfect order, are you?
>>98778309honestly i would probably have gone with stop the apocalypse/gehenna/whatever from happening but you might only have bought time and there are still agents who want to bring in the end of the world
>>98777938>The queen of England is also descended from Jesus. Is she a vampire? Demons/Angels are descended from God, are they all vampires? No, they are both reptilians.
>>98778364Ah, so Avatar Storm.
>>98778309Third thing, end the Camarilla. At least balkenize their global vampire empire into smaller vampire nations. Each of these population mega regions could be a kingdom/democracy/cult/whatever else the scrambling sabbat/anarch/camarilla can come up with after all their god-kings fucked off to Israel for two decades.
>>98778371yeah but more with the players being actually involved in stopping the start of the end times
>>98778382Why?
>>98778309i don't think gehenna/toj been a bad idea as such you could have blown up the metaplot and then do a metaplot free edition like the 20th anni editions or do a reboot but just don't be pants on head retarded about itWhite wolf handeled everything involving it like complete idiots the ToJ books are awful for a multitude of reasons and regardless of what you think about how CofD ended up as they handled it's launch really badly with corebook just being named world of darkness and book sellers getting some late wod books (dark age fae, devil's due etc) at the same time with at best a month between them (my shop got them with the same delivery back then) and translation guide on how to use old content being something that should have been if not in the corebook then in some very early book instead of something that only came out with the 20th vtm book
>>98778386>More political factions to juggle in a conflict>Can be more tailored to local cultures, myths, and history>A chronicle could let players shape the fate of The Appalachian Neo-Camarilla with way more interactivity than the entire Ye Olde Global Camarilla. >There's something thematic about vampires, even freshly embraced, being behind the times. The human empires of hard power, like the English, French, and Spanish, have long since fallen to make room for the modern empires of soft power, like the USA, China, and Russia. Now that it seems like the US is shooting itself in the foot and we might be entering a new era, vamps can catch up a step>I really like post-apocalypse stories and, while this would keep the mortal world in tact, it would be an apocalypse on a grand scale for all of kindred kind.
Cronos died 3 days agoFrom now on the the best warform a werewolf can transform into is Glabro
>>98778382>>98778386NTAWould make vampire domain much more variable and individual rather than being Camarilla/Anarch/Sabbat in the end (does anyone use autarkis?) while keeping the basic structure of Camarilla territories. It would also allow one to freely create new ranks and titles besides variations of Prince, Primogen, the Sheriff and maybe Scourge. You can still do that now, but it isn't really the same since in the end, you're part of the same organization. Allowing more independence to vampire domains and territories would mean you can have much more interesting political structures, and therefore, more interesting politics in play.So I could have a Camarilla city structure that emphasizes personal freedom within the Traditions, and since a Balkanized Camarilla wouldn't be dependent on the big-wig Elders at the top, it could work without instantly being flagged and razed as if they were Anarchs. Unless, however, a rival territory decides they want to do that and have sufficient martial and political power.

>>98776401They need to provide some kind of service or tribute which allows them to operate without the city vampires viewing them more as competition or a threat. So think about what kind of things a rural vampire might be able to do that would be more difficult in the cities. Perhaps they run the areas largest pig farm and abettor. Which allows them to get rid of bodies easily and give an unending supply of low grade animal blood for what ever need they might have.Maybe they are a coyote so have an easy access to undocumented people. They could insert themselves into rich rural communities where all the millionaires and influential people who don't want city life are and use that for their own and their princes benefit.Or they could just have a massive well maintained estate that is secluded enough that you can get away with doing thing on it that you would never get away with in the cities.

If my players are ST for another group they also usually set it in the near future and ask me for some input, which is cool, building up a kind of shared setting.Having things in a kind of bad future feels like it solves do many problems with the setting. You can make tech rarer due to poverty and give some richer people more advanced stuff, the powers thay be can take any shape you want, you have wiggle room to adjust the world to fit the game, you can have some fun speculative stuff if you're into that sort of thing, and you don't need to worry about changing the world because the effects carry forward even further into the future. If you haven't run a game set in your own personal 2060 or something, I'd legitimately reccomend it. You can even throw in a natural or man-made disaster/triumph or three to adjust stuff more majorly.
>>98778903>drug dealer that kills his revenue sourceDumb wolf.
>>98779507Wolves don't need revenueRite of Spirit Awakening + Gnosis feeding + Agro Culture to keep the supply of poppy seeds, weed, magic mushrooms, coca plants, tabacco up and ready and with the aid of Herb Call and Brew for good measure a whole sept could fund a whole medicine and drug empire
>>98779507>red talons>caring about revenueObviously the intention is to kill humans who have succumbed to the destructive habits of the Wyrm, in a way that human society won't investigate.
>>98779507Well, the character is a Red Talon, dumb dog aside they're kinda pro-genocide.
>>98779507How is it different from putting fentanyl into everything ?
>>98779628One is make believe
>>98779628Fentanyl is the low IQ solution to money-maxxing because it kills slowly and is used to water down product instead of killing customers. The RT is just outright killing customers who are too far gone. It's pretty fucked up though, since it's his fault, but you can't expect morality from dumb dogs
>>98779696Red Talons have morals, they just aren't yours.
I like Red Talons they are retarded but cool. There is a certain purity of concept within them.
The Red Talons really invented a magic spell to turn regular people into wolves and want to genocide humanity and really went "no, only we should have access to this power, fuck you."Also Gorge my beloved.
>>98779714>>98779728>>98779774Curing Red Talon retardation one wolf at a time (with my dick)
>>98779774>turn regular people into wolves
>>98779774You don't know how Gifts work. Only particular spirits with an affinity for Red Talons can teach the Gift, it's not something invented by or taught by Red Talons.

>Garou>willing to work with leeches (and probably fucks them)How do I make this possible? Their innate autism forces them to murder-rape Wyrm-tainted creatures.
>>98779813Intelligence and Wits 3+ and a heavy dose of pragmatism.
>>98779813Just deal with the Children of GAYia
>>98779802Garou can also teach each other gifts, even if it does take a lot of time.
>>98779813Vampires only give off wyrm taint if their humanity is lower than 7 iirc. But wyrm taint doesnt entirely mean wyrm corrupted. Someone who pigged out at O'Tolley's might temporarily give off wyrm taint but isnt necessarily a fomor or even corrupted in any meaningful way.
>>98779813Just do it(Also, Humanity 7 and above vampires don't ping the Wyrm sensor)
>his pack doesn't have a weekly orgyAre you even a pack at that point?
>>98779813Make a Garou who is willing to work with leeches. Done. It's not like there's a mechanic that forces you to attack vampires unless you spend Willpower or something.
>>98779813Besides the fucking partIs it possible for Baali and Black Spiral Dancers to chill in any way? I have never opened a WtA book and do not want to
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EWmcqjwKfwAlfabuse is going a reading session with the WoD: Mafia book.I honestly don't really like it since they are being asinine about it but eh, content
>>98779813the vancouver book talks about a how the two made a city/area wide allegiance how hard it is to keep that up and why it works (or worked they blew up both sides later off screen)or you just go to a setite or baali + black spiral dancer orgy

I would not be a woman if there were a Mormon Garou!
>>98779878Accurate Garou RP.
>>98779855Might be extremely gay since most Garou players play as men, but since when did that stop the Garou? >:3
>>98779878If you're not rolling for Breeding Mechanics with Pure Breed as a modifier when your Garou become Fostern are you really playing werewolf? Those measly 2 dots in Resources should work towards the future of the Nation and Gaia!
>>98779855catari scum ;DDD my packm8s stake a torie scums XD
>>98779878I haven't seen such an "and then everybody clapped" story in a while.
>>98779878>Play werewolves>Don't have a werewolf orgyI mean... Is it really werewolf without it?
>>98779507The purpose is to suss out the weakest of the flock, concluding that even without her intervention, these are the humans that would succumb to sickness and Wyrm-taint. The point is to do a public service.
>>98779866This is just like when they read Inquisitor. People need to just shut the fuck up if you're too stupid to see when something is actually good. Old doesn't mean bad.
>>98780020>This is just like when they read InquisitorThey did?
I'm honestly surprised WtA isn't more popular with the pup play community. Thought it would be their jam.
>>98779374You know, one thing I've asked myself about mythologies where you can just walk to the underworld, what happens when you get someone out? Do they come back as ghost? Get a new body? Does the new body coexist with their dead corpse up in the world if the living?
>>98780077depends on the specific story (mythologies aren't consistend stories) but in a lot of them it's atleast implied that that would be the caselike the gut punch in stories of orpheus and baldur both wouldn't work if the journey was pointless and getting eurydice or baldur out of the underworld wouldn't have bought them back to life what happens with the original corpse is however something i don't think many stories answer
>>98780069Too much combat, edgelord world, and unironically Kinfolk stuff is too rapey to make it popular unless you're a fan of extreme power dynamics. The idea of it is probably good enough to be popular but any deeper reading and you're turning off a large audience. This is based though

>When the days themselves were young, when Weaver first grew jealous of Wyld and Wyrm, it took a piece of itself, and crafted a daughter, Ananasa. She was charged with being the Weaver’s companion and assistant, and she accepted with grace.>When the world was still incomplete, but the Triat were already arguing amongst themselves, Ananasa gathered the stray energies of their squabbles. As she was crafted, so did she craft Spider. He was charged with ruling the insects, and he accepted eagerly.>When Wyld was fusing spirit and flesh, and creating the Ovid, Weaver grew jealous again. Ananasa simply counseled it to do the same. Thus were the Arthropoda created: Bee and Moth, Hornet and Locust, Ant and Termite. They were charged with creating Order from Chaos, but the moths refused. So the Weaver crushed their spirits.>The story continues, but Moth is not a part of it. Weaver betrayed Wyrm, but Moth was not there for it. Spider joined the rest of the Arthropoda, then annihilated them, but Moth was not there for it. Humans rose, the Gauntlet rose, the arrogance of the Garou rose, but Moth was not there for any of it.>So how are the Mothkin here now?
>>98780891>Ask the Corax, who have explored the breadth and depth of the Umbra, and they'll tell of the many secret places where Mothkin could have hidden, how it might make no sense for the Mothkin to flee if their patron spirit was crushed at the beginning of time, but that time itself is illusory in the Deep Umbra.>Ask Cicada, who has just welcomed his own kin back from extinction, and he'll muse that the song to wake the dead werecicadas must have brought back other Arthropoda as well.>Ask the Ananasi, and they'll have their own questions. Where you saw a Mothkin, and when, and what Gifts they were blessed with. It will quickly become clear the Ananasi are less concerned with where the Mothkin came from, than how to be rid of them again.>Ask the Garou, and perhaps they'll defer to their Theurges. Maybe those Theurges will speculate. The creation of the atomic bomb played havoc on the Umbra, creating new spirits and sending others, especially ones aligned with Helios, into a frenzy. Similar disruptions came with the moon landing. The Mothkin's aspects are baded on both sun and moon, so perhaps these dislodged something within the Umbra, and called them back into existence.
>>98780069WtA is a decidedly unfurry furry game. Changeling is much more their jam.
>>98780904>WtA is a decidedly unfurry furry game.Sounds lame, tbhqwty. How can you have people changing into creatures that have knot cocks, but be against furries?
>>98780908Same way you can play vampires and be against homosexuality.
>>98780989>xe only drinks from womenGay
>>98780904>>98780908It's sort of like the shell of the game is furbait but then inside these wolf-men you're turning into are less about being wolves and more like being a weird cross of a druid and a paladin and they're trying to murder businessmen by the thousands because businessmen are evil. The game could really drop the werewolf aesthetic and turn them into like some sort of jungle fighters and most players wouldn't notice or really care. Yeah not being a werewolf would be lame but the game wouldn't change much. Most furries also aren't about wolves or the werewolf thing anyway
