Alterations? G3 already gives you solidly superhuman abilities. Not even still close to human ones, but well into the superhuman range. Alterations barely sound like they compete in the topic if at all.

I meant in the case of something like G0 alchemy being used to claim anon has no charisma while he has harem mode, mystic beauty and charismatic...

Yeah but they aren't charisma. They're utility effects that work in the same context, but only when they are specifically called on. Someone with charisma can use it anywhere, someone with mystic beauty is only a thirst trap, and someone with harem mode is just a minor reality warper.
>>
>>98771910
Yea most harem mcs are chic magnets because the story simply says they are. They don't actually have rizz. When an anime character does have an authentic gravitas it is usually a villain which is why I love Magnatic.

Just two more weeks until Spirit Conscript discussion goes away.
>>
>>98771918
By that logic the aforementioned lack of traits only apply to matters pertaining spirits.

No, because it says charisma and creativity in general. Spirits like those traits, and also get some more on top, but general charisma and creativity are general.

Harem mode reality warping isn't going to help in any context other than the extremely specific "romantic realtionships where you cheat or want polygamy don't go worse just because you cheat or want polygamy" context, full stop. Nothing else.

In all likelihood Shen Roh's origin story is simply being a Red Demon with more than G0 flow and alchemy (also why Ryoko ended up an outcast).

Let's ignore reality warping harem mode as it's only one third of the equation but charisma work should apply generally. Also why wouldn't general skills that rely on intelligence being at master / legend override "not particularly clever"? I don't really see why G0 alchemy is a awkward life autism sentence at best and who knows what at worst.

I don't imagine it as such. If you treat this as a real CYOA, or in other words an isekai, which the opening of the CYOA does invite you to do, you still get your own actual stuff on top of the descriptions. Imagine that when kofuko is describing g0 alchemy he's saying what the g0 trait means you probably have, while ignoring any personal abilities you already have. This is why I usually treat trainings and old grudges as such as things that kofuko inflicts on you and not things that you already had in your pre-resurrection life.

Pretty typical 'Warrior, Thief & Mage' party. The Orc follows me after I found her wounded in the forest and nursed her back to health. Shortly afterwards the small town I had lived near was overrun by the same Beastmen horde that destroyed the Orc's tribe. The survivors and I made our way to the nearest large city where we met the Elf who hired us to play bodyguard.

>>98772616
no fucking clue how jeet culture works, but this got me thinking, women are probably majority of the rapists in spirit conscript, like due to the gender imbalance there will be a lot of femcels. Then due to aura these women will be physically as strong if not stronger than men, especially if they are hunting down none aura users. I guess getting kindapped and raped by demons is an actual common problem for boys, especially considering how rampant slavery is.

but I kinda imagine gender norms are flipped in youdu, like if the majority of the criminals, military, etc. are women and males are so rare. They will be probably kept out of danger as some househusbands. Because losing a man is a lot more costly than a women. Like men might actually be the fairer sex in Youdu.

Another Attempt at a Purebody build. Had more fun with this one as I was less worried about trying to make up for its shortcomings and instead made something fun to imagine. Still its potential is capped without figuring out a way to bypass the restrictions (which may be at least partially possible with the right help or secrets) and I would say my undead Purebody ultimately has more going for it but a Massive Red Demon Yokai with four arms and mastery of Divine Hand would be a hell of an opponent.

I have two lines of potential advancement as well. Took limitless meridians this time as I realized being locked out of the weird martial arts after already being locked out of everything else isn’t worth it and my companion knows one of the best ones (Divergent Life Streams). One the other hand my base set of martial arts has Laceration Touch which turns my four armed body into blades for all intents and purposes and I could incorporate sword arts into my style and with Saika Ikki’s Last Memory I could eventually get several amazing ones.

Literally the only reason they are alive is the Ninokata's leader not deciding yet to fight them. But the majushin has no counterplay to a phase master.

On the other hand, men are less necessary for reproduction.
Just look at the ninokata surviving with 1 man per generation.

So while men are rarer, have 1 men for like 30 women and its technically enough as long as the women's plan is not to fuck every day.

Which is better: Needle that Pierces the Soul or Divergent Lifestreams?
>>
>>98772757

>>98773096
> Needle that Pierces the Soul
+Soul Damage
+Victim loses control of parts of their body before final deadly strike
+Long distance attacks
+Hard to heal
-Clear absolute counter (illumination of the heart)
+Clear absolute counter isweird af to find

>Divergent Lifestreams
+Internal damage
+Reconfigure aura system of enemy, making techniques harder and at some point, impossible to do
+Less absolute counters as Needle that pierces the soul
-No long distance attack

Against majority of enemies Needle that pierces the soul sounds like a more direct threat. Its hits paralize body parts and at some point will just rip your soul.
While divergent lifestreams causes internal damage and fucks up techniques, its better the stronger your enemies are. There are more techniques that counter Needle that pierces the soul than divergent lifestream, and the counter of Divergent Lifestream can be eventually overcome by divergent lifestream and made impossible to do again.

So both stomp weak fighters. Against mid fighters Needle is more direct and enough, so better than Divergent lifestream in that sense.

Against strong fighters (g3) Divergent lifestream will be more useful on average

It does, however, this "The user’s soul cannot be removed from their body or manipulated by any means without their willingness"

Needle does not proper soul damage, it stops the connection of the body and soul, with the end goal of removing the soul from the body. So it does protect against needle.

I think it was more that the standards for writing volume went up while the standards for quality went down. The multiplayer stuff here was full of memes, discussion, art, cyoa add ons and compilations, and occasionally something written. And the writing was typically short and at least ok in quality. There it was like you had to write a novel to even participate over there you had to sift through bloated esl garbage homework to stay caught up on what was happening. I would rather just read a real book at that point. My guess is this obsession with writing and need to accept everyone's writing contributions, no matter how awful, limited the number of practical adventures. If you propsed something different, they would act like you were crazy because it would be too hard to shit out 100k words of unedited dogshit for that adventure. That's what drove people away.

I just can't imagine days of silence while people write slop that only gets read out of obligation is preferable.

I started working on a cyoa where you have a dream that you were giving a good dicking to some mystical animal zodiac constellation goddess and she considered your dick so good that when you woke up you had somehow been sent thousands of years in the future where Humanity fucking killed itself and only animals are alive.

Anyway that goddess you fucked blessed your cock and balls with divine power and you can mate with animals and their offspring come out more intelligent, loyal and with a choice of either animal, anthro or humanoid in foirm, so you can begin a tribe with your children from animals, take on challanges and encounter different animal tribe factions.

What do you want to see in it?
>>
Asians can’t into mystery and nebulousness. When they first heard about God and Christianity they kept asking what He/God looked like, thinking God was a humanoid figure like Buddha. They do not like answers that amount to “He is too big to describe”, or “he is everywhere and nowhere”, which is weird when the Tao is already like that, so I assume this is a sort of hangup from Buddhism/Hinduism (Indians see their gods as particularly superhero-y), which flowered in China.

In 73, was Body Snatcher the only already picked bloodline.
It mentions legendary beasts as a possible outcome, but that seems to be unavailable. Were these the last magic returning burst's equivalent to bloodlines?
How many sorcerers have there been? Presumably all of the active schools have had a sorcerer at least once, but have any of the fallow schools had one?
Chronomancy mentions there being a magical multiverse, are bloodlines present there as well? If so, are there identical bloodlines throughout? In the same vein, if this is the magic returning, have these bloodlines existed before?

>>98772748
I've been thinking about this for a while, but Spirit Conscript point balancing is kinda dumb. The opportunity cost of buying a legend technique for the cost of 2-3 basic techniques makes buying basic techniques a waste of points in most builds.

I want to run a couple experiments, would anons mind making builds to see if they balance things better?
>Experiment 1: Talent Discount
Making a builds where your talent rating in one aura type provides a discount. This is to make basic techniques cheap, master techniques slightly less ecpensive, and leave legend techniques largely the same.
Compare your "G" rating to the rating required for a technique, if you G rating is higher it subtracts it's value from the point cost.
Example:
Seismic Strike costs 5 poimt to buy.
Your build has G3 in Core.
Seismic Strike only requires G1.
Seismic Strike now only costs 2 points for you.
>Experiment 2: Aura Burst Mode
Kufoku mentions you'll be able to Double your points after completing an Aura Burst campaign, so why not make builds for that?
Make a standard build for your freshly summoned conscript, then making Another build for your conscript after completing all their campaign missions.

The second build gets build and equipment points equal to their starting "Potential"(45 for talented, 35 for mutated, etc). They get no bonus alterations.

Given how the "Prodigy" alteration works,, double these bonus points points for your second build, but equipment points are not doubled.

Because everything stacks synergistically and scales your thinking is a trap. Only buying expensive options limits your potential as you’ll get more mileage from different costed powers that work together.

>>98774568
>Compare your "G" rating to the rating required for a technique, if you G rating is higher it subtracts it's value from the point cost.
Suddenly my theoretical Flow builds went from "Murderfucked" by point costs to "Actually Viable".
Flow really, Really needs this.

He’s just shitposting at Softie who probably isn’t even here right now.
>>
>>98774593
It was murderfucked on overpowered or talented?
>>
>>98774569
Yeah it does. It's about comparatively very wasteful aura expenditure for achieving practically anything as long as it's spirit themed. Technically if you had infinite aura you could fight an entire martial arts duel with it. Practically you don't have the means to throw hundreds of attacks and perform hundreds of dodges as individual gestures. Therefore its niche is singual high-value actions that hopefully turn the tide of an engagement in your favor while you need to depend on other techniques as workhorses.

>>98774576
>There's just no way to meaningfully alter most techniques
Technique artistry can "shape and modify their designed restrictions" and "shift their balance and utility". As a general description of the field. That's not technique artistry legend, even initiate is already doing it.

This is why it's usually pointless to take special technique. You don't need it when you can just modify your technique cast and get a special technique for free, in all your techniques, and in a way that you can change deliberately.

A fight isn't a single attack. Fighting with oblative gesture on the same level some dude who devoted 8 aura might cost you thousands of aura.

>>
>>98774619
It's like you're deliberately misunderstanding me? I didn't disagree about the toolbox part? That IS the niche. You just can't brute force with it because that would take thousands of aura to achieve what some other guy achieved for a devotion of maybe 8.

>>98774627
Simplest examples are always "more aura for more effect" and "less aura for less effect". With initiate, you might make one gesture that usually costs 3 aura cost only 1 aura, but only be 10% as strong. Sometimes you don't need it to be stronger, and in that case this is pure benefit.

Just looking at my various builds for this, it does make seemingly baseline things easy to take, my core, flow and alchemy builds all look much better. Funny enough, it doesn't affect my spirit summoner build much since I have a high empasis on aura and skills.

I do think this biases limitless meridians even more though.

I think techniques should be priced the way they are. You're looking at it purely as a point optimization exercise, but this is partially also about worldbuilding. What does the current CYOA say about the state of techniques in the world versus your ideas? I think yours are less natural for the described society of Youdu and would produce different Youdus.

>Kufoku mentions you'll be able to Double your points after completing an Aura Burst campaign, so why not make builds for that?
Nothing is preventing you. I kind of already do that in my normal builds, I just phrase it under the technique collection campagin as a wishlist.

It actually kind of agrees with anon though? If you read the aura talent entrees, all the higher talemt options mention how you pick up their techniques faster and more easily. Having access to aura At All makes you a 1 in 10 talent in youdo, having G2 talent makes you a prodigy, and having G3 talent in just one aura type is explicitly a "Once in a Generation" rare event. Not exactly? Unless we're thinking of different things, what it actually does is make you better with techniques of the affinity. That's not the same as learning them more easily, since learning them isn't done by using them, it's done by some meridian carving process that takes massive amounts of aura.

Have access to everying, but alchemy still bad at combat ----> alchemy bad at combat need to rely on summons or mind control -----> summons generally kind of bad without heavy specialization -------> mind control it is with sigils -------> if going sigils and not caring about mind control being bad, take hypnotists (doesn't help its probably favorite ability, I like command powers and eye powers)

>>98774798
Ambivalent alteration is the most self-harmful choice you can make in the CYOA in terms of future potential by the way. You never get those five points back, even once it takes a hundred thousand years to cultivate just one more point of max reserve.

You might not be able to. The ambivalent alteration prevents you from taking meridian ecpansions and the cultivation skill is explicitly about cultivation from your Past Life.
Taking the ambivalent alteration might straight-up lock you at your starting aura Permanently. Really puts the "mesding with the soul" line in clearer context.

To be fair, there's a lot of that "one dude". Spirits, chimera, and rogue alchemist seem to make up 70% of the threats in youdo(with another 20% being the blue youkai), and senguru blood blobs being more of an exception rather than the rule

I'd say in aura practitioner terms they're kind of just four roughly 25% groups divided by affinities. Only after you start including non-humans does alchemy start being more common. Though I guess exotic biology is also common out there among the non-humans, so that kind of also covers core.

Meaning that flow and phase must be the least-countered affinities.

Don't make us Purebodys look bad, we can't take IOTH (considered if making it a Special Technique to make it a "Martial Art" would be viable though).

>>98774671
>>98774682
Purebodys really ought to be able to take passives to be fair, but as one myself I can say that the appeal of Purebody is essentially the anti potential maxer. You come out of the gate with a coherent build that can immediately get shit done at the cost of being limited long term. A normal build is ALWAYS incomplete even if they resist potential maxing too much.
>>
>>98775137
Pure body is mechanically sound, it's just fluffed badly. It's supposed to be the option where you can only take martial arts and benefit from it more than other people. All the confusion comes from the excuse for that option existing being poorly conceived.
>>
>>98775124
>Anon, our entire argument was about whether that specific case is true or not
No, the argument was about whether or not LWF stopped Paradox Point. Your defence was that LWF layers aren't matter so Paradox Point won't work. If the answer was meant to be 'LWF doesn't do matter so Paradox Point wouldn't work' PCA would've obviously said that.
>>
>>98774799
I kind of agree with this. I would also consider a limit on how many legendaries you can take as it's always better to load up on them.
>>
>>98775137
>A normal build is ALWAYS incomplete even if they resist potential maxing too much.
not really, all of builds and my builds are complete at the start, either overpowered or talented doesn't matter

yes, the CSI+WLE build is complete just by having those two and chimerae to snack on, sure it can use some martial arts on top but pure body can also use more martial arts

yes, the triple master status alchemist build is complete just by having those three, it's so extremely broad with preparation that there's very little it can't do, sure it could use some more summons or universal sovereign but those are details, not the main course

yes, the fully-focused flow build is complete as i start with it, i have all the conductions i need to do the elemental shenanigans it's supposed to, sure it can use more support techniques but who doesn't?
>>
>>98775086
>Yea basic techniques are basically worthless because of how much they cost
People were saying this from day 1.
The point costs of techniques in the cyoas own terms mean that learning 1 basic techniques takes the same time and energy as spending a lifetime mastering a martial art as your main proffession.
It's logistically imposdible for most of the companions to know the techniques they do, because most of them are too young for that to be mathmatically possible.

It depends on the full impact of it. Five aura points for an alteration? Good trade even if your cap is always a little lower. Post landing meridian expansions are possible but now you are locked out of them forever? Not so good. Is it possible to heal the damage? Unknown. Would healing the damage remove the alteration? Unknown. Practically a lot of builds actually want another drawback (particularly Magnatic but others as well). >>
>>98775196
We need to presume that the amount of alterations you start with is a fairly harsh limit. Otherwise kofuko would have offered more, and ambivalent wouldn't be as awful as it is.

We also need to remember that there are two types of expansion to one's reserve, natural cultivation which has logarithmic growth, and stuff that expands it while ignoring that logarithmic growth which includes most options in the CYOA, since that was the logic the author used IIRC during discussions like this.

The question is which of those two types of reserve increase is the -5 from ambivalent alteration acting as a decrease in? Probably (but not certainly) the same one as meridian expansion. So do you think meridian expansions work against your cultivation limit? Are they just preloading a few centuries of cultivation into you? Or are they artificial grafts, more similar to pure pool, that have nothing to do with cultivation?
>>
>>98775184
>so some autist only focusing on basics could casually learn 20 of them in the course of a normal human life, or maybe up to 40
Anon, they don't take years, they take Decades. A 6 point basic technique take the time and energy it requires to gain 3 Masters Degrees(which is a bachrlors + 2 years, 8 years on average).
That's 24 YEARS, that's 4 years per point.
Assuming you started training at 5, no human would be able to learn 10 Basic techniques.
>>
>>98775248
Yeah, but those sentences still follow from that if. You can't cherry pick. You would have if you were more competent, and your manipulations would have worked, if only in your own mind. But, unfortunately for you, you weren't competent enough to hide what you were doing. You already got the advantage of phrasing the question exactly as you needed to to milk your own conclusion from it. That you didn't hide it when you did that is just extra pathetic. But clearly you did try to hide it, since the question isn't there in that post. This is just funny, honestly. What was wrong with the question you asked, anon? Why not share it?
>>
>>98775249
Pretty sure that's why Kofuko is willing to permanently reduce his power to make us. It isn't THAT big of a deal. I can understand that the mixed alteration should be carefully considered (which means Talented is proved supreme once again) and shouldn't be wasted on an alteration you don't really think would contribute but it is something to consider.
>>
>>98775270
>Anon, they don't take years, they take Decades.
Author said years for basic techniques once we finally got him to cave here in the thread. It was because of an argument between someone thinking it's decades and someone else thinking it's weeks. I guess the vagueness finally got to him.
>>
>>98775270
>That's 24 YEARS, that's 4 years per point.
...The Prodigy Alteration is suddenly looking really good for my next build.
>>
>>98775295
>Author said years for basic techniques once we finally got him to cave here in the thread.
He never got into specifics and I'm pretty sure he was just covering his own as because he never actually thought the traing times through. The "Decades" interpretation comes from the skill system, which outright gives you hard measures for how initiate, master, and legend ranks

The Golden Truth... A True Son?

We're in our SC era, anon. Read the room.
>>
So does future cultivation really take hundreds of years for a single aura point?
>>
>>98775315
I don't think the decades interpretation is reasonable. Even years is kind of a stretch, given how young and accomplished the companions are. Clearly it's not that hard and you're just inferring from points in a way you shouldn't be. Furthermore, the author said it, even if it was possibly under the duress of angry anons arguing with each other, so that's a better estimate.

You could possibly claim that shitters with g1/g1/g0/g0 and 6 aura reserve take decades. That may make a lot more sense. But not a player or companion.

For me personally, decades would be superior, becuase I prefer loading up on techniques rather than potentialfaggotry. So I'm not arguing about this for the sake of my own builds. It's just what the author said.
>>
>>98775270
Which makes no fucking sense if you read the companion section. How old do you think Hanna and Noriko are? Or even Mai given that she has such a strong base? I said it last thread and I will say it again ANY number for training time either doesn't make sense or validates potential maxing so hard that we should all be institute apprentices with no techniques. The issue is the cyoa uses one currency for almost everything. Release techniques should have had an exclusive currency.

It's not an issue. You just can't assume point cost translates to time spent learning across all categories in the CYOA.
>>

>>
>>98774864
As another anon said, the author confirmed its not the case.
Taking ambivalent alteration lets you train to gain more aura.
>>98774823
>Ambivalent alteration is the most self-harmful choice you can make in the CYOA in terms of future potential by the way.
Depends on the benevolent alteration and drawback you pick.

Magmatic is not a bad drawback.
Heavenly instrument is op.

For example, the choices above are worth 5 less points of aura.

No, it's just design. If it works in favor of the goal, then it's good design, while if it doesn't then it's bad design. Was the goal making sure points are a perfect measure of training times across the board, or was the goal making a fun CYOA with a tailored power level for the reader?
>>

Training time also validates limitless meridians as having G3s will shorten it further. Being insanely talented is almost always worth it.
>>
>>98775385
We don't know that high affinity makes you learn faster. We only know it makes you better at using techniques once you do have them. Because of the way learning works by carving shapes into your meridians, those are not necessarily the same.
>>
>>98775375
>No, it's just design.
Anon, that's the same cope every retarded engineer tries to hide behind when their shitty diagram fails. Yes, it's bad design. Good Design has to be multi-layered and predict potential issues in the process of trying to achieve it's goals. One-track thinking is a hallmark of bad design.

holy reading comprenhension.

My guy, he was describing Paradox Point.
>If its made of matter, paradox point punches through it im pretty sure
This means, if something is made of matter, paradox goes through it.
So he was saying "yeah, Paradox goes through matter" he thought the problem was people misunderstanding paradox not going through matter. He didn't know your problem was with LWR

Then he continued

>So yeah when an infinite needle hits a (very high but still fundamentally) finite number of sheets of paper, it goes through them
He talked about LWR, making an example with a very high number of sheets of paper.
And to further proves this
>Im pretty sure conceptually LWR is just Endbringer armor from Worm and Paradox point is just hollow purple
He compares LWR to endbringer armor, that is MATTER btw, layers of MATTER.

Or maybe the design just had different goals than the ones you'd prefer it to.

Maybe you're right, but only for techniques. Maybe techniques do scale linearly with point costs, but they're very different than trainings.

Or maybe there's another factor, and being a great technique multiplies it, being a legendary technique multiplies it, being a status technique multiplies it, being a secret technique multiplies it, etc.

We're lucky to have the answer of "years" for basic techniques as it is. Everything else is going to remain uncertain.

In a vacuum maybe but being good at something almost always translates to learning it faster. Any particulars? I feel like I want to stay away from "broad" powers.

So "gravity manipulation" is fine as a concept, but itd be broken up into like "crushing someone by intensifying the gravity around them" or "creating a gravity singularity" or whatever, rather than all purpose manipulation (I feel like those sorts of powers end up doing too much and ending up with very limited and "do everything" sections with much overlap)

That creates issues as well. Maybe we should buy trainings over other things for the same reason. I will say the crazy descriptions of certain legend level trainings make me want to pick them over other choices as for 2/3 points over a master training you improve the skill by orders of magnitude. The description of say legendary tactics exceeds what I think I would be capable of with a lifetime of study and then you apply that to the other skills related to your build and you decide that you NEED to take legendary martial arts NOW or you are losing out basically forever.

As you can see, there is no comment about it before.
PCA wasn't manipulated in some way to say you are wrong.

The "if" comes from explaining how Paradox Point works.
"If its made of matter, paradox point punches through it im pretty sure"
This is explaining paradox point. IF SOMETHING IS MATTER, IT GOES THROUGH.

its like saying, Ilumination of the Heart vs seismic strike.
If something would damage the soul, Illumination of the heart defends the soul.

Does this mean I am questioning seismic strike hurting the soul? No, I am explaining what IotH does.

Him explaining LWR goes after that

"So yeah when an infinite needle hits a (very high but still fundamentally) finite number of sheets of paper, it goes through them
Im pretty sure conceptually LWR is just Endbringer armor from Worm and Paradox point is just hollow purple"

He explained LWR as endbringer armor, matter. Layers of matter.
>>
>>98775504
Sure that guy counts I guess. He did get engagement but people did agree that it was essentially gaming the system. It’s easily the most point efficient way to have as many powers as possible.
>>
>>98775501
In my opinion, trainings are shit point investmetns compared to techniques. If you have a free alteration then hard training can still be good, but for regular points I'd never waste them on training. I'd rather learn athletics the hard way and already have resolute center during it than the other way around.
>>
>>98775504
I think that guy did get butt-blasted for it. Chimeralord is the only one people seem to give any credit too for making companions. Personally I wish he gave us statblocks for some of them.
>>
>>98775501
Scholarship is a nad one for thst too. The jump from master to legend triples the education for double the points. You're actually wasting points by not maxing it out.
>>
>>98775474
That sounds good.

My current plan (and I dont intend to get too much into WIP posting/explaining, so this is more or less all youre going to get) is that there will be several "archetypes" you pick, which determine which powers you have access to and which powers cost how much (some powers may be at discounts for some archetypes, more expensive, or outright locked off (maybe)).
The current archetypes I have planned are:
>Destroyer
"dark cosmic" in theme, gravity manipulation, black holes, tearing reality asunder and collapsing dimensions and stuff, sentient black hole.
>Slayer
The more martial/murderer one, about personal killing power in the form of techniques and weapon use
>Corrupter
The more "devil" themed one, all about making people worse, lots of mental powers and seduction of evil stuff.
>Reaper
Undead/necromancy themed one.
>Outsider
Eldrich horror themed one, powers around breaking reality, things like impossible anatomy and driving people insane with your presence.
>Darkwalker
"darkness"/"shadow" themed one, teleporting through darkness, controlling shadows, fear empowerment, that sort of thing. Youre the boogeyman.

A singularity feels right at home for the first of these (thats where the black hole mentioned is from/has already been added to, the original concept was basically just "collapsing reality" because I felt like a sort of "reverse planeswalking" was cool and spooky, like a door to nothingness)
>>
>>98775506

Baba Olga
Favorite Techniques: Watching Paper Sigil, Herbal Lunar Pool, Alchemy Master Status—Transmutation.

The witch Baba Olga owns a small boutique of mystical curiosities in the Canal District, often seen sneakily peering through her blinds at passersby. Everyone in town knows she’s crazy. If you’re willing to enter her smoky shop of jujus, you’ll find all sorts of charms and curses available to you. She might not even charge you if she likes you enough. You’d best hope she doesn’t, though. Her motherly cooing and offers of private tea parties will inevitably give way to possessive mutterings, strange off-kilter remarks, and scramblings to hide morbid or frightening articles. She may seem like a lonely, secluded witch on the outside, but the crazed gleam in her emerald eyes tells another story.

As a Companion, Baba Olga doesn’t tend towards social situations or combat, instead choosing to provide enchantments and curses to you from the comfort of her home. If you return to her after a long battle, she’ll lovingly nurse you to health with salves, fragrant oils and Lunar baths, which she will cheerily administer by hand even if you don’t really need them. It’s of little importance to her what you do for a living, as long as she can help. She refuses any compensation you offer for mystical objects, enchantments, curses or charms, and has a brilliant mind for taking your enemies down in the cruelest and most cutthroat strategies imaginable. Things you wouldn’t inflict on your worst enemies. In the midst of long baths or tea parties with her collection of stuffed animals, she’ll make it abundantly clear that she knows more about this City—and your opponents—than she lets on.
>>
>>98775534
As a Romance, Baba Olga treasures you like a precious puppy, smothering you with warm, suffocating kisses and embraces as she runs her fingers through your hair and coos with a shaky, shivering voice how much she loves you over and over. She’s never been in love before, so she’s quite forward when she craves you. She has no hesitation about stealing long, passionate kisses and tactless touches from you at every opportunity, even in public. Her bedroom is a deathtrap, a place where you can expect to be locked away with her for hours or even days at a time. The things she’ll do to you certainly shouldn’t be mentioned in polite company, though she’s happy to tactlessly divulge the details to others anyway. She’s not the kind of girl for nights out, and would really prefer if you just stayed still and let her obsess over you in the dark. Occasionally, you might have to indulge her various delusions and imaginations, as she doesn’t exactly have all her marbles sometimes.

As a Rival, Baba Olga never deals in direct confrontation. She plants curses and dark magic in places you can’t possibly anticipate, keeping you weak and paranoid. You’ll need to check your food for sleeping charms when you eat, board up your doors and windows, and likely give up any weapons and equipment she gets her meddling hands on. Fighting her head-on isn’t the solution, unfortunately. She’s much too clever and attentive to let you face her in person. She’ll be frequently stalking you to learn your habits and Techniques like the back of her hand, perhaps even to convey them to your enemies.
>>
>>98775497
It does, you're just missing the forest for the trees.

It doesn't have to be pure good or pure bad the end of the wish.
It has to be a pure wish.

For example, wishing for the world to not end is not pure good neither. The world has bad parts, people and animals suffering. The world not ending does also allow those things to continue. Yet we know that kind of wish tends to be pure.

So as long as the person making the wish 100% belives that it will do more good than harm. It should count

What makes it worse is that multiple skills makes it clear it's genuinely impossible to get them to legend level via training. For most people buying it at character creation is the Only chance to get them, because they're incredibly unlikely to find the aura technique that refined their un-aura boosted body to superhuman on their own.

>>
>>98775795

That exagerates it a bit. Initiate seems to be equal to 4 or so years of proffessional training in roughly all the skills. Nothing supernatural, but still very high compared to earth people.
>>
>>98775811
This is probably the honest truth kek
>>
>>98775771
Yea but athletics really CAN be trained after dropping in. Seriously a full say five year regime could get you there along with the right body which the CYOA gives. >>
>>98775820
>>98775795
there's another consideration in this conversation

if youdu gets blown up, most of its technique knowledge will be lost, if you still haven't learned that legendary technique it might never resurface again

meanwhile mortal world bloing up is first of all less probably and secondly mundane knowledge has way more consistent means of reappearing

so taking techniques asap might be better even if it takes you ten times longer to mundanely train skills afterwards, because trainings are more likely to stay available
>>
>>98775805
>This interestingly ties back to the proper engineering principles of that guy's maths before. Even in this sense, trainings take longer than techniques to learn.
I think your math is off in a different way than engineer anons.
Engineer anon hyperfocused on legend skills to factor time, but looking at lower levels shows that it takes very different amounts of time per point.
On averahe I'd put initiates skills at 1-2 years per point, master 2-4 years per point, and legend at 4+ per point. The training time seems to be exponential based on Tier rather than some hidden difference between skills and techniques.
>>
>>98775820

If I was going to do chimera builds nowadays I'd make them more templates and this one just took me a while to make. If I dedicated to it I could create a baby ensouled chimera soldier at a rate of about 1 per day, granted I'm pretty sure they'd have to grow. Below is an example I'd put of a chimera template build:

>Race
Chimera (Basically just gives inhumanity for free)
>Potential
Talented
>Benevolent Alterations
Hard Training
Resilience
Prodigy
Inhumanity
Animal Blood (Prey's Reflex)
>Malignant Alterations
Memory Tampering

>Aura System
Deep Specialist
>Recovery Disposition
Nutrition
>Aura Affinities
Core G3
Phase G2
Flow G0
Alchemy G0
>Aura Pool
20
>Training
Martial Arts - Master
Weaponry - Legend
Acrobatics - Legend
Athletics - Legend
Investigation - Master
>Basic Release Techniques
Sense Aura
Body Enhancement
Aura Cloak
Initiate Status—Resolute Center
Initiate Status—Oscillating Motion
Sense Enhancement
>Great Release Techniques
Weapon Art—Guillotine Thundercloud
Seven Immortalities of Wukong

I tried to be pretty conservative with the alterations, I don't think I could just give out limitless meridians to just any chimera construct, and something like Heavenly Instrument seems kind of ridiculous/weird to give to a chimera. Memory tampering is basically to show that they were created with soul coagulation and don't have a past beyond being born and raised by me. And for techniques, I of course need to factor in what could actually reasonably be taught to a chimera, granted giving them prodigy along with super-human and strong custom tailored souls would benefit them greatly.

Specifically build wise as well, I had the idea to make a single overpowered-limitless meridians type chimera as basically my golden child magnum opus type thing that was in the process of growing to adulthood and learning, and was going to use Faputa for the image.
>>
>>98775844
>The training time seems to be exponential based on Tier rather than some hidden difference between skills and techniques.
It seems to apply to techniques as well which is what started the conversation. Initiate statuses are slightly less than 50% of the points of a legendary status but I highly doubt the training differential would be double. Therefore most builds don't bother with basic techniques that aren't critical.
>>
>>98775848
>after just a single decade or less.
Anon, the minimum per point time in my calculations for legend is 4 years per point. The cheapest legend skill is 6 points.
24 years minimum for the fasyest legend tiers is not quick. Over 20 years of proffessional training is definitely legend worthy.

>>

well there's always the possibility that the only aura users who are powerful are also the ones who lucked into prodigy and sacred fountain and vast aura systems and stuff like that, the others get old and die before getting far

Even on overpowered my build would focus on the future. Loading up on say legendary trainings would be my go-to. Even if I did pick techniques I would gorge myself on legendaries on plan to learn the basics later.

>I wouldn't take overpowered if this was for real
Of course I would if I actually got to choose that, but I have always felt our soul simply is what it is and I doubt my soul is that good.
>>
>>98775966
>Teraba owns the capital area anon
She is strong
>How many points of Flow techniques do you think the old Senguru guy knows?
I would expect the leader of the Flow cult, an old one at that, to know several conductions of all 3 types of techniques, and techniques to mix them. Even more when he is close to the legend status.

>Way more than even a 90 year old guy spending a lifetime studying it could possibly know if techniques really take as long as we are saying.
Talent + spending all his time training. The guy is explictly a bad leader because he just goes to do his own thing in meditiation.
>>
>>98775971
>>98775966
This does sort of pull the timeframes together. If the only mortals who even can make it to the top of Youdu have stacked learning speed boosters, then the old Senguru with 50 points of only flow techniques not counting all his other stuff makes sense.
>>
>>98775971
I.E they were born with the potential maxer build
>>
>>98775966
>How many points of Flow techniques do you think the old Senguru guy knows?
The lore doc makes it clear he definitely has flow legend status already from how heavy the hints were. He also probably has special series: expansion and nature acquiesence, but conduction modes and states he knows are anyone's geuss.
>>
>>98775978
i think of potentialfaggotry as just unlocking all possibilities, without a need to race to the top in an optimal manner, because there aren't any other potentialfaggots of the same sort around in singleplayer
>>
>>98775984
>stacked learning speed boosters
The only conformed learning speed boosters are the Prodigy alteration and Aura Burst event, the rrst are headcanon.
Given how the aura burst is a myth until we arrive...
>>
>>98775984
Except most of the other leaders are much younger. The Senguru guy is the best case scenario as far as age and power level. Either way you are also admitting that they need all the important boosts to even have a chance.
>>
>>98775994
>one aura regen thing makes learning techniques faste, but if you think this other aura regen thing makes it faster that's just headcanon
Aura regeneration speeds up the process of learning techniques.
>Given how the aura burst is a myth until we arrive...
Not quite a myth, and it doesn't really matter, it's something people would simply understand the moment they tried to learn their first technique, more aura makes it go faster.
>>
>>98775984
This is WOG
>I'd say basics probably do not take a full year if you already know a Technique that's in the same ballpark as the one you want to learn.
So basics do not even take a full year if you already know a basic technique. Plus prodigy not even 6 months. Plus more training boosters I am not going to mention.

Difference between basic, high level techniques and legendaries? Who knows. But this proves getting basics techniques is not that long, so there is no reason to think that you would take decades to learn a legendary technique if you have a teacher, you are disciplined and you are talented yourself. And this is proven by companions in their 20s with legendaries.

The problem of techniques is mainly the information. If you dont know anyone or anything to explain it to you, good luck.

And of course, legendary statuses being incredibly hard to obtain with just training.
>>
>>98775994
G3s aren't head cannon and the Aura burst confirms aura itself is a limiting factor so obviously faster aura regen will result in faster training. Also minor thing but the "fast learner" alteration improves mundane training time.
>>
>>98776000
Checked and that isn't surprising since Noriko is literally a tourist
>>
>>98775995
Yeah, so assume they all have them.

>>98776000
That's not incompatible with the "basic techniques take years" though, it's a qualifier that it goes faster afterward.

I think "basics" here was intended in the classic way, not the basic technique way. If you already know the basics of conduction by having one conduction, your future conduction techniques will be easier to learn. It doesn't literally mean you need a basic technique and then learning others will be easier.

There's still enough vagueness to play around with the high tier techniques and push them into the brackets they need to be for this to work out.
>>
>>98775986
>The lore doc makes it clear he definitely has flow legend status already from how heavy the hints were.
He's just getting to that point, but doing so boosts his senses immensely.
>>
>>98776000
>The problem of techniques is mainly the information. If you dont know anyone or anything to explain it to you, good luck.
nah, non-secret techniques are said to be openly available, almost nobody can actually learn them so it would be nonsense for the institute and other factions to keep them from you unless it's specifically a strategic secret technique or problematic in some other way
>>
>>98776015
Which I will also say makes EWA's mental boosts look pretty fucking ridiculous.
>>
>>98776024
all four of them are ridiculous, going out and stealing godzilla's power overnight, dodging everything automatically if it can't hit you in mirror world simultaneously, doing a ritual worship session where you regen aura a thousand times faster than normal, etc.
>>
>>98776018
There must be openly available techniques, but the stronger they get they should be more protected by other people.
The scale clan literally built its "economy" on guarding technique's information and getting paid with them
>>
>>98776018
Which is the other reason people only choose legendaries. Even if basics, greats, and legendaries where perfectly balanced point wise, legendaries are locked up in secret vaults, while their is literally a college teaching the normal stuff.

no yeah, I'm just saying it puts it into perspective that he does all that and doesn't even have the full thing yet.
>>
>>98776030
sure, but you're only gonna worry about that if you take no factions (or your own sect with secrets), you also stubbornly refuse to join one after the fact, and you also didn't take a useful combo like institute apprentice + technique collection to make this your entire job while inside and institution that hoards techniques

at that point, if you really really tried to make technique knowledge hard to find, you reasonably only get basic techniques and some smaller amount of great techniques, and have to struggle for the rest

Universal Sovereign lets ypu use yourself as an ingredient in summon fusion.
One of the summon options is an angel.
Universal Sovereign's devotion mechanic buffs summons and lets you heal them for no aura cost.

>You can use unlimited mind splitting to train multiple techniques at one
you have only one aura system, i really doubt you can train with more than at most two or three bodies as long as they're really different techniques, and even that's a generous guess

>(one of the example companions did this with 3 clones, you have infinity clones)
no she didn't, she was learning non-technique knowledge that way, which is way more reasonable
>>
>>98776081
You have spirit weaknesses before you die because you're a spirit, you just don't lose your aura system.
>>
>>98776081
If you die without it then you're fucked
At least spirits can work around their weaknesses
Dying without Universal Sovereign is worse than getting spirit weaknesses

The funniest part about all the legend statuses is that none of them are actually all that OP compared to other legendary techniques, or even some master techniques. Where they really shine is as amplifiers for lower tier techniques in their same category, buffing the shit out of otherwise much more limited powers.
>>
>>98776096
You dont have the weaknesses before dying.

Before dying you are just the best of both worlds. No weakness.

Depends which kind you summon. If you're worried, you can summon a succubus or incubus to add to your fusion and ensure you're at maximum sexy while transformed.

>>98776096 is incorrect. >>98776110 is correct.

True, Waning Lunar Eon's main issie is that it's devotion is as much a drawback as it is benefitial(how are you gonna perform handsigns if your hands are in the mirror world?), unless you pick up the mirror world relate phase techniques. With the right sub-techniques, WLE turns you into Obito from Naruto.
>>
>>98776140
it generally doesn't matter, you have it up and maybe another devotion or two and that's enough for whatever

>>98776122
Nowhere mentioned, unlike with demon seed.

If in your human-spirit state before your first death, you had spirit weaknesses, it would be mentioned. In fact, the technique goes out of its way to list what you get before dying, the aura recovering method of spirits, but also it makes it clear you still got yours.

You get both recoveries, its the best of both worlds. Nowhere its mentioned you get any of their weakness.
Obviously after dying you become full spirit.
>>
>>98776147
>There's unironically no brain needed
Lmao. This is your main problem in life.
>>
>>98776140
Why wouldn’t you just go entirely into the
mirror world and figure things out after? I don’t think there will ever be a case where you phase out selective parts of you
>>
If going universal sovereign does give spirit weaknesses it might be a nice opportunity to take the corrupt pool along with Demon Seed
>>
Okay but let’s be honest why wouldn’t spirit sovereign give you the drawbacks all spirits suffer? You are on all accounts a spirit so ceremony and silvered would work.
>>
>>98772748
Also some more WOG:
Twisted Flesh Conduction does work on people/animals as long as they aren't under someone else's aura.
Signature Technique does NOT make techniques cheaper (It CAN however make devotions more efficient, so stuff like Unstoppable Force can get the same result for less aura but it won't make Divine Hand not cost 12).
>>
>>98776152
>>98776153
>universal retards are arguing the ability that turns you into a spirit doean't actually turn you into a spirit
Eow alchemylets really are thr bad faith retards of SC if they're choosing to blatantly headcanon their own ability works differently than it says it does.
>>
>>98776158
It doesn't. That would be mentioned. Especially since there's already a solid logic to explain what actually happens - you get spirit weaknesses after you fully become a spirit, not while you're still mortal and only have the word spirit in your wallet so you can show it at the border station between reincarnation and the spirit womb.

>I don’t think there will ever be a case where you phase out selective parts of you

>>98776171
Majushins love their seven proxies, nothing new
>>
>>98776171
Tell me, if we are spirits, why do we have our flesh bodies and can regenerate aura normally like mortals.

Wouldn't that prove we are not spirits in the conventional sense? if thats true, its weakness being carried over or not are of course, a thing to discuss. But as the technique didn't mention them, and other choices in the cyoa do mention them (demon seed) wouldn't that prove the intention of the technique is clear.

Also, it would be weird for any legend status to offer a drawback in itself. No other technique, not only of the legend statuses, but of any technique in general has a drawback as a passive effect.
>>
It would be weird if the technique i argue is the strongest had a downside

you retards are aware you can turn off your own passives right? like, if you think your status as a spirit is a problem, just stop being a spirit

way back in the day, pca already said that infinite inertial hitting universal sovereign means you stop being slated to go to the spirit womb for 30 seconds

just do the same thing to yourself if you think being a spirit is a bad deal, you can turn it back on five minutes later
>>
>>98776307
Note: WLE on it's own doesn't let things shift back until you end the 10 devotion. If you get shot and a portion of you toro is in the mirror world, you have to end devotion to get it back.
However, if you also have Flicker Frake, you can devote from 1 to 5 more aura on top of your base 10 so that dodging quickly phases things into the mirror world and back again.
If you also know Mirror World Inversion, you can physically affect things in the real world from the mirror world. This costs nothing and is just a passive from knowing MWI.

it's a very different culture, but only in the sense that 99% of people aren't authors today, while back then 33% of people were authors

all the shitposting and arguments are still the same
>>
>>98776682
I wonder what caused the difference. Either most authors have left while most anons stayed, or a flood of newfags have overwhelmed the thread while contributing very few authors.
>>
>>98776838
NTA but the answer is likely both.
>>
>>98776857
>>98776838
it is probably both, pluse the way cyoas are done is just different, back then you'd get a lot of responses for small cyoas like the ones i made in those days, then other people would just make their own as well because it's easy to make a small cyoa like that, like some of these could be done in an hour

i would often say that of all the types of media, cyoas are the easiest to get into, becuase it takes so little time and you can still get something good if you make an honest attempt, these days anons treat it more like they treat big budget slop, participating in creating it seems unheard of and they'd rather let someone completely unrelated to the people in the metaphorical room make the rules for them rather than the more natural approach exemplified by kids just making up the rules of the game as they go along

at least it's not as bad as in actual big budget slop, because nobody is making money, so that's not an incentive toxic to the consumers the way it is in a lot of other media, however somehow anons decided that getting a thousand (you)s is still more important than just having fun and have still created a toxic incentive despite not really getting anything useful out of it like money

>>
>>98777047
Either go broader or go higher. Broader is spreading out across all of alchemy rather than just the medicine-related parts. Higher is doing silly shit with summons, but you can theme it in terms of medicine. Maybe open a hospital and pretend some medicine god that's actually just a major summon of yours is in charge, and the other smaller summons are its workers. Meanwhile you can be anything between a highly respected transfiguration surgeon down to the janitor who's only pretending to be a janitor.
>>
>>98777047
>>98777057
Oh, and this is of course even better if you take the new sect option. Your medicine can be a rival to the factions, except if you make them need you you get political leverage.

What would you want to talk about? It's been done to death.

I guess we can talk about how its impossible to make a good Dwarf build that isn't relying on Overendurance + "One" to squeeze as much use out of him as possible. Seriously, the Dwarf parents are so dogshit. Gramrouth is cool for a wandering magician but he's got Grey Wandering instantly gimping him as an option, Detmoun has has Treacherous Palm and even worse he's boring, leaving the only good option of Ragratelyn. Grim Outlook is good, her parenthood is also solid, the only downside is how competitive the Mother section is in general.

Her evil adoptive grandfather tortured her with a pit full of his familiars, which are magical worms, and inserted them wothin her for a magical ritual (inserting within her fragments of a tainted holy grail, so that she could become its second vessel), and to keep her under control, as he can kill her or take her over.

The funniest part of the situation is that despite being Rin's sister and their father deciding to give one girl away so both could be mages, he decided to fo it the fucking Worst way possible.
Tosaka magic relies heavily on imaginary numbers and void elementalism, Sakura was a Prodigy in that feild.
Matou magic reled heavily on water elementalism and the transmutation of elements, Rin was a prodigy in that field.
So their father decided to had Sakura to the Matou and train Rin in tousaka magic because Rin had 5 elemental affinities(none of which were Void) and her dad thought that was cool.
He wasn't just a sociopath, he was an Incompetent, Retarded Sociopath.

>>98777557
Her fifth element is ether which is void.
>>
>>98777557
Average one is great for tohasaka magecraft too, even if yeah, Rin would have been more suited for the Matou.
>>98777581
No, he's talking about Sakura and Rin's original father, the one who wormed Sakura is the one who adopted her, as their original father couldn't grow them both as mages, and knew that the Matou, who are family friends, lacked an heir.
>>
>>98777557
Rin canonically grows up to be one of the top 100 greatest mages in the history of Clock Tower, a world-spanning magical tradition stretching back over 2000 years. She's a super genius that would excel at anything.

My favourite clock tower genius is Aoko but as a Magician she’s in a league of her own.
>>
>>98777621
Her sister isn't any worse either. She deconstructed and reconstructed maou magecraft into something compatible with her afginity while restructuring the tainted grail into a part of her casting method.
She was literally turning into a Beast and usurping angry manju in the heaven's feel route.
Neither sister was lacking talent in any way.
>>
>>98777597
>Her fifth element is ether which is void.
Anon mis-spoke.
Sakura was a one in a billion mage with matching Origin and Element for Imaginary Numbers, not a standard Void/Ether element mage.
>>
>>98777635
Aoko's actual talent as a magus is lacking when you don't account for her True Magic. She's capable of ridiculous, world-shaping miracles when she uses it, but the normal general-purpose stuff outside of her specific wheel-barrel is lacking. Touko makes her help the protagonist as a kind of in-field training in Fate/Extra, and she is specifically noted to lack complexity as a teenager in Mahoyo. It's only after she matures as the Fifth that she is able to mature as a mage overall. She is very cute, though.
>>
>>98777655
>Aoko's actual talent as a magus is lacking when you don't account for her True Magic
Which is frustrating given her talent. Her mana efficiency is so high it actively disproved current clocktowers understandings of mana dynamics. She really could have become a world-class mage if she just fixed her mindset.
>>
>>98777636
>She was literally turning into a Beast and usurping angry manju in the heaven's feel route.
This isn't exact, Angra Mainyu is a curse, not a being, she wasn't usurping it, she was becoming her vessel, as Angra Mainyu by itself is just a mass of curses, just like it used Shirou as a basis to relate to humans in HA.
>>
>>98777665
She'll do it eventually. Her future self is even noted as a perpetual motion machine that can make it possible for humans to evolve to a space-faring species. It just takes time. Which, as a user of True Magic, she has an endless supply of, seeing as she gained agelessness, apparently automatically, after obtaining it -- in the Melty Blood remake, she even gives enchants somebody else to not age, which is wild given that human souls start to decay if left in one incarnation for too long in Type Moon.

There's only one box so if you pick Outer Tide anyone who also picks the box is probably going in there with you
I remember there being a decent amount of box builds last time so you'll probably get someone else in there with you if you pick it

Ok, let's see what's left in the box:

The chronological order is almost certainly jnpl > ymrd > srtr, as srtr would never have allowed earth as we know it, and if clearly referencing isekai tropes from earth, implying she's supposed to be alive right now as a stinky femcel neet

There was a build I made but never posted where one could always kill 0^0 by using the drakonid forms 4 eye benefit to stunlock her (3x oculus of human goodness + look of chaos) in a random dungeon and then randomly summoning majin until one of them can kill her
Stating this out loud makes me feel like re-optimising but I don't think I have the time

View of fore being turned into a technique would have large implications for the future, both in worldly benefits and implied spiritual progress to ascension

I love inner vision so fucking much

Greatriding spurs cheese

Big wait arenea

Big wait arenea + Infinite range eye bullshit

Magic is a perfect plot device until it is defined, and the reason the powers at be are not defining it in the halls of black and gold is implicatively to use it against you

The dragon judge returning is a bigger threat then 0^0 due to the inherent rhythms of narrative implying they have to kill you to re establish threat before 14th solo's

That's all I have left, I think
>>
>>98777701
Narratively it's a bad idea because it makes your abilities too similar, and therefore makes it easier to kill one of you off
Objectively it's a very middling use of thoroughbreeding
>>
>>98777878
Yeah that's basically how most stories work. The bad guys get the super op versatile powers that they use to create problems, the good guys get much more limited combat powers they use to punch those problems away.
>>
>>98777962
>Narratively it's a bad idea because it makes your abilities too similar, and therefore makes it easier to kill one of you off
I won't have it forever, I want to learn from Tenyota to make it into a shareable technique.
More generally my parents are Ratibor and Mayosara (because I feel they are two parents who will inherently be happier from having a child, and Ratibor is strong enough to protect us and avoid ending up like Charlie).
This means I have the all-glimpse, as I prefer it over Mayosara's eyes.
Now I was thinking to buff Apantoxia by giving her my numerous inborn gifts, but I don't know if I want to blind her.
>>
>>98777919
If you pick the box and the MP option you're going to have to deal with the century long demon orgy happening around you while you're playing Uno with SRTR
>>
>>98777972
In that case it would be very strong narratively, and quite strong objectively (Provided you are predisposed to the same ideas as apantoxia)
>>
>>98777952
I personally wouldn't trust the "one could always kill" you would need to set her up in a good trap, because one of the issues with dealing with mathemagicians is that they can disable inborn gifts. It happened to Achaxe.
>>
>>98777994
I cannot be killed before I enter my first dungeon, because of the fight with goblins I am to have there
The dungeon will be almost filled with one and only one slot open
I wait for a period of years looking directly at the door
It has been confirmed that certain majin can spawn with powers capable of harming 0^0
She cannot directly attack me or wish me harm, and cannot think of any plans

It seems airtight to me, as long as 3x oculus can stop her from leaving or casting direct magics to kill / disable me

Perhaps I should learn mathemagic and numerology before setting the trap, so that I might be able to block any mathemagic she tries to use on me
>>
>>98778003
why would she be forced to attack you directly? what is preventing her from using proxies?
>>
>>98777990
My main problem is about possibly damaging her life (and those of my future descendants) by making them blind, which would make me feel bad.
>>
>>98778009
Having all-glimpse pretty much compensates any blindness as they can still "see" with it.
>>
>>98778008
She can't plan
"Anything more complex than going after the enemy in the most straight line possible and hitting them with attacks produced by muscle memory will be beyond them" - look of chaos
>>
>>98778009
The all glimpse is a burden to bear, but it's usually one of too much awareness, not too little
It's a similar issue to making them born supersoldiers in the first place
All we can say is that someone has to hold the blade

There is always a cure to these things though. Some magical whatnot hidden under a waterfall
>>
Looking at the cyoa again
Every parent that doesn't take up a limited slot is so much better than the ones who do, unless those parents work perfectly for your build or are good misalliance bait.
>>
>>98778016
but how would you even get her alone? Then you also got to be sure that she doesn't have some light bending bullshit that just prevents you from looking directly at her via deus ex machina. Like you wouldn't be the first person to have look of chaos.

I'm never alone in the dungeon anyway, I'm endlessly spewing out majin. I don;t even need to send them out one by one, as the limit on the dungeons only applies for entering and leaving.
Me staying as an infinite untouchable majin factory is bad for her, and inevitable she will attempt to deal with the issue herself, and when she does I'll get her

Also dungeons have a limit of 4 people. No army possible

Buki ensures an encounter, not the death of either one of us
She literally needs to encounter me. Blowing up the continent I'm on wouldn't count
FATE means either she enters or I leave and I simply don't intend to leave. I will contemplate spells and summon powerful majin for any amount of time

I can send the majin out in groups, and I can have some of them return to give information

I don't think the dungeons can be meaningfully broken into given the dream magic involved, but I also don't think 0^0 will know that it's a trap, given I won't label myself as the 11th outsider
Fate doesn't tell the people it's manipulating that it's manipulating them

Obviously I intend to complete every encounter other then the one that always triggers when I enter my first dungeon, then enter the dungeon and set the trap

Ugh... aren't you kinda expecting FATE to work too much in your favour, your expecting that it will pretty much force 0^0 to go into a dungeon she has no need to go into, instead of just forcing you out of the dungeon. Like if neither you intend to leave, nor does she intend to enter FATE will eventually force someone out and considering that you are the one with the death letter wouldn't it primarally target you? Like the plan could work on paper, but do you really think your going to have the willpower to just sit in the same dungeon for decades on end.
>>
>>98778133
She has no reason to fear the dungeon, I consider it life and death that I remain inside
She can be affected by every possible force of chaos, I am in a closed perimeter with servants killing anything that breathes
With multioccular I can also use other eyes + sight beyond sight to effect the world without leaving the dungeon. Kneeling twilight prevents boredom. The only reason for me to leave is that my quest has been completed

The death letter MUST force her to follow me
>>
>>98778158
well why wouldn't she send in scouts first? Why would there be a reason for her to personally enter a dungeon, when its SRTRs domain.
>>
>>98778173
She could send scouts, and they would instantly die
>>
>>98778192
and then she would know its a trap... and would start preparing accordingly.
>>
>>98778197
She would believe it was the base of operations for a very powerful demonlord, it wouldn't be unexpected for basic defenses to be present
And FATE dictates she must eventually either drive me out or enter by herself
>>
>>98778204
yeah and she can probably drive you out, like what are you going to do if you have to fight an agent that has a death slot that can't be triggered in a dungeon, something like YER. Then you won't be able to insta kill them.
>>
>>98777952
>The dragon judge returning is a bigger threat then 0^0
Wait when and how?
>>
>>98778222
The when is after 0^0 is defeated and there is a long period of peace
The how is that they have dream shenanigans ready and charging, and have already spread to every dungeon in the world and taken the entire underground
>>
>>98778219
I would just summon something to mindcontrol them
Because I have infinite majins, and infinite time
And also the ability to cast magic
>>
>>98778234
ugh... that problem is that you don't have infinite majin, you are limited by the dungeon capacitiy restriction so, plus the whole supply issue, you still need to feed the majin and I don't think there is food and water in the dungeons. What if they just send in a suicide bomber into the dungeon, who just explodes the moment they get in?
>>
>>98778247
Don't "ugh..." me you fucking brat
The dungeon limitation stops people from entering, it does not stop people from existing, and thusly would not stop them from spawning majin above the limit
I both can summon temp majin who don't need to be fed, and can send them out of the dungeon
I can perceive outside the dungeon and if they send a suicide bomber I can act accordingly
Also, said bomber can't kill me, because I can't die until 0^0 meets me
>>
>>98778277
ehh... I am too lazy to argue, this is a dumb plan that relies on the enemy doing a very dumb move and not finding anyways to go around it. It relies on too much stuff going your way. Like even the suicide bomber doesn't even have to kill you if it blinds you then your eye powers no longer work. There are way too many ways to go around this even beyond what I suggested.
>>
>>98778286
What was your plan?
>>
>>98778230
Yeah, but Xian killed the Judge. Unless maybe whatever he did to the Midnight Point might grant him a comeback?

>Magic is a perfect plot device until it is defined, and the reason the powers at be are not defining it in the halls of black and gold is implicatively to use it against you
Everything the gods do has a singular purpose, but how are they fucking you over with spiritual feel and intuition?
>>
>>98778384
I am only assuming the judge comes back directly, but there should be a single intellectual representation of the living and malicious dream, and if there were it would probably be the judge

>Everything the gods do has a singular purpose, but how are they fucking you over with spiritual feel and intuition?
I don't mean that magical choices are a trap option, I mean that them having the ability to retcon what magic can do and when is intentional, and the first thing an outsider should do once they land on the world is determine in excruciating detail what could be possible, so that it can't be changed
>>
>>98778400
Thats a heavy assumption, we dont even know if his corpse was turned into sludge in the underground. That would open up the idea of multiple true dagons resurrecting through the nightmare, if that is even possible after what Vitorusha did.

>I mean that them having the ability to retcon what magic can do and when is intentional
High level paranoia. The likelyhood of them agreeing well enough to do so during your lifetime is slim. JNPL isnt going to let you live that long anyways.

why is the 14th so important?
>>
>>98778465
The 14th is who I am guessing will be fighting the dragon judge
12th either comes right before the defeat of 0^0 or shortly after
13th is rising tension
14th defeats the dragon and changes the world

Extreme headcanon

>Thats a heavy assumption, we dont even know if his corpse was turned into sludge in the underground. That would open up the idea of multiple true dagons resurrecting through the nightmare, if that is even possible after what Vitorusha did.
There has been some talk about the implications behind the existence of Araith, who may or may not be the first true dragon, now borne from the nightmare, who will then go on the rebirth the others
Or something like that
It does open the possibility of a world ending crisis, and that's the point, it's the next crisis, and while you are narratively supposed to be able to deal with this one, you narratively shouldn't be able to solve the next one alone unless you plan for it

>High level paranoia.
Yeah
>The likelyhood of them agreeing well enough to do so during your lifetime is slim.
It's the type of thing they definitely could do though. Mandate the creation of a spell that could destroy you. You have to double check
>JNPL isnt going to let you live that long anyways.
No matter the challenge, you must rise to meet it. It's not the best thing you can do, it's the only thing you can do
The only choice is to Live, and the how is your discretion
>>
>>98777952
Dragon judge can't return, Tankista remarked multiple times True dragons can't exist anymore in the world, nor can they be reanimated.
Also you're being far too optimistic in your odds vs 0^0.
>>
>>98778487
Honestly nice take, if a little generous with the timeframes. Google translate for Araith gives me an association with speech, so maybe you intend for them to defy the gods and their script louder than any before them?

>who may or may not be the first true dragon
I know you want to headcanon, but we already know who the first true dragon is, the mother of the second seat. Or maybe you could say that the nightmare gave birth to the amalgamation once more instead?

The idea that the dragon Judge comes back is cool, other than 0^0, the firstborn empire and the old throne, none has held such a vast amount of territory. Also, having to fight against an enemy of Xian the goat sounds nice and terrifying at the same time. Since you dont have him around to help deal with matters this time.

>It does open the possibility of a world ending crisis, and that's the point, it's the next crisis, and while you are narratively supposed to be able to deal with this one, you narratively shouldn't be able to solve the next one alone unless you plan for it
Again, Xian dealt with both the Judge and Erginter in his heyday. One was without the backing of the outsider system.

Like most, i believe that Pandemonium is an even bigger threat than the judge and 0^0 both. Truth is that the 12th will likely become aware of this and a few other smaller things you were unable to prioritize. They will overall have more freedom than you had. The other big issue is if YMRD throws Erginter 2.0 at you, But if you are lucky, Savmak(the sword) and the Keter will be there to back you up.

>It's the type of thing they definitely could do though.
SRTR is my patron god, i refuse to believe she would throw me under the bus without a heads up.
>No matter the challenge, you must rise to meet it.
All outsiders are touched by the god of the epic, to live a life with no regrets is the best we can strive for.

People always have some interesting takes on OR, always fun to read.
>>
>>98778635
>Dragon judge can't return
They were all removed by vtorusha crashing the foundation of their existence, but the fact vtorusha created a logic error implies that there is a way they could sneak back into existence
This is based on something someone else said, but it was vaguely: The logical error that breaks solipsism is that to say you cannot be affected by anything in existence implies you were never born, and by pointing this out vtorusha removed the birth of the true dragons, but through the dream/nightmare it is possible for something like them to be born, and so if they are born to araith, who will retroactively become the first true dragon, then they can unilaterally reclaim existence
Something like that anyway. They have to create their own birth and once they do that it's everyone's problem

>Also you're being far too optimistic in your odds vs 0^0.
Obviously it would still take work, and active involvement in the world, but having a trump card that could hypothetically kill her ready seems like something that won't backfire
It can be combined with other plans

>>98778649
>The idea that the dragon Judge comes back is cool

OR is a cool setting

I have not seen either naruto nor boruto, but I know intuitively that naruto is/was defeated by an antagonist to set the stage for boruto to defeat them

>Like most, i believe that Pandemonium is an even bigger threat than the judge and 0^0 both
Oh yeah, I forgot about that
They are quite dream related, so they could be placed into the same narrative as a mastermind behind some amount of dream spreading, who then needs to be defeated by someone after 14th
