>>98784053
>>98784111>TQIt's outrageous that there still is no Imperator titan model and rules for AT
>>98784126Despite being present at Terra, the White Scars never armed themselves with Iliastus assault cannons like IF and BA did because they were too busy sallying forth from the walls to properly adopt new armaments in any notable capacity. After all, why not stick with what you know? The legion techmarines already have their hands full trying to patch up the rest of their vehicle pool and weapons, why bother giving them something new and complicated to get bogged down with?
>>98784239Knights are fine, if not good. They do very well in most events. You're looking at the lancer wrong, it's meant to charge big things like tanks or dreadnoughts and run them through with its shock lance doing 5 damage with each hit. Not wade through hordes of infantry, that's the castigator's job.
>>98784372Knights are OK, they are not great, they are not terrible, the biggest issue is, not many of them are relaly worth taking for the point cost. The biggest issue with them, is LMAO WS4 The biggest threat to your knight now is not big shooty stuff, its random WS5 SGTs or vets coming in and chopping you off at the knees. With out fail my 10 man vet breacher squad with las cutters do the emperors work and saw knights off at the knees.
>>98784507Anon veteran breachers with lascutters cut everything off at the knees, not even superheavies survive their wrath. Ironically, the counter to them is hordes of ws4 melee units, because vet breachers only have two attacks each and their invuln save doesn't help then vs weight of dice attacks
>>98784521Oh im well aware of what the counter is, im saying though that knights get fucked on by WS5 units because of the shit WS chart of 2.0 and 3.0.
>>98784507>With out fail my 10 man vet breacher squad with las cutters do the emperors work and saw knights off at the knees.Whoa, the melee unit designed to turn anything with an AV value into molten scrap manage to do that to a knight? Say it aint so!Anon those vet breachers are nearly the came cost as a knight, and are much slower and have much shorter ranges. >>98784372Knights at events benefit from being a skew list in a format that encourages generalist lists. If your opponent knows you are taking knights and takes suitable levels of AT you will have a bad time eating rapiers to the face. But if your opponent does not know/cant rely on it and brings an all rounder list? Suddenly youre invincible. Id wager custodes, armored coprs of SA/militia and infantry spam SA/Militia also do very well at events. Also admech.
>>98784241I figure it's a mix of its profitability dropping off too quickly and the designers not really knowing what to do with it
>>98784528The best and safest way to deal with WS 5 melee units is and always has been shooting them dead. Throwing your own WS 5 unit at it relies too much on the dice going your way.

Going to use a genestealer magus as a davinite priest/navigator for my allied SA. Do you think simply sanding the ridges off the head (plus removing gsc iconography. obviously) is enough, or should I give her a bandage over the eyes to do a sort of "blind seer" thing?

>>98785873headswap, give her the longhead skull from the Amazonian blood bowl team
>>98786228dont have that. If I was going to headswap id get the infocite assassin head, or a reaver jetbike one.
>>98786216Honestly, yes. A whole epic refresh would go so hard.
>>98786263indeed, alas, it is my conviction that titanicus was made for the sole reason of ligma and the only reason why ligma will remain heresy only (mostly marines) is because xenofags are picky. regardless of what size and price a marine model is released, piggers will slop up. but xenofags? if they can have a 2k army for fraction of a price then they will go for the cheaper smaller variant and never bother for the more expensive standard scale.I'm surprised KT hasn't murdered the xeno sales yet with its myriad of xeno teams. a xeno titan would imply epic xenos and GW must NOT allow for such hearsay and rumors to exist. better to stay out of sight and out of mind than to allow Consumers™ to fantasize and even proont cheaper xenos. epic xenos never ever.
>>98785873Very basic conversion work, but shes mostly done. Just need to touch up the blindfold once the greestuff solidifies and also finish making the chest area a bit more defined in places via some gentle scraping.
>>98785040Sure but we're talking mechanicum infantry size.
>>98786571Huh, that is quite a bit bigger than I expected/the image made them look. .
>>98786620Being serious about size for a moment, not sure how big the pinup chicks are. The models from that brand tend to be quite big, but if theyre scaled for 25mms then maybe theyre going to be only marine size.

>>98786963Looks great. How did you find the laser rapiers in game? I have three on the way for my militia.
>>98787079For militia rapiers can never be better than BS3, so hitting on 4+ as they don't get buffed from some of the province choices like weapon teams do BUT when they hit they fuck stuff up really well. I love them for popping vehicles and dreads + they are cheap and easy to hide in terrain. You should always take them in multiple split up groups to mitigate status and casualties. They have a great damage profile and in the last event killed a landraider, rhino, arakne turret, thallax squad a bunch of other stuff.

>>98787645Thanks anon, they are a real effort to paint for a T3 army but they look and play fun on the table. I need to do up 30 more but all ranged attack options for outflanking. Here is a cool pic of 2 cavalry units and the beastmasters swarming a kitting out BA vet breacher squad. Only thing left after 2 rounds of combat was the BA champion here who attached to the unit.
>>98787673Militia Beastmaster Troop, you can choose to use them as Dogs, Cats or lizards and birds and each choice has different stats/specialities. I ran them as the cats for better movement and initiative and they actual became really high performing on the charge with good province choices buffing them at WS5, I5 and 2 Attack and then bogging down marines.

Regarding Imperators I've wildly misunderestimated how long it will take to print an 8mm scaled version of the original Imperator on a Mars printer. It's taken 2x 2 hour prints just to make the shin bastions which are bigger than a Falchion. It will take probably 15 build plates to make it. I'm just going to make a Warmonger and eventually an Imperator to convert into an Abominatus once I find STLs of all the models Gav Thorpe used in the original conversion

This is the second time they’ve fucked up terminator models. Idk how but they managed it,
>>98790376>miniature
>>98790400I disagree. But it is true here.
>>98790387Dunno what is wrong with whatever team designs the infantry for HH but so far they destroy everything they touch. They can't even make terminators look like proper terminators for crying out loud. At least recasters exist, so we can still get the old, proper models.
>>98790387These and the new Cataphractii just read as "slightly heavier regular power armor" than Tactical Dreadnought armor.
>>98790401When everybody unanimously agrees the models look like shit you know it's very, very bad.
>>98790387I don't care for the chunky Aquila on the helmet, chestplate and leg.
>>98790406What, you want a real life sized Imperator titan?
>>98790411What bothered me the most of out the Cata downgrade was that they made the fists smaller for absolutely no reason. Terminator fists have always been bigger, and now some hotshot sculptor just... decided that they're not going to be anymore. 40K got great looking Indomi termies, and we're left with this garbage.
>>98790427How else would you know they are custodes and not some DA specific termie lmfao.
>>98790461Well they share little in common with the Dark Angels aesthetic for starters, but having incredibly elaborate and fine details would be quite a bit more fitting than these oversized blotches all over.
>>98790165 No it's modern AT scale. It's just because it's the size of a 28mm knight with loads of pieces and I have a small printer.

>>98784111BASED KING OF AT
>>98784528The WS chart is based though
>>98791503TOW's and old 40k edition one was better
>>98791515No. Too much 'you hit on 4s.'If you have better WS it should be harder to be hit than a 50/50. Plus with even more shooting in the game than ever if you get something into combat it should rip it apart. No one like long drawn out indecisive shit, especially when the game is already 4 fucking turns. If anything, tOW should adopt this WS chart. It would help high WS infantry get a survivability boost against shit like 'hordes of dudes', in particular for elves who have garbage armor and T3. A fucking normal human shouldn't be able to hit a space Marine in CC 50% of the time. Neither should some smelly peasant or state troop fresh off the farm be able to hit an elf (or dwarf) on a 4 either.
>>98791515Dumb ass
>>98791570Ok
>>98791545IDK, mass WS5 terminator spam isn't that fun to deal with tbqh
>>98791515Disagree. WHFBs weaponskill chart is kinda mostly irrelevant. But it also exists in a game where WS is more varied and there are/were more ways to mess with it. Double+1 works when you have say, WS2 dudes running around, or spells that drop/buff WS. It does not work then 99% of units are either WS4 or 5.
>>98791591It isnt, but its also weak as shit. The answer to "mass ws5 terminators" is to avoid the 3~ slow telegraphed units and their transports and call it a day. There isnt really meant to be a "good" way to kill terminators because the point of terminators is that theyre the toughest infantry possible. The downside is that theyre really expensive and slow.
>>98791641Basically: I play Warriors of Chaos, theyre one of the highest WS armies in the game. That rarely feels important. Sure, its a bit more damage in some combats, but you rarely ever go "wow, im ws5 fighting ws3, this should be really favored for me" because that ws3 dude hits you like youre ws3.
>>98791647Hmmm... fair en ough
>>98789050Thanks anon! yeah I am using them as allies until I can finish the full militia 3k army. Militia as a painting and modelling project feels like 3 times the amount of work a marine project is so I need to go slow and not burn out. So far I have like 1250ponts painted so I can easily slot that into any other armies as a fast expendable allied force.I also really want to do a big 1500 points of siege of terra style conscripts they describe in the books, real low class, 2nd hand supplies and kit Scripts pressed ganged into being road bumps for the siege, but I reckon I need different heads/helms to make them look more loyalist.

>>98794253For building, I have no idea - the Cataphractii Warsmith is basically out the box, while the Artificer one you'd have to scratchbuild / use the old metal one? However on the table the Artificer one has more options for how you build them (full Praetor armoury) while the Cataphractii one is monobuild (Cyberfamiliar optional).Artificer is cheaper (base), faster (+1M), and can fit in a Rhino / with standard footsloggers, but loses the +1T and +1W of the Cataphractii. On the other hand, the Cataphractii only really pairs with other Cataphractii and needs a Land Raider (minimum) to get anywhere fast.
>>98792742I've had one cooking for a while but first I need to write enough content to carry at least the first issue before I became the editorial King in the Castle and start asking for submissions. >>98794253go with artificer - more loadout options and depending on the bits you use for building, he will be unique. the downside it is that you need to acquire a servo arm, especially if you dont want one in resin and care about those particular equipment details.
>>98794362>>98794663nta but do you really need more options when you want the graviton crusher, which is a better thunder hammer, anyway?

Pretty new to the hobby. Noticing a lot of minis that are still resin instead of plastic on the WH website, and I don't know the general release cadence of Heresy stuff, so would it be better to hold off and hope for a future plastic version, or just say fuggit and go with resin anyway

>>98794783It's less points than a MoS + a Rhino you need to transport a 6 man veteran/command squad in.
>>98794811go with resin, the odds of the unit you want being updated any time soon are low. Theres a lot of pretty basic stuff that hasnt been updated yet.
>>98794808>Much more expensive thoughWithout upgrades a command rhino is only 5 points more than a MoS...
>>98794816Genuine retardation on my part but what would be the point of putting him and the vet squad in the rhino when I could have him hiding in the back?
>>98794825You misunderstand. You don't need the MoS when you take a command rhino. The command rhino can also serve as a transport for a vet squad. That way you can save 55 points.
>>98794822Oh word? What the hell was I looking at?
>>98794844I get it now, but what I don't get now is using the Damocles Rhino as a transport, isn't that just risking losing the command vox relay? I guess having it hide in the back it might as well be a MoS... much to ponder on

I've almost finished Echoes of Eternity and it's just horrible schlock. This is literally Marvel tier. There is no mythic register anymore, it just feels like some reddit superhero crap. Bligh was the doomed sage and now we have grimdark mediocrity of Black Library and corporate hacks. The Arkhan Land shit is the most reddit tier slop I've ever read and despite Dembski-Bowden deliberately and self consciously referencing in meta how silly saccharine tropes are he repeatedly does them in this shitty Marvel book. Also the tiresome nihilism and midwittery, I can't tell if he sometimes believes he's being philosophical in his writing. >>98794987Newfag. When HH first came out there was controversy over that rule. The explanation was that the Legiones Astartes would tactically retreat as part of battle calculus, not fear. E.g, "AAAAAAH NIGHT LORD FLESH PELT SO SCARY" (they had endure all the horrors of the Great Crusade 10x over)
>>98795037>not fearExcept it literally is, which is why "fear" is a literal rule.

>>98795115Buddy, you can go check what rule demons had in 1e if you want. You can cope about how your dudes are totes brave, but theyre objectively not. They panic, they are affected by fear, they break and run from combat. Astartes are simply conditioned to be more tolerant of fear than mortals.

>>98795245>that 40k marines had back thenthat loyalist marines had back then.
>>98795122Shut the fuck up newfag. The GAME RULES are not representative 1:1 with the LORE. Retard. Space Marines are hypno-indoctrinated ultra-numbed psycho soldiers whose number 1 trait as forged by the Emperor besides sheer physicality was psychic/mental resilience, because they had an entire galaxy to conquer with innumerable horrors and terrors. They did not know fear in a very LITERAL sense and in combat they retreat and adjust in order to adapt. It is a rational process. They do not see a big scary monster and feel fear like a mortal human does. They assess and know its power, and if it is TOO powerful they retreat and reassess what weaponry and reinforcements they need to tackle it. They can be caught by surprise like in an ambush, but they do not get crippled by fear like a normal soldier could. That is the basic premise that defines a Space Marine.
>>98795407>Space Marines are hypno-indoctrinatedNot in heresy times they arent dipshit. >They assess and know its power, and if it is TOO powerful they retreat and reassess what weaponry and reinforcements they need to tackle it.Yup, there has never been such a thing as space marines routing, you are very smart.

>>98795439>30k40k
>>98795043It isn't. Space marines don't feel fear, that's why they gave them the rule "And They Shall Know NO FEAR"They do a disciplined tactical retreat when their current placement is no longer sound, but there's zero fear involved. It's like threatening a chess engine's knight and he makes it jump backwards to safety. The engine was not "scared", it simply thinks the knight is currently overextended and tactically retreat will increase odds of securing a victory.
>>98795421Black Book I - Betrayal:p28:>The resultant Space Marine is in many ways no longer functionally human, but in others massively advantaged in terms of physical strength, durability and reflexes over even the most physically adept unaugmented human warrior. Their bodies are also phenomenally efficient biological engines, resistant to disease, contamination, radiation and poison. In addition they are also all but impervious to the natural consequences of aging and cell decay to the extent that other than by extreme physical trauma or incremental toxin and contaminate damage, they may in fact be functionally immortal or at least have lifespans far beyond that of the human stock from which they were taken.p27:>With rigorous training and mental conditioning they became not only immensely strong and tough, but iron-willed and disciplined, an unstoppable force whose loyalty to the Emperor was unflinching. So they were disciplined and loyal, but nowhere is it said that they are fearless.Additionally, p27 further remarks:>Such accelerated gene-seed techniques, along with absent, inadequate or over-forceful psycho-indoctrination techniques were later found to have unseen fundamental flaws. Many since have come to believe that the drive to create larger Legions at speed had a prime role in the degradation in the sanity and physiological make-up of certain Legions and paved the way for the horror that was to come.Meaning that the Legions use of psycho-indoctrination was (at best) enough to render them disciplined and loyal, and at worst broke their minds, did not take, or was not present to affect them.If you want to argue about the tabletop rules, note that no space marine unit in all of 30k has ever had the Universal Special Rule 'And They Shall Know No Fear'.
>>98795472Space marines are affected by the rule fear, and therefore actually do feel fear, regardless of what their marketing line suggests.
>>98795472>that's why they gave them the rule "And They Shall Know NO FEAR"they've never had that rule in 30k, it was only ever in 40k
>>98795472The rigorous indoctrination, hypno-conditioning, and heavy scrutiny from the chaplains of space marine recruits was put in place as a result of the Heresy. Before that marines didn't have their minds mutilated to the same degree.

>>98801691Is there something that looks and feels like DA outside of w40k/HH, I must say I know very little to nothing about games outside of those two. Is there like a knight orders game, or something similar? Probably not a place to ask around here. But who knows, maybe in a week or two GW informs us that in preparation for 4th ed, they will drop a set of two plastic primarch each month.
>>98801729In the last turn Laserbeak destroys the warhound in a charge, but the reaver does enough damage with its smash attack that Laserbeak's reactor overload destroys it. The enemy warlord is attacked in the rear by the knights that do a fair bit of damage but Bossman has to engage it to get the structure compromised only to end up killing it after its forced to use its volcano cannon. My opponent did pretty well for a first game but their titans didn't have much anti-armor capability so once my shields were down they struggled with doing damage. Play Titanicus.
>>98801672Going to build mine with a bunch of different status weapons and lascutters. Shotguns, combi-flamers, combi-graviton, a real breach and clear squad.
>>98801636If we accept printing then no loadout is that expensive really. And everyone ran the disntigrators, thats the whole point of the unit, they were the cool variant terminators who got what was (at the time) a super limited weapon system. Honestly I think part of the reason nullificators arent a thing yet is that its hard to make "wow they have disintigrators" feel special now theyre a balanced special weapon.
