Basing helps a lot.
Sponge chipping on armor bits too. Of course everything in moderation as too much will be a negative.

I quite like the double edge highlighting on this one. Perhaps one of my other models I'll try that technique again.
>>98804293
Yeah. People joke about nuln oil beind liquid skill but it's lowk true, even just spread over flat surfaces the somewhat random dark portions add a 3 dimensional look that is just really nice. I think on my next model I'm going to paint all the colors first, and then wash the entire thing after.

Yeah you just gotta be sparse with it. Like a glancing hit, you need to do just small strikes.
If its fat and thick, no worries. Just put black then metal inside the splatch, and make it look like the paint came off of the armor (the black serves as a "shadow" to give it volume) For chitin do the same but with flesh (or whatever color you used for the flesh) instead of the metal color.
Pic rel were mistakes because I put too much paint at first.

Maybe I could do a diorama of a dead hellblaster in a car in winter. That's spooky right?
>>
>>98804334

>>98804338

Iron Warriors and TS both serve in the black legion so yeah, it works if you paint them up in BL, but minor heraldry hints to their OG legions.

Imperium - Adepta Sororitas - BringersofFlame, SacredChampions

Intranzia Fraye (135pts)
Junith Eruita (105pts)
Morvenn Vahl (215pts)
Hospitaller (65pts)
Hospitaller (75pts)

10x Celestian Sacresants (150pts)
10x Celestian Sacresants (150pts)
10x Dominion Squad (110pts)
10x Dominion Squad (110pts)
Castigator (165pts)
Castigator (165pts)
Exorcist (180pts)
3x Paragon Warsuits (195pts)
Immolator (115pts)
Sororitas Rhino (65pts)
>>
>>98804375
I can only recall the 500pt allied CSM unit rule, but for IW this isn't really a problem. IW are rather generic, IIRC; it's just their paint scheme that is different. As for TS, just proxy their sorcerers as regular Chaos sorcerers and bring some rubricae.

Because it has been an AoS/HH/ToW/BB/KT/UW/LotR/Munda week? That does happen from time to time.

Yeah, you'll be fine, that's basically an all-star of the current sister meta units. Could probably drop Fraye to upgrade the rhino into another immolator and some random chaff like arco-flagellants, that'd get you a more sacrifical units (since you can split another dominion unit), but I don't think it's necessary.

The more I think about it the more divided my thoughts are. I also quite enjoy the concept of night lords, and Emperor's Children are at least interesting. However above all else my problem with Chaos isn't the lore but the aesthetics, thousand sons are just about the only csm that I can stand to look at for more than a few minutes. Quite the dilemma indeed.

Space marines they ain't what they used to be
Ain't what they used to be
Ain't what they used to be
>>
>>98804453
Ok, so you have effectively 5 sacrifice pieces, stuff you don't mind losing. Those are the dominions (with one being split by the immolator), the immolator and the rhino. The castigators and exorcists can also do the job in a pinch but you kinda really want them doing work so trading them away without getting a return is bad. Sacresancts are bulky as shit but will go down to a determined opponent (and they fucking hate AP-1 bolters, repulsors and the like are a pain for them) and anyone with good melee characters will precision out the hospitallers asap. You have an absolutely vicious counterpunch with Vahl and the Castigators, so you'll want to leverage that.
You start the game by putting dominions on the central objective and your own expansion, utilize hidden to force your opponent forward while keeping the rest of your army safe (Vahl especially, she's crucial) and the Sacresancts ready to move up (if anyone wants to gas into them while they're hidden that's fine). Depending on what they have, they might need to commit something real to clear dominions and a transport. If they don't have to, you put the Sacresancts forward and that WILL require a real response which you can then punish. If they have to, you can start punching back with Castigators. Keep Vahl back until you absolutely need her, she's the backbreaker, if she can take out their best response to her she'll rampage and kill one or two units every turn for the rest of the game and that usually wins you the game.

>>98804500

>>
>>98804499
Well, yeah that's the problem. I think some of the traitor legions have interesting stories but the aesthetics aren't for me

Of course, if I go with iron warriors(or even alpha legion) since they aren't as big on the whole "getting possessed by horrors" deal I could just paint regular marines the right color and give them close-enough weapons
>>
>>98804502
Why would anyone weep about hellblasters?
>>
>>98804514
those two are probably your best bet like you mentioned. are you dead set on getting space marines though? maybe a xenos faction might also be cool
>>

>>
>>98804524
At least a year.
>>
>>98804525
How long in a car?
>>
>>98804524
you can finish a squad of 5 in a few hours and a box of 10 in twice that
>>
>>98804499
No plan survives contact with the enemy, so always be ready to be flexible and adjust on the fly if something doesn't go as planned. Sometimes Vahl might have to do that cleanse action rather than gun down a transport, sometimes your opponent gets a god roll on their saves (if you're facing space wolves, expect a ton of 4+ invulns, they love their storm shields) and you should be ready to adjust, especially early game when you still have plenty of resources.
As for specific tips... Castigators can apply their bonus AP with any weapon, so shooting all their real guns at something you want to kill and the storm bolter at the next target in line to get the AP for the next Castigator is how you want to do it. Precision requires line of sight to the character *model*, and while you usually can't avoid it, always try and keep your Hospitallers out of LoS from enemy characters (any space wolf character will butcher a hospitaller with ease) by tucking them in corners and behind walls. They've got those irritating fuckhueg bases so it's tricky, but often doable and keeping them alive makes a huge difference in how Sacresancts operates, since they're very difficult to actually wipe out, and respawning even a few is a huge pain in the ass for most opponents because dealing with them after your counterpunch is much harder.

>>
>>98804522
Well I might well never actually build the army because I have several others I want to do but with the way the story for my main guys is going I want to have at least one major campaign against each of the main faction types. I already have plans for them to fight with my Eldar over some sacred artefacts and for them to have a civil war against some sororitas and guard elements due to them being false flagged so that just leaves a proper chaos army to round things out, and frankly demons are even worse in the "horrifically ugly" department than the marines so

D4 is good, D2 is good if you can spread it out across activations, they have a strat (assuming they play the codex terminator detachment which seems exceedingly likely) for -1d for an activation for terminators. If you have some way to ignore modifiers (wolf guard are -1 to wound) that's also useful. Be ready for Rapid Ingress.

You have a base layer or 'underpaint' that is a certain color. You then use an ink (basically a very transparent pigment that tends to stain, you can also just use a very thin glaze) that goes overtop, and the interaction between the underpaint and ink gives you a color that otherwise would be very difficult to mix or it gives you a "depth".

>Ramblin' Snappers are powerful and resilient creatures, that can be found on many worlds, especially Death Worlds.

>They are known to adapt well to their environments and despite the Snappers' size, the creatures are unusually stealthy. When they attack, their favourite tactic is to build up a little speed before charging at their prey. The Snappers will then trample their victims beneath their bulk and then use their massive razor-sharp claws to tear their prey apart. However the creatures are rather clumsy due to their bodies being very top heavy, which can be used against them. Guardsmen who have enough time to notice a Snapper's attack, can usually dodge the creatures' initial charge and are able to kill them before the Snappers can attack again

>Kromlok Danglers are exceptionally dangerous winged creatures, that are found on the mountain regions of Kromlok, which they are named after.

>They hide in the mountains, during the day, but once Kromlok's sun sets, the swift Danglers use their exceptional vision to begin hunting for food. The creatures do so in complete silence, even when they descend and skewer their prey with a barb extended from the Danglers' torsos. They have quick reflexes and rely on hit and run attacks to kill their prey. If the victim is small enough, though, the creatures can quite often use their momentum to lift the prey up into the air and use the remains to feed their young. The largest Dangler killed to date was measured at 5 metres and is estimated to have been able to carry approximately 65 kg. However as not many of the Danglers have been killed, it is difficult to estimate how large the creatures can be. Though as men larger than that have gone missing on Kromlok, it can be assumed that much larger Danglers prowl the world's mountains

>It was discovered by the crew of an Adeptus Mechanicus Mining Barge, that was sent to harvest TK421's resources. The Servitors assigned to the Barge, then proceeded to create a lattice of tunnels within the asteroid, which allowed the Arenea Stalker to cast its webbing to drift in the tunnels' zero gravity atmosphere. This then led to twenty Servitors being caught by the Stalker, along with the two Tech-Adepts who went searching for them. They were all then drained of their blood by the creature and only the Servo-Skull accompanying the Adepts escaped this fate. It later returned to the Mining Barge with the video recording of the Arenea Stalker, which provided proof of the creature's existence

>They have a tough armoured body with the head of a Lictor, along with eight legs that end in translucent tan claws and a whip-like tail that has poison filled barbs. Debilithraxes have the ability to sense prey above ground and use their quick reflexes to emerge and strike them with their tail. The creatures' poison quickly kills Humans and the attacks are so silent, that the only noise Debilithraxes make before they strikes is the rustling of sand as they emerge from the ground. This is followed by the death cries of their victims, and a swish of sand as the remains are pulled underground. This causes craters to be formed in the sand, which are the only evidence that is left behind of the Debilithraxes' attacks. The creatures are also capable of pulling entire tents underground as well.

>The Dakkarian Brain Slug are parasitic creatures, that are found in the dense jungles of Dakkar.

>They turn their prey into puppets after directly attaching themselves to a host's nervous system. This is done by breaking the dermal layer of skin on the back of the host's skin, where the creatures feed themselves on their victims' blood. Once under the Slugs' control, the hosts become the creatures' puppets and can move even when dealt deadly wounds, that would normally kill them. When the Slugs are directly threatened, though, the parasites can also hide within the opening they made, and then extend a small breathing tube out so they can pass undetected amongst uninfected creatures. Combined with the ability to quickly change hosts, regardless of their size, Brain Slugs are possibly the most insidious and deadliest creatures Dakkar has to offer. There are even persistent rumours that the parasites have sought to gain passage off-world by purposely attaching themselves to Imperials destined for Astra Militarum Conscript Barges. However even the slightest hint of a Brain Slug infestation, will have Guardsmen with flamers unleashed to cleanse entire Conscript contingents. Though given the parasites' abilities to quickly hide or infest different hosts, it is near impossible to ensure that a Brain Slug infestation has been completely eliminated.

Most of their enormous bulk remains hidden under Gorzal's clouded waters, and the Lurkers use their crab-like legs, which end in tentacle-claws, to move across the Swamp World's surface. Only the creatures' many-eyed ocular stalks jut from the water, as they do so and search for prey. When some come within range of the creatures, the Lurkers burst forth and use their large, bladed arms to skewer the prey, before the creatures drag the remains down into their mouths. The Lurkers also has the ability to regenerate any damage they suffer as well. Worse still, it is not unheard of to encounter specimens that are 120 metres in length and some claim they have narrowly survived encounters with Lurkers that are three times that size.

These claws are also the main way the creatures feed themselves, as while they have extremely sharp teeth, the Brood Crawlers' claws, short necks and small mouths get in the way of the creatures using them. The creatures way of solving this problem, is to chop up their prey into pieces and then tossing the remains into their mouths. Those Humanoids that fall under the Horrors' sway become physically connected by the back of their heads to the parasites, through the creatures' long tendril, and becomes their slaves. The creatures are then able to fully control theirs hosts and feed on their victims' psychic energy. >Shelled Slashers are deadly, burrowing shelled creatures, that are native to the Imperial Desert World Drisdan III.

>As Drisdan III is in the projected path of Hive Fleet Leviathan, it is believed that the Shelled Slasher was originally a Tyranid seed-creature from the Hive Fleet, that landed on the Desert World. They have since adapted to their new harsh environment, as the Shelled Slashers' hard carapace shells and heavily armoured bodies protect them from Drisdan III's punishing sandstorms. These same physical abilities, however, have made the creatures a threat to the Imperial population that dwells there. Among the reasons for this, is that the Shelled Slasher' shells resemble Drisdan III's Sandcrab creatures, which make them difficult to identify, especially when they are partially buried beneath sand. When they are found, though, their bodies are able to resist harm from most conventional weapons and the creatures become particularly difficult to kill, once the Shelled Slashers pull nearly 90% of their bodies beneath their shells. The Shelled Slasher is also a deadly combatant, as they explode from the ground and rush towards their prey in a flurry of razor-sharp talons and vicious head-butts

>Or Zoats. A centaur-like race aboard Hive Fleet Colossus. Bore many similarities to other Tyranid Hive Fleets, but had obviously encountered unique environs and thus evolved differently. Chief among these strange traits were their ability to use normal Tyranid weapon-symbiotes (although it seems that equipping themselves with these bio-armaments is quite painful), and the unique talent of communicating telepathically with other organisms. Although the Colossi claimed to be slaves escaping some unnamed oppressor, these aliens turned on Imperial forces. Thus began the xenocidal 50-year Zorastra-Attila wars that ended with the destruction of the entire Hive Fleet Colossus.

Necessary gameplay wise? Not entirely but primarchs/daemon primarchs are some of the most efficient centerpieces in the game. They have retarded killing power and are usually extremely bulky. Because the daemon primarchs are so big you can expect them to get focus fired by multiple squads a turn which usually benefits you as it makes your softer units a smaller target.
Lore wise? Pretty much all of the traitor legions ended up hating their primarch for being a retard that ruins everything. Thousand sons in particular is very decentralized so you can give your dudes whatever lore you want.

I'm the anon who told you the 1 Castigator per 1k points thing yesterday.
This list is completely serviceable, but also "top-heavy" for lack of a better term (ie if your Sacresants don't do their job, the whole thing topples over). You'll have success if you position well and get lucky on dice.

If you want to expand and revise later, the avenues I'd suggest are:
>another Immolator for your 2nd Dominions squad
>1 unit of Celestian Insidiants (or two, but 1 should be enough)
>at least 1 unit of Sisters Novitiate
>1 unit of 5 Zephyrim and a Jump Pack Canoness
>at least 1 each of some of the generic characters (prioritize a Jump Pack Canoness, Dialogus and Imagifier; Palatine can be really good as well in Hallowed Martyrs)
>1 unit of Repentia or Arco-Flagellants
And if you REALLY want to get into SoB to the point of dedicating 17.25% of your entire army cost to having miracle dice all be 6:
>Triumph of Saint Katherine and a Battle Sisters squad

It would also be a good idea to play around in the theorycrafting side with other detachments. Hallowed Martyrs is very good as a 3DP option, and Chorus of Condemnation makes a 2x Exorcist list viable (assuming you also have a bunch of jump pack units). The way I've seen Chorus used is either with Bringers of Flame or Army of Faith; I'd lean AoF between the two personally.
No I have not tried the 2x Exorcist list because I do not own 2 Exorcists nor enough Zephyrim to make that list worth it, but it seems to math out well enough.

>How?
We've never actually seen how they get a ship from the planet into space, generally they keep them in space and I guess they also reproduce them in space, but they have organisms that can reach the atmosphere by making use of wings and psychic levitation and low-density gases, and we have had planetbound crashed swarms recover their losses and build a new fleet from zero, so chances are they do have a space program for growing a ship on a planet and getting it to fly or growing it in space from the ground, somehow.
>>
>>98805372
I still don't get why they gave him those wings and made him fly on the ALWAYS UGLY sculpted smoke effect
yeah sure the epic model had wings but it was also the grim reaper, not a fat space marine with tattered wings
Imagine how much better he'd look with a stoic pose on the ground instead of jumping around (the death guard are noted for their spryness and mobility, after all)

>>
>>98805615
ships don't go from planet to space, as a rule
sometimes hive ships crash or deliberately land, but they're not suited for it, like a deep sea fish
the traditional story is the feeding ships simply stay in orbit and drop down feeding towers, or if you want to take a VERY slightly more realistic take the smokestack terrain things make the atmosphere polluted with biological matter that they eat up by skimming the atmosphere again and again until they've swallowed it all

Update on >>98780105. Hellblasters ready. Next to some plasma stuff I already had.

I also went ahead and threw together a list to use them. The detachment where you get sustained hits the turn you hop out of a transport is pretty funny for them, so I also went ahead and did it for a melta squad too. And Sternguard in an impulsor. Sustained 1 melta and plasma seems funny.

Also 12 of the new size marines piling out of an old rhino is a goofy clown car. Captain+10 assault intercessors are in the tiny rhino...

The other side of that is how fast you can kill your opponent to prevent him from doing the actions he needs.
You don't have to max out your score, you have to minimize your opponent's score by preventing him from being able to do actions in the first place. Custodes are still rather good at this task, even with so few models on the table.

Why would someone buy a Centaur? The Taurox is cheaper than both of these and is better as a light transport than the Centaur even. The Centaur has no purpose in current game unless GW reintroduces the "you can leave defeated vehicles on the field as cover" rule so you could take a bunch of them and then park them in sightlines to intentionally die and be a wall

You can open up wahapedia and see the faction ability for each one. They typically fall into 1 of 3 categories:
>each game round you get a selection of abilities to apply to units on the field (SM, TSons, Guard, world eaters)
>once per game you get an ability to drastically boost your army or rebuffed your opponents (Orks, Nids)
>each time you perform a specific action you accumulate points that you can spend on game actions (eldar, SoB, votann, DE)

Also, to follow up, each faction has this unique ability and IIRC all their subfactions also have it. So for Space Wolves you have the faction ability of putting them in different formations (used to be oath of moment in 10e) and you also get the SW's chapter ability of completing "sagas" for buffs. Some detachments also add bonus effects beyond just buffing units/adding stratagems, I think thousand sons has a detachment that gives them bonuses in the areas they control on the battlefield?
Some are more unique than others. Emperor's Children is probably the simplest one and lets all your units advance, shoot, and charge, as long as they're targeting different enemy units.

Others have said basing, but I’ll add, incorporating your base color scheme into your palette. It’s no longer just two main colors on the model, consider the base as the third color. From a far back conceptual stance, this makes everything pop more.
Another thing, though less small, is only edge highlight in one direction. In the ‘eavy metal style they edge highlight omnidirectionally, but you should pick where your sunlight is coming from and highlight your edges based on where that would directly hit.

Toth is the Egyptian god of knowledge, later turned into Hermes by the greeks

Nurgle is named after Nergal, he was the ancient Mesopotamian god of war, plague, destruction, and co-ruler of the underworld.

NTA but Alpharius and the Alpha Legion in general are clearly references to Revelation
>Revelation 1:8
>Revelation 21:6
>Revelation 22:13
All use the same "I am the alpha and the omega" line, which the name "Alpharius Omegon" is very obviously trying to reference.
Sanguinius is clearly a Christ allegory as well with the whole "intentionally sacrifices himself to save humanity, and is literally crucified" thing.

Those are the only overt Biblical references I'd cite though. Anything else is vaguely "this fits the religious aesthetic" for the most part.

Primarchs I can name:

Lion L Johnson
Angron

Fulgrim

Green Lantern characters I can name:

John Stewart
Guy Gardner
Sinestro

I'd say the two are about equally obscure. Before getting back into 40k I probably couldn't have named any other than Girlyman, if there wasn't a bunch of GL stuff recently I'd have only remembered Sinestro and Green lantern, maybe one of them's name.

>an in-depth biblical allegory
Show me where I said those words in regards to the Alpha Legion and Alpharius. I said they were a *reference* to the Bible, because they clearly are a reference to the literal text within it.
>If you have an Alpha X you're probably gonna end up with an Omega X
In a Greek letter enumeration system, yes, but that's not what we're talking about. You're arguing apples and oranges.
We're talking about a character named a derivative of "Alpha Omega" who leads the last of the legions that serve the settings' God allegory. The references to Revelation in particular are very on-the-nose.

Sanguinius is the only thing I specifically called allegorical, and he's not "in-depth" because Christ is the most well-known basic character arc to refer to due to how widespread Christianity is in regards to influencing literature written in a European language.
Having a character sacrifice himself to save a larger group and then be crucified as part of the sacrifice isn't "in-depth," it's surface-level.

Arnie isn't 2000 years old and so over-referenced that you can be pulling from a reference of a reference of a reference without ever knowing the source material. It's a bit like calling every use of the Dies Irae leitmotif a direct and intentional religious callback rather than acknowledging it's the generic foreboding/villainous leitmotif. Or thinking every time a villain plays a pipe organ the creator is directly referencing Bram Stoker's Dracula and knows the cultural/religious implications of a villain owning a personal pipe organ.

Granted, I'm not saying Alphon and Omegon AREN'T intended to be biblical references, I'm saying it's so fucking weak and paper-thin that it's just vaguely using the vibes conferred by the titles rather than an in-depth biblical allegory.

>that you can be pulling from a reference of a reference of a reference without ever knowing the source material
You didn't get my point.
Cultural artifacts and pieces of media leave a mark on the zeitgeist, and can be referred to both intended or otherwise; people are still making Star Wars references when they quote the Family Guy parodies. Making a reference to Zurg from Toy Story is still a Star Wars reference, because *your* reference material in that case is itself referential to another. Referring to a reference is still making a reference to the original, no matter how many steps are in the chain. The only issue in that comes in steps that are missing from record in that chain, but that's not within the scope of this conversation.

I'd argue that these references in particular were intended in the context of the Alpha Legion, because the people who created Alpharius Omegon and the setting at-large grew up in England (a nation with a long history interconnected to Christianity), went to school in England, and studied near-east religions (one of which being Christianity) in England, among other Britons, many of whom were Christian and would know the text. To NOT know about the text of "the alpha and the omega" with all this outside context would be an *extreme* fluke at best.
>rather than an in-depth biblical allegory
Again, I didn't say that. I said "Alpharius Omegon" was a reference. The only thing I said was allegory was Sanguinius.

And I'm saying if all it takes to call something "biblically rooted" is the loosest of references then it's a meaningless descriptor. As another anon pointed out Magnus has way more pagan references by way of being essentially Egyptian Odin.

Hell, the original post didn't even say biblically rooted, it said biblical imagery and that applies even less to HH since the fall of Sanguinous is the only HH image that has any sort of biblical weight to it.

>meaningless descriptor
No, it evokes something frequently referred to, but not referred to by *everything*. A "meaningless descriptor" is one that is used in all cases; not all references are to the Bible, so therefore "biblical reference" must still be a useful descriptor. Unless you think a reference to Lennie's killing in Of Mice and Men is a biblical one too.
>loosest of references
It's a direct paraphrase of 3 specific lines in Revelation.
Calling that a "loose" reference is like saying Vulkan is a loose reference to the Roman god of the forge. If you aren't aware, the Roman god of the forge is named Vulcan. I hope I don't have to explain the connection.
>>
>>98806952
I forget who they are but there's this really weird looking kaleidoscopic Tzeentchian warband (they don't use rubrics) that I always thought was cool.

People complain "it's weird that the tzeentch legion uses robot mummies that don't change" but I actually like it because it opens the door for CSM: TZEENTCH ALIGNED to be totally different, while all of the nurgle or khorne warbands always have berzerkers and plague marines naturally as a result of their god's blessings which is kind of lame (crimson slaughter).

>It's a direct paraphrase of 3 specific lines in Revelation.
It's a weaker reference than anything in Neon Genesis Evangelion, which explicitly just used biblical imagery as a skinsuit because the creator thought "it looked cool". Hell, it's almost an anti-reference since Alpha/Omega being separate people completely defeats the purpose of the "I am the Alpha and Omega" line you are referring to.
>Calling that a "loose" reference is like saying Vulkan is a loose reference to the Roman god of the forge.

>also alpha and omega has more to do with the first and last letter of the alphabet
Now why do you think they were specifically used in the Bible verse, anon? One of the particular Bible verses that was written originally in Greek?
Maybe to express that turn of phrase with the beginning and end to say God and Christ are two, but also one?
>>98806991
Has it been explicitly stated that Alpharius and Omegon are two different people?
Or on the other side, assuming they are two different people, it still evokes the beginning and end reference, which is the same one used in Revelation. They (God and Christ in the Bible, Alpharius and Omegon in 40k) don't have to literally be the same personification, but they are used to represent the beginning (God/Alpharius) and end (Christ/Omegon).

I've gone on enough of a theological tangent in the 40k thread today, I'll call it here.
>>
>>98806976
>it opens the door for CSM: TZEENTCH ALIGNED to be totally different
The problem with that is they don't get much model support. Sure you can get creative with kitbashes and CSM force structure and the like but I can see people who wanted fantasy/AoS tzeentch in space being miffed they don't get cool, weird mutants for their dedicated tzeentchmarines
>>
>>98807019
>Has it been explicitly stated that Alpharius and Omegon are two different people?
Yes
>it still evokes the beginning and end reference
Not really since they are neither the beginning nor end. They're just two bald manlets. They have more in common with Jesus' infinitie breadfish glitch than with being God and Christ.

An English person's first introduction to those two letters is far more likely to be the turn of phrase in Revelation than by learning the Greek alphabet.

Your argument is that they're more likely to have learned Greek than to have heard someone refer to the book that's been printed more than every other book? Knowing full well that these people grew up in a nation that was majority Christian at the time, and didn't use the Greek alphabet?
The venn diagram of "people who know the Greek alphabet" and "people who have heard one of a few passages out of Revelation" have a very large overlap.
