Next verse, same as the first
>Experiment 1: Talent Discount
Making a builds where your talent rating in one aura type provides a discount. This is to make basic techniques cheap, master techniques slightly less ecpensive, and leave legend techniques largely the same.
Compare your "G" rating to the rating required for a technique, if you G rating is higher it subtracts it's value from the point cost.
Example:
Seismic Strike costs 6 points to buy.
Your build has G3 in Core.
Seismic Strike only requires G1.
Seismic Strike now only costs 3 points for you.
>Experiment 2: Aura Burst Mode
Kufoku mentions you'll be able to Double your points after completing an Aura Burst campaign, so why not make builds for that?
Make a standard build for your freshly summoned conscript, then making Another build for your conscript after completing all their campaign missions.

The second build gets build and equipment points equal to their starting "Potential"(45 for talented, 35 for mutated, etc). They get no bonus alterations.

Given how the "Prodigy" alteration works,, double these bonus points points for your second build, but equipment points are not doubled
>Experiment #3
The Aura costs of techniques is reduced by taking Training. Each training reduces a specific category of techniqued by 1 star at initiate, 2 stars at master, and 3 stars at legend.

The category of Techniques a Training effects are specific.
Skill Training can reduce aura cost for a techniques below 1, but doesn't make a technique free. Techniques with on aura cost below 1 have a cost from 0.75 to 0.25 of one star
>>
>>98834082
Example list of aura discounts(not exhaustive)
>Martial Arts training affects Martial Arts, but not Weapon Arts or Improvization Arts
>Weaponry training affects Weapon Arts, but not Martial Arts or Improvization Arts
>Cultivation Affects Conduction Modes and States
>Technique Artistry affects Spent aura on any technique, but not Devoted aura
>Acrobatics affects Phase Release Techniques on physical stats, but not Martial, Weapon, or Improvisation Arts
>Athletics affects Core Release Techniques that boost physical stats, but not Martial, Weapon, or Improvisation Arts
>Ceremony Boosts blessings and curses or summoning techniques used on spirits, but not creation or summoning of chimera, angels, demons, abyssal lords, etc.
>Scholarship can boost a variety of techniques, but only if they're relevant to the study. Medicine would affect chimera creation/summoning, healing/poison, or conduction modes for plants/fungi/flesh/blood.
>Deceit affects phase illusions, body sigils, and altering techniques
>Tinkering affects creation of physical objects with alchemy, conduction modes, or series technique

>I haven't seen any discussions on Outer Reincarnation or Entropist in a while.
Anon, that's because they both released updates and WoG that killed their own popularity and momentum.
>Entropistanon added a bunch of extra content that didn't fit the theming very well and overcomplicated parts of the cyoa. This caused some anons to get bored and stop playing, which caused a snowball effect of less people discussed it>less discussion made existing discussion boring>more anons moved on
>Tankista decided to start shooting down lore theories in the middle of OR's first major update, and his actual lore answers were just boring in comperison to what anons were coming up with themselves. He realized partway through he was killing OR discussion, but by then it was too late.

I am playing this as if taking too much power is a trap option as many of the Demon Impacts could really screw you over and I don’t want to be reliant on say the Demon Spirit Binding to enable me to use me to use my eyes effectively with weakened, power limiter, or even Appeasement when I need to use them quickly, and becoming an embodiment of a sin is no good either.

I am risking Split Personality and it will be what I use the wrap on most of the time (but I assume it won’t overheat since it doesn’t activate often). I get power copying with it and given time I can reach a much stronger position without having gimped myself. It also synergizes amazingly with a full team as I could do things like trade “xp” with the Gamer Girl or copy the powers of the Princess’s Summons (to all of our benefit).

That’s not the core gimmick though. The core gimmick is the Demon Vault Eye which is infinite item storage and item duping. I would usually go melee (especially in a setting like this), but this has insane potential for a gun build (although if I can steal some auras I might do both). I can pull out a minigun at a moments notice and since I can duplicate common normal items, I have Infinite Ammo. The other eyes and my auras contribute to going ranged as well, and with the Yakuza Son, Machinist, and Android I can get top notch gear. Of course I also have crazy versatility as I always have every supply you can think of and I could even do crazier stuff like steal a tank (or mecha I help machinist build) and drop it in the middle of a battle (it would definitely be the German guy that does this lol).

I think of this thread as a carousel of CYOAs. It should always display a variety of different ones, so that when the uninitiated stumble across it there's more for them to see and possibly latch onto. When I first found these threads, that was the case, and it's less and less so over the last decade. The discussion is of equal importance, but the typical volume of CYOA posting does not limit discussion, even accounting for one or two people dumping them. These all exist on the archive or could be linked to, but that eliminates a huge portion of their potential audience; most people won't go to that length for something they don't know or hear a lot about. I don't discriminate all that much in the ones I do post because somebody may really dig something I felt lukewarm toward

I think I know the answer to this, but what would anons think about a contest theme poll based on materials? For example, concrete v clay v wood v brass v obsidian v steel, whatever. It could serve as a loose, associative guideline for the CYOAs as opposed to the last contest's more explicit theme. The only good thing about meta cyoas is that you don't need them. You are free. Just break the rules if you want to break the rules, don't lie to yourself that their use is something else.
>>

It's fun to enter CYOA settings with "wrong" powersets (Otherwise) or new antagonists (Mind Overwrite) and imagine how it changes the story.

To me they're their own special form of commentary. There's plenty of room for what you're saying (which is the ultimate truth, to be clear) and meta CYOAs. They're just another layer of what normal CYOAs are: structured inspiration for your daydreaming. Following your logic the whole medium is pointless

>Who is the easiest to hate male antagonist in a CYOA?.
Witch Awakening has two faction leaders that are easy to blame for the grimderp nonsense that pervades the entire universe. Icarus is the entity who founded the Watchers, the coalition of witches who have infiltrated all Abrahamic religions since the fourth century and can therefore be blamed for any moral grievance (You) have against any of them, while also secretly running entire clans of Human livestock to use as satanic blood sacrifice. The only moral oversight that he gives is handing the ten commandments to Outsider witches who defected back to his side, after forgiving any unspeakable travesties the new asset once committed. King Culicarius is the Diviner who left for the Moon in the seventh century to build a "post-scarcity utopia" on the compulsory slavery of all its inhabitants, while he continued using his divination abilities to study and plot the entire future of the Human race, which would have included the entire rise of an overtly satanic corporate hegemony from muggle stock and other foreseeable threats to humanity and the entire universe.

randomly started looking into these again after awile and was just remembering some cyoa...i remember relitively little but what is there is kinda stuck in my brain so figured id ask around, you get to chose to fight one or mutliple supernatural forces ghost or a cult or such but...one of the companions you can chose is some girl thats living through a loop of the events until you all win and if things get into a tight enough spot she'l kill herself to start another run early though for, though from your pov she'l just be a cooling body and one person shorter then you where...but ye no worrys if its not familier i dont know if it even still exists anymore

ISS is stronger at raw tanking while doing absolutely nothing and some meme kalpa builds. It's actually way weaker in most actual circumstances where you need to do things.

Do ISS users really consider maintaining the stance an entire Kalpa to outlast whoever they fight, winning?

Being immutable to all forces would just sling you off the planet.
>>
>>98835129
Youdu isn't on a planet. Also that's not how relativity works.
>>
>>98835123
They don't have to wait an entire Kalpa though. ISS makes you immune to time and space fuckery too. If you use it to get out of a Spokeless Wheel you will just revert to normal time from your perspective.
>>
I will personally open up an Infinite Inertia mercenary service to kill ISS users who stall too long.
>>
>>98835136
If you were already in the SCW, you'd just tie yourself to your current timeflow when you take the stance, and stay inside. You'd need to have ISS on before SCW hits you to ignore it the alternate time condition, but then you get no extra time.
>>
>>98835121
Technique Artisty+ISS+Master Status Distortion, would be really funny though.
>>
>>98835145
Overcomplicating it. It makes you immune to time distortion, it doesn't matter if you are already inside the wheel before you activate it, you would simply experience true time (a milisecond) when you entered it.
>>
>>98835141
That can work, but only if you can catch them when they shift stances. You are helpless before true stallgods.
>>
>>98835153
There's no such thing as true time under current physics, so by doing this you're importing a metaphysical true time that has no precedent in the CYOA.
>>
>>98835154
The wording of "-as if the user had done so." makes me think Infinite Inertia could turn off even mid stance ISS since the user is able to cancel it at anytime during it.
>>
>>98835162
>>98835154
I've thought about this before and it's genuinely ambiguous. Specifically because the ISS user needs to move as part of interrupting the technique, and inertia can't force them to move.

The intent is likely on the side of inertia despite this.
>>
>>98835155
There is actually such a thing as true time, it's just that the rate of incidence for events can be altered and said rate is inherent in all measurements, so true time would be unmeasurable
>>
>>98835155
Fine not aura fucked up time if you want to be pedantic. If a guy with ISS finds an actual black hole or something that creates an actual organic time difference you would be right, you are an autistic sperg for not understanding that obviously I meant phase time distortion and that "true time" was shorthand for not changed by a release technique.
>>
>>98835162
I think otherwise, but wouldn't be surprised if your interpretation turns out to be correct.

Phantom 9, by Lone Observer?
>>
>>98835168
The only true time that exists is the one you measure for yourself. Thus you couldn't automatically reach some true time besides your own currently experienced one.

>>98835171
This changes nothing from my point of view.
>>
>>98835162
It's quite literally an immovable object vs an unstoppable force dilemma and the names obviously reflect that PCA knew we would ask this.
>>
>>98835177
No, time is a spatial quantity, in that the meaning of time is that things must be similar in both space and time to trigger an interaction
Like any other spatial quantity we could impose an arbitrary reference frame in which all things have a single sensible time component, and a single sensible space component, although the "Density" of time and space would not be constant
But there would still be a single co-ordinate time that would allow you to predict which two things could interact with eachother
>>
>>98835177
If you want to Sarte it go right ahead but immunity to "even the abstract effects of time and space" is obviously about Phase techniques you moronic matterfag.
>>
>>98835185
You wouldn't be able to tell if the one speeding ahead or the one staying behind is the actual true time.

>>98835188

>>
>>98835195
>occam's razor
Your explanation is more complicated wronganon
>>
>>98835197
It's not more complicated unless you didn't understand relativity before you entered the conversation. Since this is all about a technique under an affinity dealing with spacetime, that's especially silly of you.

>>98835200
Bait
>>
>>98835200

>>
>>98835195
>You wouldn't be able to tell
Anon I literally started the discussion by saying it wasn't a measurable quantity
The point is that the warping we see affects matter as we perceive it, but philosophical time is separate from that

He is baiting, or at least trying to re-open an old discussion. The while "three pages or under" idea comes up a couple of times a year, either here or in the /trash.
>>
>>98835208
>Using an ability does something therefore occam's razor means it does nothing
Lol, btw I have proof I am right about true time. From SCW: "Once completed, the area contained within this radius is entrapped in DILATED TIME for one Kalpa, or 4,320,000,000,000 years, over the span of the millisecond when the attack is completed." I should have said non-dilated time but obviously it exists.
>>
>>98835227
Under relativity, dilation is relative. Your own time is always the non-dilated one. If you're outside the SCW, the inside is dilated to move super slow from your perspective. If you're inside the SCW, the ourside is dilated to move super fast from your perspective.

My search for Spooktacular Sprites went a little off-kilter, redulting in Google'd SI profucing a new cyoa

>You just moved into a cheap apartment, only to find it's already occupied by a supernatural entity. Choose one spooky sprite to be your new roommate. Each brings a unique vibe, perks, and annoying habits.

1. Wick (The Candle Imp)

A tiny, flickering flame spirit who manifests in any wax candle you light.

• The Vibe: Cozy, warm, and perpetually sleepy.

Perks:
• Keeps your apartment perfectly heated without raising your utility bill.
• Emits a calming lavender scent that gives you the best sleep of your life.

Flaws:
• Set off the smoke detectors if he gets startled.
• Constantly judges your taste in reality TV.
• Will eat your expensive scented candles when you aren't looking.

2. Skitter (The Dust Bunny King)

A shifting, chaotic mass of lint, lost buttons, and static electricity that lives under the couch.

• The Vibe: High-energy, hoarding goblin, weirdly loyal.
• Perks:
• Finds every piece of loose change, missing sock, or dropped keys within seconds.
• Can manipulate static electricity to instantly charge your phone.

• Flaws:
• Sheds dust violently when he is excited, triggering massive allergy attacks.
• Invites his "friends" (literal spiders) over for weekend poker games.

3. Static (The Glitch Wraith)

A humanoid entity made of monochrome TV fuzz that speaks entirely in chopped-up radio samples.
• The Vibe: Edgy, retro, late-night lo-fi enthusiast.
• Perks:
• Grants you free, blazing-fast, untraceable Wi-Fi.
• Can project any movie or video game directly onto your blank living room wall in 4K.

• Flaws:
• Causes your digital clocks to randomly reset to 12:00 or 6:66.
• If he gets mad, he blasts loud dial-up internet noises at 3:00 AM.
>>
>>98835230
If relativistic time manipulation isn't an example of and "even the abstract effects of time and space" to which the ISS makes you immune then what is? ISS gives multiple immunities and they are spelled out. I know you lack reading comprehension and only saw mental deterioration but it includes protection from the technique itself and given that it is the only one like it that blurb was just for it.
>>
>>98835009
Chad Thundercock...!
>>
>>98835253
4. Echo (The Pipes Phantom)

A watery, translucent sprite that glides through your plumbing and manifests in sinks or puddles.
• The Vibe: Dramatic, gossipy, and highly protective.

• Flaws:
• Prone to crying bouts that cause minor leaks under the bathroom vanity.
• Randomly pops her face out of the toilet bowl to say good morning.
• Perks:
• You will never run out of hot water, and your water pressure is god-tier.
• Overhears the neighbors through the pipes and tells you all the best apartment drama.

What isn't an example: You are in the SCW after it was already used, and then use ISS.
What is an example: You are in ISS and someone uses SCW on you.
