I left AoS when CoS came out and nuked my Warriors-and-Quarrellers only Dispossesseed army I was mid-building. (I had a whole theme and story for My Guys about it) (also I never played WHFB, for the record)I come back bc New Dorfs, and I just want to say in the most autistic way possible...I hate how GW has no concept/respect for their own invented language. I know it's the minor-est of dumb things to spaz about. But it would have been so simple to like...consult their own wordlists and construct things in a way that made sense. Not just lumping random phonemes together.Like, Dron is thunder, but Thunderers are called Thunderers bc the word for handgun is Thrund. Kromdron just...means nothing, really. Same with Thrundrin, and Thrundok is a bastardization of Thrundi/Thrundaz.Anyway. The expectations you have about the fictional language are based in a language from countless thousands of years past and 2 apocalpsi(apocalypses?) ago. Culture and languages evolve and change over time. -dron has become the suffix referring to Duardin of a certain kind. Duardin is now the in-universe word for them and as of the early AoS Gotrek books, they do not know the term Dawi or Dwarf. I'm with you on GW not respecting their fantasy languages anymore but the truth is the corporate streamlining of the creative process has heavily neutered the depth the creatives are allowed to add to the setting. Hell, many factions don't even have more than like 5 race-specific language terms. One of my biggest gripes is the lack of simple subfaction icons for so many factions, namely my LRL and Deepkin.

Lumineth REALLY should have some more faction iconography though what the fuck.
