Are you team sand or team basing paste?
>>98853220>TQDon't hate it but I would have preferred full army books instead of the FoF/RH + faction-specific AJ with the AJ's coming after all the factions got their stuff

so the latest release is skeletons done worse than other manufacturers at x5 times the price? does james know places like wargames Atlantic exist?
>>98853321doesnt matter, they already sold out here.
>>98853321I don't think people share your idea that they're done worse than other manufacturers
>>98853269i regret doing complicated bases on my armies, waste of time. sand and a tiny bit of flock is the good pick
>>98853321You do get more skeletons in the GW box
>>98853220>How do you consider the Arcane Journal formatThere was a novelty to it at first but it’s kinda shown it’s a shitty format to deliver on. Also the magic changes were kinda awful to keep track of, do people actually play with it?
>>98853220>>>Thread question:>How do you consider the Arcane Journal format now that it's been around for a couple years?terrible on all front except for gw's flexibility in releasing shit without having to rely on making new editions of the respective army's main book, or white dwarf articles or online pdfs which are always a hassle to keep track of.But all in all is absolutely shitty because the low number of pages means there's very little content, it's often written so bad it reads like a bot asked to fill in space by rephrasing the same text over and over, and there are already too many to keep track of for some armies. If they want to keep going with the journal format they have to introduce either a yearly compendium for the previous ones, or make new editions of a certain army's book whenever there are more than 3 journals for it.
>>98853213if they are pre-selling the preorder date then they have breached their stockist contract with GW, there was a store in London that had all GW stock withdrawn for doing it.
Is there a Wrecker's Point pdf floating around?
>>98853387not yet no
>>98853220>TQHonestly a fan. So far its meant more updates more often, and most all of it felt optional, in a good way.
I'm gonna do it

>>98853326>Sold out>Not available to order yetThanks, bot. Now write me a limerick about Malekith being a mommy's boy.
>>98853220>TQToo much paper and documents; a bit like 40k's Codices bloat.I hope 2nd edition brings back the proper Armybooks.
>>98853527Apparently they’re very successful, I wouldn’t expect it due to army books being unable to be printed locally due to their higher page count.
>>98853387Is there even anything worth it in the Wrecker's Point book or is it just the Sylvania one all over again?
>>98853634Unless you're a GM or just really into the lore, not really, it has way more Stat Blocks than the Sylvania one, and there is an adventure in the back.It probably should have had some player stuff in it, but I'm really not sure what they could have added to this one. Unlike the Sylvania example, where there is a ton of player stuff to add related to Vampires and the Eastern Empire that could have been used, all the player stuff related to Nordland is already published in other books
>>98853220This guys art is really awesome except for the weird baby skaven he shoves in literally every piece, which ruins it for me.
>>98853225To my knowledge thats the page limit they can do while not having to resort to the chinaman to print it for them.
>>98853660How do you man walls like these? The perimeter looks pretty large compared to the population.
>>98853374>LGS knows they are getting allocated 5 boxes>make a list of 5 people who want boxesThis is what he means almost surely.
>>98853763this.its common practice so take orders/reservations for LGS on the monday after GW announces them. as long as money and product are not exchanged before the official release date, there is no problem.

>>98853832Not really, at this time Kemmler is still out of the picture. They are building up on old lore which stated that Nehekara used to reach all the way to Sylvania and Athel Loren, with many burial sites remaining undisturbed after Nagash's spell. The issue here is that, GW is always inconsistent with its lore, and there's way too many civilisations buried around the old world, some with overlapping concepts:>The ancient burial sites of greater Nehekara, most of which escaped Nagash's spell. The few that came back to life and we're pissed about it. In at least one source they're called the Barrow Kings.>The burial sites of the barbarian tribes that lived when Sigmar was around. They buried their dead in full battle gear and have more of a late Bronze age vibe. These are the Armies of the Cairns that the Lichemaster went around molesting back in 6th edition.>The burial sites of the primitive tribes that first inhabited the old world. Stone age people, mostly located around Sylvania and pretty much fully dug out already as cheap fodder for the vampire counts. So yeah, Kemmler's exploits are entirely separate from Settra's expedition and I don't think GW will really want to go for something more VC yet. I'd love to have the Cairn legion army list back, but it's more likely that we'll see a much less interesting tomb kings list with a gimmick or two.
>>98854227Leave the manlet alone. Elves and women trigger him individually. Elf women? Forget about it.

>>98854254That too, it's probably both, as the weekend was definitely quiet.
>>98854203>in your head The art is right there dude. They've been doing this for years at this point. >>98854386That's an interesting point. Might be the people who would be just looking for pictures to be mad about aren't going to look that deep and aren't likely buying supplements or reading them when there's enough ragebait to be had with just the warhammer community feed.

How long does it typically take to complete a game? How often during a timed setting do you fail to complete a game, and if so, what turn do you get to?
Does anyone have the revised Rulebook pdf?I want to look at the changes done at the Kislev section.
>>98854569That's cool. The guy did good work.
>>98854614Depends on the point value being played.Battle March (500-750) can be an hour or less if you know what you’re doing. 1000 point games can be an ~hour and a half to two hours, with it getting longer the higher you go.I’m not sure about this timed setting thing, no store has ever hassled me to hurry up.
So it's near impossible/ unplayable to have a monogod daemon army? I never liked how mixed daemon armies look like
>>98853527There is never going to be a second edition. They’re just going to revise it forever because that’s more sovlful and what the people who this game is made for want.
>>98854880>They’re just going to revise it forever because that’s more sovlful and what the people who this game is made for want.Delusional. TOW will conform with the 3-year cycle like the other settings. It won't even be like HH, whose 1st edition lasted 11 years, and since 2ed. has adopted the 3-year cycle. TOW 1ed. is already running its last semester, and next year they'll certainly release 2nd..
>>98854699It's possible, it'll also be shit and mind-numbingly boring. Of all the legacy factions, Daemons seem to be the most afterthought list. They made sure the main units had stats and that was it.I do like multigod armies, though, particularly if they're colourful. Brings me back to the good ol' days.>>98854880Wargames as a live service is something that I didn't expect but also didn't surprise me either. The good thing is that old editions are already set in stone and can be played at any time, the bad thing is that most wargamers are neophiliacs that simply won't touch older stuff.
>>98854699Battle march could be the place to run something like that. Yeah, as daemons you get like 4 different units per god, but BM is so small that it would let you take one of each and not notice how limited the army is.It'll still be a shitty army, though.
>>98854615Is it in the Gofile?
>>98854928Uh yeah, TOW 2nd is launching in 2-3 months and they just reprinted the entire Rulebook with errata 2 months ago to last for 5-6 months. Dumbass.
>>98854963I think there is a Rulebook in the gofile, but it's the original release.
>>98853882Bought maxmini's orc army and some of their TT combat paints. Will see how that turns out. It's 91 minis (bunch of orc infantry, 5 boar boyz, 3 trolls and hqs)
>>98854970>TOW 2nd is launching in 2-3 monthsYou clearly misread what I'd posted. I said, 6 months from now (at the earliest) they will release a 2nd edition.> just reprinted the entire Rulebook with errata 2 months ago to last for 5-6 months.Doesn't mean shit. Those errata were released from free on their website as well, and - it seems to me - they happened to make a quick buck in reprinting the Rulebook with the freely-published errata into it. TOW was official released on the last week of January 2024, and the latest errata was revealed in the last week of July of this year. There is nothing and no one stopping GW from releasing 2nd edition next year; even if it's been less than a year since the revised 1ed. Rulebook's release.
>>98854645I mean in like a tournament
>>98855069There is nothing and no one stopping GW from releasing 2nd edition in 4 years. See how pointless your reasoning is? You don’t give any actual reasons as to why it’s concretely going to happen, you only state that we’re on a 3 year cycle and imply that it’s self evident. Yet there’s evidence that goes against any refresh next year, namely the reprinted book. Reprinting a rulebook for 8 months with the FAQ isn’t making a quick buck it would be a waste of resources. Them reprinting means almost certainly that 2nd is still years away.
>>988550962000 point games usually take 3-4 hours. I’ve never seen tournaments time people but then again I only play TOW and MESBG and only locally so there’s never a need to keep time to prevent slow play. If someone is being an abusive cunt intentionally slow playing or being an unsportsmanlike cunt we simply don’t invite them to the next event. That’s a plus of being more tighter nit and smaller than the 40k community
>>98854645Points are almost irrelevant, it depends on the number of units played, the type of army and of course how well the players know the game.
>>98855222It’s really only down to how well both players know the game. Two veterans with massive armies can finish faster than one or two noobs in a game where everything has to be explained or talked through.
>>98855230Sure but two veterans with 1k armies that have 8 units with shit to do in every single phase are going to take 3 times longer to finish a game than they would with 2k armies that have 4 units with 2 spells and no shooting.I have a 2k army of brets with mounted knights only and my games are quicker than my1k games with TK that has every type of unit and does shit every single phase and has multiple bubbles I have to keep checking for all the time.
>>98855179>>98855096>2000 point games usually take 3-4 hours. No way jose; TOW tournaments tend to be 2-2:30 hour long matches.
>>98855100NTA but GW releases every other mainline game edition (don't fuck about with SGS shit it's on the main banner of the website its mainline) within max 12 quarters. No idea why you'd assume GW would act differently just because its your special snowflake system you don't want changed.
>>98853335That one's like $90.
>>98855257>games workshop releases every mainline game every 3 years >ignore that TOW isn’t a mainline game lol ok
>>98855422nta but it did happen to HH. I'm not saying it going to happen to TOW; I think the revised rulebook means the current edition will stick around for a while, but it being a mainline studio game is not a shield from the edition change every three years.
>Want to start a tomb kings army>Like the new skeleton warriors>People say that skeleton warriors are just objectively shit and in general TK infantry is trash and I will not enjoy myself if I spam them
>>98855681well they do look like shit. I prefer them being more chunky
>>98855681If you like em then who gives a shit what other anons say about em?
>>98855681not sure who you are listening to but skeletons are the most meta unit in the TK. Blocks of archers for mortuary cult or the cohorts for royal host are in every tournament winning list for TK. They are unkillable tarpits you can dump priests in and the archer blocks with the amulet of the serpent for poisoned shots are still one of the best range units in the game.
>>98853660Wrecker's Point was obviously something they had in mind since at least Salzenmund & Sea of Claws, but plausibly had a rough concept of since TEW. That it released now and Sylvania came around first is a bit odd, but whatever.
>>98855854They first announced it as a PDF, so it was probably going to be much smaller initially
>>98855681Nigga look up tournament lists. Infantry horde blocks are the literal TK/Undead meta. In royal host you use like a 100 man strong mix of skeleton warriors and archers as your main unit.
>>98855681iirc it's tomb guard who are on the weaker side, normal skellies are super cheap per model and you can revive them
>>98856058Yeah, Invocation is extremely strong in this edition. Big blocks of static res that can be brought back are very good (and very frustrating to play against).
>>98854928>>98854970>>98855069Here's the secret: Revised/1.5 is 2nd edition. They're just calling it "Revised" to keep grogs who want long editions happier. It literally launched in a new starter set with Cathgay and Chaos.
>>98855681TK can win with shittons of skeletons. But it's not very fun to take a block of 40 skeletons. Also, while the new TK stuff is advanced on a technical level, they are now far more complicated to paint than the previous skeletons, who you could drybrush and wash 100 of in a day or two. Now they each have shittons of fabrics and details. So I kind of agree, you probably won't enjoy things unless you're specifically a huge WAACfag who enjoys the dopamine rush of winning no matter how excruciating the actual gameplay is.

Cathay are such a fucking disappointment. I'd always been curious about the little tidbits of lesser-covered areas in the fluff, ancient China, the Mongols, Mughals, etc have always been fascinating to me, and when they started expanding on them, the idea seemed neat at first. I even liked the aesthetic for the most part. Dragon children and their part human spawn, seemed like fertile ground to do warring states stuff, oppressive regimes like vampire counts with a value on the 'greater good' of fighting chaos, maybe the emperor would be pitting his children against each other violently to temper them to make them better against the arch enemy... And instead it's just, conflict-free, utopian, shite, where they were actually involved in everything the whole time, they invented gunpowder, they're more civilised and older even than the elves and have never faced any major civilisational fractures ever! I have no idea what GW was thinking. I'm a huge China mark but the execution is such an utter failure I can't be bothered with them
>>98856946Yes, BL was a mistake and the lore should have been confined to the codex, 40k especially suffered from thisthe solution is simple; everything after 1999 goes in the trash

>>98857287It does. Highwaymen. I think Vampires and Empire captains could get a horse. Don't really remember. Maybe it was a mounted supplement? Idk look it up.
>>98857190can you name those TOW sources? couldnt find any.my point is that TOW exclusive lore is rather paper thin at the moment, so just because there is no infighting mentioned in the arcane journals, doesnt mean there isnt any. but even so, the dragon siblings trying to kill each other would be retarded horus heresy shit.
>>98857376fuck off back to /aosg/, shill
>>98857376>actchually you should only count tow sources>actchchually, just because the journals went out of their way to say there's no infighting it doesn't mean there's no infighting>and acktchually, infighting would be cringe anyway You do know this is supposed to be the period of civil unrest and infighting that leads to the monkey king taking over, right?
>>98857445Not him but is the Monkey King meant to be so strong he can actually contend with the dragon children? I know he has that big magic stick but...
>>98857460Presumably, yes, he's also immortal and has been said to outsmart them at times, especially during these times of supposed disharmony. The latest journals added more to the story, but of course it's still fucking nothing, we have got to wait for total war to bring him in.>he's immortal>he wanted recognition from the dragon emperor>got gifted a circlet by the dragon, but it was actually a control device>he still gets to wrest out of the circlet's hold from time to time, especially when the emperor is away>the fire dragon of the south is meant to contain him but he's ordered not to retaliate against him by the emperor other than it all being a reference to sun wukong we have absolutely no info on how this character came to be in the warhammer worldis it another deity from ind?a bastard relative of the dragons or moon empress?a chaos mutant?the top figure of a race of apes made by the old ones and just built different?just a man living amongst monkeys?

>>98857916>the upcoming black library book seems to get into some infighting among the human cathayans.lollmaonothey're not ALLOWED to show cathay as an actual society with depth, they had plenty of opportunities across multiple journals and not only they missed each and every one of them but instead they doubled down on the tone-deaf wank of a seemingly utopian nation, in warhammer of all places.they could get 60+ years of publications and still they will be stuck as this same level because it's not a lack of focus but a completely different direction altogether, one that's fundamentally antithetical to the spirit of warhammer, most likely for the sake of courting a chinese market.
>>98857287The core rulebook doesn't have cavalry, it was added later in the Empire in Flames supplement. Iirc, most warbands can take a mount (and wagons!), but not all of them horses, orcs for example are restricted to boars. It sounds great and gives you the chance to model your characters mounted and on foot, but it's Mordheim, so the implementation is somewhat clunky and requires more open table setups, which kinda beat then purpose of the game.

Correct me is I'm wrong, but it seems to me, when it came to Kislev's users of Ice magic, that the "Women Only" thing was a retcon from WRP2's book Realm of the Ice Queen. Up until (and including) the 6th edition Kislev book, it still mentions Ice Mages & Wizards.
>>98858463The retcon happened before the WFRP book, apparently Andy Law said he wanted to include a reference to that male ice mage, but GW wouldn't let him so it's something GW did before they made the WFRP splat, maybe in the Ambassador Chronicles books
Savage Orcs are not coming back, are they? I regret not buying them when they were still sold for AoS so much, their price on the secondary market is ridiculously high.
>>98858459Incredible looking army, that.
>>98858470Hmm, I see. >>98859086Rob got some shit from the wider community like two years ago. He was mean to the youtuber Miscast Trent (acceptable) and manufacturer Ramshackle Games Curtis (unacceptable)He was and is a landlord who rented space to a few different independent miniatures makers in Nottingham. Eventually, he wanted the space back to use as a podcast studio, but the lease wasn't running out soon. So he chose to "be really mean" to the tenant, Curtis, until Curtis voluntarily broke the lease and left early. Curtis is a well liked personality so this registered as Very Mean when the story broke. At a later date, him and Trent, the youtuber, had a falling out. Absurdly, the image-concious Rob supposedly physically threatened Trent to the tune of "you have to act like we're buddy buddy in public because us not getting along is making me look bad and upsetting my girlfriend" His girlfriend, of course, being Louise from Rogue Hobbies (a third reason people hated on him. "It should have been ME dating Louise", they cry) So when Curtis and Trent came out with the story it was a little firestorm. The evil landlord who bullies independent manufacturers and threatens to beat you up if you dont play friendly in front of his autistic 4chan girlfriend. This story is pathetic drama that would already be very silly if it were teenagers, but the dramatis personae were all over thirty. I'm gay for knowing any of this, and now you're gay too. But you asked.
>>98856946>>98858987The Blood of the Bastion AJ went out of it's way to dispel/retcon the "Cathay is perfect with no problems" lore.It goes into various issues within Cathay, the Dragon Children and the main conflict of the book is Miao Ying going full "Decisive Tang Victory" by purposely letting thousands of soldiers and peasants die to trick a bunch of Chaos Warriors to march into a kill box.
>>98859086Yeah >>98859200 described it better than I could have.Val is a little cringy but in a fine way imo, I don’t mind a little cringe. Despite still being a comptard, he at least seems to genuinely like the game and the community so thats enough for me.
>>98859200Thank you for the summary. What a cunt honestly. Though what made it ok to be mean to Miscast Trent? Landlords of his nature are naturally despised. As for his girlfriend, what is she sexy?Overall though of all Youtube dramas, this definitely feels more "normal" than some of the shit you sometimes see on the usual nonsensical drama.>you are gay now tooLife would be easier if I were, I assure you. Sadly after many visits to BK, I can say no.
>>98859228>Decisive Tang VictoryI looked this up and I am uncertain of anything in that battle could be considered a decisive victory.
>>98859260That's partially the joke.
>>98859248>Though what made it ok to be mean to Miscast Trent?Nothing, sorry. Just a tasteless joke, I was just playing the "mean 4channer". Trent is a nice enough dude who's done nothing wrong, but Curtis is a REALLY well loved manufacturer/event organizer so people came out in support of him more strongly. Like kicking a dog vs kicking a puppy, they're both obviously wrong but one really incenses people. Louise is indeed hot, but more importantly she used to browse 4chan where she posted her orcs and tzeentch demons on /wip/ while larping as a dude. When she revealed herself as a woman, people went "holy shit there was a hot girl posting here the whole time and we didn't even know" which leads to her being one of the more waifued Warhammer girltubers on this board. >>98859260>Fellas, we're going to have to start eating people >But as a show of good faith, I'm going to kill my favorite concubine in front of everyone and we'll eat her first That's true leadership. Whats the best way to deal with magic missle spam?
Like 5+ Summoning, endless small shooting units, multi fly/harrass/warmachine
>>98861260Magic resistance, bringing a level 4 to dispel, and murdering enemy wizards as fast as possible. It also depends on what you mean by magic missile spam. If it's one wizard with a lot of magic items that give him guaranteed magic missiles, he probably won't be that much of a threat if you play around him, especially with the new miscast table. If it's a couple wizards with a few magic missiles and a unit champion or two with bound spells, then it might get a bit bothersome. Just remember that they can't cast magic missiles if they marched on that same turn.

>>98861549Enjoy! It's a great fucking kit. A lot of options surprisingly too.Though the horse's pelvis bone placement might make you want to kill your self
>>98861549I'm happy for you anon, i really am it's always great to see people get excited and do hobby stuf. But man what GW charges for 2 fucking miniatures is so absurdly high that it borders on grotesque. I really can't force myself to spend that much on so little.
Could they come back? Should they come back?
>>98861633Eh back in my day you’d have to buy a blister for a character on a horse, and a blister for them on foot (usually there were exceptions ofc). And after you factor inflation into the mix they really aren’t that much more expensive today than they were back then. Although they were metal, and I prefer metal for the hand feel when playing
>>98861642they should definitively come back, unique regiments being essentially collective special characters was one of the best ideas that GW ever had, but they should make all new regiments of renown instead of simply remaking say the birdmen of catrazza or the leopold's leopard or at least they should do updated versions of these regiments with darker, more serious lore and get rid of the light-hearted, whimsical humor of the 5th edition book
>>98861650Back in your day was also back in my day. And even then they were overpriced and out of reach. If it weren't for the older kids dumping their collection as soon as they hit 15 to get some drinking money, i don't think i could have ever stuck with this hobby. They're cool model, not goint to lie. And if had any interest in undead I'd love to have them. But I'd probably need to find them for 40% or less of what GW charges.
>>98861756I got it for 20% off MSRP, which is the standard here. And I was happy enough. The $200 and change ill spend this saturday is going to sting more lol
>>98861549I'm glad you're hobbying and getting back into WFB but every time I see new TOW sculpts I feel bad that they're basically putting AoS models into WFB.
>>98861892>I feel bad that they're basically putting AoS models into WFBMight want to get that prescription updated lad, the Tomb King skeletons and horses are basically 1:1 updates. The rest of the new TK kits fit very well with the rest.
>>98861893Nah. The new stuff is very AoS-ified and has mad scale creep to match the 25mm bases. Old armies look way better even if they're made with older technology.
>>98861916Such a gay take>Durr the skeletons are sooooo derpy they need a refresh!>N-n-not like that!
>>98861989I never asked for new skeletons and didn't think they were "derpy." All of the refreshes have been dogshit, honestly fampai. Why did they even redo Chaos Warriors they were basically modern sculpts. Just more slop from nuGW.

>play mainly 6E and occasionally ToW>want to start a new army, Wood Elves>want to focus mainly on the elves with maybe one treeman as sort of a centerpiece Should I get two battle march boxes or the battalion box? It's mainly a difference between having more archers or cavalry.I plan on printing some spare hero models and such but want to buy the base boxes to support my shop.
>>98862387The Battle March is pretty good value, so getting 2 for around $90 would also be a good value. But apparently the Battalion is on Amazon prime for $165, which is an even better deal. Can't really go wrong other than playing Wood Elves because they're pretty bad. But if you don't care about them being bad then have fun.
>>98861642The problem with bringing them back, other than the completely unappealing situation of modern prices for metal minis (at around 60£ per 10 models), is that many of the units that made the dogs of war were "special characters" that existed at the time of karl franz rather than the period the old world is set in, which is a relatively small obstacle as a few retcons to make them models for generic archetypes of those units would most probably be hardly controversialthe absolutely best thing they could possibly do is bring back the old range in the form of a made to order run and then release a few plastic kits to represent the key units and aesthetics of the army>pikemen in full armor (head options for estalian conquistador helmets and for tilean grecoroman helmets)>crossbowmen with pavises (once again, head options for morion helmets and some other tilean hat)>tilean birdmen >estalian diestros>small artillery piece pulled by horse>paymaster wagon>mercenary general on foot and horsethen the rest of the army can be made up of other existing kits, like dwarf warriors and slayers, goblin infantry and cavalry, badlands and imperial ogres, giants, wizards, knightly orders, chaos marauders etc.
>>98861549TKs are kino and that kit is really fun to paint, enjoy getting back into the hobby.
>>98862233Like I said mate, you need to do better. Be a bit subtle about it. Less is more, you know.
NEW THING BADOLD THING GOODBECAUSE IT JUST IS
I think it’s quite funny that Cathay gets the furries when it’s tomb kings that need the visual variety in their army with some flesh and blood creatures. As it stands the range is too dull from a conceptual stand point never mind taking the models into account. Fucking hell even mummy swarms would do some good for them.
>>98862395I can get either for prices closer to each other. But its actually good that they're bad since I heard they're OP in 6E and I was worried about that, I prefer the challenge.
>>98862760Well old thing didn't have DEI tranny skeletons so yes
>>98862760Old thing was gooder because I was younger and didn't know any better, but I want to be younger again anyway.
>>98862768How can you tell? I guess that is your joke
>>98861650>And after you factor inflation into the mixthis is misleading, the tools and facilities available today are not the tools of 20+ years ago, the blisters were also metal wich even today is a more involved manufacturing process than plasticif they were the same any other company would also charge 30 bucks for a single guy on foot, but they don't (most of them anyways)those prices are a choice gw makes every year because it will sell anyways
>>98853480really?I've been waiting for that legion of the damned box for a month..... turned down some stuff I could have otherwise been doing because I thought I would have to go in person to my lgs to preorder..... and it's still not even announced officially.

>>98862972Or maybe there are multiple people who see no real value in GW taking what should be a way to sell their older sculpts and updating to less impressive sculpts and at a higher price?
>>98862972Wonder if people will ever stop falling for it
>>98862936they are indeed quite good, I say this as a former TK player. Probably the best TOW stuff I've seenI'll always have a soft spot for the Old Skellies but I'm wondering if I should actually get some modes for them to pay respects (I won't, I'm not made of money)I'll say the design team article saying "we gave them armour" misses the point that they shouldn't really have armour or breastplates to better represent the time period and ancient Egypt vibes but thats a minor quibble
What is the most adorable old world mini in your eyes?
I look at Nu-Hammer, and it leaves me cold. This is gay.It has no way to not be gay. They could perfectly reproduce Warhammer as it was when I was a child, and it would still be fucking gay.Because the intrinsic gayness of the people making it now just leaches into everything they do, like Typhoid Mary, or women pissing out their birth control chemicals into the water supply, or food that was prepared without washing your hands. It's just tainted. There was a time when I would have been happy to see my childhood living on through other people. Now?I feel sorry for them.

>>98863122the Brets in the old era were literally GrimDumb, just relentlessly stupid over the top Grimdark edginess into absurdity and that was the point
>>98863122Feels like an influx of Youtube and Tiktok informed tourists trying to say that GW needs to turn everything new and super grimdark while not understanding the core and heart of Warhammer Fantasy.

>>98863168I love Orks in 40K and Orcs and Goblins in fantasy for being unapologetically goofy that they shit on the Grimderp
>>98863171They are 7pp, have T4 (which is more than other units of their comparison have), can have dual weapons or a shield, they can also ambush, switch between open order and skirmishers mid game and so on. Then they have primal fury and all that that could entail.Gors are pretty neat overall in my opinion. Fun to build too, lots of room for conversions and later on; color schemes.
>>98863122Warhammer fantasy is at its best when it’s tongue in cheek mixed with dark and gritty themes.
>>98863020I have no idea what project lustria is but those are just scans from the original GW Pygmies released with an RPG adventure in Lustria. They're going to be used in a Mordheim campaign in Lustria.

>>98863218I didn't know that, that's neat.
TQ: I hope that whatever form TOW 2e takes, they go back to Armybooks. The Arcane Journals were fine for what initially looked like a limited, low budget revival of the game but TOW seems to have expanded far beyond that.I'd much rather have Armybooks and premium 150+ page campaign books than a never ending flow of mini-books with rules and lore scattered across numerous books, with more than a suspicion that random rules are thrown into unrelated Journals to make you buy them.
>>98858579Yes, yes they do. No reason not to have Khalida in this time period.

>>98863945New Gargantuan Treeman absolutely fucksThis thing is what Treemen should have been.
>>98863980A much bigger base than the normal Treemen Ancients; what model do they expect people to use for this?
>>98863988
>>98863988That's the most interesting part; unlike Tomb Guard Chariots or Winged Warsphinxes, this unit lacks the "Represeting This In Your Games" box... very strong hints at a model to come.
>>98863997That's still on a 50 x 50 base
>>98863980This thimg is practically at the level of 5th ed Treemen, absolute monsters!
>>98864008it's actually on a 200x200 base, that's just a big hand
>>98864021didn't know andré painted miniatures
>>98863610>"WHAT THE FUCK AM I CASTING!?"
>see Tzeentch daemons MTO>get hyped at chance to buy some of the best miniatures ever made >no horrors in the MTO Is GW stupid?
>>98864089I would guess either the Brettonia Orc and Empire MTO, which had large blocks of metal models, were unsuccessful, so GW doesn't want to waste that time again on demons, or they don't want to do an MTO of Diez Demonettes so the other lesser demon models are a casualty of that
>>98864089very possible that some of those old molds are broken or degraded now to the point that they cant get passable casts out of them
>>98863881Why don't you?
>>98863882She's not even that attractive. Tabletop nerds really do need to meet more women.
>>98864107That makes 0 sense considering we got MTO’s for basic metal infantry for MESBG afterwards >>98864108That would be truly tragic
>>98863980What's that supposed to be? The Durthu/threeman model?
>>98864379So we're back to GW not wanting to do an MTO of the Deiz Demonettes then
>>98864388It's too big for that, since you could just put those on a 50 x 75 mm base, which is already legal in TOW for Treemen
>>98863318There isn’t going to be a 2nd edition anytime soon. 1.5 is basically the second edition of this game, and it’s rulebook will be good for at least as long as the original one was. I’m guessing a true 2nd edition will come in 2029 at the earliest but possibly 2030 because even numbers,As lame as it is, the AJ+refresh cycle for Old World works for both the grogs who buy this game and for bringing in new players with new plastic.
>>98864379>>98864089they're commonly found through ivan or chang
>>98863074>shillA shill has something to sell.I don't see anything worth buying.Save up for a fucking house or something, you wretch.
>>98864629Really? I thought those were on that big ass base size.
>>98863988Go out and carve a treeman from an oak branch.
new TK AoI looking sexy
>>98864697I think you’re the first person I’ve seen say that. Care to explain? The loregrogs don’t like it because it isn’t Kemmler’s Barrow Kingdoms themed and the TK crowd don’t like it because it’s just “poor TKs” with weird restrictions and princes on dragons, with some nonsensical chariot stat bonuses thrown in.
>>98863171They would be too good, they are already really good
>>98864726the restrictions dont affect me in any way and I can play my list as usual just with better chariots, which is based. also access to new spell lores and etheral skirmish archer is cool and the new upgrades for horsemen maybe even makes them not completely shit. will have to try out. And I couldnt give less of a shit about kemmler and VC-fags. people who were thinking they would become a core faction or part of the TK-roster were completely delusional.
>>98864680No, just 50 x 75; that's why Treeman have Min and Max Base the same as the Giants, as it allows AoS models to be used.Even GW employees use the Giant plastics instead of the Resin
>>98864771>nd I couldnt give less of a shit aboutNo one asked you what you cared about, just why you think a super subpar AoI is "sexy." Thanks for explaining but leave the attitude in the closet where it belongs.
>>98864771>completely delusional.Yeah it was mostly hopium, which makes all the whining so obnoxious. Nobody said or promised it would be backdoor Vampire Counts.
>>98864845I don't think anybody thought it'd be Vampire Counts, just that the options may reflect the existing lore and choices. It's a "barrow" army in name alone. The rules don't have any room for Simulacra (AoI can't take Ushtabi which could have stood in for Simulacra) or Glooms, and they restrict your Tomb Scorpions.
>>98864873>I don't think anybody thought it'd be Vampire CountsPeople were legit making straight up comparisons and saying things like "ethereal carrion can fit in for Glooms!". People definitely thought that.
>>98864891Right. There was some expectation that the list would have anything at all to do with existing Barrow Kingdoms lore and have some leeway for proxying. But no one expected actual VC rules, particularly because the old Kemmler list wasn't VC at all but an amalgamation of VC and TK models to make a necromantic undead list. GW should have called the AoI something like Chariot Vanguard or some shit. Calling it Barrow Kingdoms is kind of a bait-and-switch.
>>98863610I think I'm getting this FW LoC
A fluff question:In terms of generic lords, where exactly would a Doombull land in respect of Chaos Lords, Ogre Tyrants, Warbosses and other big hitters? As well, if a Doombull slew a chaos champion, is it fuffy for it to tear off its armour and use it as its own gear / could beastmen actually reshape bits to fit?
new colossus kit confirmed? Don't think they've ever had great weapons.
>>98865054No, that's old art, so I don't think so
>>98865054Nah that's old art.I would like one, and a Hierotitan model, but I doubt it will be anytime soon.
>>98864630We'll see. Apparently Kislev is on the slate for the next 18 months according to Hastings, so if that comes and goes with 2e, then we're hopefully free of the 30k edition cycle and more into something like Necromunda 2017.
>>98865164>HastingsDidn't Boole show up, thank him for his old service, and then say everything he said was wrong? I'd trust Boole over him, though other leakers have said Kislev is coming so it's probably right.
>>98865174BOOLE NOTICE ME SENPAI PLEASE. I''LL EAT YOUR SHIT AND REGURGITATE YOUR LIES AND DRAMA, BOOLE! PLEASE!
>>98865202Weird thing to post while glazing Hastings leaks
>>98865054That's a bone giant and even if gw never make that model it can still be procured with not too much searching if you so desire.
>>98865054>Don't think they've ever had great weapons.let me teach you
>>98864127Come one now.
>>98865641
>>98865671>any modeller with a little experience can carve the liche priest casket out of the metal tomb scorpionLmao
>>98865646Good painter but otherwise a sadly vapid Pick Me Girl.
>>98864697it looks forgettable
can someone post the wood elf stuff. I need to know if now is a good time to sell all my wood elf shit while they're going to be strong or not.
Think we will ever get Warshrines, Forsaken, Mutaliths and Slaughterbrutes back for WoC? I have a pair of Warshrines and both a Mutalith and Slaughterbrute I would love to field, but sadly the local scene only plays ToW now.
>>98866014Forsaken will probably get new models when they come back to the store at this point.
>>98865863>"Pick me"A meaningless noise women throw at one another in an attempt to shame women who try to impress men on their own terms. It would be less vapid to call her an opportunistic grifter with no real investment.
>>98866014>Think we will ever get Warshrines, Forsaken, Mutaliths and Slaughterbrutes back for WoC?no
>>98866634>less vapidbut objectively wrong
>>98866014I think when TLW drops there will be a culling of fantasy minis still in use in AoS, and when that day comes the warshrine will be in an arcane journal soon afterI think the only reason we are getting Gargantuan Treemen is because the Treeman kit still in use in AoS will be gone soon alongside the Dryads
>>98866819maybe you haven't noticed but the warshrine left aos before tow rolled around, it's not coming here, for whatever reason
>>98866819>TLWLmao. Keep sipping that Boolejuice.
>>98866799Tell us about the femoid, and how deeply invested she is in the autistic space man game for perpetual teenaged boys.
>>98867096she went by savageorkguy here on /tg/ over 10 years ago, long before she got a job at gw, or got known as a girl to begin with
>>98865671wonder if they'll change the lore one day so that bone giants are literally giant skeletons and not statues, seeing as the dragon is literally a dragon.
>>98867123They could say whatever in the latest official canon lore and I would still throw that away and give for granted that for any given nehekharan shit there's all sorts of variants from the literal skeleton of a giant, a giant made out with the bones of other things like animals and small people, a statue sculpted in the shape of a giant skeleton, and any thing in-between and besides those
>>98867118Fair enough, story checks out.>pickmeIs still a meaningless woman-on-woman slur though. It is normally uttered out of pure jealousy at the attention deficit.
>>98867146I wasn't arguing against thatalso fuck me it's incredible how gw has no idea what to do with tzeentch
>>98865646You're correct, Tuomas Pirinen is a fine looking man. Better than horse gums.
>>98867253He is very short however
>>98867263I thought he was pretty tall for a 28mm scale hobbyist.
>>98867263Hench as fuck though. He's like a dwarf.
video of the new TK sprues https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDyosCyHx84
>>98867267Kek. Thanks for the laugh anon.
What models do you use for your wizard familiars?
>>98867352Nothing because magic is for pussies
>>98867489Cool grey daemons bro, what god do they worship?
>>98867123Wait, they weren't always just dead giants? Why would you sculpt a stone giant skeleton and then dress it up in actual clothes/armour?
>>98867499Ancient Nehekhara is obsessed with deathIt's one of those weird things when they are compared to IRL ancient Egypt.
>>98867288I partially disagree with the designer. The heads should have been seperate from the body.
>>98867524I don't think it really matters in the end.
>>98867541I admit not playing TK, yet still believe it does matter, in the long run; because it's a decision that he and other designer-members of the team will face when it comes to eventually redesign the other factions' core units.
>>98867560Anon, stop being such an alarmist. In this very same box skeleton archers have separate heads.
>>98867524>The heads should have been seperate from the body.how trivial is it to cut them?
>>98867640On the sprue the lower jaw is part of the body
>>98866014>Mutalith and SlaughterbruteAbsolutely not. If it were up to me I’d remove the dragon ogres too, all frankly ugly models. >warshrine Will likely be reinvented like the awful new chaos sculpts.
New thread:>>98867750>>98867750
>>98860785well I did it anyways.
>>98867166Fuck me that's gay.Terrifically realized technicolour.Looks like he's about to change alright. Not replicable on any sort of mass scale, looks like a high end Fabergé Egg.
