>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG by R. Talsorian Games, set in a (then) future inspired by film noir and the dark science fiction films and books of the late 20th century. It focuses on simulationist gameplay and lethal near-future combat.

Cyberpunk RED is the latest edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG, set after the devastating Fourth Corporate War. It focuses on more balanced, streamlined gameplay and is currently supported by R. Talsorian Games.

Feel free to discuss Shadowrun and other cyberpunk games here as well.

So how's the rent in these things?
>>
>>98899348
1000-2000eb per month at the minimum(RED).

By our standards V is living in a really good apartment with food and drink access right outside his room
>>
>>98899348
Probably depends on where you live, lower floors have lower rent and the higher you go the more expensive it gets. If you were some mundane rando you could probably get a mid tier apartment.
>>
Have any of you folks ever done the Single Player mode for Cyberpunk? Thought of using it to run a quick campaign with the Edgerunners Mission Kit.
>>
Yo guy who posted the dual welding supplement last thread:
Put a changelog with the link
>>
>>98899357
Also Gloria was in fact raking in eddies pulling that apartment and paying for corporate education. Guess salvaging chrome does pay well.
>>
>>98899455
Speaking of corporate education

Is it just me or is it rather dogshit?
You can just get what they're chipping in your brains at home or with enough money. If I'm paying for a corporate education I better fucking be in the McMansion zone smelling the fake grass and trees and away from the pollution.
>>
>>98899462
Reminds me of a discussion a bit back on which life path would have had the best education. Think it landed on nomad, takes a village styled education, corpo is gonna be very targeted not general, and street kid is lucky to even have one.
>>
>>98899476
I'm thinking of corporate education just being an MBA that you start fronm the age of 8.
Nightmare nightmare nightmare

>You can just get what they're chipping in your brains at home or with enough money.
It's all about networking. David was in the sane class as the son of the chairman of the local Arasaka branch. You gotta think about connections not the education.

And inside, it comes with a vending machine.

Am I reading this right, Kendo gives you moves you can do with a melee weapon, but you can't use it to attack with a melee weapon, you still need the Melee skill for that, and you can use Kendo for unarmed attacks?

No scavving would be taking that shit from living people, Gloria was straight up just ripping shit from folks the meat wagons picked up, a victimless crime all things considered.

>>98899348
Because it's about to get spooky in here I'll say the guy who rents you the apartment very pointedly says "It's the best place you'll ever live." and that rent wont "Be more than you can take with you." He keeps saying "They're to die for." and expects a reaction from you, whenever he points something out about the building.
>>
>>98899967
This.

>>98899896
I also splashed in a lot of GenTech (from the Dark Future books/game) into mine.
>>
I'm looking for a narrative cyberpunk game, not necessarily rules lite but less focused on combat and more on roleplay. Which isn't to say it shouldn't be violent, but I don't want combat simulators like lancer and 5e, and I seem to understand that 2020 and Red fall under that umbrella

Are Maelstrom women good for you?
>>
>>98900101
Use 2020 or Red for the underlying framework(and lore if you're up on that), you don't really need much ruleswise for roleplay and it gives a lot of freedom and tools when it comes to living in the dystopia.
>>
>>98900102
Can you fix her?
>>
>>98900101
Maybe neon city overdrive? It's definitely on the more rules light side, but it treats everything the same, so combat isn't weighted any more than any other system.

There is also The Sprawl, which uses powered by the apocalypse. Ymmv heavily on that one. There is a Forged in the Dark cyberpunk game, but it was really tied to nano machines and climate collapse stuff, not really my cup of tea. And, while still kind of more in the d&d camp, their is Cities Without Number.
>>
>>98900246
Looks like she's into fixing herself. Independent women, as they say.
>>
>>98900102
Depends, did they plate it over, or give it a kung fu grip?
>>
>>98898132
previously, a fella (I want to say >>98893554) said that sarif industries would be making a killing on aesthetics. I'd submit they'd be the Apple of cyberware. but that's a separate tism.
>>
Would you chrome up if you got isekai'd to a cyberpunk setting? Or would you stay 'ganic?

i'd be poor and not able to buy any chrome

Get a loan from a corp, that's 10k, and sign yourself up to work in a dollhouse, you won't even have to experience all the use of your holes and they'll pay for the chip in your brain, when the contract is up you're all set to get started.
>>
>>98901538
Realistically I'm too squeamish to let myself get cut apart like that.
>>
>>98901538
I'd at least get a few of my limbs replaced. Mostly a separate issue there though.

They got that shit going even for their organs. I'd say it's an apt comparison I can see Sarif being very anti-modification.
>>
>>98901504
In general Human Revolution is how I kind of imagine the corpo world in Europe looking compared to the rough American Military feel of Militech and neo-Japanese feel of Arasaka. Not a common sight in NC, but it's a good place to draw ideas from if you want something different.

Yes, that's how it works.

Kendo gives you the ability to lower Aimed shot penalty with melee weapon, and deflect bullets, bombs with your MA skill.

You can attack with your martial art of unarmed, so like all hybrid martial arts if you have a linear frame it's more efficient to just punch them then use your melee weapon.

Kendo is best for characters who don't plan on going above BOD 10.

Honestly, there's ONE printed NPC with Autofire, which you can't block, and Cut The Bullet can also defend the whole group from explosives since you just need to be in the area of the blast to get a chance to stop it, that level of "nope" against ranged attacks makes using a melee weapon more desirable than an extra die of damage. Especially with the right weapon, like this one.
