I spite-cast Razia's Purification yesterday, it felt great. I was already falling behind with missed land drops, had my only non-land permanent of a mana rock be destroyed, and the only other spell that I could cast was countered. I always run a minimum of 2 basic lands of each color in the deck. in my 5 color i think its 4 forests 3 plains and then 2 each of the others. absolutely nothing wrong with running more basics though but you will still probably want a primary color to run until your WUBRG engine is online. I run 37 lands in almost every deck except 38 in one or two, one of those might be the 5c deck. and 36 in a high power deck with mox and mana vault and all that shit. stuff like bloom tender and prismatic geoscope are nice. cascading cataracts + mana reflection is a nice thing to do as well.
