If highlights are too large and midtone you just get a grey-looking surface. Avoiding very dark areas on the rest of the model also helps. If your blacks are the darkest parts you're halfway there.

>>98919514A couple things you could do to elevate the model:1. Clean up the sprue gate on the top of the backpack. Either sand it town or just use a hobby knife, will make the mini much cleaner.2. Paint those lenses, pick a high contrast colour and add a little to the eyes to make the face more readable. 3. Thin down some black or ger a wash to get into the recesses. A little bit on the line at the top of the backpack and the little holes on the armour can do a lot to make the mini look more defined and break up the big blocks of color that SMs have.
