So, why did Playmobil never take off in USA? It seems to be doing well in EU but never saw it do well in USA like Lego did, why is that?
>>
>>11498045 (OP)
They are boring
>>
>>11498045 (OP)
Because it's "Lego but you don't build anything. "
>>
>>11498045 (OP)

Playmobil are about play and roleplay

Lego is about building, play and roleplay. The building in playmobil is more akin to a model kit let's say than lego. You can't do more.
>>
>>11498051
Playmobil is all pre-built like every 5poa toy, so you're way off.
>>
>>11498045 (OP)
because it's not a naked six inch 1/12 super hero from retarded cape shit movies
>>
>>11498054
>he doesn't know
>>
>>11498053
He's not talking about the figures, dumdum. Bigger sets need to be partially built, I had several ships like that.
>>
>>11498065
That'a cute, what size?
>>
>>11498119

still not akin to a model kit neither, dumberdumber. It's no different from Blokees nor the Mario playsets

Probably cause it's so pricey. I don't care about the figures, but the rides and buildings were always cool. I especially like their fantasy stuff and I'm tempted to get more since they go perfect with Gashapon Quest figures. Sadly space is probably more of an issue than budget so I hesitate to dive too hard into things.

But I'd love to at least get me a nice castle set, but the problem is the one I really want is ten years out of print and hard to come by these days.
>>
>>11498045 (OP)
because the us always had better action figures and play sets so they don't need playmobil.
>>

Lol hahahahaha

How much?
>>
>>11499686
6€ the set.
>>
>>11498835
I wouldn't worry, Playmobil seems to release their old stuff often.
>>11499429
that mummy is so cool
>>
Some of their stuff is surprisingly good! Love the Delorean, comes with a lot of stuff, rubber tires, can transform to flying mode and it even lights up. I just wish the minifigures were better... All of them have the same face.
>>
>>11499716
They have soul
>>
>>11498065
Why aren't they making a whole DC line? Playmobil could do IPs like star wars, marvel, etc. because they are not a building toy like lego.

Why don't they try to get more licenses to enter the US market?
>>
>>11501304
And they're timeless.

Playmobil for me always seemed meant for really little kids.

Apparently playmobil is going under, maybe Mattel will buy them?

idk if it should ever be compared to lego, it's not exactly a toy that values "the building" in the way lego does, it's like comparing Art Deco [Playmobil] to Bauhaus [Lego], Bauhaus [Lego] is ideological where was Art Deco [Playmobil] isn't, Playmobil little more than uniformed playsets --proto-funkopop style.

>why it never took off in the USA
idk, USA is generally considered to by thirdworld by us Europeans, maybe it's like asking why toilets never took off in India
>>
Its doing pretty well over here in Canada.
But its not as popular as it used to be thats for sure

The back to the future and The A team playmobile was dope

I saw the discussion on playmo forums, the parent company of Playmo is going under.

Hahahahaha
>>
Why can playmobil have western, castle and pirates lines but lego can't?
>>
>>11517815
Because playmobil is a smaller niche than lego
>>
>>11517557
Link?
>>
>>11517815
They dont. Only castle is a main stay. Cowboys and pirates were once a stndard line but now got reduced to a once every 5 year theme.
>>
>>11498045 (OP)
SINCE WHEN DID FUCKING PLAYMOBIL DISCONTINUE THE COWBOY THEME?! FUCKING CUNTS!
