>>11533312You think they're re-release the original MOTUC He-Man? I like the Masterverse figures, but the original Classics mould, aged as it is, seems to capture that original Alcala style better. Also to that end Classics figures go for ridiculous amounts on the secondary market which is bullshit.
>>11533385No link to the discord in OP either.
>>11533464I'd like of they used that head at least. The one that came out on whatever body a year or two ago sucked.

>>11529361Shit posted in the wrong thread. Anyway I think I preferred the original one and I don't get why it was so looked down on.
>>11533464nothing is stopping mattel from doing it but collectors seem to value articulation over sculpt at this point, I don't think we're ever going back to those classics molds
>>11533762the left wing of the frontfacade looked lame to meI really like the iron maiden and kinda wish they would sell that loose
>>11533762It's a fucking mess. People were mad that it didn't resemble the artwork at all, but I suspect most people would have been fine if it actually looked good. The thing is wildly uneven, the front looks terrible, the entire front right side is either too plain or too busy with the snake vehicle docked into it. When it is docked it literally cuts into the front facade. The back has a lot of unused space. Really the only part of it I like is the snake eggs with the snake cage. It's kind of a messed up alien like scenario suggesting someone is getting held for the snake eggs to hatch and get eaten. Cool.
>>11533792I admit the front facade of the current one looks better, but I like how spread out everything is on the original. The interiors of the new one are all on top of each other.
it would be so fucking funny if this failed, please God let it fail.
>>11533817Snorsechads won, the lair will fund. Pythonusfags are going to lose out though.

Do you think GI Joe crossover is inevitable? It's the last big brand, isn't it?Funny how every crossover had different rules. Sun-Man straight up got absorbed. Stranger Things had 2-packs with MOTUfied monsters and vintage repainted figures. VeeFriends made new OC for this. TMNT went ham with lines, their characters, motu characters, deluxe, BAF, minicomic, full comic. Thundercats has swappable parts to pick between regular and crossover looks. And Transformers will be first not to have any actual Transformers characters in it because you can't force them on Origins buck.
>>11533905Nice.
>>11533905Did DCUC end because of WB ghosting Mattel for Spin Masters and McFarlane?
>>11534137If anything it's going to be Power Rangers, given they're major crossover whores and even though Hasbro fucked everything up by cutting ties with Toei, they are doing somewhat better than GI Joe right now.Not to mention having He-Man and the others in colorful spandex based around them and various Evil Warriors fused with different monsters, not to mention a Skeletor/Lord Zedd fusion wouldn't look as stupid as the Megatron fusion would sell toys better (Also wouldn't GI Joe be confusing given how it would make better sense for Cobra to work with the Snake Men given their theme?).
>>11534236No, Mattel basically put the line into deep freeze until they cancelled it just to bring it back in various new forms over the years. The Blackest Night collection proved to perform so poorly after the failure of the Green Lantern Movie Master toyline, they basically had no choice in the matter. The Super Friends waves left behind alot of peg warmers too. From what I remember, they did a Batman 75 anniversary collection right after. Then they led into the TDKR collection, followed by Arkham Asylum and Man of Steel. Afterwards they had Batman Unlimited, and then things got even rockier. Coinsiding with the DCEU releases the collection was rebranded "DC Multiverse" and largely performed terribly. Tons of unsold stock ended up in Five Below, Burlington, and Ollies. It was right after that Mattel lost the license (2017/2018).
Planeteternia.de is saying the next wave of Origins is Adora, Glimmer and Scorpia, to be released before they get into 200x
>>11534247Also that we WILL get Dragstor, Stingor and Eldor before Christmas as 2025 releases
>>11534044As always i love how you color my work. Thanks anon
"The Evil Horde still exists?! And you dared to serve Hordak?"
That time Tung Lashor served Hordak as a schoolteacher.
>>11534137I do. Not only is it the last big brand, it's the last big brand that appeals to oldfags. ARAH was one of the big four 80's toy brands. Anytime people talk 80's toys, it is always Transformers, Gi Joe, Thundercats, and He-man. Aside from a curve ball like a Marvel or Star Wars crossover, Gi Joe and DC are the most obvious next steps. >Transformers characters in it because you can't force them on Origins buck. For as much as I like Skeletron they really fucked up in not just turning the bots into MOTU Warriors. It's the most obvious choice, they could have referenced the Action Masters and the Pretenders, and the crossover would have been more appealing to TF-fags as a result. That said I'm still hoping for actual MOTU Transformers from Hasbro. Time will tell I guess.>>11534238IDK, Power Rangers seems like a huge stretch. DC is already in the bag as is and they can pull some influence from the Super Powers collection (the cartoon is coming up on its 55th anniversary within the next two years aswell). Gi Joe is the last big Hasbro IP, and even though it's struggled to retain relevancy in modern media, it still moves merchandise like crazy amongst diehard fans. I'd be very surprised if Rangers happens before either Gi Joe or DC.
>>11534253It's always a good time whenever the bad guys end up in bumbling scenarios like this
>>11534249It is you! Thought I recognised the line work. I'm glad I was able to keep your original line work this time without needing recreate it.
>>11534247I sure hope they're right!
>>11534259>Anytime people talk 80's toys, it is always Transformers, Gi Joe, Thundercats, and He-manIn my experience, Thundercats was not close to the other 3 in popularity. It might be end of the decade, but Turtles absolutely smoked Thundercats. Hell, I knew more kids that had a Voltron or RGB figures than Thundercats figs.
>>11534276I guess it boils down to the year you were born>Late Gen X = Thundercats>early Millenial = TMNT
>>11534247>>11534248That sounds almost too optimistic...Wave with Pop figures sounds surprising but then again they're running out of HmaMotu figures so I guess not impossible?
>>11534284The thing is too, if we were getting one more wave of CC before 200x, why wasn't it at SDCC?And not to give toyhabits too much credit, prior to sdcc they had articles about retail listings for 200x He-Man, Tri-klops and Stratos, but nothing about Adora, Scorpia and Glimmer wave? Retailers SHOULD have had those listings the same time as 200x, no?
>>11534284>>11534294Actually one other thought...the only way I could see this as legit is if the Adora wave is NOT actually a proper wave preceding 200x, but it's more like the last "wave" of snakes with Terroar, Grasp, Reptilax and Vypor. Those were never shown at any cons and weren't a proper wave, thry were an assortment of exclusives released around the same time as the first Cartoon Collection wave
>>11533817What would be the point of backing this now after the early bird tier? Doubt it will even hit the pythonus tier. If they comeout and say, hey guys, were actually giving every backer skeleslyther even if you back it now, I can see it getting just past the pythonus tier.
>>11534279as an early millennial i had a huge amount of MOTU toys because toy stores had stock for more than 10 years in my country(we had local factories maybe it helped). i didn't know Thundercats was a thing before i reach adulthood and only had a few TMNT toys.i didn't even know the cartoon was a thing either.
>>11534330(He-Man cartoon)
>>11534330>>11534331Could it be a regional matter then? I'm more familiar with how trends played out in the Americas. In LatAm Thundercats and MOTU were akin to DC and Marvel in terms of sheer popularity
>>11534360maybe. i'm in western Europe
https://toynewsi.com/241-59447
Does it just look like it or do you all only care for the origins line and ignore that the Masterverse even exists?
>>11534387lol
>>11534397Nobody likes that they are 7 inch.
>>11534259Crossovers are for normies. That's why we got MAAmBlebee instead of more fitting fusion. No one comes to MOTU TF crossover for Action Masters. When was even last time Pretenders were in a cartoon?
>>11534402this. they don't fit with either classics nor vintage
>>11534410But aren't Classics 7" too?
Transformers, GI Joe, why not just keep rolling? MOTU X Micronauts crossover? I want Karza-esque Skeletor centaur.
>>11534410What kind of complaint is that? It's its own collection. They're supposed to fit in with each other. What, new toylines are supposed to just be supplementary material for defunct lines now?
>>11534397I like Masterverse and buy the figures, I just think that Origins wins out because it fits in with both the aesthetic of the original line, but is also compatible, as well as doing vehicles and playsets which is infeasible for the larger Masterverse line. There are also way more characters in the Origin line.
>>11534414not exactly the same size>>11534417it's not a complaint, it's the reason most people don't buy them.see, most collectors don't just sell their whole collection when a new line comes up. and they have limited room.
>>11534419weirdI only have one Classics and one MV figure, Draegoman and Stinkor, and they're about the same height
>>11534424>Draegomanthat's probably the horns
>>11534426I was not taking the horns into account
>>11534419There's also the fact that 7" MV suffers from the same issue WWE 7" figures have: The body proportions are stretched out from 6" design to be 7" figures. Compare MV, WWE Elite, and McFarlane. While Todd has his own design issues (the rubber crotch for example), the figures are more proportional of a proper form. Mattel extends the things like the boots and torso in MV and legs, boots, and torso in WWE to make it conform to 7" This is why MV Rev got huge pushback early on for how the figures "looked". If you give He-man a more V shaped torso and bulkier arms his body starts to even out for the 7" scale.
>>11534419the classics buck looks so much more appealing its not even funny. I tried to warm upto MV, but aside from the monster men, the humans in MV just dont look as good.
>>11534416Micronauts is probably seen as being "too niche". If we're discussing pipe dream crossovers, I'd love to see hasbro make Battle Beast × MOTU minis.
>>11534397Masterverse got better overtime, so while I regret passing on many later releases, the simple matter of fact that Origins and MCX came out first meant I wasnt going to triple dip with MV.
>>11534434They could do a handful of new heads and maybe a couple of weapons to Battle Catman up a few Beasts for MOTU
>>11534438>inb4 we finally get gygor and the PoG dinos but they're all mini scaled
Well I'm glad the only MOTU fan in Japan is happy about this
>>11534387Yea, no point in backing this project at this point. It won't make it to Pythonus unlock and you won't get Slither. Playset and the Snorse isn't worth the $300 + 8% tax + S&H + tarriffs.
>>11534472You know, that actually does make me smile. It's nice to see genuine enthusiasm for something I don't agree with him, but I'm happy for him

>>11534478Neat. A bit late to the party after TMNT, GI Joe, Power Rangers and even Toxic Crusaders did it, but fun to see nontheless
>>11534478Finally a good looking arcade Heman game, and on the switch.
How come the origins females look worse than the masterverse figures but the males are kinda the same?
>>11534478Nice. No demo yet, but it seems to play much better than the GIJoe one.
>>11534478I'm hyped
>>11534478you think there will be a new game plus where you can play as skeletor and fight the good guys?
>>11534478Hope this puts Shakoti, Shadow Beast and Goblins in the works for CC origins.
>>11534247>>11534248getting adora, glimmer, scorpia, eldor, and dragstor for Christmas would be a dream.
>>11534511Shokoti all but confirmed, lady slither has the same cape.
>>11534514>getting adora, glimmer, scorpia, eldor, and dragstor for Christmas would be a dream...oh...ok..
>>11534478Called it. I just hope it's not rushed like GI Joe and Rita's Rewind or takes two years to rework it like Toxic Crusaders. And PLEASE let weirdos like Man-E-Faces, Stratos, Buzz-off, Mekanek, Ram-Man, and even Orko doing goofy shit that somehow injures enemies be playable.
Hope the devs go full-out with boss fights>Trap-Jaw moves around the stage quickly changing his right arm to perform different attacks.>The fight with Mer Man takes place on a platform surrounded by water with players having to guess where he's going to pop out.>Ninjor jumps around and does that whole "creating copies of himself".>Scare-Glow does spooky shit like teleporting and popping up out of nowhere.>Saurod and Blade are fought as a duo fight similar to Groundchuck and Dirtbag in Shredder's Revenge.>Whiplash tries to smash into you and knock you across the stage with his tail.
>>11534549Blast Attak splits in two and darts around the screen Krang styleStinkor leaves gas clouds that temporarily stun you so smaller enemies on screen can attack youTwistoid goes full beyblade and bounces around the screen chaotically Webstor and Kobra Khan fight as duo as well
>>11534549>>11534553What vehicles should be bosses? I definitely see Roton being fought similar to Bebop and Rocksteady in their 4x4 with it bouncing across the screen.
>>11534549>Scare-Glowthe entire screen goes black and you only see some glowing green and your character
>Game is apparently going to feature four playable characters.Surely they'll pull a Shredder's Revenge and add more later? Just feels like a cop-out with only four.
>>11534279I'm the anon you replied to and I am late Gen X. Like I said, I knew more people with a Lion Force Voltron than Thundercats figures. I've always considered it as one of the mid tier 80s toylines like Silverhawks, M.A.S.K. and Dino-Riders. Not saying Thundercats was not popular, but the toyline was far less popular than TMNT, let alone other mid tier toylines like Voltron and RGB.
>>11534602if you pay, yeah. I've rewatched the trailer and does Evil-Lyn look like one of those four playables to anyone else?
Which would you say is the better Skeletor, if I only want one? The new Eternia one comes with a lot more accessoires, especially the sword but I do really dig that cheesy smile of the revelations skeletor. However the skull coloring did look very weird in some review videos, not like on the pictures.
>>11534434I would love to see more articulated mini MotU figures. Battle Beast crossover, Dino-Riders crossover... come on.
>>11534511>Beastman: ABLRLRLRLRLRLRLRLR
>>11534634NE in every capacity. Multiple display options, vintage colors, just a generally much more versatile option. Rev Skelly has a fugly bone white face and the propoetions still arent quite right. If you have to get a Rev Skeletor go for the Horde version.
>>11534635In a perfect world Mattel would just bring over the MCX figures to a new Dino Riders collection. That could open the door to everything from Mighty Max to Battle Beasts.
>>11534616Imagine how cool it'd be if you could unlock new Masters by progressing through the game
>>11534478im genuinely surprised it took them this long
Not to derail too much but the loss of Mega is especially disheartening because they did so well by their brands. Even before they got ahold of MOTU, they were pulling from alot of the same inspiration. I doubt most regulars ITT are familiar, but across the aughties Mega had a super successful line of dragon sets. It did so well it was eventually spun off into a space farring theme known as "Dragon's Universe". Not only would MOTU would have looked great in this style, but Dino Riders too.
>forgot pic
>>11534519Is there a list of the new characters created in recent years for the toyline?
>>11534634I have the Revelation figure with a custom head but I'd rather have the New Eternia one with the custom head. I just can't justify buying another one that is so similar though and I got the Revelation one first.
>>11534477https://gamejolt.com/games/he-man/19434This game is better and it's free.
>>11534397Personally with few exceptions I just don't like the proportions of the masterverse figures. I buy the occasional one that can disguise the body's weirdness but most of the fail to.
>>11534634I like both but ive always felt the rev skeletor was pretty solid and if i had to id pick it over the ne version. I just like the revelation colors and cape more.
>>11534616You can see her getting hit by Teela later in the trailer.I REALLY hope they don't cheap out with the bosses like what happened with the GI Joe game.
>>11534419>>11534431
>>11534945it's over
>>11534945>the lanket virgin>the bodybuilder slayer
>>11534549Agreed.They also need more playable characters. Shredder's Revenge launched with 7 and is up to 11 with DLC.Extendar would be my top pick.
>>11534802What happened there?>>11534248Adora, Glimmer and Scorpia would be a good way to buff up POP line-up so it feels at least a little complete. Dont know if it makes it feel more likely to be real or more finger-crossy wishing.
>>11535033Feels finger-crossy to me because I can't get past "why weren't they at sdcc if they're next?"
>>11535033https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk5yzUxwy5E>Reskins of Duke and Snake-Eyes>Regular Cobra Commander fought twice
>>11534746Depends on how strict you are witb "new"The only brand new, not based on anything pre-existing Origins figures are Stingor, Skeleton Warrior, Necro-Conda, the Battle for Eternia 4 pack henchmen and the Snake 4 pack Rattlor and Kobra Khan repaints Now if you just meant "never had a figure before origins" there's probably a dozen or so additional names you could add
>>11535077Duplico, Hypno, Kikto and Zap Man from Rulers of the Sun had never had a figure before.Kol-Darr (Filmation). Sharella (PoG). Lady Slither and Vypor (Classics).
>>11535077I think it's easiest for the sake of discussion to treat Frog Monger like a new Origins character same way as treating Reptilax as new Classics character.
I'm glad the Lair is going to fund.
>>11535085Well that's why I said "depends on how strict you want to be"If the guy I replied to is using the strictest definition of new, Frog Monger and Reptilax existed in the 80s. But if he's not that strict, then both are new to Origins (because if you're not gonna count the minicomic for Reptilax, i wouldn't think you'd count "concept art" from Classics either so Reptilax didn't exist as an established character until Origins and it's minicomic)So, yeah. Decide for yourselves where to draw the line. (I'm personally autistically strict about it, but I'm not gonna fight someone over it)
Which characters with "Man" in their name would be best and worst gender flipped?Worst: Woman-E-Faces and Womantenna, because you lose the puns.Best: Ram Ma'am was clever. "Mermaid" looking like Mer-Man instead of the classical half girl/half fish.
>>11535117Girl-e-faces>>11534434Went with Micronauts because they were part of Hasbro comic universe, along Transformers, GI Joe, Action Man, M.A.S.K. and Rom. Visionaries were also added towards the end.Although I wonder if we're talking about sizable Hasbro properties if DnD would make sense.
>>11535121DnD could work great.He-Man and She-Ra are basically Paladins who have invulnerable skin instead of full plate. Do a Battle Armor He-Man with that Mark Taylor helmet and give She-Ra battle armor and you've basically got it.Keldor is a dark elf with pet panther. Skeletor is a lich whose muscles haven't rotted away yet.Mini-comics Hordak was also a non-human lich, or vampire spellcaster.Beast Man and Moss Man each have a subset of Druid powers.I could go on.

Kittrina, Carnivus Wrap Trap/Mumm-Ra's decaying form and Catra as a catgirl would have been such no-brainers for MotU X Thundercats, but it seems like we can't even get the kittens or any Mutants.
Wow what a deal
>>11535260I don’t have high hopes for much else based on the last wave. I know we got each turtle twice with the Tmnt ones but they were better spaced out
how come all the collabs happen with origins? Wouldn't they be able to cash in double if they do them with the Masterverse too?
>>11535320>ToG/Thundercats/Transformers= Too much competition between NECA, Playmates, Super 7, HasbroSun-Man thus far has been the only exception
>>11535303from my country this thing is nearly $450 after conversion. i don't think the delivery and tax are even included
>>11535323Well the had WWE for awhile at the begining. Id be really pleased if we got another relatively unknown or niche cross over like sun man again. I think an anon mentioned micronuats in this thread and that would be awesome given the modular play styles of them and origins
Ok, random crossover idea - Fuck Stars Wars, lests stick to fantasy - MOTU x Lord of the Rings.
>>11535200Well, looking forward to having all books and comics again.Hopefully forums will be less toxic.

So, early backers get the Slither lady figure, new backers won't? Wow, way to get more people on board now!
>>11535360The coupon is only good for 30 days
>>11535260>>11535305It's not even spacing out, Wave 3 appears to be 100% repaints. Tog always at very least gave new armor. But as I said before, crossovers are for normies. They're didn't put all that money into making crossover to appeal to few nerds that care about some unproduced mummy guy. This is what i dont like about crossovers. There is this air of "dont get invested". What do you mean there still characters from Motu you want? You know that most people dont know let alone care about Blast-Attak, right? It's kinda cringe that you care. You should get with the program and Darth Vader or Batman like normal people. So stop being so bloody invested with vintage and move onto next cool thing! Like Thundercats crossover? What's that? Where are Thunderkittens and mutants? You fool, you werent suppose to be that invested! Take what you got and move on Transformers.
>>11535360>if it was valid up until Dragstor goes on saleSELECT itemsMight not include DragstorAlmost 100% guarantee you wouldn't be able to "stack" your coupon on top of him being "on sale"BUT HEY why don't you go back a few more Snake Lairs, genius!

So I've watchen the Revolution show and I did like the Cyber style in the last few episodes. Are there any toys that rock that style other than the Skeletec figure? I didn't see anything else on amazon but to be honest I do not know all the names and terms.
>>11534478I wonder who the fourth playable character is after He-Man, Duncan and Teela?
So in the Dragon Pearl of Destruction game trailer, they haveSkeleton WarriorsShokoti with DarklingsShadow BeastsGoblinsGranamyr... and this robot dinosaur? I don't know what Filmation episode that might be from.
>>11535400>I wonder who the fourth playable character is after He-Man, Duncan and Teela? They show Evil-Lyn on two stages, so either she's playable or a boss you fight twice. You also see Orko, but in a way that makes it impossible to tell if he's being played alongside Teela and summons Granamyr as Golden Axe magic, or they're both Teela's summon.
>>11535341I think the only reason we havent gotten more niche crossovers is because of how much Rulers underperformed. I still see Sun-Men at Ross. Short of Pig-head just about all the rulers were peg warmers. That might have been enough to sour mattel on the idea altogether. ToG selling so well likely reinforced the choice to pursue recognizable IP aswell. Likewise it probably put the kibosh on any chances Fuerza T might have had. Also, would you want a MOTU × Micronauts crossover realized in 5.5. fashion or vintage Microman style?
>>11535344>>11535353Honestly I want to see how niche or experimental some anon suggestions can get. I previously suggested Warhammer and I still think that'd be awesome..
>>11535385New Adventures and Laser Light Skellys mostly
>>11535418thank you, the Slush Head looks great. A shame that skeletor is sold out and the He-man was target exclusive.
>>11535403They look like Serpentoids from "Like Father, Like Daughter"
>>11535305>I know we got each turtle twice with the Tmnt ones but they were better spaced outStill pissed Mikey never got one with a bare torso to make a stripped down Turtle.>>11535367>It's not even spacing out, Wave 3 appears to be 100% repaints.Panthor I get, the others not so much. Jackyl could have just been a new head with existing parts otherwise.>>11535355>So, early backers get the Slither lady figure, new backers won't? Wow, way to get more people on board now!Doesn't help stupid places like >>11534387 were saying it was only the tail part gone
>>11535367that does sound right but also weird. You can't tell me that normies buy the 5th Skeletor and the 8th He-man just because he got a slightly different armor or color. Their entire buisness model is based on at least 60% nerds and nostalgia. At least from my outside perspective.
>>11535303How does that crowdfounding stuff work? Do you back it up with what Hasbro think it would sell for and if it gets fully backed you get the toy or do you just give them money and if they make it you're allowed to buy it?
>>11535476The former Basically, the company says "this is product, it'll cost x-amount of dollars, and if we reach this minimum number of backers agreeing to buy, it will go into production and all backers get the toy"But they only make enough for said backers, so if you never back, you get nothing if you don't buy second hand. And if they don't reach the minimum number of backers, they just don't make the toy at all and no one gets it. (In this scenario, backers are not actually charged the cost)
>>11535303Seems fine. What are you whining about?
>>11534549>>11534553>>11534554It says there are 12 stages.Skeletor is presumably the final boss.We see Beast Man, Evil-Lyn and Shokoti. What other 8 Evil Warriors or vehicles would make the most interesting fights? My favorite suggestions:Trap Jaw changing his armMer-Man can be in the water and you can't, popping out unpredictably to attackScare GlowBlast-AttakWebstor and Kobra Khan fighting togetherI'd say give a vehicle boss fight to Tri-Klops, since he's obligatory but not a very interesting fighter
>>11535697Sauce is Foreternia (they're apparently calling themselves He-Mania.com now?)So you can check off Trap Jaw
>>11535697>>11535705>What other 8 Evil Warriors or vehicles would make the most interesting fights?I forgot to actually answer the questionIf they're basing the whole game on Filmation, I'd guess the 7 unconfirmed bosses would be Mer-Man, Tri-klops, Clawful, Whiplash, Spikor, Webstor and Kobra KhanNot the most fun choices, but it's what I expect
>>11534945shame for the shitty articulation
... oh, I forgot Stinkor filling the battlefield with stink clouds. That'd make 11, and I'm not sure if Whiplash or Twistoid sounded more interesting.Ninjor making copies of himself sounds great, but I'm hoping that will be Skeletor's gimmick as final boss, like Shredder in TMNT Arcade or the Venom fight after Doctor Doom in Spider-Man Arcade. My dream for a MotU beat 'em up has always been that he'd copy himself into original Skeletor, Battle Armor Skeletor, Dragon Blaster Skeletor and Terror Claws Skeletor.
All road to the championship belt lead through Eternia
Low key, this guy would make an awesome boss fight>stretch arm from across room to punch He-Man>close quarters grab He-Man in giant hand to bash him Hulk style on ground >stretch arm upwards to grip offscreen rafters to swing Tarzan style around room to kick He-Man>pound ground to stun He-Man with tremors
>>11535726Man imagine if WWE still did those WCW styled crossover events and had some no name wrestlers portray He-Man and Skeletor in a modern ring event.

Skell-Ra Mumm-Ra is pretty cool. It's a shame they're not making a base Mumm-Ra figure, the only other figures in this crossover line I'll get are probably Battle-Cat and the inevitable Panthor.
>>11535908has there been any confirmation of the mutants? I'd miss those guys more than I would the twins desu. Monster men are the bread and butter of MOTU!

I'll say one positive thing about the crossovers - most of time Origins does existing toys, existing character designs and OCs that exist to reuse as much tooling as possible. You dont get say CC Clawful with swappable giant pincer or cool new crab weapon.Crossovers are about the only time designers get to be creative with designs and features.I mean, it's also reason New Eternia is most popular MV subline. Because they have freedom to do their own ideas.
>>11535443>They look like Serpentoids from "Like Father, Like Daughter"Thanks, that's exactly it.
Torg
Look who seems to be the fourth playable character we couldn't figure out from the trailer!
>>11535705Oh, he looks cool.Surprised it's not Filmation design, everyone who has one seems to use it.
I've heard a few times now that in the origins line some of the female knees are supposed to be really bad but I do not see the difference between the new Cartoon Teela and the older female figures. Or was just the first ever release bugged?
>>11535730You're so right. My dream boss fight for a MotU beat 'em up has always been Modulok, Multi-Bot, then both like Rocksteady & Bebop in TMNT Arcade, combining into a mega-monster.Modulok would start in his ten-limbed form and lose a pair of legs, thorax and head as he takes damage. They'd put themselves together into a little monster that comes and kicks you like Krang. Then the larger body would lose another pair of legs and a pair of arms, becoming a humanoid that shoots you while the second body becomes a hexapod with a gun.Multi-Bot would get split in half as he takes damage and fight as a humanoid + a centaur, then detach an angry set of legs to kick you while fighting two humanoids.
>>11536073First release Teela, Evil-Lyn and pack-in Sorceress with Castle Grayskull all had bugged knees. I own them. At least one anon kept re-buying Teela and Yellow-Lyn to get them right.
>>11536067Between that and the Skeleton Warrior inclusion I'm really hoping this game isn't primarily just a Filmation circle jerk and we get other bosses, locations, and mobs from the vintage line, Origins, and other sources.
>>11536080Mightve been me, but I only had to keep rebuying Lyn I lucked out with Teela and got the good version first try, but then I also didn't buy any Teela at all until 2 or 3 years into Origins so more revised stock was probably on the market
>>11535910Wave 3 is nothing but repaints. There will not be a wave 4!

>>11536081>Between that and the Skeleton Warrior inclusion I'm really hoping this game isn't primarily just a Filmation circle jerk and we get other bosses, locations, and mobs from the vintage line, Origins, and other sources. In the trailer, when the vintage action figures start watching the trailer on a TV, it looks like Skeletor, Evil-Lyn and Kobra Khan are raising Central Tower from underground.Stinkor and 1987 Evil Warrior bosses would definitely make me happy. And hopefully final boss Skeletor is a lot more interesting than just fighting his Filmation design. It kind of looks like each Evil Warrior controls a signature mob (Trap Jaw = Hover Robots, Evil-Lyn = Skeleton Warriors, Beast Man = Shadow Beasts, Shokoti = Darklings), so we might get Skelcons with Skeletor.
>>11536104I never noticed that in the trailer, but you're right. That's definitely Central Tower and Kobra Khan
do you think we will get an Origins Skelcon
>>11536110A couple years ago I would've said definitelyBut in the last year or so it feels like there's so little space to fit anything in. Retail is basically all given over the theme-of-the-yearOn MC, they're juggling vintage, non-vintage, Club Grayskull, Cartoon Collection and Masterverse that they'd have fight for space on somewhereEven retailer exclusives, Target right now is doing just Sketchbook variants and we don't know if that'll change and other types of Exclusives like Amazon or bbts exclusives feel so infrequent that if they're not already planned, we could be waiting years if the line lasts that long

The Snake Lair is now 28 away from funding. Does anyone want to explain to me why some people come in (admittedly very slowly) AFTER the "early bird" bonus has passed? I don't really see why anyone interested in this set wouldn't back it immediately, when no one is being charged until the final day (assuming it funds). Why wait?

Then one day she'd find Adam and calling on the Honor of Grayskull would give him a white tunic and Marvel Thor helmet?
I'm genuinely annoyed I never saw this at retail, I love this design for Hordak, with the whole Count Orlok thing going on. It creates a nice counter balance to Skeletor being buff. You think we'll ever get a Masterverse verson?

Question for you guys.He-Man rode Battle Cat and Strider.Skeletor rode Panthor and Night Stalker.Hordak has Mantisaur.She-Ra has Swiftwind.Catra has Clawdeen. So all the main big guys in the franchise get beasts to ride. But what about King Hiss?
>>11536935King Hiss actually rode a Tyrannosaurus rex.
>>11536938I fucking hate the snakes but give them the dinos, yeah, thats always been a fun match. Dinosaurs for the lizard people, mammals for the men, now we just need the horde to have some more bugs.
>>11536935>But what about King Hiss? The upcoming two headed Snorse! Also Tyrantisaurus Rex.

>>11536751>Complaining about 5POA, In a MOTU thread
>>11536989Not that guy but I think its fair to want different articulation for a new reimagining and not retro dudes.
>>11536421>Then one day she'd find Adam and calling on the Honor of Grayskull would give him a white tunic and Marvel Thor helmet? She'd probably look like the concept(?) Teela in metal bikini. And I'm not a coomer I swear but Heman would have a harem which would be hilarious.
>>11536980>Why would you back it at this point? No skelton Queen, no Priest Snek. Not everyone is into Axel's OC's, so if they can't be bothered with the trouble of selling the Snek Queen on eBay they might as well wait until later in the month.
>>11537028And that's fine, after all I'm sure that's a big part of why Origins has done so well. I just think it's a bit silly scoffing at 5POA when that is the foundation of the whole franchise. But that's also why I thought it would be good to have a Masterverse figure of him.I don't think the line being 5POA is what hindered the CG series toyline, I think it being released at the height of Covid when retailers were shut down or distribution was fucked up. So kids couldn't walk into a store and see the new figures on the shelves. It also probably didn't help that they over-stuffed the first wave with a bunch of He-Man variants.
I haven't bought a Heman figure in ages but I think they're going to get me back with 200x. Also cat man battle cat from thundercats maybe.
From all figures so far released, which ones feel like they could be part of the vintage?
>>11537124Frog Monger, Slither and Stingor feel the most vintage to me, and I can see potential gimmicks for them which is a requisite to be vintageVypor, Fagnor, and the Skeleton Warriors all look too "serious business" in their face sculpts to be vintage, where everyone including villains had a cartoony, not-that-threatening softness to them. That applies to Despara 's mask too. Compare that to vintage Hordak's face...it's like she's meant to go with 200x Hordak that doesn't exist.Reptilax I'm kinda mixed on because of his tail being so goddamn big and intrusive. That's not how vintage did tails on reptile men. And I can't envision a gimmick because he's TOO generic. At least nothing beyond the waist twist or arm swinging like Blade did
I just got hit by an idea. Maybe it's stupid, but hear me out:Wrap Trap reusing Skeleton Warrior buck>New head, new trunks and new hands and boots still required>But the rest is armor overlay on torso and man-at-arms style bandage overlays for arms and legs with the require gaps to show the bones underneath, replicating Wrap Traps gimmick of seeing bits of what's beneath his bandages
>>11537147Maybe they could even make the bandages on his head a removable helmet or mask and underneath he has a face like the flesh peeling Hordesman for a fun Easter egg, and Wrap Traps whole thing could be going from bandaged mummy to completely uncovered skeletal monster if you take all the bandage armor bits off his arms legs and torso
>>11536655Good! More playsets the merrier.
>>11537153>Cover a robot with synthetic flesh, like The Terninator>Have the muscleman wear Horde symbols so your enemies are alerted anywayInteresting design
These snakes are better than Axel snakes.
>>11537177>robotI've always seen it as more like the creature from The Creeping Flesh
Snake horse appreciators won. Pythonus lost.
>>11537202I'm upset that this funded, but at least it barely scraped by.
>>11537207I don't care for playsets in general, is a hard sell with my limit storage/display space, I don't even own castle grayskull. I'm all down for new figures tho, some of their new/original figures are great.
>>11537190Ah, I see it now.
You can tell the Horde wasn't based on movie monsters because then Rebel dolls in the Princess of Power line would have looked like the women they all carry.
>>11537032>Snek Queen on eBayThat'll be $150 snek bucks please.
>>11529361Shame we don't get Pythonus. As a snake enjoyer I've been waiting on a figure of him along with red cobra guy. Maybe he and Keklar will eventually get the CGS single release like Hero and Sharrela.
>>11537207Silverlining, it backed but at least that means that they'll have at least just enough confidence to do another crowd fund, if we're lucky something we (we as in people that don't give a shit about Axelsnakes) will actually like.
Opinion: I want more glow in the dark
For a Preternia/Dino-Riders mashup, which MotU bug race should correspond to the antmen? For the rest, humans = humans, cobras and croc Rulons = Snake Men, Krulos = Frog Monger, those fish heads that aren't hammerhead sharks = Aquaticans and the hammerhead sharks can stay that.
>>11537416What if the next crowd fund is a new playset that is 100% gitd?
>>11537366They already said he's unlikely to release if he doesn't get funded here just like the previous figure.
>>11537426Yea, but Pythonus has the Snake buff and they already spent money on the head mold and chest mold. It'd be stupid if they didn't release him in some form.
>>11537426And from their side of things, what's their incentive to do so?Keclar and Pythonus job was to get more sales for the crowd fund.If they give them to fans anyway, then fans know that they don't actually need to fund these campaigns in the first place and they WON'T. Mattel isn't gonna kneecap it's next planned project just because people stamp their foot and say "I want", not for characters so inconsequential
>>11537429The head mold was already used (without the crown) in Pit Warden. The chest looks to be ToG Clamp Champ. So they've already used them.
This whole crowd fund idea seems like it'd make the most sense to me if:>no early bird deals, any such figure or part is just part of the base offering>any tier bonuses are announced to be released at some point in the future as well as included in their crowdfund, incentizing supporting the crowdfund to get the figure for """free""" while leaving it on the table for buyers who aren't interested in the crowdfund or if the tier is not reachedBut what do I know
MotU x Dino-Riders sets:Gigantisaurus has gear based on the Brontosaurus (rather than Diplodocus) and Mega Construx-type figures of Sharella (equivalent to Serena), Eldor (Mind-Zei) and some leadery human who's not He-Ro (Questar).Tyrantisaurus has King Hiss, Krulos/Frog Monger and Tung LashorHeroic Bionatops has He-Man and King Grayskull (black)Evil Bionotops with Rattlor and HammerheadTurbodactyl with He-RoKentrosaurus with Sssqueeze (Krok) and Snake FaceAdd more evil dinosaurs for more Snake Men to taste
The snake lair funds, but we lost kingcobrajfs in the process. TMDNWU Eternia :(
>>11537420I don't pre order
>>11537454Close. You do:>Early Bird repaint of one of the existing pieces first.Say the Bone tail in green with skirt to place on a male buck Snake Man (King Hiss, Pythonus, what have you)>Bonus items unlocked with full set (making the price equal value to the offering instead of shit like this right now) come with Dlx paintjobs, included free if unlocked. 2 year minimum wait after shipping for the possibility of a retail version. This means there might be a 3 year wait to buy it outside of the fundraiser and with less painted details. It would be stupid to hold out for something if you really want it
>>11537134>can see potential gimmicks for them which is a requisite to be vintageHow would you give gimmick to all gimmickless characters like Hordak or Beast Man?
>>11537490Beast Man hails from the "everyone has the same waist twist gimmick" first year era, so I don't think we need anything additional anymore that we need additional gimmicks for Mer Man or ZodacHordak got his gimmicks via variants same way He-Man and Skeletor did so he also doesn't need an additional gimmick beyond waist twist.
>>11537484>It would be stupid to hold out for something if you really want itNah, spending £335 on a playset you don't want or have room for in order to get single action figure that's gonna go on retail sale anyway would be stupid. To be fair though, it's also dumb to spend £335 on a playset you don't want or have room for in order to get single action figure that ISN'T gonna go on retail sale.
>>11537498It's the possibility it might get re-issued. Some do spend the money to get something and sell the rest. The Joe community is full of people that wanted the figures OR the vehicle, but not both so they buy in the flip the rest
>>11537490>>11537497Teela never had a gimmick.Apparently Evil-Lyn's wand was GitD.Gwildor would also have no gimmick if a kid lost his Cosmic Key.Whiplash's only gimmick was hitting you with a rubber tail via the spring-loaded waist. New torso shared with Buzz-Off meant the latter also had the basic "first year" gimmick. And it's funny to realize that Grizzlor's action feature was rooted hair like a doll.
Do other anons prefer the original mini comic style where they were like picture books, or the more standard comic book style of later editions?Personally I think I prefer the picture book style, I think it allowed the artist (in this case Alcala) a chance to do just one single dynamic image, rather than trying to format the art to a comic style. This isn't a comparison of the artist styles specifically, as various artists worked on the books and their individual style varied greatly, just a comparison of the specific formatting.
>>11537513Alternatively there are the audio-cassette books. Also fun fact, if you have the mini comic collection (or even the original book) and don't have the cassette or a way to play it, this story is available on YouTube. It's fun to read along with the original cast doing the voices.
>>11537436Yes that's what I said. No way Mattel would use those unique molds as one offs. Pythonus would be relatively cheap to release as a standalone.

Cover and synopsis for Sword of Flaws issue 3>After their confrontation with the ancient god Procrustus, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe push onward in their search. The ancient purple sword is mightier and more dangerous than they had realized, and they must do everything in their power to keep it out of Skeletor’s blue bony hands. Meanwhile, the Sorceress and Orko travel through time, all the way back to Preternia, in the hopes of discovering the origins of the violet blade.I get the feeling this whole comic is just a retcon explanation for why Skeletor has a purple power sword since "power sword split in two" was abandoned after the first minicomics
>>11537646Power Sword split in two was used again in Revelation, though. Half was made by Trollans and given to King Grayskull, but he didn't consider it good enough because it couldn't damage the pink tentacle from the Castle Grayskull sticker, so he went and got literal hell metal from Scare Glow and they got forged together.
>>11537653That doesn't mean that this comic isn't a different retcon. Revelation wasn't some new, permanent, immutable new canonAll the synopses are putting emphasis on a purple sword that Skeletor wants and issue 1s cover shows a purple power sword.

The mosquitra has a spring to give her pecking/sucking action.Respectfully, critics can go fuck themselves by taking some highly articulated slop and shoving it up their ass.

>>11537802With how slow the numbers have creeped though, do you really expect the final push to be almost 2000 new backers? Because I can't see it. 500 or 600 maybe...hell even 1000 at an outside chance, but 2000? Naw. Pythonus is cooked
>>11537863I've seen Kickstarters that crawled and then doubled their total in the last two days, so it's not out of the question. >>11538458Seeing Spector show up in this image has made me realise what it must feel like for the X-Men when Deadpool starts hanging around the mansion. God fucking damn I hate that character. >>11538499>>11538502It might be a region thing, because my local toy store here in Aus had Cheetara and Battle Cat-Man almost two months before Lion-O and they told me the characters came with one character per box.
>>11538478>Is Beast Lord basically just a Beastman ancestor? As far as I can tell, yes. Scott may have posted a more elaborate description on the he-man.org forums when fans first received this minicomic and asked WTF, but if so that's long lost.
Sometimes there's a whole race of Beast Men. Classics made Gygor their lord after Skeletor's Beast Man was exiled from the Vine Jungle by the 200X Mystic Wall.

Because Mattel does offer a solid case of just 1 type of figure which means that got a solid case of BCM and a solid case of Cheetara. Hasbro often sells figures to Target this way now for Marvel Legends. There were solid cases stocked of Miles Morales Spider-Man and Ultimate Iron Man on dedicated DCPI pegs for those characters. It's what they do if they don't believe the whole case will sell or that there will be more demand for certain characters.

>>11538815Then I'll keep talking about them.Snake Mountain is my favorite. Having a playable front besides the spacious floors inside just blows away the versions for full-size figures.
>>11539035What an odd thing to say.
>>11538670>Early minicomics said that Castle Grayskull was built by ancient scientists, and Talon Fighter was also a space warp device from that era>Also, all the dinosaurs are cyborgs>He-Ro looks like a Hi-Tech wizardThis is an interesting point. In the Powers of Grayskull minicomic, they remind us that Preternia is when the Three Towers are from. So they had the technology to build monorails. The humans King Hiss attacks aren't particularly advanced, but they have normal houses and iron farm tools rather than being cavemen.
Looking at the box art, the dinosaurs just show each one with a rider in a barren wilderness. The giants, though, show a medieval environment.
Note on Megator's art that He-Ro is defending a dude with a horse and cart (what happened to cyborg dinosaurs?) and the archer eventually identified as Sharella IS a cavegirl.
>>11538788How does Orko's scarf look like on a standard Origins buck?
It looks like if He-Ro had gotten a Filmation cartoon, the whole environment would have been consistent with the dinosaurs, with this techno-forest.(The girl with short green hair next to him is called "Kara, a member of the desert nomad Road Tribe" in Lou Scheimer's autobiography.)
Scheimer called the unmade show "Hero in the Land of Legend".The villain with robot legs and a propellor tail was called Horrorsaur.
>>11539099Tung Lashor is my spirit animal.
>>11538670>Maybe Preternia should be MORE advanced than EterniaDefinitely was my headcanon back then.
>>11539119>Horrorsaur There's an unproduced concept character with that name Are these unrelated and just coincidentally have the same name? Because if not...ooof, wtf did you do to him, Scheimer?
>>11539116that's a nice pic
>>11538725>Are you sure they didn't mean solid case single character?Sorry, that is what I meant. Like a whole box of figures but it's just the one character.
>>11538697Cause when you're assuming you're making an ASS out of U and MING!
>>11538615No, firstly because I have no interest in propagating that shit, and secondly, because Mattel does have some history with stealing fan designs and releasing it as official product, I don't want to run the risk of Mattel seeing a version of Neitlich's shitty donut steal and increasing its profile.
>>11539140Epaulettes, bracers with oval studs, a tail, cybernetic legs... looks like the same character to me. Main differences on the Scheimer version are a propeller on the tail and face being shortened from a dinosaur muzzle into something that could be what Hordak's head looked like before cybernetics (or before he died, in the bony toy/mini-comics looks).Main thing that would make me think it's a coincidence would be if the sketch has a date and it's too early to have anything to do with He-Ro.
>>11539178The sketch does have a date, it's in the corner but it's a little too blurry to make outYou can see Ted Mayers signature, then what I think says "(c) Mattel" and the first number might be 8 for August, but the day and year I can't make out. Then below that it says "Horrorsaur"
>>11539165NO ONE makes an ASS of MING
Someone here will probably know and can answer this question:I was browsing around for MotU art and found this Who or what is the little trash can robot next to Ram-Man?
>>11539189Ah, thanks. The Road Tribe. These guys seem to be 100% Filmation. The character "Kara" lived with them and would get powered up into "Leadra" in the same cave as He-Ro. Clearly the She-Ra of his time, but I would guess intended as a love interest, not sister. Some if not all of them are apes, and it would sure be a lot more interesting to see Beast Man's ancestors with tech gear and Mad Max vehicles than "a heroic version of the exact same design lived thousands of years ago."
You can tell from Bravestarr that after getting to do romance on She-Ra, the Filmation writers never wanted to be stuck writing a boys' toy cartoon as chaste as He-Man again.(Mattel's 1987 style guide entry for He-Ro mentioned Sharella's existence, but she's described maternally.)
This girl with long brown hair is probably the same as >>11539116 with the green pixie cut, but even James Eatock who got ahold of this series bible wasn't sure which was Kara and which the powered-up Leadra.
>>11539198>that version of Ming was voiced by Alan Oppenheimer>his daughter is a sexier Teela speaking with She-Ra's voiceSo Skeletor's just an unsuccessful version of Ming?
>>11539217Isn’t that the R2 type robot they were going to put in the 87 movie? I think there was a sketch with the Stout designs.
>>11539168I will always remember that Anon who came up with a Space Invaders movie idea and a few years later Pixels was released. They even mentioned 4chan in that travesty of a movie, adding insult to injury.
>>11538605I think with these we will for sure get the Great Black Wizard and Red Shadow. Axel has mentioned sending in his MOTUC custom of him to Mattel to be scanned. The others have so many available parts it would be easy to make. I’m pushing for Bandwith. He’d fit in with that more technological era for Preternia and his head reminds me of Combattra from Shogun Warriors.
>>11539256He-Man, Ram Man, Tytus and unused movie robot has to be the most unusual team of heroes. What would an Evil Warriors version look like?
>>11539082I got mine! I will be building it in October to celebrate the holiday. Maybe someday I'll get the castle too.
>>11539266>What would an Evil Warriors version look like?Skeletor, Two-Bad, Megator, and Pig Boy.
>>11539099I resolve this by just assuming MOTU has dozens of breakaway societies that are all at various stages of technology. So someone did build these things, and probably was a higher target for the Horde to wipe out, and Randor's kingdom is probably the first to really start unifying Eternia under one banner and enforce proper law.Meanwhile, the snakemen were attacking an easy group to get a decent meal...
>>11538605I like Fangor, and the Great Black Wizard (as an independent, completely unrelated to Skeletor guy that's simply a skeleton wizard).
So here's what we've seen of Preternia in Origins.
Note the Spirit of Grayskull from the earliest mini-comics predating Castle Grayskull. Was it the Spirit of Grayskull Tower, and moved after the ancient wizards/scientists created the latter?
The first people we see He-Ro interact with, besides Eldor (and Sharella, as we'll see next) are the Great Black Wizard and Draego-Man.GBW has his own playset, the Ebon Fortress, and a horse, Dread Horn, instead of a dinosaur.
As I said, I hate that Moss Man is this old. It means the only way for He-Man to NOT know something significant from the past before it pops up is if he never listens to Moss Man telling his life story.
>>11539113It won't fit past the barbell because the inner hole of the scarf is very small to allow barbell to reach the joint socket in the Orko eyes.
>>11539371fuckguess I need to go back to figuring out how to make a new scarf then
Looks like Beast Man's ancestors were around.
Great Black Wizard again. Active when He-Ro was an infant, the new canon sets him up as the villain both He-Ro and Sharella have personal enmity for. Fighting King Hiss would merely be a matter of duty. And where is King Hiss, anyway?
>>11539256Ok, cool. Never heard of it before so I googled it to find a picWhat the hell is up with that He-Man pose?

>>11539099>>11539309All this talk of Preternia and POG take me back to the days where seeing this new story come out melted my 10-11 year old brain. I had got the dinos and that mini comic but then disappointment as it never came out. Later as an adult I started to collect MOTU again and had my mind blown again seeing the Giants having no clue they existed. Then going online and finding about He-Ro and the 88 list wave. Damn it feels like we’re coming full circle again. It seems this Preternia is sticking close to the original Mattel pitches versus adding in the Classics bio nonsense. One thing I did like was the techno virus infecting the dinos. So far it seems like it’s the Snakes as the main enemy with maybe some one off small tribe bad guys like GBW. We’re probably stuck with Blackskull who has the Power Sword and his sorceress type wife Osiris but maybe it’s not that bad. The white Castle Grayskull with that border was on box art so maybe we’ll see another repaint. They could still bring the Horde in but it will be fun to finally see a lot of this realized. I do like Josh’s writing in the mini comics. Looks like a lush jungle environment with maybe some technology mixed in as part of the various villages and cities.
>>11539536>>11539538
>>11539430That just seems to be how McQuarrie poses his drawings. I think he must have been using clothing catalogues as reference because his poses are either "heroic" or they look like that He-Man, where if he was posing for a 70s swimwear catalogue and carrying a parasol and a towel it wouldn't look out of place. 70s fashion catalogues have some really wild poses that look like someone trying to act casual while tensing their entire body.
>>11538670>Maybe Preternia should be MORE advanced than EterniaSo basically the problem is insisting the King Grayskull 200X episode took place in Preternia. He's exactly as primitive as the earliest mini-comic He-Man and the other characters invented for that episode are pure Sword & Sorcery without technology, going as far as making his Battle Cat a sabretooth cat for "lost cities of the Pleistocene" vibes. And there were no dinosaurs, cybernetic or otherwise. The easy solution would be to say he found Castle Grayskull some time after the Elders/five good wizards died creating it, and named himself after the place or Spirit.
Did any of the 80s picture books show the Hall of Wisdom (which used to stand at the site of Castle Grayskull according to some sources) and what Eternia looked like then?

Wonder if the game's success will make Mattel consider greenlighting a new Street Sharks game. Then again a SS one would actually be difficult to do given it would need to give players a sense like they're controlling a hulking shark-man (Even Streex would be a tank) to the point it may have to be 3D with gameplay akin to Dawn of The Monsters or Double Dragon Neon.Honestly even as a 90s kid, I think MOTU was the better option due to being easier to pull off and more material to use.
>>11539573>It seems this Preternia is sticking close to the original Mattel pitches versus adding in the Classics bio nonsense.Thank goodness.>We’re probably stuck with Blackskull who has the Power Sword and his sorceress type wife Osiris but maybe it’s not that bad.King Grayskull is a mess conceptually. As I said at >>11539704 , the original blond version only makes sense after He-Ro is dead and dinosaurs extinct. There's nothing inherently wrong with He-Man having a black ancestor 2,000 years ago who wielded the Power Sword. But because he's the original design blackwashed, he's exactly as much a pure Sword & Sorcery barbarian. The only thing Preternian about him is having him ride a Bionatops. It also bugs me how unclear the timeline is. The order of events in "The Ultimate Battleground" was:Elders sink the Three TowersThey banish King Hiss and most of the Snake Men to a timeless dimensionAnd last they died creating Castle Grayskull/merged into the Spirit of Grayskull (as seen in sources referencing a passage of the Halperin bible)So they shouldn't say he and his queen lived in Castle Grayskull. Grayskull Tower would make sense (it has to be named after somebody, right?).

>>11540334That is hands down the worst art in any of the new mini comics. And it was kind of an important comic as well. I ran into the sole writer of these new minis at SDCC. He wasn’t there in official capacity but was just hanging out at the Mattel booth for a bit. He’s actually pretty cool, he wrote for Marvel before it went to shit and also writes a lot of sci fi and stuff for Heavy Metal. I told him point blank he’s had some great comics but every time the artist ruins it with shit art. He said there were trying to get a consistent artist but there’s a lot with the comics including harsh deadlines and small budgets. It’s kind of funny, black King Grayskull living in a white marble Castle Grayskull. I wonder if they’ll ever interpret the Grayskull Tower as a white marble version as well. I was also thinking about if and when they get to the Dinos we would get a different good/evil repaint version as well. Turbodactyl started out as an evil blue version called Terrordactyl. Tyrantisarus had a green version called Warsaurus. I can’t remember what Bionatops recolor was called.
Wait, why did I already get charged for the Snake Lair which has like a week left? Not pending as that one fell off a few days after pledging. Today they just went ahead and charged me for the full thing.
>>11540777>Oh, they desperate to get those numbers up.>>11540843>It only needs 1900 more... lolIf they'd bothered to fix whatever error caused the large discrepancy in the currency conversion for international customers they would of had more backers. More than one of us has tried to make them aware.
>>11541179kek awesome pic anon, I love Moss Man's "it's all good" thumbs up as he carried away by a bionic pterodactyl into the sunset.
>>11541439It's not a currency conversion error, it's padding for changes in currency in the future and tariffs.
>>11541460Like the $300 price tag wasn't already padding for muh tariffs.
>>11541460>it's padding for changes in currency in the future and tariffs.Tariffs affect American imports not shipping to other countries. If the extra charge for international customers is to offset Tariffs then American customers should have been charged the same added fee.
Variant covers for Sword of Flaws
What is up with that Fisto?
And they're doing a T-shirt and puzzle too. I don't recall any other comics doing that...not MotU comics anyway

>>11541574Why would King Hiss disguise himself as someone so ugly?
>>11540334>>11540345>Goodness gracious, that art is so bad.It reminds me of those low budget comics from companies that don't really care about comics. Like when they do adaptations of old Nancy Drew stories or Babysitters Club books, or even sometimes when a kid is supposed to be super into comic books in a movie but they don't want to pay the license for a real book so they hire someone to make one for the movie and the anatomy is way over-the-top and the colours are really garish.
