>Sector Germania VI, supply dump Fetterman>approximately 7 hours after last contact
>>11531090>"Alright you apes, spread out and secure a perimeter, check all the buildings and for frax'xes sake watch where you step! Could be nasty surprises anywhere"
>>11531091>"Fug man what a carnage... looks like these poor bastards didn't even get a chance to fight back against... whoever did this shyte, gives me the spooks"
>>11531094>"Cover me Rawlins, gonna check them huts there for any survivors""Lost cause I tell ya, not a soul left living in this place"
>>11531096>"Bocage Base, this is Reno. Have arrived supply dump Fetterman, garrison all KIA, attackers unknown""Reno, Bocage, understood. Conduct a search and attempt to ascertain who is responsible and why">"Roger Bocage, will report back in ten mikes. Out"
>>11531101>"This just ain't right man, these guys all been shot in the back from the looks of it but no way they coulda been taken by surprise like that, not even the damn Greys are this good"
>>11531105"Sir we've checked the tents, none alive over there. Just more bodies...">"Frax it! Thank you Corporal, have your squad check them for any clues as to who did this.""Very strange sir, the supplies have been looted but other than the rear watchtowers the base is pretty much intact. Tans or Greys would've flattened the hell out of it">"I know son, we will get to the bottom of this. Now move out!"
>>11531107>"Well fug Rawlins, you were right 'bout any hope of someone still living 'ere. Guess we better form up with the squad for ord-""Hey shut it Billings! Thought I heard somethin' over here behind them trucks."
>>11531110"By all that's holy we got a live one here! Bit banged up but nothin' critical. Hey buddy, you with us here? Talk to me man!">*coughs* "Aw fugg am I glad to see you guys... *cough cough* My head hurts like the devil""Take it easy buddy, you're in good hands and we'll have a medic with you right away. Billings! Get the Cap'n and the sawbones here quick, this guy can tell us what the fuxx happened"
>to be continued
Every year between August and November, Dollar General carries these guys. From my experience, they tend to sell out quick
>>11531366Checked and I've bought a few to go with my pirate and corsair figures, going for either a PotC or Sinbad vibe. Supernatural versus sea dogs and so forth.
>>11531366Would love to get some of those guys but unfortunately no Dollar Generals up here; Dollar Tree has had these zombies in the past but not in years, no army men at all for a couple years now even.
>>11531985Toy theme?https://youtu.be/aX8Ol2QYlUE?si=r4NYCw8J5G2P6URx
Is easy enough to leave a lot off-screen but one should at least give a nod to real-world logistical realities once in a while>for every tank on the battlefield there's a tank carrier to drive it there
Are there glow in the dark Army Men?
>>11537650Don't have any myself but I've seen a few online, typically fantasy or sci-fi themed.
I just found this on my hard drive. Crazy. It actually could be fun. Also, I don't know when this was made but 11 bucks? Yes please.
>>11539063Would be a fun set, looks like it's averaging 100 burgers on ebay though,
>>11539063Those are neat
>>11539063I remember some family friends who were Sunday School teachers having this set when I was a kid, which had me personally thinking of all the potential Biblical or Ancient figurines that would work for anything from the Hyborian Age to historical settings. Too bad it averages 30 to 120 dollars in resale value, depending on the condition.
>>11540457 Lordy.. dat's some markup. All I want are some cave man type figures (not neanderthals. although cave men v neanderthals would be cool.) Or some Vikings..that cost less than $25-30 for more than 10 of the fuckers.
>>11531120update?
>>11541590Hopefully tomorrow, been ailing and working

>>11543505*loud straining brakes noises*
>>11543508>"Hey what you hear from your cousin in Intelligence, anythin' new in the pipe for us?""Hah that punk barely talks to me these days, got some bee in his bonnet over something or rather. Whole lotta nothin' tho little hints here and there about an op, to do with a dead man or some weird thing like that">"Dead man huh, could mean all kinds of stuff"
>>11543514>"What in tardation are you numbskulls doin', parking this idiot thing across the gateway!"
>>11543515>"Oh hi there guys, running a bit early this week aren't ya. We'll have your order ready pronto, and would you like fries with that? Haw haw haw"
>>11543518*BOOM**CRASH*
>>11543520>"What the fu... you damned fool knuckleheads! What in all that is holy do you think yer' doin' coming into an ammo dump with a loaded gun, freaking accident waiting to happen! That poor bastard in the tower... Git your ass out here and 'splain yourself!"
>>11543524>"Sergeant what the actual hell just happened over there?"

>>11543558>"Oh frick grenade! Hit the dir-"*BLAM*
>>11543563*cliché high-pitched whine in ears after close proximity detonation**thudding of many pairs of combat boots*
>>11543571*sharp orders barked in guttural dialect*

>>11543608>epilogue>excerpts from special briefing by General Zizka to division commanders, Germania sectors>"Gentlemen, the Purple Army, or Forgotten Army as they seem to call themselves, is best described as a random chaotic force. A force that can strike without warning, anywhere at anytime.
>>11543614>"Intelligence on the Purple Army is scant. From what little we have gleaned, their ranks are comprised of deserters from the Grey Hegemony and the Blues, coalescing into a fighting force of nomads, with no known fixed bases or strongholds, no territorial claims, no diplomatic relations of any kind with any faction.
>>11543618>"Their entire existence appears to revolve around survival, by any and all means necessary. With no industrial base they rely entirely on other factions for their provisions, their munitions, even their heavy weapons and vehicles. They are expert scavengers, zeroing in on vulnerable targets for their predations, carrying out any manner of trickery, stratagem or full-blown assault to take it for themselves.
>>11543622>"They do not discriminate in their choice of targets, other than preferring lightly defended outposts, convoys and the like. Every army has felt the sting of their raids and undertaken sweeping countermeasures to try and stamp out these brigands, with very rare success.
>>11543624>"The Purple Army is careful and methodical in every operation they carry out, leaving as little to chance as possible and accounting for every possibility. The raid on supply dump Fetterman was a textbook example: they knew our supply run schedule, overran a mobile artillery unit, commandeered their vehicles and simply took their place in the schedule.>"They are careful in what they take from their raids as well, ignoring munitions they have no use for or other equipment of otherwise military value, not even wasting time or resources to deny them to their victims. This is likely a calculated move, as one is bound to be more pragmatic if the total losses are limited to some bullets, grenades, gasoline and a handful of luckless GIs.
>>11543634>"All the same we cannot treat them lightly or give them the impression that we will tolerate their acts of piracy. This Forgotten Army takes no prisoners and only rarely leaves any survivors in the wake of their raids. To you I give the same instructions should you ever encounter these villains; with the Purples, it's kill or be killed.>"That is all.">end of briefing
>>11543634More of a muddy lavender
>>11543646 this is big
>>11543927My purple army is exclusively of a single kind, was trying to find a way to get them into the lore.
>>11543634Oh no way. I never see these purple German army men. These were my favorites as a kid. I only have maybe 3 or 4 survivors in my parents’ attic. I wish I knew what brand they were or where to purchase them. Saw them on eBay a while back and kind of regret not purchasing some reinforcements
>>11549053Never been able to find a brand for them either, or even any info or pictures of the sets I know they came in. My brother got them originally as part of a playset that included green British Paras for enemies (pic related), a nice green Abrams tank with rubber treads, green AH-64 Apache gunship and green Humvee, some purple sandbag bunkers and a big rock face fortress with a button to make combat sound effects.Still have most of it, just a few broken soldiers along the way and the machine gun went missing from the Humvee. Have managed to get more of the soldiers, bunkers and even the vehicles over the years from various second-hand sources but have had no luck with their origins.
>>11549058This was a thrift store find, had a few of the Brits, the Apache and Abrams. My brother's set was purchased overseas so it must've had a wide reach at one time, roughly the 90s to early 2000s. Have a vague recollection of there being a smaller bucket set at the same store which omitted the rock face fortress, had the soldiers but not sure what else of the accessories if any.
>>11549058Oh man yeah I had the exact same one. Maybe from the early or mid 90s>big rock face fortress with a button to make combat sound effects.Yeah. I can still hear the noise it made. It was like some ESL screaming “fire”, then machine gun fire then explosions. My parents were thrilled when the batteries finally wore out
>>11549063Haha that's exactly it! Ours is dead too, think the platform for the opening partway up the rock face is superglued in place too. Should dig it out sometime for a setup, been far too long (for the ol' parking garage too for that matter). One thing about the green Paras I always appreciated is that the manufacturer must've felt they were a little unbalanced for firepower and gave them the prone German machinegunner pose to even them up some - while also giving them all the vehicles and zero means for either side to realistically fight back against the Apache heh.
