>>11530525Man that Liber Knight looks like it's not worth for whatever Pbandai is charging. They could have at least made the whole knight chrome.
I want to tint these wings a see-through yellow or orange, is my only real option to doing that well an airbrush with lacquer clears, or could I use something like an artists soft tipped marker?I don't mind that the green and blue details will get muddy and brown, I mostly want to achieve a consistent finish.
>>11530542isn't that clear plastic harder to paint?
>>11530544Probably, particularly since clear plastic primer is rare as all hell.I don't mind if the paint is a bit delicate, I expect it not to last since "flexible" and "clear" aren't really achievable at the same time... at least not with my experience with water based acrylics.I'm mostly fishing for a way to get out of using an airbrush, truth be told.
>>11530542i remembered hexagear had a set of bug wings, but they say it's 5mm peg jointed.https://www.kotobukiya.co.jp/en/product/detail/p4934054042715/
>>11530556If you're ok with them being flat pieces of plastic, you can try cutting them from colored PVC sheets. those below 0,5mm thickness or so can be cut with scissors, and with a hole-punch for the holes. Some art supply shops have stock ones but you could also use folders like pic
>>11530556Airbrush will get you the best finish. Tamiya transparent enamels are a good medium for these effects, since they never cure, you may be able to carefully brush over the part. Just remove with enamel thinner if it looks bad.
Koto makes garage kits? I suppose that's one way to make niche products like Pbandai. https://figsoku.net/blog-entry-472760.html
>>11530542Yeah, best bet is airbrush. But get some practice getting a smooth coat, otherwise it'll come out frosted looking. >>11530570You could try to find a premade thin yellow sticker sheet/clear plastic and glue it on, but you gotta be careful with applying the glue/stickers to avoid bubbles.
>>11530532I believe they use pearl white for the armor instead of grey
>>11530532pretty cool custom build. Kinda makes me wish I had $500 to waste on 30MM panel kits and other stuff, to kit bash a Waruder mother ship
Goddamn these biker Acerbys are wicked cute.Feels like they really need a coat of paint, the orange plastic is really translucent. Mustn't be much pigment in it.
Zombietrack's front legs have this weird tab at the ball joint that prevents their full rotation.
>>11530525Excuse me?
am I doing this right
>>11531559Might be so the legs still have some support after they go loose and floopy

So this BMM or whatever line is dead huh? There weren't any followup at wonfes. Not that I'll miss it though I do wish they release the locust on its own for cheap so I can build a small squad.
>>1153310752T seems to like putting sub-lines on ice sometimes. I think they went nearly a year without any AMTS updates after the space team. Kinda annoying, but I guess it gives them freedom to try other things
Another box done, and it was a very pleasant building experience; very fast, too, compared to putting six legs together.

>>11533232Thought this was a Venom frog until I opened it
Finished the Acerby Type-D. At least, for now anyway.Feels like it needs an armoured skirt of some kind, and maybe sleeker antenna? I'll have to see what 30MM and 30MS kits might be up to the task.
The booster and railgun were both so easy that I could do them in one short session.I wish this entire thing was more complicated, honestly- like a bandai MG.
Opens up like a beetle butt.
Wasn't sure about the legs' stiffness, to be honest, but when they're working in concert it can hold itself up.
>>11534379I'm not really into hexagear, because the scale doesnt match my other bots. But I will admit, they make some pretty fucking cool kits
>>11534899I just swallowed the 1/24 pill and stopped caring. Not thrilled by their animal kits, but their suits and governors can look pretty great. I just love the para-pawn’s sad face.
>>11534899Some of their mechs look neutral enough to match other scales. Main problem I have with them is still the price, you could buy some Diaclone with that.
>>11534271The acerby type c includes an armored skirt. What did you use for the antenna?

impressive
>>11535049>>11535050probably the best looking one they've released but also looks like a pain in the ass to cube it. wish predator would get a new one, their active camo one sucks
>>11535040Ah, thanks for the heads up. The Type D/E have the same parts and they go unused, so I may give that arrangement a go.As for the antenna, they're from the Kotobukiya Mecha Supply 12 head set. The fitment is pretty poor, so I've had to bulk out the pegs so they don't fall off.
oh right dimmydoomyburger released today.https://weibo.com/5635925664/Q0U34vNRM
>>11534271>>11536013I think the antennas you're using now work fine, but I would lower the angle, so the lines match better
>>11536152>Pictured: Black Philip, living deliciously
>>11530525>>11536013I didn't know these. What's the kotobukiya equivalent of 30 minute missions?
>>11537713Frame Arms, but they're way more expensive than 30MM and also largely out of print. They're completely covered with 3mm sockets so you can do some wacky stuff with them- like turning a Gourai into a go-kart tank for Gourai-chan.
So, Give it to me straight... the MFT/lost planet diaclone knock offs are fucking dead, arent they. seems like it's been well over a year since they have done fucking anything, even tho they have KO'd great base models, like the verisaulter frame, and the waruder grappler. literally all they need to sell another wave of KOs is a few new parts
>>11537971Versaulter KOs are by a different company.MFT themselves, including their TF KO side died quite a long time ago, I want to say 3 years back. The factory is still active but only re-releasing their back catalog.Last waves of MFT KOs, I.e. Epsilon powersuit and Waruda Grappler were funded and produced by DMH, a small taobao seller. Guess they reached the limits of abilities last year, but their shop is still active so they may produce more KOs if they raise more funds.
>>11538091>Versaulter KOs are by a different company.lol, easy mistake. But damn, it really does make me upset that both those KO companies stalled out when they did. They would only need to make one or two new molds to re-release the grappler as bug head/raptor head. And I guarantee they would have no problems selling out, considering how long ago the originals sold out. Same could be said to re-release the TM frame as Tread/Airborn, but the demand for that is probably a good bit less. Honestly, if I didn't expect the chinks to scam me, I would legitimately consider investing with them to produce some new releases like this
>>11531645Dude has HJ tattooed on his hands. Is that a request or an offer?
>>11539788it makes a lot more sense when you see what's on the mudflaps
>>11538896There's also the people that KOed DA65. Surely they'd do some repaints or accessory packs with their molds, right? They even have the dianauts v2 that MFT didn't do.
Diaclone reboot has been going for a long time, can't Takara Tomy re-release some sets?
>>11540126they could 100% do Vmax Shadow, which is just the tacticool black version of DA65. i think there were a couple trailer sets that used the big box trailer, like Pod Grander and the new TM mobile fortress. They could maybe release a couple versions of that convoy too, if anyone really wants another convoy
I regret not buying these build robot guys sooner. I went through what I had to find 4mm compatible mecha and I surprisingly found something.
>>11540947
literally just got my shiek mainland ventus vector kit. I'm a little annoyed they didn't ship both kits at the same time, but I guess it gives me tome to focus on this
>>11542137great little set. The tiny fuck ball joints are annoying to get together, but it's got a lot more articulation than I would have expected. Only quality issue I noticed was that the plastic dimpled on this one arm piece when the plastic was cooling. haven't checked if the other runners have the same problem, but it's not a very big deal
>>11542245Sometimes, you can heat the piece a bit with a hairdryer/heatgun to make the dip less obvious. It does depend on the plastic/how deep the mark is though.

>>11542638A few billion yen?
>>11542352>>11542610Interesting, it looks closer to Mugenbine Saga or even Animagear shokugan but is actually produced by Toys department. Lone boxes are blind and 1000 yen which is quite steep, but the shokugan dept has been saying how it's difficult to keep prices under their traditional 500 yen price point.

>>11542638>GRB <SHADOW>Neat. I think a lot of people expected it kinda sucks that they are making it a limited edition anniversary thing, because you know they will use it as an excuse to jack the price way the fuck up. Is it going to be 1 box or 2?

>>11542638I thought it would be blue???
Are these parts included?
>>11543810jesus fucking christ, I don't even want to think about how much it would cost to get a complete Robot Base, with 4 or 5 accessory packs, all in one box. And then there's the "special anniversary limited edition" tax on top of that...
>>11542841>>11543732>>11543810Saw these: instead of gold I'd like silver or white gold (white chrome?) though but as it is looks great. The figures are standing out, as well as the vehicles. Great colors, they've had so many good releases lately in the base building category.
I got this orange creamsicle and a pink carbe but half its joints were broken because transparent plastic so now I'm afraid to touch them.

>>11543732>>11544442>>11544634I don't know what I was hoping for but I can't stand the black and gold. I told myself with the OG that I would hold out for better colors but I like this even less. I guess I just can't gel with the overdesigned nature of nu diaclone when it comes to such large items. I do think I'd like these a lot better with more blocky colorschemes, almost like unfinished prototypes or designed to ape the vintage diaclone with fewer details painted. I do think your proposed silver or white would be a bit more appealing, but who can say. >inb4 copeI just don't want to spend $1000 on something I don't love.
I'm not really surprised by the black and gold but I don't think it's particularly exciting. Did a few quick tonal changes just to see some other possibilities- but I do think a brighter primary color for the majority of the body would have been really rad- alas, beyond my very limited editing knowledge.
>>11544987nope. Cloud Across has them too. It's just the forearm position in that pic. Although now that you bring up changes, I wonder if they changed anything with the Cloud Across cockpit windows. I remember some people having issues with the DA-100 release
>>11544463I don’t love Earnest Core’s orange plastics in general. I’ve had similar problems.>>11544634A bit annoying that it’s on the worst Governor mold.
>>11544634Bro skipped thigh day
>>11544634Maybe it's just the lighting in these photos from the toy show, but the green tone of this gold is ugly. It looked like a much warmer gold in the product shot of the vehicle set. Hopefully it's something they are able to address before production
I hope they will release that crab/bug monster
>>11542137Fortishield kit showed up today. thank goodness they used those little plastic box corner protectors, otherwise the packaging might have been damaged. Jokes aside, the actual sprues in the box seem undamaged. There does seem to be a little bit of brownish residue in some of the deeper details tho(release agent from the molds?).
>>11542352>>11542353>>11542356>>11542664After taking some closer looks at the images for this new Mugenbine I can't help but find some similiar if not the exact same parts shown under the armor pieces that resemble the "skeleton" figure frame for the Blockcross toyline. Maybe this means that this new line of Mugenbine figures are compatible with Blockcross or are more cynically just reskinning excess Blockcross stuff from future planned figures? Speaking of which, those of you who did get Blockcross stuff, how are they as modular toy figures? They good or not? Wanna get some for myself after seeing their current line.
>>11546032Blockcross is also all 3mm pegs, right? Anyway I don't think it's popular since it overlaps with other hobby and candy lines. Probably should've done Mugenbine from the start.

Wonder if I should make a new thread. This one dipped to pg10 yesterday due to some lego spergout.
>>11550951I was wondering why suddenly all the threads I had open archived.
The robot spirit thread got fucked from the spergout so I'm posting it here because I gave him masaki's cats from Cybuster. The hardpoints being 3mm are really fun.
