I want to tint these wings a see-through yellow or orange, is my only real option to doing that well an airbrush with lacquer clears, or could I use something like an artists soft tipped marker?
I don't mind that the green and blue details will get muddy and brown, I mostly want to achieve a consistent finish.
>>
>>11530542
isn't that clear plastic harder to paint?
>>
>>11530544
Probably, particularly since clear plastic primer is rare as all hell.
I don't mind if the paint is a bit delicate, I expect it not to last since "flexible" and "clear" aren't really achievable at the same time... at least not with my experience with water based acrylics.
I'm mostly fishing for a way to get out of using an airbrush, truth be told.

If you're ok with them being flat pieces of plastic, you can try cutting them from colored PVC sheets. those below 0,5mm thickness or so can be cut with scissors, and with a hole-punch for the holes. Some art supply shops have stock ones but you could also use folders like pic
>>
>>11530556
Airbrush will get you the best finish. Tamiya transparent enamels are a good medium for these effects, since they never cure, you may be able to carefully brush over the part. Just remove with enamel thinner if it looks bad.
>>
Koto makes garage kits? I suppose that's one way to make niche products like Pbandai.

>>
>>11530542
Yeah, best bet is airbrush. But get some practice getting a smooth coat, otherwise it'll come out frosted looking.
>>11530570
You could try to find a premade thin yellow sticker sheet/clear plastic and glue it on, but you gotta be careful with applying the glue/stickers to avoid bubbles.

Ah, thanks for the heads up. The Type D/E have the same parts and they go unused, so I may give that arrangement a go.
As for the antenna, they're from the Kotobukiya Mecha Supply 12 head set. The fitment is pretty poor, so I've had to bulk out the pegs so they don't fall off.

Frame Arms, but they're way more expensive than 30MM and also largely out of print. They're completely covered with 3mm sockets so you can do some wacky stuff with them- like turning a Gourai into a go-kart tank for Gourai-chan.

So, Give it to me straight... the MFT/lost planet diaclone knock offs are fucking dead, arent they. seems like it's been well over a year since they have done fucking anything, even tho they have KO'd great base models, like the verisaulter frame, and the waruder grappler. literally all they need to sell another wave of KOs is a few new parts
>>
>>11537971
Versaulter KOs are by a different company.

MFT themselves, including their TF KO side died quite a long time ago, I want to say 3 years back. The factory is still active but only re-releasing their back catalog.

Last waves of MFT KOs, I.e. Epsilon powersuit and Waruda Grappler were funded and produced by DMH, a small taobao seller. Guess they reached the limits of abilities last year, but their shop is still active so they may produce more KOs if they raise more funds.
>>
>>11538091
>Versaulter KOs are by a different company.
lol, easy mistake. But damn, it really does make me upset that both those KO companies stalled out when they did. They would only need to make one or two new molds to re-release the grappler as bug head/raptor head. And I guarantee they would have no problems selling out, considering how long ago the originals sold out. Same could be said to re-release the TM frame as Tread/Airborn, but the demand for that is probably a good bit less. Honestly, if I didn't expect the chinks to scam me, I would legitimately consider investing with them to produce some new releases like this

>>
>>11538896
There's also the people that KOed DA65. Surely they'd do some repaints or accessory packs with their molds, right? They even have the dianauts v2 that MFT didn't do.
>>
Diaclone reboot has been going for a long time, can't Takara Tomy re-release some sets?
>>
>>11540126
they could 100% do Vmax Shadow, which is just the tacticool black version of DA65. i think there were a couple trailer sets that used the big box trailer, like Pod Grander and the new TM mobile fortress. They could maybe release a couple versions of that convoy too, if anyone really wants another convoy

great little set. The tiny fuck ball joints are annoying to get together, but it's got a lot more articulation than I would have expected. Only quality issue I noticed was that the plastic dimpled on this one arm piece when the plastic was cooling. haven't checked if the other runners have the same problem, but it's not a very big deal
>>
>>11542245
Sometimes, you can heat the piece a bit with a hairdryer/heatgun to make the dip less obvious. It does depend on the plastic/how deep the mark is though.

I don't know what I was hoping for but I can't stand the black and gold. I told myself with the OG that I would hold out for better colors but I like this even less. I guess I just can't gel with the overdesigned nature of nu diaclone when it comes to such large items. I do think I'd like these a lot better with more blocky colorschemes, almost like unfinished prototypes or designed to ape the vintage diaclone with fewer details painted. I do think your proposed silver or white would be a bit more appealing, but who can say.

I'm not really surprised by the black and gold but I don't think it's particularly exciting. Did a few quick tonal changes just to see some other possibilities- but I do think a brighter primary color for the majority of the body would have been really rad- alas, beyond my very limited editing knowledge.

After taking some closer looks at the images for this new Mugenbine I can't help but find some similiar if not the exact same parts shown under the armor pieces that resemble the "skeleton" figure frame for the Blockcross toyline.

Maybe this means that this new line of Mugenbine figures are compatible with Blockcross or are more cynically just reskinning excess Blockcross stuff from future planned figures?

Speaking of which, those of you who did get Blockcross stuff, how are they as modular toy figures? They good or not? Wanna get some for myself after seeing their current line.
>>
>>11546032
Blockcross is also all 3mm pegs, right? Anyway I don't think it's popular since it overlaps with other hobby and candy lines. Probably should've done Mugenbine from the start.
