I’ve been eyeing up a lot of 1/6 stuff lately and while it’s pricey it’s probably the best stuff on the market. However I saw this video by Kazuma Collection where he broke his $500 hulk hot toys and I’m worried it will happen to me me too. This is also after I’ve heard all the horror stories about 1/6 seamless bodies and the pleather peeling. Are hot toys just ticking time bombs in your collection or am I just a schizo?
>>11545165Nature of the materials is all. Rubber, pleather, it doesn't age well. Buy what you want and enjoy it today.
>>11545165Depends on the figure. I don't collect Hot Toys, but my dad does. He even has that Hulk. None of his have ever shelf dived like that afaik, though a few of the pleather outfits like Star Lord's jacket have deteriorated a bit over the years.
>>11545165While some HT have their issues for sure, The Avengers Hulk was like $50 on AliExpress for ages, meaning bootleg. Not sure if OP's pic is genuine or bootleg.
>>11545165>put big heavy expensive toy on the top shelf>it falls and breaks>do it again
>>11545196>leave door open>film it
>>11545165The pleather/rubber issues have largely been fixed, or at least stalled, and it's rare to see a figure in the last 15 years that has major rubber/leather deterioration or Most of the Hot Toys gore you see comes from those 2000's-early 2010s releases. Obviously you can't be as rough with them with a plastic retail figure, and like your real clothes you need to be wary of what might stain or damage them, and you should mind the center of gravity and make sure they aren't likely to fall. The on thing about them is that to have to be ready to accept that there will be upgrades as recently as 4 years later and that $220+(closer to $300+ these days) will be considered outdated with a newer, better release.
>>11545196>>11545197I think he was just showing that they were so Brooke they couldn’t stay up, obviously the door wouldn’t have been open. That’s why he had his foot to stop the hulk and the pillows below the venom.
>>11545165>Kazuma CollectionFunny. I just watched this guys apology video the other day because a lot of people were getting sick of his clickbait reels. He admits he hasn't broken any figures and everything is staged.
>>11545282He made an apology video?
>>11545282Yeah kazuma is a shitty reviewer and the new diss track had my dying
>>11545264>That’s why he had his foot to stop the hulkWhat a retard.
>>11545405Watch the video again lil bro, the figure hit his shoe
>>11545165Cool doll
>>11545165>Breaking expensive toys for a large audience just to make 2x the money the figure was worth from the views.wow its like a mystery anon
>>11545287Yeah. Basically he said its a business at the end of the day and his content gets more views now so blames the algorithms for pushing it.https://youtu.be/fXr9Eyz1ALs?si=dl6VD8lOXPUY7VLq
>>11545443Why did you link a dominos ad?
Guys, kazuma came tomy house today and tried skinning my dog. Luckily my girlfriend jessica was there to save them. Kazuma keeps talking to my gf though, and giving her stormtrooper figures. She tolerates him out of fear for what he could do.
He is a sloptent creator and rough houses his figures for money, so I guess it makes sense that HIS toys break.
>>11545452who the fuck is jessica
>>11545443Great, now I'm hungry
>>11545172The fact $300 figures use pleather is actually the biggest fucking scam in the toy industry it looks awful too
>>11545448>>11545751fucking kek. i found the video and grabbed the share link, but it musta been playing the add first.i'm sick of yt ads these days.
we love kazuma here
>>11545776Things might change when they start using that vegan leather. Maybe. Also I like the look of vintage toys but I kinda avoid them because of how fragile some plastics are now.
>>11545890>falling for the buzzwordsvegan leather = pu leather = leatherette = pleatherIt's equal in quality to bonded leather, which is basically leather powder that's glued together. It's all low quality shit.
>>11545911Pleather is like plastic made to look like leather.Vegan leather is made from cactus to look like leather. I would think the fake plastic leather would be the first to start breaking down.
>>11545917Oof, you've fallen for the marketing hard. Vegan leather is nothing but a marketing term because people learned that pleather/artificual leather was cheapshit, so they called it something else. The fact that they use plants for SOME vegan leathers to seem ecofriendly is more marketing, but plants based plastics are even worse than PVC.... but at least it won't be bad for the environmentI tried to find an article from before 2005, to show that vegan leather has been around since forever, but google is so shit that tiktok and twitter come up in the results when i try to limit results to 1995 - 2005... along with a billion chinese websites that have existed online since 1990 that are trying to sell me vegan leather products.https://www.vogue.com/article/what-is-vegan-leather
>>11545165When the Venom falls over, why is there a pillow ready below it as if he's anticipating it?
>>11545776they seem to be switching to real leather now for some of them at least, I saw it mentioned on their kamen rider
>>11545776I think recent Vaders have had real leather suits
>>11545165How many times are you gonna make this thread?
>>11547067I’ve never seen a thread about this topic
>>11547081There literally were 2 deleted threads before this the exact same day the exact same gif by this fag
>>11548765I deleted those like a minute after I posted them because I kept uploading the wrong file

I watched a few of his videos and why does he seem to just sell most of his stuff off? The Hot Toys I have I bought because it’s things I really care about and would never sell. Instead, he buys stuff and says that the hype is gone and just sells it.
>>11559146Undiagnosed Mental illness probably.
>>11559146Around COVID 1/6th and Omnibus collecting exploded, with normalfas rushing in to buy whatever new toy. But they quickly got bored and didn't stick around, leading to tons of Endgame Hot Toys clogging the shelves. But a lot of them stuck around. The thing is, they're all secondaries and thus don't actually care for these characters beyond>NEW THINGSo instead of waiting for the MCU or DCU or whatever to do their preferred costume from a particular era, instead of waiting for specific stories, instead of understanding the base truth that they'll keep churning these out with minor updates all the time, they just buy whatever's the newest and flashiest figure. But of course by the time it's out they've watched another 5 big Hollywood movies so now they want those new figures, so the moment they get what they've POed they sell them. And so on and so forth.I frequent Reddit for new for such stuff, and they're all legitimately retarded people there. There's no actual decision making in their heads, they just go after whatever's the "hot new thing". The Omni subs specifically are the worst. I've seen people post shelves full of Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen Omnis without a single classic. I've seen people clamor to buy the Zeb Wells Spider-Man Omnis. This is legitimate mental retardation. The 1/6th subs aren't much better, they literally have 0 investment in these characters and just go after whatever's being pushed in marketing.TL;DR There's no emotional investment into any character for these people, so they attracted to whatever's new, by the time they get in hand they've moved on to salivating over the new thing being marketed, so they endlessly sell and buy the same figures. They don't have a vision for what kind of a collection they want, they just randomly buy things and then smash them together in cheap cabinets.
>>11550252Don’t you just love webp?
>>11545165>However I saw this video by Kazuma Collection where he broke his $500 hulk hot toysdo you retard understand that video is a fake clickbait so retards like you talk about it?
>>11545165>>11545776I am not going to buy any high end collectable unless I can get confirmation that it's not going to biodegrade.
>>11560715>The Omni subs specifically are the worst. I've seen people post shelves full of Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen Omnis without a single classic. I've seen people clamor to buy the Zeb Wells Spider-Man OmnisDear God...
