I tried but no one cares about playmobil and mega construx is dead

Also, spin master lost the DC license and I'm sad and Bakugan is dead.

Damn that made me almost sad for you. I know you’re just looking for engagement and luls. I gotta ask are you the mythical retrospammer and Athena too? Is it really all one guy?
Come on Paul you’ve engaged with me before and when the trannyjanny wakes up I’ll probably get all my posts nuked,
What’s the motivation?

I personally want lego general to go back to old days but you won't let me. I want no more lego threads on toy but you keep making antishill threads. Why? Just let me make all fiture lego general threads with OP pics and text and be done with it. I promise I wait for both bump and imahe limit to hit 149 before making the new thread, let me shill in peace and everyone will have fun in my threads, I made threads here since 2021 and no one bat an eye until you started to sperg out with muj shill muh shill etc etc. Ehy??? Lego x One Punch Man is real. First real anime collab. Speed Racer and One Piece were both based on live action adaptations of anime and AtlA doesn't count as anime.

Crazy our first true lego anime theme is not dbz or naruto but one punch man.

Sets when? And where is Goku??

I noticed back then. What makes me like this is the constant spam man. Discussion and actual Lego gets lost in the shuffle and we hardly ever get anything original posted. I’m not just going to roll over because you’ve been here for a couple years and got away with it. I told you I have a special brand of autism and my pattern recognition can’t ignore it… probably why I like lego.
We used to have threads for weeks man and now it’s every 48-72 hours. You’ve got to get out of the fucking house dude! Go actually play with them and post some? You claim to enjoy it but you’re constantly making it shitty here and you have an unhealthy need to control the conversation. Why? I don’t for one second think your name is Paul or you’re French but the only conclusion I can draw for the constant spam and constant company approved images and “leaks” is that you’ve got to have a financial motive. Hence I’ll keep calling you out.
I’m still a newfag too… I’ve been here since 2008… get comfortable the ride never ends and you’re here forever.

I can't put into words how mad this trend makes me. the general population is fine with the multi-hundred-dollar sets, and there is nothing we can do about it.

the upcoming $400 (argh!!!) Star Trek set WILL sell like mad. all I want is a couple minifig torsos so I can make my own Trek stuff.

Lego used to "torture" fans by putting desirable parts into merely $50 sets. I really want that hair piece but ugh, in a $70 set? now it's impossible to get the piece you want. Link? Zelda? THREE HUNDRED BUCKS chump

b-but sales data! $400 Enterprise will ensure that we never get any Star Trek set at a reasonable price. ever.

Mixels encouraged
"playing with" your Legos

take 'em apart, make little new arms, fiddle with 'em this-and-that way, maybe make your own wacky character...

but.. the constant taking-apart and re-clicking of modern Lego would expose the poorer quality plastics, as they begin to crumble, crack, or simply loosen with repeated use. Lego dare not try it, it would be a disaster for their reputation. better to build one $500 set and leave it alone on the shelf forever.
>>
>>11546154
why would anyone buy this slop. I'm a 40 year old boomer and this is cringe as hell man. Lego really has run out of ideas completely, half of their products are just pandering slop that is destined to shelf warm until it goes on discount for 50% off and still no one buys it.

that's less than two Death Stars!

It's not the price of the printer as much as the ease of using the program. not everybody is a graphic designer able to make those prints.

the coolest part is that it's the same tech Lego themselves use, so if it's done proper (design style, color matching, etc) it would "look" 100% legit Lego next to your other Legos.

lmao this tech makes me want to buy a bunch of Everyone Is Awesome sets to get all the multi-colored blank Minifig parts

>>11546438
I'm a big fan of the 80's and 90's style of building. With the available range of pieces they had they more or less perfected a more abstract style that was easy to build for kids, fun to play with but still specific enough to resemble real-life or make-believe subjects. What you call just plain boring and blocky i think is a good style on its own. Ofcourse this is highly subjective. But seeing what parts they had to work with, the more minimal aproach was a good decision in my opinion.
The fact that "even bad guys had smiley faces" is another product of this that i actually really like. Instead of already existing binary badguy/goodguy relationships, like a lot of current themes, this challenged kids to come up with their own or expand upon the stories and rules.

The last thing that can be hard for adult fans to realize is the "easy to build for kids" argument. While Lego is getting better now at giving the consumers different difficultylevels of builds with the juniors line for example, i've had parents tell me that the newer sets are so complicated compared to the older style that the sets get built once and then they don't really feel like dismantling them anymore. They have more trouble getting their heads around the more advanced techniques used in sets, so when they build their own mocs they fall short compared to the original models by such a large degree they just keep them stock. Adult fans now often had a more natural learning curve along with the complexity of sets over the years. Starting off with simple sets. Maybe getting into some model-team early on. Then the later 2000s/2010's stuff and eventually graduating with modulars and ucs style

that's the Nintendo Power effect.
people thought they were insane to show you exactly how to beat a game, yet it encouraged you to finish quicker so you could buy the new game.

Lego's version:
complicated
amazing-looking
expensive

all of those things encourage you to keep the set built and NOT "mess with it"

just buy more Lego
repeat

how many people buy two of the same set? one to "keep" and the other two use the torsos to make your own stuff? probably more than you'd think. now their tactic has sold two sets, as well!
>>
>>11546423

Yes, back in the day, three simple walls and a plate as roof was a satisfactory building that didn't look out of place in an official Lego town. If you build this today it looks jarring next to all the offical sets and it just takes the fun out of building your own if you don't have the skill or the pieces to make it look fancy. And those fancy decoration pieces have a very limited range of usage, so you actually need very specific pieces or a large number of 1x1 slopes or a specific color. Colors are another subject. In the 90s all you had were white, black, grey, res, blue, yellow and green plates and brown accessories, so you would naturally build up a sufficient assortment of all colors. Today there are all kinds of colors and you only have a few of each and sometimes the colors get retired.
>>
>>11547180
the emphasis on greebling is a big problem as well
sets often have inflated part counts because due to dozens of borderline useless 1x1 slopes/ plates/ tiles
you can't build anything with those, and what you get left over can't even be added to the set in a satisfactory way most of the time
>>
>>11547183
In the past, most of the pieces in a set were structural. Today almost half of the pieces are part of the surface detailing and decoration.

If Lego ever releases another Western set it will have black cowboys and then your head will explode.
>>
>>11547793
they can milk it way harder tucking figures in sets you wouldn't otherwise buy and large big black afol slop. look at the ringer they put space fans through who just want that spaceman in every color.
>>
>>11547847
No. you’re just retarded and gay. That was not a reason you just made it up. The world moved on from your mental illness. because it’s retarded. The reason there aren’t western Lego sets is because there really isn’t enough demand for it. Lego chases trends and there isn’t a western trend right now. Lego should branch out more but they dont. Either way it’s not your mentally ill reasoning.
>please get angry at my fanfic scenario about blacks
You’re just being weird and confusing anon.

is that why the CMF series got turned into fluff sets (F1, Spider-verse, Animal Costumes...) instead of random-actually-usable figures?

I remember when you could get a castle guy for $5. random Gladiator? Viking girl? nope! not anymore! enjoy your Spider-Mans!

I think they are actually the lowest of the low. Even below clone army builder fags

Historical cowboys were racist and problematic and the fantasy Hollywood western depictions of cowboys are also racist and problematic and no amount of shoving your head in the sand will change it and your unwillingness to admit it only makes you look like an asshole but doesn't change the truth. I don't see anything wrong with wanting your space guy in [color] so you can make space sets in [color] that seems fine to me

the Lego-is-evil part comes from Lego basically not making it easy. they got word that the light blue air tank was not available yet, so hey, let's toss ONE into the new $300 Italian Riviera set! mwa-ha-ha! (they really did that!)

some video guy listed every set you can buy to collect the 15 existing colors yourself, new, and the total was $1202.29... or bricklink the pieces used for around $200, (that total doesn't include that new light blue air tank, that's another $300!)

I hate that picture because of Benny. Totally out of place.

the video guy mentioned that, and included a regular version in his total

Right. I hate California too we’ve established this. Yet you seem to eat up whatever narrative California shits out. And you used blacks as a token to upset anonymous posters on 4chan about the west.

Soul. The fact these were shut down because of "insensitivity" is a shame. Lego Indians were neat and when I was a kid I associated them with positive emotions. Funny enough, when they started chimping out over this, just like the maori chimped over Bionicle, that's when I considered those groups to be whiny irredeemable faggots.
You were primitive cannibals, you should be thanking god that children around the world would associate you with cute plastic figures.
>>
>>11547787
>Not sure if you think it’s still 2017 or you live in California but the rest of the country and the rest of the world moved on
Lego's head of design is a black ex-Adidas exec. The VP of design is the faggot who designed the gay pride set. Lego still has a jewess Chief diversity and inclusion officer.
Mandatory gender splits in every set, disabilities/prosthetics/vitiligo, whites being replaced by browns, etc are all developments that really only started about ten years ago, and they haven't slowed down. Just this year Lego put out a "She Built That" campaign, which is built on the assumption that it's somehow wrong that most people associate the word "builder" with a male construction worker. Lego has never been more Californian and it's because the people you claim "the world moved on from" are in the upper echelons of power.
The cultural tides have definitely changed recently, the retarded cracker barrel fiasco is a good example of that, but in Lego's case it's terminal, I'm afraid.

Disney tried their best to re-invigorate interest in the Wild West as a thing

they even used Depp as the Tonto! Jack Sparrow! Yeah! at the height of Sparrow-ness. even HE couldn't get Cowboys to be cool again. Lone Ranger was going to be Wild West version of Pirates of the Caribbean, but the population didn't want it

we either need to get a new show or movie to become so popular it can't be ignored, and it might be similar to One Piece replacing Pirates (whoops! at least it's kinda pirates?) OR they could do a retro black & white set for The Rifleman or Rawhide or some other old popular show

better than I thought it would look

Lego blew a huge opportunity
if this thing had ONE Gingerbread Snowtrooper
or ONE Gingerbread Imperial Officer or ONE Gingerbread Hoth Rebel Trooper...
Star Wars "fans" (insert insulting word?) would have bought multiple multiple multiple copies to army-build Gingerbread legions.

it barely makes sense to include Vader. this should have a Snowtrooper at least

This will be the scale of AT-ATs going forward, mark my words. The next playset of the thing (probably the mando one next year) will be this exact same build but gray.
>>
>>11548173
I'd be okay with this, Mando, Grogu, a pilot for at at and snowtrooper would be perfect with this size at at and a walker for Mando like in trailer

>>11548144
I also see a gingerbread snowspeeder, 2026?
>>
>>11548167
Nah, Star Wars fans are retarded but no so retarded that they'd army build a joke figure.
Vader on the other hand, makes sure the retards will all buy at least one. Gotta collect all the unique Vaders, after all. They have the normal one, the white one from the Dark Falcon, probably some other funny colour from a weird promo I'm forgetting and now they HAVE to get this to complete the "collection".

Santa Claus is famously married

it seems like every single set that Lego makes these days, should have (at least) one more minifig, but that one is missing. is Lego doing this on purpose? Why?

"this set should have both Mr. and Mrs. Clause"
"but boss, we have to remove one Minifig from each set"
"okay, just Santa then."
"yeah that works. it's fine with just Mr. Clause"

I'm actually going to throw out a wild theory at this point. the machine that makes Minifigs is working as fast as it can, and it's simply NOT POSSIBLE for Lego to include more minifigs? I mean, there has to be a science reason, at this point. surely Lego can't simply be "mean" about it, like, on purpose?
