Is it too late for Revoltech to release their version of Agent Anti-Venom?
I'm surprised they didn't made one in the first place considering they made Reverse Flash for Flash.
>>
>>11547205
Some people don't want modern Marvel shit. I also want a Venom 2.0 because I have no attachment to the time the symbiote fused with the Punisher and the govt hired him or whatever the fuck it is.
>>
>>11547205
I like Agent Venom but I really like Yamguchi's Venom. He looks like an actual monster here meanwhile other figures looks like a bodybuilder in a black suit with a monster head.
I know some people hated the look but I really like the symbiotey/gooey but not gooey look of the figure.

Japanese don't care there are no nostalgia factor involved. Classic shit or modern shit they're all new media to the majority of the customers.

>>11547213
Kaiyodo is very selective to repeating the same thing for a character. Only true example is Deadpool. Spider-Man was slightly different costume and +Iron Man. Batman the more complex game version and +Iron Man, Venom with guns and armor added, Gwen with a symbiote, and Harley but anime. Unless it's Deadpool popular they want to add a difference to the new version.
>>
>>11547289
I'm just saying that Agent Venom isn't better than a 2.0 for the people that don't know or care about whatever the fuck Agent Venom is.
Nostalgia isn't even a factor since I bought Gwenom for her neat monster tongue, but AV doesn't interest me in the slightest. It's as if a kid that plays nothing but COD was asked to redesign Venom. and replaced the monstrous factor with tacticool garbage.
>>
>>11547178
If they want to make Armored/Sealed, then also Meteoric Burst, I'm not complaining. If they were to only make one, I think the one they chose was the overall right choice since he's like this for the majority of the fight.
>>
>>11547289
>Japanese don't care there are no nostalgia factor involved.
Do you mean in this specific instance, or in general. Because if you mean the latter, Rider 1, Mazinger, the endless refreshes of classic Japanese designs would definitely indicate the contrary.
>>
>>11547325
I mean for American Comics. The only big thing was MvC.
>>
>>11547322
2nd was the easiest and cheapest. Easier because no SS3 style hair of the 3rd and cheaper because of the number of different paint colors of 1st. And a cloth cape.

If he sells I wonder if they'll do other villains or another Baros form. Garou sales will likely be the decider for his later form.
>>
>>11547328
The 1978 Spiderman is pretty popular as are the 90s cartoons. And there's been many manga adaptations of western characters.
>>
>>11547333
I think for Garou it's just a matter of when, like if they're going to wait for the anime to reach that (I predict he'll only reach 'spiral' by the end of S3, ending around his fight with DS. I'd be happy to be wrong). Monster seems like the most obvious like from his fight with Bang onward.

Speaking of Bang since they seem to be doing S1 Bang, he hopefully gets an alternate shirtless torso with all his scars.

Question for Kaiyodo is if they'd think someone like DSK (who would go well with Puri and a potential Mumen) would be worth doing over more Boros. Or maybe Groribas is the answer.
>>
>>11547340
Not sure about Toei Spida-Man counting, that was more Tokusatsu Hero than American Superhero. And none of those manga left that big of an impact. Them and the cartoons didn't really secure their position among all the other Japanese media. Nostalgia as in something that boost sales and nothing comes to mind that's strong as the old MvC games. Even Bandai is getting a piece and it's the direct source. A lot of the initial Marvel AY selection was based on those games until they didn't do as well as they hoped.

>kneecaps sculpt on the upper half of the legs

This is something I thought AY should be doing for ages. That used to be how Yamaguchi sculpted the legs look at RevolMini or earliest AYs. When he stopped using the ball hinge joints there he somehow got stuck on doing knee spikes on the lower half of the legs. Years later and his apprentice has to set back the course to the way it used to be.

AY Nube when?
>>
>>11548063
I didn't get the original preorder, but I would like those first 3 release trio eventually. I preordered Armored locally, so I'll be getting that next month I think, and I'll likely grab her too, though I'm hoping she'll get slightly discounted at least, she doesn't feel worth the same price as the much more substantial looking Armored (purely from a silly perspective).
>>
>>11548072
Maybe if you look at mass. But they're about the same height and she comes with a slightly more option parts I think the pricing is justified. And I'm not sure discount is a thing anymore? Not for these popular items at least.
>>
>>11548077
At Gamestop and them they might be here and there. And once in a while an AY goes on sale (though that's usually those mass retail ones, not these preorder ones). And hey, if this never happens there's always the option of just preordering the reissue already. Does make you wonder why they're already doing reissues though.
>>
>>11548077
She does also lack a second expression while Armored has one. It's kind of like Eren, the bonus almost feels essential because of that while for Armored he has the yelling and the closed armored mouth, so the gritted teeth feels like an actual bonus rather than something essential.
>>
>>11548084
>Does make you wonder why they're already doing reissues though.
It sold really well. Everything is decided from PO numbers now, and I imagine there's a top limit to how many Revos the booked factory can produce. So if it looks like there were plenty more demand for the revo they book a new production ASAP.

>>11548088
I honestly can't recall a different expression for her so I didn't even thought I was missing out. Eren is definitely the weakest release so far. Not even holding hands which the other 2 came with for no apparent reason.
>>
>>11548013
too big. its also weird to see s 1-3 Titan Eren next s4 Titans lol
>>
>>11548096
That almost seems like the wrong reason to, no? If the POs did really well, I wouldn't expect people to double dip, however if they were low but noticed a spike in interest due to showing off a number of other new Titans, then it would seem to make more sense.

No no, I'm saying there were more people out there than a single production run can provide. This is all made to order, but the wiggle room wouldn't be that huge. I doubt they can double the intended quantity for example.

There certainly are also the group that came in because of the later additions of Titans. However they're not the most popular entries AFAIK so I don't think say the Beast Titan got double the PO. If the first runs felt like they reached most potential buyers they wouldn't reissue so quickly.

It's also possible they greatly underestimated the popularity of the IP so they set the cap too low for those 3.
>>
>>11548404
>It's also possible they greatly underestimated the popularity of the IP so they set the cap too low for those 3
Maybe in terms of extra stock for themselves and retailers, but like you said the model is mostly made to order so a cap doesn't really exist. Especially since these are at the same price they had the first go around, either they had a sufficiently high profit margin the first time that a smaller production run can still make a significant enough profit, or they are expecting sales to match similarly to the first time around. Just seems weird because we don't usually see reissues so soon after a release (these were like, the very same month of release that the reissues were announced). For example it seems Saitama was a solidly popular releases, but we've heard nothing of a reissue despite all the new OPM stuff on the way (though I wouldn't be surprised to see one around when S3 comes out).
>>
>>11548065
Figuarts please.
>>
>>11548410
>made to order so a cap doesn't really exist.
They don't keep adding on more factories or make more copies of molds for all I know, so there is a cap. There is a deadline, the factories have other shit to do so the cap is how many they can make during the booked time.

Pricing reflects their intended volume they want to sell yes, their minimum, but they don't really micromanage that much each time so a close release period will just have the same price. There were some quick reissues most of which are about one year apart in release, but a fast one I remember was only a few months later. Bleeding Edge Iron Man had a distinct 2nd run soon after and IM seems like someone that was very popular to the point they had to split the production. This was early days so AY might not be fully made to order yet, but the principle of having a cap still applies.
>>
>>11548410
And I think they feel confident they can sell at least that minimum number again with the reissue so there's no reason to change price

>>
>>11550292

>>
>>11550183
Yeah, everything is straight up terrible now because of this shit.
>>
>>11550292
>>11550311
Small company and production are really all that matter for the price. Sure less mouths to feed too but you can only drop price per figure when you make a whole lot of figures at once. A McFarlane action figure isn't really less costly to make than a Revoltech, they just make loads more of it. And now not so much and you get those expensive ones that aren't that different.

They can't simply make more too because that requires more money upfront plus you're really screwed if they don't sell them all. Bandai can do this with some SHF priced at 4000 Yen or so because they have the money and right IP to produce in higher numbers. And other means to earn money if it fails. Since these figures are all original IP it is also difficult to not be niche.
>>
>>11550875
>They can't simply make more too
Just like Kaiyodo they do have open preorders for a time, meaning an unlimited number of potential preorders, so their prices are just set at their projections, much like most Revoltech. They could well reach the next threshold for some items and be making huge profits. I guess better to be safe than assume how high they'll go and be stuck with an inability to reach whatever would let them reach a better price.
>>
>>11550933
>unlimited
LOL maybe if they knew alchemy using souls from another timeline.
They're also the kind of company that flat out said they won't reissue Unkval so their philosophy seems to be to get the maximum out of a single production run.
>>
>>11551248
I think you misunderstood. Unlimited potential preorders before the cutoff date. For example, if 10k people ordered before the cutoff, then they'll make at least 10k, if 1k people order before the cutoff, they'll hope that that's enough for their min threshold and make at least that many.

A reissue would imply a new production run, which would have its own min threshold and they don't seem to think they could meet it, or maybe they just don't want to devalue what they've made and keep the hype going.
>>

where them mgs preorders at?
>>
>>11551288
All I'm saying It's not actually unlimited because there's a physical limitation on how many can be put together in the time they have. Also I don't think these factories accept a job below 5~10k units if you want a realistic selling price. So They order at least that many plus a reasonable extra amount they could get and willing to pay for. I doubt that difference is big as 10 fold like your example.
Factories want their schedule filled up as much as possible so it's not like they keep it open for a "potential" job nor will Sexyice pay for the workers to sit and do nothing for months if PO was low. And booking another factory on short notice sounds like the perfect way to get price gouged by the factories.

So no not unlimited even if made-to-order. More like they set a minimum and a maximum that can be made for the time they have that factory/factories. Otherwise I don't see how anything could get made in time without getting ripped off by factories or why Kaiyodo splits up with reissues so often.

MAFEX are delayed so often they might be doing that though LOL.
>>
>>11551288
>or maybe they just don't want to devalue what they've made
I think it's that reason. So people don't skip by expecting a reissue.

That way you get the original Snake Eater experience and you have the other games in the series to play if you like it. I haven't played Delta yet but it looks like a pretty faithful remake, so if you play that first it's not a bad entry point. Snake Eater is the first game in the series cannon so you won't be missing anything.

Garou PO on 9/9 and is May release. Bonus was the easily predictable choice.

>>
>>11553264

>>11553261
It’s a screaming face. Eren yells constantly in the show. It is an essential face plate locked behind bullshit. This isn’t like some wind swept hair like Genos, it’s like if a Spider-man didn’t come with web shooting hands.
>>
>>11553261
Yeah. Faces aren't that big of a deal to me as you can only use one at a time, so it's really just useful for photography.
In my case however it was a full diorama base to recreate a scene which I stupidly didn't realise wasn't included in the standard release until after the figure dropped last week.
>>
>>11553261
bro the guy comes with one (1) face by default
>>
>>11553283
Maybe Silver Fang comes with different ones. Otherwise he would be mostly reused parts and I don't see the point why they made both of them. Unless Kaiyodo stoop that low already. 3 Blue Archive Revos shared parts but they still have many unique ones as well. Mazingers and Getters are more costly figures.
>>
>>11553303
They're two different characters and going to have entirely different sculpts, even if the outfits are similar. Maybe Garou will be a relatively cheap release like Saitama, while as some suggested Bang may well come with a second torso, and since they showed him in his unassuming pre-fighting look from S1, that shirted one may well look weak and undefined.
>>
>>11553320
You can't be 100% sure on that. Also the picture they use don't mean much either. Saitama wasn't the serious mode in his announcement picture and Naked Snake wasn't even the same costume. Saitama, Genos, and Garou are all the same price so we can feel anyway we want to feel about that.
>>
>>11553253
Hm, really don't need his bonus face, but I don't have any orders and certain retailers and it may not make sense to put orders in there. Guess I'll wait to see what the prices are looking like.
>>
>>11553336
I feel like the only conjecture is a second torso, though it makes sense for the character since it gives him two completely different "vibes" (like in s1 when he's blown away as an old man then comes back scarred and extremely muscular). I could be wrong, but when is the last time there's been re-use outside if a reissue?

>>
>>11553365
Reviews have been out for a while. There is a picture of them all lined up in a row and people complained the heads are different sizes so they look out of scale with eachother.
>>
>>11553344
>re-use outside of a reissue?
And ignoring repaints I assume. I don't have them but I assume the 3 Tokyo Revengers AY have "some" parts reused here and there. The Scientific Railgun schoolgirls share parts but less so for Shokuhou. Like I said the 3 out of the 4 Blue Archive girls look to have shared body parts, I imagine a lot of their equipment are modular. Mazinger Z and Great are like half the same parts. Getter 1 and Black are mostly a repaint but with some different parts. Claymore will likely be head swap releases.

So it happens time to time. They are more likely to plan it out at the selection stage to save some costs.

I think the GotG movie team would have been excellent picks for AY line. The movies always performed well and the comics versions tend to have the same looks. Except for Gamora perhaps. You got dual gunman with a red jacket, big green muscular dude, green girl with a sword, tree man and a racoon with bunch of guns. All seem like fun AYs. But AY really hates doing teams they can't even put together anything that resembles Avengers, JL or X-Men teams.

Not sure why anons are hung up on that statement. Look, Saki & Miyu share the arms and body, Saki & Miyako share some leg parts, and I think all 4 use the same skirt but we haven't seen Moe stood up yet so I can't be certain. The different equipment, pouches are add-ons, Miyu's front half of chest might be unique sculpt though. You can see on Saki how that part is separate piece. They wouldn't picked these and not save money reusing molds. Also joints of course, there are some new ones only seen on these like the elbow.

As for OPM I'm only saying they could've picked a different form of Garou instead of making 2 AY that looks similar or potentially come with similar options.

Youre just trying to free up the movement, not warp the leg. It should be fine, just heat it up then try to move the leg.
>>

What exactly is the stiff part? Heat only works on PVC and the joints plaatic isn't PVC. If the joint is inserted into PVC then heating would work but only then.

99% of people buying these would only know of the movie designs and don't read comics so that would not been much of an issue. It is interesting by the 3rd film they went back to that 2008 look (but no fucking helmet!!). I think timing was bad for AY too because of the no guns for comics figures Japan was following for no real reason, at least 2 characters are gun dependent. They would had to do these pretty early in the AY line.

I like the recent Gamora design the most outside of her old school design we will never get in AY anyways. A good mix of old and new. Only way to get her mixed with the rest of movie inspired >>11553613 designs would be if Kaiyodo makes them now which I think is extremely unlikely forever.

Serious answer might be rooted in older figures, but there are some that seem to be all over the place, like the YGO Duelists, some of the MHA chars were a bit wonky, I think the DC and Marvel characters are often off or inconsistent. Hopefully they do be mindful when they get to her.
>>
>>11559490
Well it's the fate of non-scale action figures, they don't put scale on box for a reason.

Revoltech as a toyline started out before any sort of standardization in action figure scales, and they also covered a wide variety of IPs from the start. Similarly there were also sublines which often had they're own scaling which they might not follow through anyways.

So the issue is they weren't trying to begin with. But there's also the way they made action figures for the longest time, using the same set of joints. This puts some restrictions to the sizing of the overall figure.

Now I think it's a mix of problems. Like before, these are non-scale so there is the lack of trying and the multiple types of IP. Then there's the problem of different sculptors making Revoltechs within the same IP. It used to be more likely one sculptor made everyone in a particular IP. The sculptors there are usually highly independent. Some are not even employed there. So I don't get the impression there's someone constantly looking over everyone's shoulder. As a result you get Maoji made MHA girls being smaller than Yamaguchi's or YGO guys being all over the place in scale.

And it doesn't look like the license holders care that much either. AY Wonder Woman was incredibly undersized. I think Jaw Titan is much bigger than the rest of the Titans. If they actually cared they wouldn't be approved as they were.

>>
>>11559987
Ratcheted Revolver joints are replaced with smooth GEO joints. Then they get some extra accessories so the unavoidable price inflation is slightly more acceptable. Spider-Gwen can really use a better unmasked face since it was in the wrong scale.

>>11560016
Maybe that's me? I was talking about the 6mm double joints specifically for Deathstroke. All other joints had a smooth GEO joint version already.

And I was wrong, they did make a new GEO joint version for 6mm double joints. So far the only use has been the 1.5 Deathstroke. The investment just for one reissue seems wasteful so maybe there will be more reissues of older AY. Batman, Captain America, Wolverine, Carnage, and Gambit comes to mind that use that joint and might get reissued. Originals Deadpool and Spider-Manare unlikely with their 2.0's.

Wait I forgot Stitch and Sally used the new 6mm double joints IIRC. It supports the theory Sally was an unreleased old sculpt if it was still incorporating that joint. They got 3 Revos out of them maybe there won't be reissues of those old AY after all.

Hobby Genki responded saying the missing hand will be replaced, but Kaiyodo doesn't consider the right thigh to be a defect/damage and suggested to use rubbing alcohol or paint remover to remove the paint. I wish it was that simple.
This did not fly with me, so I responded and went into detail about the thigh not being some paint transfer, but that it's actually glue that had leaked so it's really not paint anymore. There was no way to clean it off unless I sand it down or some other method that would destroy it.
Genki understanding the situation have now decided to also replace the thigh. Only thing that sucks is I have to wait on Japan Post for them to ship it. But I'm happy they went further to help me.

All the SF AYs getting hit hard so far...I wonder if they were all assigned to the same factory that turned out to be very unreliable?

Could someone tell me how Lunagaron and Malzeno Hunters compare to the old Monster Hunter figures? Like the range and tolerance of the joints, or any other issues.

Are we talking old MH Revoltechs or Vulcanlogs? I don't have them all handy but I have bought them all minus some colour variants.

Compared to Revoltechs the AYs are larger. Plus they only had ratchet joints unless you get the two that were reissued fairly recently.

AYs and the Vulcanlogs are about the same size. At least Lunagaron and Kirin are, those are the only two I have on me right now. The MH AYs seem to be slightly smaller compared to an average male superhero AY. Some Vulcanlogs had ball-peg hips like AYs do now.

Joints you're talking old Revolver joints vs new Geo joints and Geo joints are superior all the way, non-ratchet and some have ball-pegs for additional range. If you own any AY the articulation are not that different. Hard to compared that to old Revo Hunters since they changed so much, ranges are night and day.

The new AY Hunters have double jointed knees and they are a little troublesome. When they are fully bent 135 degrees or so, the joint and armor sculpt interferes a little so it could get in the way of bending back. You just have to pay attention. Or warp the surrounding sculpt in a way they don't catch. It's more of an issue on Malzeno. Butterfly joint system on the two Hunters are different compared to most AYs but I think they are more intuitive so shouldn't be a problem.

Paints are fine unless you're a crazy person. Hand painting all that have limits.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I decided to buy Lunagaron first. What did surprise me was the price compared to other newer Revoltechs.

Lunagaron and Malzeno are a wallet rape.

I paid the late fee for them last month WITH the kaiyodo store bonuses, not fun.

Well I started MGS delta and now I definitely want that Naked Snake figure. I hope we see colored pics soon. I also hope he comes with an eyepatch head and non bandana prologue head. But I think "live action" figures typically do not come with many if any extra heads/faces :\

That's all due to the paints. Look at how involved the paints are on the hunters compared to most other AY. Compared to say Garou his pain process is barely nothing compared to those 2. Tartaglia is approaching that level and you can see it in the price but still relatively simpler in color scheme.

Not at all. I've seen a lot of people say they still prefer the dasin figures. Especially for the price.
