Is BLDR (builder) the Lego killer Jazwares hopes for? Or another Mattel's Mega Construx/Bloks and Kre-o? Surprisingly they will make Monster Jam sets next year. But lego will too, though legos are technic sets not system.

>>11548681They killed themselves. They didn't sell and were all clearanced form Target in the latest reset. All my local stores had shelves full of them all 50% or more off and moved off the the clearance aisle. All the lines - Anime, Hello Kitty, Squishmallow, etc.

>>11548681I wish lego's competitors could lockdown some quality licenses. Even Brickcraft is struggling with this.
>>11551459Licensors know that Lego is the top dog and all other companies are just trying to play catch up. MEGA was a mid tier competitor but is re-branding or whatever now. I doubt many licensors are chomping at the bit to be working with BLDR, Brickcraft, Nano blocks or whatever other Lego knock off there is.
>>11551474It's worth asking then what franchises would willingly ally themselves with lego competitors. Mega had some good choices but without any tie in media aliens, predator, borderlands, etc were all doomed. Still at this point I think it's worth revisiting. I'd kill for a Robocop construction line for instance. I cant imagine Lego will set their sights on Warhammer either. There's still a slew of other options nobody's considering.>Helldivers>Starship Troopers>ABC Warriorsetc. Not to mention all the licenses Lego's left behind like Avatar, Scooby Doo, Lego, etc.
>>11550864Chainsaw Spider! Where are his second pair of legs?
>>11550864Chain saw of democracy?
>>11551459Today it doesnt work without a already established IP?>>11551474Mega will always be seen as the inferior block system brand. They had Halo, Marvel, DnD, GI Joe and Transformers as IPs. Still they fight for survival.
>>11552190>democracy Kek. It’s time to put away childish things and talk about toy plastic bricks.Lego should be wary.
>>11552088>Not to mention all the licenses Lego's left behind like Avatar, Scooby Doo, Lego, etc.>LegoI see what you did there!>Avatar>Scooby DooDont work. Anime IPs only work in action figure size like SHfigurats.Helldivers, Starship Troopers and Warhammer are a good idea. But is Starship Trooper still a thing? And Warhammer might be a problem since fans already have the tabletop minis or McFarlaine action figures.
>>11552197Ok, lets post adult stuff!
>>11552203
>>11552088GTA VI, Resident Evil and Gears of War have new games or movies coming in 2026. It is very likely that Mattel will acquire at least one of these licenses for Mattel Brick Shop. GTA VI would make MBS a serious competitor to Lego.Gi Joe, Motu, Fallout and Halo also have new movies or games coming next year, so expect more sets from these properties.
>>11552203Lego will never. Gotta get adult themes like Pokémon.
>>11552208wouldnt playmobil's plans for MOTU throw a wrench in the works for a MOTU - Brickshop/MCX return? I want to believe but it does seem like they already gave up the ghost.
>>11552192I mean I'd be the first person in-line for a Dragon's Universe revival but god knows that wouldnt fare well in these times.>Mega had Transformers and DnD>confusing Kreo with MegaAnon what are you smoking? I agree otherwise however. Lego purists are a herculean obstacle no block competitors can ever really get past.
>>11552197such a shame they're forbidden to include any minifigs with these accessory packs. fuck lego and their juryrigging.>>11552199Has anybody actually attempted anime minifigs outside of bootleggers though? After Pokemon proved to be such a success for Mega I fully expected them to embrace the weeb hype and go after IP's like Dragonball or One Punch Man. Ahit that bootleggers have proven there's demand for, for years now. Then the line slowed to a crawl and Lego announced they'ed nabbed it. A story as old as time :( .Like Robocop, Troopers still has a diehard fanbase. They could focus on that but it'd surely be risky. There've been talks of a reboot now for years but nothing ever manifests. Hence why I brought up Robocop, Helldivers, and Warhammer. Even with the competition Warhammer's offering it's worth noting they have that big amazon movie in the works. I feel like it's a safe bet with tons of promise and overlap with Halo as is. Not to mention the succesa of the Space Marine games. Robocop and Helldivers both have that strength too. In an ideal world these three would have filled the void left behind by MEGA Halo, COD, and Destiny...In anycase I'm still sad Lego Scooby doo died like it did.
>>11548681I hate Lego outside of Bionicle/CCBS and licenses so ill give it a shot
>>11552208All good suggestions there anon. Even with everything going on I still have some faith in the fallout line. The question now is whether or not Mattel themselves do.>>11552220Honestly given the entire JASON UNIVERSE copyright debacle I could totally see a line of slasher construction sets. Jason, Chucky, Scream, Myers. Back in the day I kept vying for MCX Universal Monster sets. I'd still love to see something like that.
>>11552365Far as I can tell the connections on the BLDR sets should be compatible with CCBS/Bionicle, but I havent seen anyone test it for sure. Brickcraft is getting in the habit of using CCBS components aswell. It's a decent source of parts.
>>11552361"bitches leave" should become Mega's slogan
>>11552345Two totally different categories of toys. Brickshop is a brick construction toy, Playmobil is figures and playsets.
>>11552510Ah I waant sure. Thanks for the clarification.
>>11552530That's okay, we're not born knowing everything. Hope I didn't bruise your ego.
