I still need to complete the backpack for the base configuration before starting the FA mode, but you can see how different it is to Bandai's 2.0 Haykushiki
>>11563196>>11563195>>11563194That gold is pretty nice. Also gotta say Chinese kits are coming a long way. I finished the Hemoxian Jiangshi the other week and it the plastic was just as good as Bandai's, but their gold was WAY better than anything Koto or Bandai have given.
>>11563202>chink zombie girlthis hits all my buttons
>>11563209It is shockingly good quality and came with a TON of accessories and options, for like $65.
Bought my first robot ever I hope I don't mess up lol I feel like I cut stuff wrong
Are you guys hyped?
Got the body assembled for my Nu Ver Ka with metal frame. Still have the backpack, funnels, and weapons yet. There's a lot of cleanup to do and a lot of loose parts to tighten as well. This has been somewhat nightmarish to assemble, but I largely blame the metal frame I think. I bought replacement hands, though I might still try to salvage the old ones. What I want to know is why they thought it was a good idea to have the back skirts be so close to the body while also being above the torso horizon so that when you twist the hip, the back skirt immediately pops off.
>>11563330>10k yen>massively off jaw and mouth proportionsuh... not really, but I bet it will be the biggest of the 3 gods in both width and length
>>11563330I need to see the articulation of the main body, we only have this one pic and it looks static.
>>11563330Mmm... I guess?I didn't buy obelisk but I have ra
and here it is with the backpack complete, so you can have the Hyakushiki Kai
>>11564155
>>11564156the backpack is pretty interesting with the LED gimmick to simulate the active trusters, although one of the 2 the kit came with was short-circuiting so I had to use a bit of aluminum paper for the battery to properly make contact
>>11564159went ahead and got the normal beam rifle doneit is exactly the same as the one of the original Hyakushiki but this thing can't even fully extend the arm to simulate a firing pose like in >>11563196 because the bulky shoulders collide with the cylinder things of the backpack where the LEDs are located, thus mobility is already hindered, it will be even worse with the FA
>>11564354you get some extra parts and a different barrel to make the rifle a bit longer
>Buy the matte and gloss varnishes from Kaleido after hearing they're aqueous acrylics that behave like lacquers>Worried I've wasted my money on another hobby product that doesn't do anything particularly useful>They're actually really fucking goodI know some people don't like pre-thinned stuff, but if you're after a decent varnish for paints that don't like solvent paints over the top I can confirm they're honestly great. I hope they do some regular clear colours that behave this well. Was a tiny bit disappointed with the white primer I got from them, but maybe that's because I'm used to Mr. Surfacer and was hoping it'd be as retard-proof as that (and the varnishes, which TBF are genuinely amazing). On that note, what kind of finish do you guys like to aim for with your models? I've been chasing the sort of "super smooth/automotive" look for a while now but I realize it's not much fun to actually do and it means I never finish anything; I practiced trying to mimic a watercolour illustration style ala Sugimori on this Squirtle kit with standard brush-painting and I've been finding the more painterly, less "neat" approach really rewarding and relaxing. I'll post pics when I eventually finish the thing and can get decent photos.
>want to buy some accessory packs for my gunpla>no stores anywhere near me>all online shops have limited stock>the rest of the product is on ebay being sold by scalpers for 8 million times the amount they cost normally>sellers have 300 units availableI hate scalpers so fucking much I don't even have a reaction image that comes close to matching my rage.
>>11566359What's worse is that buying them from P-Bandai is even harder now due to the removal of order consolidation, as well as the price hikes due to tariffs. And trying to find that shit on AliExpress is also going to be a pain in the ass due to tariffs.
>Trumpeter Transformers SeriesAny of you build their kits? How are they compared to Gunpla?
>>11566587They're fine. Tiny and lots of prepainted parts though.
>>11566587EG and 30mm level of nipper-less gates, but much better detailed and color separation through prepainting and co-molding. They are smaller than 1/144 gundam kits, pretty much the size of legends scale Transformers. Also if you can get them directly from China it's at a lot lower price.
Does anyone here have any experience recasting parts with silicon and resin? Is there any reason why with two part molds the split usually goes horizontally across the part you are casting, like in the left pic? It has a hole in either end for a joint, so in my mind it makes more sense to cast it with the part vertical, but I never see people do that. Is there a reason for that? All I can think of is that it would leave less room for registration marks.
>>11563330No im waiting for him.
>>11566986The stuff that goes inside is liquid, it needs to be poured in, so you need channels for pouring and for the air to come out and no dead ends to trap the air. Same goes for silicone too, it's also liquid and it needs to be poured properly to make a good mold. Once you put it all together, you will see why the parting lines are where they are.
really liked the preview pics of this cooler Jegan model
>>11567052I want to get Zeus but at the same time I learned that Koto is putting out a Kizuna Kaiser next year.

>>11567364>Kizuna Kaiser>not Sufi-Sufi-SufinxI'm honesly amazed that show got plamo.
Do these fruity robots require paint or glue? I can’t find an answer and they’re so damn fun!
>>11567731I haven't even watched the anime, I got hooked on the manga and I just fell in love with the design. RIP Reading that on mangadex by the way. Anyway as for current goings on, no guns yet and I'm planning on keeping it in destroy mode but I won't do that until I do the waterslides
How long to i need to wait for revell enamels to dry before i give it the last top coat? (Likely mr. Hobby matte)Excited to show pics when its done. The only thing i fucked up on was the color. Way too dark. I think it creates a unique look though so its fine.
>>11568314Did you print that?
>>11568376Nothing is printed. The water is vallejo water effects, rocks are from hobby lobby, and the kit is ths squirtle available from any target in north america near the funko pops. The pokepla quick line is very underated. I also made this one last month. Having 20 pieces really lets you go crazy on the paint job
Anyone got the new GQuuuuuuX kits yet? I can't decide if I'm a fan of the design or not but if they are quality wise on the same level or even better than the Witch kits I will buy them.
>>11569523Seconding this. I actually like the new reimagined designs, they kinda have that Turn A weirdness to them. Reminds me, I need to build Machu….
Sup all. I tried to hit the seam lines on this old Victory gundam Gun EZ. Did alright on the legs but should have used putty on the arms. Green turned out a little darker than I intended as well.
>>11563202This painted? It looks great.
>>11570474I touched up the gold in a couple spots with a marker and did the gold on the shoulders rather than use the included waterslide, but otherwise just panel lined it.
Anyone collect Digimon Figure Rise kits? Cant tell if this is the right thread for it (obv not Gundam but similar model kit type product). Sadly looks like the digimon figure rise line is dying a slow, prolonged death.
>>11570361Looks nice fod a prehistoric kit. More shots pls.My current seam removal isusing Mr. Hobby surface primer 500. Easier seams i use the standard glue method. The main advantage, is you don't get those divets and troughs if you use the primer, and you don't need to sand it like putty since it self levels after a coat of primer.
>>11570631I never had good success with surfacer for seam lines. Usually just use the cement, or putty. I did oversand the shit out of this kit, but impatience is my fault. Did a titanium gold base coat and it makes the green pop irl. Hard to get on camera but can kinda see it here. Ive been working on older shit kits lately, so getting back to a post 2000 kit is going to feel like a whole different game.
>>11570624I have Machinedramon/ Mugendramon. I love him, absolut unit. But I only bought him because he was on sale for 60€ including shipping. List price was 90€ without shipping and this is a problem with the entire line, completely overpriced especially for the smaller kits and the main digimon just aren't that cool if you're not a total fan either.
>>11570624I have the wargreymon, metalgarururmon and gallantmonhonestly, the former is the best one for me, with a bit of paint of course I also placed an order of the upcoming Kaiser Greymon but I doubt HLJ will deliver, as they never have anything in stock anymore despite placing the preorder since months ago
>>11570713
still getting slow progress with the FA Hyakushiki, I still need to complete the extra armor for the right leg but you can see how much volume it packs already the lower half of the body
>>11570713>>11570714>>11570708Those are sweet. I already have an overloaded collection, so I only got the small cheaper standards, so I have wargreymon, metalgarurumon and magnamon waiting to be set up. No angemon yet because I’m really holding out for a MagnaAngemon that will never happen
>>11567947The manga is great. I wonder if you are going to be able to swap the kit into its alternate configuration.
>>11570794Angemon is one of the more underwhelming in my collection to be honest. The hair doesn't move so it's hard to get the head into a decent pose.I don't actually have any pictures of it on its own.
>>11570759also applied the decals, but red over gold? you can't really see them
>>11572865
Do you all have a recommendation for Perfect Grade kits, especially if they Mobile suits from Gundam Wing? I am buying for a friend that builds PG kits, and I'm only familiar with the HG kits. I want it to be a surprise.
>>11574017Well what PG kits do they have?
>>11574173I think he has at least a Wing Gundam Zero Custom PG kit and maybe the RX-78-2 PG kit built. He used to do HG and MG but found PG is most enjoyable. He got all his unmade kits stolen recently sadly, and I think they were all PG. I wanted to cheer him up.
>>11574347I've only personally done one PG but Banshee Norn was a fun build and it's fucking huge too.And I think the Wing Zero is the only PG wing kit. I'd give anything for a PG Heavy Arms...
>>11572867more progress with this thing
>>11574557How come the FA Hyakushiki looks like such a dopey fatass but then it looks great when you're building it
>>11574560it is already a chunky kit, way heavier than anything else I have save for perhaps, the huge Moshow robot diecast figures
>>11574562It doesn't look as chonk as it does in the official art or SRW. Like, the thing looked boarderline-cumbersome. How do the shoulder flaps even work? It's armor but it impedes sight and it's on a hinge, for what purpose
>>11574568those flaps swivel vertically and are supposed to be put fully horizontally when you extend and point forwards a pair of cannons that deploy from the backpack on both sides of the head
>>11574574>they're hiding a pair of cannons (yet uninstalled)I'd love to eventually see it, what kit even is this, the 1/100 Godhorse? Golden Warrior?
>>11574586it is called "Gold Warriors", plenty of stores iin aliexpress offer it
>>11574619At least a hundo or more, expensive...Is the plastic quality good, at least?
>>11574694yeah, quality is pretty goodyou do get a bunch of diecast parts to make more solid the inner frameLEDs for the eyes and a gimmick in the backpack (batteries not included)the whole bunch of weapons and a display baseimo, it is worth it for all you get
HOLY SHIT!This is some bloodline endingly clankable bot.Any more sex bot model kits out there?
>>11575055Don't forget Windblade.
>>11575055JSYK it's a KO of the Furai Model Arcee kit. I'm kinda tempted to get one myself, can't be much worse than the official- I've found Furai Model are really good looking kits but nightmares to actually handle.
>>11563194Where can I buy this
Well, I finally got around to building the MS Cage but I'm never going to ever display it like this again.
>>11575675I don't actually know what I'm going to do with the cage come to think of it. I don't have anywhere to put it.
>>11575576aliexpress, personally I can vouch for a store called RRR Toy Store, I got various new chinese kits like this FA Hyakushiki there>>11574586here you can see the extended cannons, with the flaps down to do so
>>11575713still missing the bazooka, the huge beam rifle and the rocket launcher but it is already a very impressive piece
>>11575715
>>11575717the FA backpack adds these huge binders that come with extra missile bays on both sides you can open up to reveal the payload (you should paint the heads at least as they come molded in gray)more importantly, they include some kind of landing gear that can be deployed to help you stabilize the model so it can stand up with no issues
>>11574725Diecast parts for a model kit? Oh boy, that's tempting>>11575713Why does the stupid retard fatass look very sturdy and strong and menacingAlso how much of this is painted vs out-of-box, I've yet to figure out any budget or configuration for painting and it's probably going to just be doing bits of hand-painting at best, and mostly relying on markers for now. Because this looks impressive but I also vaguely recall you mentioning doing work on the pipes or something similar
>>11575890this is a pic I took right when I began to work in this kit, you can see where the diecast parts are locatedthis is a straight out of the box build. the only paint I used was gold for the pistons in the shins you can see in this pic and that is when I noticed that the plastic they used for this thing for some reason I can't begin to discern makes very hard for paint to stick to itthis is why I did not bother to paint the weapons with metallic black or anything, I experimented even using primer on a runner after cutting out everything and even that shit refused to stick to the surfaceI just used a brush to paint with red the power cables in the arms, the underside of the head and the missiles hidden in the binders of the backpackimo, it is honestly a very impressive kit and even if Bandai ever decides to make a FA Hyakushiki, I doubt it will even pack half the extras this one comes with
>>11575930and it is complete
>>11577630
>>11577633the rifle combining with the rocket launcher is ridiculously big and an obvious ripoff of the Sinanju
>>11577636
>>11577638side by side with the Hyakushiki 2.0
>>11577641with a weight well over 0.5 kg once everything is put together, the display base you also get is kinda useless, since it can't stand all that weightstill, a highly recommendable kit for any Quattro fans or if you want a MG of the FA Hyakushiki because it is the only option out there as Bandai will probably never make it
I want to get a printer for decals. Is there a model you guys recommend?
>>11575930Years of experience with memecast tells me those joints will not last, I wish there was an option without it
There is so much fitment issues on my daban frreedom that I might be shelving this one permanently. What do build instead?>aerial rebuild hg>rg sazabi>PG exia, kosmos led kit>MG zaku 2.0>tokai teio (can I top coat these?)>aoshima rx 7
Can I use any hardware store paint as topcoat if it says it's safe for plastic or do I really need to stick to overpriced hobby cans?
>>11579177Try it out on some sprues and see if it destroys them. in the cheap ass topcoat deparment people use floor polish too. not in spraycan form though
>>11579177Any can is overpriced because you are wasting 9/10 of the stuff you're spraying out and you produce way too much fumes to manage safely. If you're going to spray, get an airbrush.
Speaking of topcoats, I have a kit that after over a year of proudly displaying on my shelf, I realized I could've done much better. I want to revisit it (redo some panel lining and fill gaps, mostly, maybe airbrush a couple details), but I already applied flat topcoat.Should I strip the top coat? What's the best way to do it? Or should I just try filling gaps and panel lining with the topcoat on and then do another layer or two?
>>11563194Wait which one is that? Pic is coming soon with metal inner frames.Didn't really like the full armor looks, so might as well wait for this one?
>>11579501Oh wait, that Hyakki also have metal innerframe, just not prebuilt.
>>11579501that is the Gold Warriors >>11577630, just the base body without all the extra crapthat is a new Akatsuki, looks cool but does not seem to come with effect parts to displaay the dragoons mid air
>>11575930>99% oob buildSugoi...>>11577630Amazing>>11577633>needs little stands for his thrusters(?)What a loser, but it's far preferable than to have it just fall over>>11577644Could I get the shoulder cannons deployed again, now that the build's complete? I'm a HGfag because I could never decide which MG to get first, but this one's rather tempting.
>>11579177Always give it a go on a sprue or a painted spoon before you do, but I've had decent results with rustoleum clear coat over vallejo acryllics on minis I've done.
>>11579361okay but there must be something to be said about paying nearly $20 for <5oz of Mr Hobby et al. spray cans when I can get an 11oz can of some random brand at Ace Hardware for $9
>>11580174Solvents in automotive stuff are likely more aggressive, and it may go on thicker which can lead to fit issues.Should be crazy durable though.
Gyatt-DAMN
Good build, even with my lacking skills. Comparable in final size to RG GaoGaiGar.
hope i'm at the right adress herebut I was considering pic related, aoshima 1/12 ape motorcycle modelkitI mainly want some fun vehicles to pose and accompany my 1/12 figma, motu and some larger marvel legends around that scale.Do you guys have experience with this? Are they atleast somewhat sturdy or fun to play with? (like, figures can grab onto the handlebars and sit on them ok, if the wheels roll)Or are these more fragile display models made to paint and sit on a shelf undisturbed.tl;drI am considering these to vroom around with my actionfigures like a toy.Am I gonna have a bad time?
>>11581698>Am I gonna have a bad time?In short, yes.>to pose and accompanyFor photography and display - yes, for active playing - no.Scale models as the name suggests are made to scale, the structural integrity is not a priority, so while they are fully functional (wheels and handlebars turn, etc) they are not made for prolonged use, they will break pretty quickly.
>>11581921That said, there are 1/12 kits designed to accompany action figures (like pic related figma bike), they are sturdier and will probably last for some time. They are not really scale models of anyting though.
>>11581921>>11581923rightcute pic btw>>11581923I own one of the silver Saber motorcycles wich is really cool despite knowing nothing of the source materialI was eyeing this thing now. Not a modelkit but has diecast parts. In the odd chance you know since you're a bike enjoyer, do you think these are better?
>>11581928You mean Honda Monkey vs Honda Ape?BTW 1/6 Honda Monkey exists and because of the larger size it should be quite sturdy, if happen to have 1/6 action figures.
>>11581949sorry for the confusioni meant this one https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/11108444it's a diecast 1/12 model and not a plamo kiti was wondering if you knew if those are more "more play and figure interaction friendly"and yeah i'm specifically looking for 1/12 stuffi was eyeing this because the style of bike seems easier to fudge scale a bit too
>>11581953>https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/11108444Yes, diecast metal is definitely sturdier than plastic, although it can still break if you're rough with it.

The rg wing zero is a overall really nice kit and the proportion is like in between the Okawara design and katoki design made it extra cool. Though it made realize why I prefer the hg kits over rg kits because I don't have to cut through hundreds of undergates and the need of brash painting brings more variety instead of just constantly cutting gates.

>>11584804
>>11584803Undergates aren't that bad you baby and you get a cleaner looking kit out of it.
