>>11562992Lego is invincible, and they know itas long as there is a selection of $10 sets to buy kids, as gifts, the cycle will continue. adult fans will get those gifts for kids to share the experience they had as a kid (I know it's different, but that's the idea)the only way Lego fails, is if they F-up the cheap sets. their FOMO game is top-tier after you've been hooked on a few cheap sets (like drug dealers giving you the first hit for free)

Is this a good play for value in 10+ years new sealed? (Like the naked politics of it being so out of date by then)
>>11563095They’re never going to retire this set.
>>11563095>(Like the naked politics of it being so out of date by then)The guy who designed this set is still a creative lead at Lego. I wouldn't expect Lego's politics to change anytime soon. >>11562992This is from today in my feed. Normies are finally changing their minds about Lego. Either Lego returns to its roots or it becomes the next Lionel. >>11563005Gen Alpha isn't buying physical toys, and the kids' toys Lego does make don't hold a candle to the addictive quality of 80s/90s/early 00s Lego. They don't have the "coolness" factor anymore, adult sets do.
>>11563095if that set is going to be valuable, it will be for the blank minifigs in (forgive the pun) a rainbow of colors. full-non-printed minifigs are not very common, and that set has one in each of several colors.it might have a tiny amount of "remember that time when..." value (?) or value AS "the most political thing Lego has ever done, it's insane that they even did that at all" even more that the Queer Eye set, at least that was a popular TV series for many years. Everyone is Awesome set is 100% politics

You're right, tho. they should have done another round of 'em with Castle & Pirates at leastToys in general now are vanishing in use, it's all about the phones. it's similar to the revolution that destroyed Blockbuster Video and Mail Order Catalogs.Lego's mistake is putting the development costs into the product. Vidiyo was DOA due to double-priced sets, the new Poop-Noise Brick will fail for a similar reason. it will be too expensive, I can make my own poop noise for what they are charging for that little brick

>>11563505They're failing with both. Problem is that the actual interesting sets are adult themed and thus cost a fortune. Kids would love to play with the daily bugle set or the new arkham asylum but who the fuck is gonna but their kid a $300 toy in this economy?Son the kid sets that are cheaper are reduced to these garbage city themes, which are sometimes ok but boring from a kid's POV. There's Dreamzzzz but honestly that's a bit weird and I don't think kids are even going to know wtf that's all about. Really creator 3-in-1 sets are the most well rounded option atm.And of course outside of that there's always licenseshit but with the whole IP thing kids might get one or two small cheap sets but never really build a collection, thus never actually getting into the hobby properly.
Playmobil is going back to their origins and gives up on adult market. Meanwhile Lego goes the opposite direction.
>>11563663They're teaching children to become victims.
>>11562966Polly Pocket. It's funny that Lego literally ripped off Polly Pocket for the Friends line.
>>11563061The set? I think it looks good and it comes with a lot of nice figures. But that's just me. I don't think I'll get it anytime soon (just bought the big 66 Batmobile)
>>11563670Playmobil has been having the balls to make sets and franchises nobody (except bootleg chink) has the balls to make. They made Star Trek, Asterix, Kit car and an A team set for human prices.I bought the Citroen 2C set just to reward them of the kino sets.I'm too old for most Playmobil sets at this point but sometimes I surf their catalogue to see what Lego could have been

For posterity. Maybe someday I’ll do some horror heads in Lego.
>>11563526>Younger than that? Kids are definitely still into toys.No they're not lol. And the value proposition is getting worse by the week. Even Lego implicitly admits this. Their Tom Holland advertisement is a call to adults to "never grow up", ie "hey adults, keep buying Lego!" rather than appealing to children, who no longer are interested in physical toys. >FriendsFaggot nonsense for girls>CreatorDust collectors, but now for kids!Lego for children died when the "take this set apart when you're done playing with it" no longer became viable.
Lego for kids went from>buy this giant 500 piece set, quick to assemble, quick to disassemble, glorified parts packto>funko pop collect-a-thon shelf queens. 500 pieces for an eight stud wide car that you will NEVER take apart
I knew this thread would become bad the moment the slop farmers caught on to the lego nonsense
>>11563688Playmobil is rumored to being bought by Hasbro (just take a look at recent collaborations)Nevertheless their sets are becoming way more expensive at the point they are only affordable while on clearance
>>11563711>500 pieces for an eight stud wide car that you will NEVER take apartLego doesn't want you taking apart the sets. you have to buy another set for that.I enjoyed Lego best when the sales point for the new set was new hair pieces, torsos prints, or other parts that I could use for MOCs, in affordable sets.take this Wicked set, 2 new hair pieces, the other one was in only in an expensive Tangled set. do I care about mini dolls? not really. but it's only $30 and maybe I can do something with that coral boat? (I bought it on clearance for $15, it was a total score!)"good" Lego sets are still being made, but it's hard to ignore the $300+ sets, why does Lego themselves have to rage bait me in the actual store?
>>11563709I’m glad you’re not allowed within 1000ft of a school. Kids definitely like toys. Source- my kids. I honestly hope you get over your autism and vitriol. Clean yourself up. Do some of that “but mom it’s still clean!” pile of laundry stinking up your cave and toss the half empty Mountain Dew and take out containers away while the spin cycle runs. Go for a walk drink a glass of water and toss that laundry in the dryer. Small sustainable lifestyle changes anon. Eat less and exercise more and drink water. You don’t have to go nuts just go for walks to start and don’t eat in the car, fast food or anything from a gas station. That’s not food anon. A nice girl will start to be interested and maybe someday you’ll have a kid and rediscover your joy for play again. Hang in there faggot I believe in you.
Why do adults ITT want more sets for kids?Hello?
>>11563740Because >>11563736$300 ragebait sets. We want nice fun $5-50 sets with kids in mind. You know the way it was.
>>11563720>>Nevertheless their sets are becoming way more expensive at the point they are only affordable while on clearance>check amazon>$50 msrp for a basic bitch dollhouse>most vehicles are $30 msrp at the lowest>they largely have a better play value than their lego counterparts but are still insanely expensivejeez
I continued with rebuilding my old sets from a box of mixed legos after a pause. All the sets are missing a few pieces and it's triggering my ocd. Will have to order from bricklink once I catalogue everything that is missing. The guy on land is missing his torso so I gave him a postman body. This and the darth Maul/Qui Gon lightsaber duel are the only star wars Lego I had.
Why do people keep comparing Lego and Playmobil? They're not the same thing.Lego is a building block system loved around the world, Playmobil is specifically molded dollhouses and playsets for European kidsThe only reason people compare them in earnest, is when that shitty Playmobil movie came out. Which unsurprisingly bombed, because nobody outside of Europe cares about Playmobil and because it has no recognisable themes.
>>11563766Literally the only connection is Playmobil figures looking similar to minifigs and the fact that they had their own blind bag series. Other than that there's nothing to compare.
>>11563766We all had minifigs fighting the giants from Playmobil so maybe they became connected in our minds
>>11563759Last of my adventurers sets. Missing hats seems to be a running theme. I didn't bother with all the small sets that came with the minifigsRudo Villano is probably the best villan name lego ever did. Straight out of George Lucas playbook
>>11563766>>11563779Lego & Playmobil have similar reputations of good plastic and good qualityPlaymobil figures all match a set of physics and design, so you can put your cowboy in the space ship. so even if it's not the same building experience as Lego, the actual "playing with" the figures is
>>11563740"Adult sets" are a talmudic scam designed to sell dust collectors that will never get disassembled to redditors.
>>11563792Lego is an adult collector’s item. Don’t pretend otherwise. I might know some kids who have a couple of sets but in general they don’t give a shit
>>11563792And when you do you’ll get a random pink brick you can’t use to moc with because some fag at Lego wanted a cake.
>>11562955Am I insane for thinking old lego was more magical. Every set now has sleek panels and more realistic colours. I liked the crazy fantastical world of exploring aztec jungles and castles in surreal colours, primative shapes that force imagination
>>11563783Wish modern sets had colorful temples like that. Mayan cities used to be painted after all, they're only gray now cuz they're old.
>>11563783Rudo's pants aren't black
>>11563783This was a fun little set. Really needed one more minifig tho>>11563821You're right. I always had him with black pants and gloves I didn't even remember to check the correct way now
>>11563314Listen anon, I'm a huge sonic autist. Have been since I played Sonic 2 on my daddy's model 1 genesis. I also happen to be a huge lego autist and bought a bunch of sets with the purpose of creating a diorama of Green Hills through the power of kit bashing. These sets are better designed than the Mario sets they're doing, but unless you have some sick hole in your soul, it's best to just look away...

What do you think about lego as an investment?I was watching Rudy from Alpha Investment and it seems he has been building a lego position recently and his gameplay is basically buying anything he can get for 30% to 40% off from MSRP and then just wait 4-6+ years. I'm thinking of doing the same, just buying up amazon deals that are 30%+ off and stockpiling them and keeping them sealed. I have the room for it.
>>11564054Its gay
>>11564061I only care if it's profitable. Like if for black Friday amazon discounts the lotr sets by 30% it probably makes sense to just grab 10 of each or something. I can't see them selling bellow MSRP in the future
>>11564054Just get bitcoin. Lego is harder to store and harder to sell for probably less return over 6 years.
>>11564074The idea is diversification. I already have some money in crypto and some money in tcgs (mostly prizes from tournaments I won)
>>11564054Lego will be worthless in a decade or two because the adult bubble will burst

>>11564111Or for you to shut up and ignore?
>>11564110That's my concern as well, but still maybe there is profit to be made in the next 5 to 10 years. I don't see the demand failing yet
You know Lego is catering to everyone, right? There's just as many sets for kids as there are for adults.
>>11564054I wouldn’t because selling it in bulk with good profit is probably impossible
>>11564117Most of them suck
>>11562955Any word on the Pokemon sets? Any more info or pics
>>11563314Apart from the two shitty mech sets (why do Lego keep making these?), the whole Sonic line is awesome. If you are in Britain like me, these sets are very unpopular and I freqently find them in the clearance section at Sainsburys for steep discounts (expect 50% for cheap sets and 30% for expensive sets). So I have all of the sets I care about by now.
>>11564120I just realized that I would have to deal with post and shipping so now I am far less inclined to do it.I'll just continue buying sets I like and open them only if/when I actually have time to enjoy them
>>11564117>There's just as many sets for kids as there are for adultsDon't kid yourself, 20% of Lego's offerings are for adults. This was NOT normal pre-2020, and it shouldn't be normal. They're shifting towards nostalgic manchild paypigs in their 30s and 40s

>>11564291no i dont think so, as you will notice the more you look through the current themes and set pricing, lego are trying to make adult fans a much larger percentage of their demographic and this means appealing to people who want f1they even have collectible f1 minifig series at the moment

>>11564054>What do you think about lego as an investment?Buy gold if you want an investment. It's way easier to manage than massive toy boxes that are dependent on trends.
anybody know a spaceship set with a cockpit similar to this
>>11563882>>11563887Holy fuck I've been out of the loop. Is it worth the price tag?
>>11564293Did they seriously not release ANYTHING for the 20th anniversary of RotS? Maybe they're holding out for 25, but damn I just want my cool Mustafar Duel set
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=30288Why the fuck did I buy this, so that it can be copied by the chinese for crazy mocs? Maybe
>>11564122All 18+ btw, March 2026:LEGO Pokémon 72151 (587 pieces - $59,99)LEGO Pokémon 72152 (2050 pieces - $199,99)LEGO Pokémon 72153 (6838 pieces - $649,99)
>Best Lego dragon ever crafted>Only do it once as part of a set, which results in insane after market pricesI do wonder what is behind Lego's thinking sometimes.I kinda hope that Lego takes the overall concept of Smaug and use it for a Monster Hunter Lego range. Rathalos/Rathian, Zinogore, Nargacuga, Lagiacrus and Fatalis would all be killer sets, especially if they came with minifigures that have Monster Hunter armor.
>when the random bits you buy to fuck around with actually go together kinda wellThink I'm gonna tweak this basic shape a bit and use it for a ship MOC of some sort. Or maybe use it as a gun on a Bionicle MOC.
Are we finally getting minifigs or never ever?
>>11564424>BionicleUh Oh we got a discord troon thinking about Charlie Kirk here
>>11564422Lego Monster Hunter would be dope but it's too niche to include as IP, maybe as an Ideas set but it's unlikely
>>11564458I hate how my childhood favorite toy was co-opted by mentally ill freaks to the point I can't even mention it off-hand in the regular Lego thread.
>>11564458since when has been co-opted by troons, the most I'd seen was maybe a few looose pooners drawing yaoi but no trannies
>>11564420We are getting cheaper sets...r-right????
>>11564490nah man, go clone or go broke
>>11564488Reminder that boobicl fan game was cancelled because of troons on twitter crying about JK rowling
>>11564456Never. If they haven't done it by now, it's never.recap of reasons:--insane amount of molds needed for minifig-scale enemies--big brick built figures, more piece count, more money--needs electronics bling-bling sound effectswill the Poop Noise Brick solve a few of those? it will be expensive without needing piece counts, and if it can poop it can probably bling-bling noise, too. they still need little molded Goombas and stuff thoI find it insanely hilarious that Sonic is crushing Mario in the cooler-Lego-set dual.
>>11564498Well, the smart brick will have electronic minifigs too which will solve the Mario problem. Designers back in 2020 said they wanted to make Mario electronic minifigs but couldn't make the tech work at that size. And all starter courses are retiring in June 2026 with all Mariokart stuff. So we should get a theme restart in the summer since they took a pause for Mario and Animal Crossing in the first half of 2026 to focus on Pokemon but we know they return big in summer.
>>11564293Yep, pretty much everything but the turbo tank is entirely in the wait for clearance sale category. Hell maybe the turbo tank too if its 50%+ off just for parts
>>11564420What the fuck? Why so expensive? Pokemon is an all-ages franchise
>>11564422Hell look at the jp dinosaurs>1/4th are 1 and dones they largely never reuse the parts for again>1/4th are reused nonstop (trex, older raptor, stiggy, triceratops)>1/4th they keep trying to reinvent the wheel and make smaller and cheaper, nonmoving versions of the dinosaurs>1/4th they keep parting out but with exclusive bodies/heads/colorsAnd they know what they're doing by making these desirable dinosaurs but then mostly putting them in meh overpriced sets.
>>11564461>Monster Hunter would be dope but it's too niche to include as IPYou're kidding right. Monster Hunter World sold like over 23 million sales. It isn't niche.
>>11564539>lego jewishness has ramped up significantly over the last year or 2>pokemon company want their piece of the pie>pokemon is currently on a scalper high atm with sneakerfags buying and holding everything pokemonEssentially the stars are aligning to cause some bullshit
>>11564458>troons, discord, and political events brought upout of nowhere >not even any bionicle pieces in the imageprofound mental retardation
>>11564409It looks great but I've been holding off on it until I can find it for a less jewy price. It's been spotted at Costco for 70 which is a lot more reasonable.
Solid brix studios announced he is moving away from star wars content because its too expensive and has other priorities, he plans to sell his collection
>>11564567I used to make mine watch. >>11563954Seriously, what the fuck happened? Bionicles saved Lego and we’re badass circa 2003… how did it become associated and co-opted by “the community”?
>>11563917No thoughts, only dreams
>>11564581>Seriously, what the fuck happened?Samething to every community with a high autist population - the terminally online degenerates took over every fansite and kept pushing their perversions everywhere. doesn't help they have the backing of (((certain interests))) who profit off of them
>>11563846Nuts, does this mean the City Space wave is done for now? This has honestly been my favorite Space IP Ledo did in a good long while.
I just ordered a Lion Knight Castle and want to mount it to a baseplate, but I don't have a bin full of spare parts. I wanted to use stud.io to figure out what pieces I'd need to order, is there a place with finished sets already built in stud.io or do i need to manually build it in the program myself, what am i missing here?
>>11564414and how exactly do you convince them to recast it
back on vacation, chungusnigger
>>11564598That checks. >backing of (((certain interests))) >we wuz kangs… of Gondor
>>11564600I assume so. The only new set in the past year was the modular space ship.I hope they don't totally kill lego space again. But i would like to see more SciFi aesthetics/factions rather than bland nasacore theming and wheelchair astronauts
>>11564411They released the Revenge of the Sith brickheadz.
>>11564600Notice how the original Space logo is a red ship on a yellow planet? You know what else is red? Socialism. What are the colors of the communist flag? Red AND Yellow.Who were their enemies? Blacktron.Their colors? Black AND Yellow.Who's flag is those colors? Libertarians. It's all space politics.
>>11563880My man! The sets were weak, but I love the minifigures and old brown and dark gray.
>>11563880
>>11564645>classic space good guys were commie scumsWtf my childhood is ruined
jang status?
>>11564760Somehow less pathetic than yours.
>>11564293>Shaak Ti hasn't been scene in lego for 17 years>Magnaguard in 16>General Grevious in 5>all of which could easily appear in a cheap set if TLG had the will to adapt anything from legendsbro it's crazy to me that they spent the past half decade making clone wars sets nonstop yet actively refuse to touch anything from legends or the Original multimedia project. Like they were probably more willing to make a set around Outlaws than of 2003 clone wars nowadays
>>11564774
>>11564655The problem wasn't LEGO. you just turned fascist.
>>11564652Lego not even giving us a crumb of Bull knights, not even in a cmf is preposterous
Galidormaxxing
>>11565037Are you the guy from biog with 7 pearl gold visoraks
>>11564652>>11564654Kino, it's fun to armybuild them because they're a ragtag group so they all look different. In my headcanon they really like axes for some reason.
Is there any Animal Crossing Leaks for next year's wave(s)?
>want to get a general grievous figure>a decade old set is somehow still cheaper than a set that came out 5 years ago>The only thing unique about the 2020 version of his starfighter other than the lazy use of Duel on Mustafar Obi wan and it's extortionate MSRP was a single unique clone trooper from a single scene of RotSI hate scalpers.
I just want more Simpsons Lego...
>>11561803I was just there Sunday. I saw all the pieces for the newest BAM exclusives there. Plenty of older pieces too. I like the checkered jacket and surfer hairpiece. Also needed the parrot for a pirate custom I have planned>Question:How does the tarrif situation impact Bricklink? I've had 6 cool customs planned for almost a month now but afraid to order from 100 people and be taxed $3k (hyperbole). How bad is it, really?
>>11564800they made the azure angel a decade agopresumably disney (filoni) prevents lego from making them to lessen awareness of the superior clone wars
>>11565048nah, I'm the guy building the big ass MOC with red Visorak shell legs.
>>11564800>>11565225Ventress Ship shelf-warmed hardyou can probably still find it in droves at the Walmart. That was a Samurai Jack Clone Wars Originaltho it would be funny for Lego to make one and watch it literally fly off the shelves (unlikely since they just included an updated Asajj in some random other set)Zoiks! Like, they could totally make a Shaggy Jedi guy. They already have the hair piece for it. Right Scoob?
>>11565303>giant batch of trans-red bricksIronically enough it’d stand out from a lot of lego star wars stuff currently in production from literally that fact alone, and may have sickos buying it for trans red stuff, also orange right there matches the newer trans orange funny enough, the only real reason why these vehicles or that giant organic one aren’t done is due to spiteful KK insiders and Filoni seething about old canon’s cool designs
The march 2026 wave is entirely smart brick based
can't wait for minifigures to make fart sounds as you bend them over or put them on a toiletall of these toilets in sets, brown frogs, integrated sewage led to this amazing development in Lego
>>11565385I see your type of shitposting all the time. It's boring and extremely cliche. There's nothing worse than someone trying to land a lame joke.
>>11565391you like scat in your legos?
