Post Leaks.
Post MOCs.
Post how shit Lego is nowadays when compared to yesteryear.
Don't make threads early (image limit or page 9/10), stop thread splitting, and stop posting about some shitty FOTM anime you want a theme for because of your thinly veiled porn addiction.

Play well.

Lego is invincible, and they know it

as long as there is a selection of $10 sets to buy kids, as gifts, the cycle will continue. adult fans will get those gifts for kids to share the experience they had as a kid (I know it's different, but that's the idea)

the only way Lego fails, is if they F-up the cheap sets. their FOMO game is top-tier after you've been hooked on a few cheap sets (like drug dealers giving you the first hit for free)

if that set is going to be valuable, it will be for the blank minifigs in (forgive the pun) a rainbow of colors. full-non-printed minifigs are not very common, and that set has one in each of several colors.

it might have a tiny amount of "remember that time when..." value (?) or value AS "the most political thing Lego has ever done, it's insane that they even did that at all" even more that the Queer Eye set, at least that was a popular TV series for many years. Lego Is desperate to get SOMETHING to do with your g-damn phone.

anything.

those sets were just another attempt at some kind of phone tie-in. You're right, tho. they should have done another round of 'em with Castle & Pirates at least

Toys in general now are vanishing in use, it's all about the phones. it's similar to the revolution that destroyed Blockbuster Video and Mail Order Catalogs.

Lego's mistake is putting the development costs into the product. Vidiyo was DOA due to double-priced sets, the new Poop-Noise Brick will fail for a similar reason. it will be too expensive, I can make my own poop noise for what they are charging for that little brick

Lego has never been more popular. The sets designed for kids still go hard. Check out some of the 10-30 friends, or creator. Plus, despite the wailing from fags, a lot of the licensed sets are decent.

>>
>>11563505
They're failing with both. Problem is that the actual interesting sets are adult themed and thus cost a fortune. Kids would love to play with the daily bugle set or the new arkham asylum but who the fuck is gonna but their kid a $300 toy in this economy?

Son the kid sets that are cheaper are reduced to these garbage city themes, which are sometimes ok but boring from a kid's POV. There's Dreamzzzz but honestly that's a bit weird and I don't think kids are even going to know wtf that's all about. Really creator 3-in-1 sets are the most well rounded option atm.

And of course outside of that there's always licenseshit but with the whole IP thing kids might get one or two small cheap sets but never really build a collection, thus never actually getting into the hobby properly.

No they're not lol. And the value proposition is getting worse by the week. Even Lego implicitly admits this. Their Tom Holland advertisement is a call to adults to "never grow up", ie "hey adults, keep buying Lego!" rather than appealing to children, who no longer are interested in physical toys.

>500 pieces for an eight stud wide car that you will NEVER take apart
Lego doesn't want you taking apart the sets. you have to buy another set for that.

I enjoyed Lego best when the sales point for the new set was new hair pieces, torsos prints, or other parts that I could use for MOCs, in affordable sets.

take this Wicked set, 2 new hair pieces, the other one was in only in an expensive Tangled set. do I care about mini dolls? not really. but it's only $30 and maybe I can do something with that coral boat? (I bought it on clearance for $15, it was a total score!)

"good" Lego sets are still being made, but it's hard to ignore the $300+ sets, why does Lego themselves have to rage bait me in the actual store?

I honestly hope you get over your autism and vitriol. Clean yourself up. Do some of that “but mom it’s still clean!” pile of laundry stinking up your cave and toss the half empty Mountain Dew and take out containers away while the spin cycle runs. Go for a walk drink a glass of water and toss that laundry in the dryer.
Small sustainable lifestyle changes anon.
Eat less and exercise more and drink water. You don’t have to go nuts just go for walks to start and don’t eat in the car, fast food or anything from a gas station. That’s not food anon.
A nice girl will start to be interested and maybe someday you’ll have a kid and rediscover your joy for play again.
Hang in there faggot I believe in you.

Why do people keep comparing Lego and Playmobil? They're not the same thing.
Lego is a building block system loved around the world, Playmobil is specifically molded dollhouses and playsets for European kids
The only reason people compare them in earnest, is when that shitty Playmobil movie came out. Which unsurprisingly bombed, because nobody outside of Europe cares about Playmobil and because it has no recognisable themes.
>>
>>11563766
Literally the only connection is Playmobil figures looking similar to minifigs and the fact that they had their own blind bag series. Other than that there's nothing to compare.

You're probably pushing forty and still acting like this. I know Lego meant a lot to you in your youth, but you gotta let it go. Also the fact that you replied immediately to a comment I made a few hours ago means you're terminally online instead of playing with your kids.

>Your assertion that I’m a Lego apologist because I dare suggest kids still play with toys
You're a Lego apologist for saying gay shit like "modern Lego still goes hard!" which probably resonates with the same people who buy the Everyone is Awesome set. Even I know I missed the golden age of Lego I'm not blind to that. Do SOME kids still get Lego? No shit. But the fact that Lego is pulling out gimmicks like the smartbrick shows that they know they're losing to consoles and computers.

What do you think about lego as an investment?
I was watching Rudy from Alpha Investment and it seems he has been building a lego position recently and his gameplay is basically buying anything he can get for 30% to 40% off from MSRP and then just wait 4-6+ years.

I'm thinking of doing the same, just buying up amazon deals that are 30%+ off and stockpiling them and keeping them sealed. I have the room for it.
>>
>>11564054
Its gay
>>
>>11564061
I only care if it's profitable.
Like if for black Friday amazon discounts the lotr sets by 30% it probably makes sense to just grab 10 of each or something. I can't see them selling bellow MSRP in the future
>>
>>11564054
Just get bitcoin. Lego is harder to store and harder to sell for probably less return over 6 years.
>>
>>11564074
The idea is diversification. I already have some money in crypto and some money in tcgs (mostly prizes from tournaments I won)
>>

Apart from the two shitty mech sets (why do Lego keep making these?), the whole Sonic line is awesome.

If you are in Britain like me, these sets are very unpopular and I freqently find them in the clearance section at Sainsburys for steep discounts (expect 50% for cheap sets and 30% for expensive sets).

So I have all of the sets I care about by now.
>>
>>11564120
I just realized that I would have to deal with post and shipping so now I am far less inclined to do it.

I'll just continue buying sets I like and open them only if/when I actually have time to enjoy them
>>
>>11564117
>There's just as many sets for kids as there are for adults
Don't kid yourself, 20% of Lego's offerings are for adults. This was NOT normal pre-2020, and it shouldn't be normal. They're shifting towards nostalgic manchild paypigs in their 30s and 40s

im in holland and purchased that terrible team sonic truck set for 28EUR. the box was badly damaged on the shelf yet it was new and the contents were pristine which is of course the important part. so at that price it becomes a much more attractive set with a... fine build and some good minifigs and robot builds.

creator (cheap, excellent value for money, love the engineering, lots of good bricks)
disney (i play with these with my cousin, super expensive due to licensing but great set variety in terms of princess ip)
ninjago (always classic)
monkey kid (love this theme)

star wars is always good, just too expensive

>Best Lego dragon ever crafted

I do wonder what is behind Lego's thinking sometimes.

I kinda hope that Lego takes the overall concept of Smaug and use it for a Monster Hunter Lego range. Rathalos/Rathian, Zinogore, Nargacuga, Lagiacrus and Fatalis would all be killer sets, especially if they came with minifigures that have Monster Hunter armor.

Never. If they haven't done it by now, it's never.

recap of reasons:
--insane amount of molds needed for minifig-scale enemies
--big brick built figures, more piece count, more money
--needs electronics bling-bling sound effects

will the Poop Noise Brick solve a few of those? it will be expensive without needing piece counts, and if it can poop it can probably bling-bling noise, too. they still need little molded Goombas and stuff tho

I find it insanely hilarious that Sonic is crushing Mario in the cooler-Lego-set dual.
>>
>>11564498
Well, the smart brick will have electronic minifigs too which will solve the Mario problem. Designers back in 2020 said they wanted to make Mario electronic minifigs but couldn't make the tech work at that size. And all starter courses are retiring in June 2026 with all Mariokart stuff. So we should get a theme restart in the summer since they took a pause for Mario and Animal Crossing in the first half of 2026 to focus on Pokemon but we know they return big in summer.
>>
>>11564293
Yep, pretty much everything but the turbo tank is entirely in the wait for clearance sale category. Hell maybe the turbo tank too if its 50%+ off just for parts
>>
>>11564420
What the fuck? Why so expensive? Pokemon is an all-ages franchise
>>
>>11564422
Hell look at the jp dinosaurs
>1/4th are 1 and dones they largely never reuse the parts for again
>1/4th are reused nonstop (trex, older raptor, stiggy, triceratops)
>1/4th they keep trying to reinvent the wheel and make smaller and cheaper, nonmoving versions of the dinosaurs
>1/4th they keep parting out but with exclusive bodies/heads/colors
And they know what they're doing by making these desirable dinosaurs but then mostly putting them in meh overpriced sets.

smart bricks seem completely antithetical to what lego is supposed to be about. You're supposed to use your imagination and build your own stuff using legos. Having "smart bricks" with sound effects personalized to one particular thing goes completely against that.

And cynics can (rightfully) say that lego has forgone its original purpose in favor of catering exclusively to manchildren with disposable income, but the 18+ crowd want big detailed dust collectors for their shitty ikea shelves. They don't want to swoosh around x-wings that make their own sound effects while splashing in the bathtub. So who are these overpriced 100 dollar smart brick sets even for?
