Ok genuine question. Will lego fans buy anything?

Right now i'm having trouble justifying dropping 45$ on an mg gundam sandrock this week. Technically i can afford it, but i have such a big backlog, and painting it will take a couple weeks. Compare that to lego fans who will drop a grand so they don't miss out on a tie fighter polybag.

Are lego fans the furry meme, where all the fursuiters are doctors, engineers, and pilots? If so how do they get the time to build the lego death star?
>>
Basically, yes.
>>
If they were making a big disc, why didn't they make the Millennium Falcon instead?

But they have. Many times.

Yeah because they're going to take pictures of the box to post in reddit and never build it

Everyone is shitting on this set. Lego is in for a rude awakening after this flops.
>>
I still think it looks better than the hollowed-out round one.

Everyone shits on this set just do it because they're dumb and don't actually get it's a display model and not a playset.
That said it will shelfwarm because of the price, even scalpers will hesitate to grab it straight out the gate.

there's literally zero chance of me buying this set because the sales tax alone as a leaf could buy several sets. its about 1450 paying the gubmint their stipend.

but in the cope designer interviews they basically say it's a master builder set except for the name. they just put ultimate collector series on to charge the most exorbitant star wars premium they have. search your feelings you know this to be true. it has a ton of play features even if one of them is as stupid as pulling it apart and moving it to the bottom of the rail it's on (vader's meditation room that could have been an armory or anything else). its for playing with to make you feel like you got $1000 USD out of it, because you will not feel that way looking at it. Especially devoid of figures where its just a slab of empty.

Sad part is I actually really like the master builder series. Star Wars doesn't get enough location-based builds, mainly just a million ships, and it's nice when we finally get builds focusing on interior locations. So in spirit I actually really like the diorama deathstar, but for 1000 dollars it's just not justifiable.

In my mind, the perfect MBS set is the mos eisley cantina. You get a cool build, it folds out like a dollhouse so you have both a good exterior and interior. The different parts of the build can be unhooked and repositioned depending on how you want to set things up. It has an impressive number of minifigs, many with unique alien head molds and whatnot. And it cost like 1/3rd what the deathdisk does.
