Big fan of the boss fight studios sam and max and popeye lines, was wondering if there were any other lines with similarly styled, cartoony figures?
>>11565248Dasin superior
You might wanna check out Animal Warriors of the Kingdom, Mattel Masters of the Universe Origins, Super7 or Mezco One:12 Collective. Maybe Neca Toony or their TMNT cartoon stuff.
>>11565304nta those legs look like shit.
>>11565304Any comparison sources available how this fig would scale with boss fight Oyl?
Boss Fight Garfield, Jada Scooby Doo line and all their food/cereal mascots
>>11565304Do you have images of the figure instead of just photos of the model on display? The leg joints look flimsy, and it lacks more facial emotion.
>>11565248Jada have been doing some solid cartoon stuff with Scooby Doo, Cereal mascots and even Frosty
>>11565794
>>11565796forgot they even made the Flintstones too, but yeah Jada probably have the best cartoon figures at decent prices.Your other options is Super7 which um, yeah, and NECA but they basically only do TMNT cartoon figures nowadays
Premium DNA has Battletoads, Earthworm Jim and Banjo Kazooie lines that are pretty toony
>>11565802It sucks that such a great line was done by Premium DNA... didn't want to be scammed so i missed them.
>>11565887I've never dealt with them, but I've been watching the Battletoads get cheaper on bbts. What's the problem?
>>11565248Come4arts
>>11566191
>>11566191>>11566193OP asked for cartoony. Not stupid designer toys with cloth goods.
>>11566206they look like gorillaz who are on the toony side
>>11565794>>11565799Dang those Scooby Doo figures are good looking>Daphne, Scooby, Sea Demon, and Space Kook for Wave 2I'm on board. Give us the Miner 49er, Captain Cutler ghost, Green Ghost, and Funland Robot too please.
>>11565536>>11566206>>11566223Huh? Bitch? Are you on your period? Did someone rape you?
>>11566332Likely yes for the last question
>>11566119Long story short is that Premium DNA was run by the same guys that ran Megalopolis, and they ran that company into the ground and did a runner with customers money, and they've probably done it again because they tried to rip off the factory making their toys.Longer version, yes, the Westover brothers ran Megalopolis into the ground and ripped off hundreds of customers, and that is easy to research so I won't go into details here. Now as PDNA they put out a few waves of figures (Barnyard Commandos, Madballz, Battletoads and Banjo Kazooie) but their Earthworm Jim figs started appearing on AliExpress last year, they put out a statement saying that those figs had QC errors that they rejected and they will be fulfilling orders soon with a new production run, but that never happened. The thing was that the majority of people who bought the figures off Ali said there were no QC issues (some people did get duds though) and not long after that a rumour started floating around that PDNA hadn't paid the factory, and that to recoup their loss the factory offloaded the entire production run to Ali sellers. And then a few months later, Entertainment Earth (who as a distributor had previously had to sue them for unpaid invoices for stock they had sent to Megalopolis, and ended up settling out of court) cancelled all of their PDNA preorders, presumably after getting strung along by them regarding release dates that never eventuated. Finally, they have gone dead quiet on social media since last year and the PDNA website was supposed to get updated but has been "under construction" for over a year now with no sign of the update, so anybody that ordered directly through them and hasn't done a chargeback has very likely lost their money.
>>11566191Guy on the right reminds me of Tintin. Now I want some decent Tintin figures.
>>11566212Soft goods are way too realistic for a cartoon look.
>>11565643The legs are as tight as a pair of good jeans that he also wears, plus are better range of motion than Boss Fight's. Also he has extra faces, but im not sure what other expression he'd need
>>11567051I would have taken one of those left or right sided open mouthed ones and added a can of spinach eating one, just for the LOLZ
>>11566285>>Daphne, Scooby, Sea Demon, and Space Kook for Wave 2>I'm on board. Give us the Miner 49er, Captain Cutler ghost, Green Ghost, and Funland Robot too please.Oh shit did they announce wave 2? Space Kook is exciting news. As long as we're wishlisting I'd love to army build a couple of black knights in the backgrounds of toon mansion style dioramas. And the witch doctor, but that's unrelated.
>>11566454>anybody that ordered directly through them and hasn't done a chargeback has very likely lost their money.Bummer that we'll never get those mars attacks figures, but upside I did pick up the super7 as a backup knowing that was likely.
I went ahead and bought that General Slaughter when he was $65 on the bbts daily sale. This motherfucker is preposterously huge. It weighs more than the Super7 turtle van. Good lord, look at this thing with Raph for scale.
>>11568317I was really hoping we'd get a huge Queen Slug for a Butt.
>>11567051I admit that it has a wide range of articulations as well as a big variety of accessories to increase the fun, although this version feels too modern and not very far from the classic version, at least I like the Boss Studio version better.
>>11568317Yeah, some of those deep discounts on the excessively overpriced figures are fair but that's just to show that some of those cost too much from the start.
>>11568793If you ask me there's yet to be a perfect Popeye figure. The ideal lies between the Boss fight, Mezco, and Dasin options. Something with the heft of the old Mezco figure coupled with the sculpting of the Boss fight one and the articulation of the Dasin release.
I've got these two on the waydoes that count?
>>11569636>I've got these two on the wayMe too! If they have good quality then I'm gonna get Gru.
>>11569779yeah if the reviews are to be believed, those wil be some awesome figs. The poseability + accessories + moving eyes are going to be tons of fun
>>11569636>>11569878these are made by the same company that makes Labubus
>>11569636They're really nice figures, and big, too.
>>11569008Dasin has the right amount of lankiness, balances the weight in his bulgy forearms, and still translates it into the sleekest toy ever with tight joints. If Boss Fight represents his rugged classic comic look, that's fine, but I think design accuracy is just as much a curse when it is.
I liked the look of this Neca Superbeasto figure, unfortunately itโs like 16 years old, so itโs basically a statue.
>>11566285I'm pretty sure the Daphne was a tease for Wave 3. Wave 2 is just Scooby and the monsters.
>>11574163Shame we havent yet figured out how to articulate sexy-cute designs like this. I'm sure the japs could do it, but as far as western efforts go we havent seen much progress. I keep thinking of how terribad the DCD BTAS figures were.>>11569954My big gripe with dasin popeye are the undersized forearms and the odd facial profiles. Boss Fight's releases had better head sculpts and overall proportions, but I hate that hinge joint articulation they so heavily rely on.
Tunshi Studio's Metal Slug line has cartoony aesthetics, but far from Popeye style...>>11569878>>11569928I should get mine delivered tomorrow. Can't wait, those are going to be my first figures with movable eyes.
>>11576603Got 'em, they are quite big, which is a plus and a minus at the same time. They will look good on their own, but I'm afraid they won't scale properly with other figures from Gong.Anyways, in person they look even better than in promos. Figs got this premium feel to them, sadly, my Judy is missing silver paint on her left foot.
>>11565799That's a good Shaggy
>>11576603Why did they have to do that to fio's face? Why couldn't she match the rest of them with a slightly goofy face?
>>11587359Because they based their designs on Metal Slug XX.
