The fact Catwoman doesn't have her alternate head with hair coming out of the mask is a shame. McFarlane is so stingy now with accessories on $35 figures, just because he knows he can get away with it.

And presumably when the license moves to Mattel, it'll be people posting about Mattel. Unless they botch it, then it'll go back to mostly not existing like it was before Todd
>>
I've been messing around with the LPZZ Arkham Knight Batman figure and it's pretty good. Its biggest flaw is that the wires on the cape don't appear to tuck in anywhere so that hinders the function of the wires a bit. They're apparently rebranding as U-P-Fine Figures which is the worst name I've seen for a figure company

I'm not sure where to put the Returns wave. I think it might be time to make room for another shelf.

Todd hates gay people.
>>
>>11569394
Lmao, cope and projection. If you've been collecting for any meaningful period of time, 20 figures is nothing. I've been collecting for 15 years and have way more than 20 figures. If that's all you can fit in your studio apartment more power to you, but I own a house and have a whole room dedicated to my nerd stuff, including toys, games, and a space to do art.

Tell me about the Batman Returns wave...why did McFarlane even underproduce THAT when it was OBVIOUS it would sell gangbusters? What is wrong at McFarlane Toys? Do they not want to make money? Are they somehow losing money on each figure sold or something?

No one of us mere mortals can ever comprehend todds buisness savy. Todd is the elon musk or donald trump of the toy industry. A self made man blazing a trail of his own, on a journey of his own, to a destination we can only hope to hear of once he arrives there.
>>
>>11569651
Dude, Todd could just keep manufacturing, he has his own store, they'd sell tons still.

four mcfarlanes at the old 24.99 was only ten bucks bucks cheaper than that
yes it's shitty and exploitative and I hate it too but if you want to talk about overpriced it's still cheaper than a single mafex
we both know those preorders will get cancelled and I won't end up paying anything for them

Is it just me or is the red Swamp Thing, maybe even all of them, pretty much impossible to stand?
>>
>>11569924
There are Mafexes for under 100 at BBTS. Some new ones like Poison Ivy and Scarecrow are ~$114 so its roughly the same as those 3 McFarlanes for much better engineering. That said I don't typically like Mafex's house style for DC so I tend to steer clear. While I do like Todd's house style, he made it very easy for me to cut back heavily due to him shifting to mostly either mold reuse Batman designs, villains dressed as Batman, or weird D and E listers from the mid 20th century in between a few actual interesting figures like Steph, Cyborg Supes or Swolecrow.

>>11569927
Most Megafigs don't stand well. Hell, many of the regular figures don't stand safely (ie risk of shelf dives) without the hockey pucks. 1/10 scale is just too heavy and too big, but that is the scale Todd chose so we have to live with it to collect the line.

>>
>>11569945
>1/10 scale is just too heavy and too big
this is a you problem. plenty of similarly sized figures in other scales stand fine and prove you wrong.
>>
>>11569927
Yeh, that one specifically is tricky to stand due to heavy upper body and awkward foot design and sometimes weak ankle rockers. Use a stand or a wide stance leaning the torso forward just slightly to counter the heavy back. Make sure both feet are flat and firmly on the surface.
>>
>>11569945
Standing is really only an issue with some of the megafigs, most of the regular stuff is fine.
>>
>>11570102
>>11570323
You risk shelf dives if you do not use the hockey pucks. A McFarlane will stand "fine" for 2 months without one and then suddenly shelf dive. If you do use the hockey pucks then you are just saying the same thing as me.

>>
>>11570353
>A McFarlane will stand "fine" for 2 months without one and then suddenly shelf dive.
I honestly can't see something like this happening, it being fine for MONTHS and then taking a tumble, unless you jostle the shelf or something.
>>
>>11569964
soon
we will goon
>>
>>11570409
I've had it happen with no known jostle of the shelf. The weight can gradually exert pressures on the unratcheted joints like the torso joints and toe hinges to shift weight--especially those toe hinges which if they bend forward even a little bit can cause a dive with no puck.

The toe joints are not always stable on all mcfarlanes obviously. There's a range based on QC chance and your specific figure. Some come pretty loose, some come super tight, some in the middle. Some toe hinges on some of my mcfarlanes barely move unless I force them, and others are floppy and move on their own, some seem in the middle.

And the torso moving a little bit can also cause a dive since it causes a weight shift. More likely to happen the heavier the upper body is. Very unlikely to happen on normal female figures but some stuff like figures with heavy wings can be top heavy. Obviously balancing them backwards can help so if they fall they go backwards but their legs can kick out figures in front of them if they fall backwards as well so still could lead to another figure in front of them taking a dive. Generally I try to secure top heavy figures much better than normal ones even with the puck. A few like the early Armored Superman are so top heavy they can actually lift the puck itself if posed in certain ways.
>>
total ratchet joint death
my troika can only lean like michael jackson sinces theres like only 8 grooves or whatever
>>
>>11570456
What's wrong with 8 grooves if they all work?
>>
>>11570471
theyre all in shitty locations
>>
Back in the 90s nothing had ratchet joints, it was smooth friction. Why did they move away from friction joints?
>>
>>11570396
