Is Mega dead? Is Mattel Brick Shop replacing it? Are we getting more sets? Did Lego kill Mega for good? Who knows! >>11570097They should get the Aliens license back and do actual sets, an alien queen and a few xenos were not enough
>>11570097I hope this is legit
>>11570126The dropship to pair with the Halo Pelican would be a dream come true. I honestly can't believe they had the license and didn't do it.

>>11570147something will be sold - why not this
>>11570583What
>>11570583because Mega blocks are a mega flop no one buys them
>>11570147 Matty has already farmed He Man off to LEGO or Playmobil. I mean why use old molds on a line they own and make more? You must be joking. That is almost as delusional as the HALO fags.
>>11570729 Actually MEGA did fine.. But Mattel let continual bad distribution and decisions kill it except for faggots building oversized hotwheels and overpriced Squid Games bullshit. I love the figures I have but they have fucked their base. I expect them to continue that.
>>11570744you retards keep forgetting mega was going bankrupt before Mattel bailed them out. mega will never be a rival to Lego it was always an inferior bootleg and failed with it's video game licenses
>>11570097whoa wth? RE Legos???

>>11570097James Bond would be a dope license for Mattel Brick ShopPost licenses you want MBS to do!I'd also like more Fallout and Elden Ring.
>>11571210 Bond is to "adult" and kind of Dated. Alien / Alien Earth, well that's got possibilities. Robocop is cool but Robocop singles and Ed are the only 2 from the line.
>>11571210Men in Black

>>11571210>licensesMattel Brick Shop should be divided in 3 cores:>boys>girls>adultsBoys themes should be:>Masters of the Universe>Hot Wheels>Halo>Gears of War>Resident Evil>Fallout>Elden Ring>GTA6Girls themes:>Monster High>BarbieAdults themes:>Aliens>Robocop>Terminator>Horror films like Halloween, Friday 13th, etc.>GI Joe>Any old boomer IPI also think they should get a Pokemon replacement. I think YuGiOh or something anime. Anime themes can work well because there will be some Lego won't do like DBZ, One Punch Man, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer (popular right now).
>>11571210Castlevania - Vampires, Werewolves, Skeletons, Mummies, Ghouls, Mermen.. and many more monsters. A classic video game series that everyone knows, and the Netflix anime has recently renewed interest in the franchise, and a new video game is reportedly in the works. DC - Look for this to happen sooner or later. DC Lego sets are declining in popularity and fewer sets are being released. Lego is focusing more on Marvel. Lego fans are tired of Batmobiles. Mattel already has a long-standing licensing partnership with Warner Bros, and has recently reacquired the rights to make DC action figures.
Any chances we get some updates at NYCC?
>>11571210Alot of anons already named a ton I wanted to see. I definitely want MOTU to return, same with TMNT (but that's probably a pipe dream at this point), Power Rangers could be cool but the brand's just not in a good place right now. Naruto, DBZ, OPM, The Boys, and Invincible all seem like obvious Pokemon replacements (that appeal to a similarly varied range of collectors) but it just hasnt happened yet. Personally I still really want Thundercats, Robocop, Warhammer, Street Sharks, and Dino Riders.
>>11571620>Robocop is cool but Robocop singles and Ed are the only 2 from the lineWith how well the game was received I would earnestly argue Robo has strong enough legs to merit a blind bag series and multiple waves worth of sets. He's got 40 years of tie in media worth covering, and alot of it would make for awesome sets. You can base smaller sets off the old cartoons, mid range sets off the sequels, and large sets based off the original movie.
>>11573034The MOTU movie comes out next summer. It'd be weird if we dont see anything for that.
>>11573039I hope they go all in for the movie, atleast 6-7 sets
>>11573082It will probably be just one set that will be exclusive to Mattel Creations and cost $120, and it will include another He-Man, another Teela and another Man-At-Arms.
>>11573335That would be dissapointing

More BrickShop sets will be revealed on October 4, said to be for "car enthusiasts and brand fans alike". I expect more HW though there are some saying we might get something Halo related too.

>>11574099are these CoD-fig scaled? >>11577436a real shame. I think they're making licensed sets under a different name. There's so many off brand block sets now. But I seen a few recently that reminded me of mega. The build, the packaging, the colors and labeling. Like it came straight out of Monreal.
If they were smart they would get the license before the other 2 movies release

>>11583413While a great set it always bugged me that the Kodiak gun has no traverse, only elevation. Never played Halo Wars 2 myself but saw plenty of my brother's matches to know the game Kodiak didn't have to be entirely pointed towards its target. I get that there would've been design challenges but surely they could've found a workable solution; even if it required special pieces, they never shied away from that route. Also disappointed the Grizzly never got a set, literally every single other Halo Wars vehicle did.

So, as someone who has never bought or built a Brick Shop set before, I just finished building the Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar and I've got to say I'm impressed. Lego will have some competition if Mattel branches out into different themes, or poaches 3rd party licences that have been a staple of Lego for decades (like Star Wars). There were only two major flaws I had with the build:1. Stickers are awful. Instead of stickers, Mattel should just stick extra blocks that have pad printing along side parts that don't. Then everyone gets the option of which one they prefer.2. One of the red pieces for the car seat was discoloured. Not only was it a slightly different shade of red, but it also had black streaks mixed in with it. Looks to be a quality control issue. This was the only piece that had it, but this is also my first Mattel Brick Shop set, so in terms of first impressions this was a big letdown. I hope this isn't a common issue. For those that are wondering if Mattel bricks are compatible with Lego bricks. From the limited Lego I have right now (I've only just started to get back into it this past month), I can say yes, but it is currently inconclusive. I need to do more tests, but the platform piece for Lego minifigs clicked in like Lego.Mattel Brick Shop sets appear to give you more bang for your buck when it comes to the plastic pieces. Plus they make some unique pieces that would be extremely handy for terrain and structures. I did notice a slight difference in colour when connecting the black platform piece to the black pieces for the Cadillac GTP Hypercar, the best way I can describe them is that they're not black, but the darkest shade of grey you could imagine. As a side note for the other colours, the red and blue is different Lego's red and blue. This might make for interesting shade techniques when combining brands. All in all Mattel has what it takes to go toe to toe with Lego, providing they don't just stick to cars.
Custom Construx figures.
