Are people gonna keep calling every Goku from now on a 3.0? If we entertain their number use logic wouldn't this be a 4.0 by their logic? Compared to the Krillin/Ultimate Gohan articulation, the neck, shoulders, soft gi, ab crunch, thigh flap, knees and boots hinge are all different. Wide distribution and turning it into the default is what makes it a numbered release. All 1.0 Goku bodies were practically the same, all 2.0 Goku bodies (SRoE, LBS, SS3, SSB, SS2) etc are fundamentally the same/similar.
The Ultimate Gohan mold was really only used for him. So whether I'd call the Games Begin Goku a 3.0 depends entirely on whether every new Goku we get after this point will use this basic body plan as a default, or if they'll go for something new again.

The ultimate Gohan articulation was also used for Cell saga Krillin he was just a shrunk version of him. SS4 Goku had the legs but a unique top with no gi. There's also a bunch of unique molds that aren't standard gi like SS4 Vegeta, Trunks, buffku that people would group with this era. The daima adult figures and games begin does feel like the next era if you were to group them in such a way by the numbers.

I think these 2 Goku in the near future on the new body is really likely. They made a new blue Vegeta from the tv series and there isn't a matching blue Goku yet. The blue Broly movie Goku with the other belt is what we have currently. A late base Goku for Cell/Buu saga doesn't exist outside of the 1.0 and they can give it a halo. They can make the body a darker orange than games begin. I think this one is more likely than a straight sroe redo cause the 1.0 is much older.

Eh, SS2 was pretty grounded and Toriyama spent more than half of DBZ hinting that Gohan had some kind of untapped potential...so it doesn't feel like nearly as much of an ass pull as SS3 did. Though, to be fair, a lot of Dodoria's crunch was in the hips rather than the torso, and he has 2 points to work with there. In the same sense, Buu's back arch is literally non-existent, but again, that's all in dodoria's waist articulation.

Wanted to get something that would be under a hundred after shipping, and Fat Buu was something that wasn't just another version of a character I already had, also my collection doesn't have any Buu saga representation yet. Seemed like a good choice for those factors. Definitely low on box storage space now, though, biggest box of any DB figure I've got so far, dethroning Dodoria
Also not really going for a new computer, just a new part for it.
Game I play just updated with a new engine and now I'm getting a GPU error when I launch it. And unfortunately that game has me in a terrible sense of stockholm syndrome so I figured it was about time to upgrade.

my only real complaints about him are

Also mine's flab crunch seems off, like his torso isn't quite centered right. When I lean him forward the right side of his little vest thing touches his belt, but the left side is like, noticeably higher for some reason. Any attempts I've made to adjust this feels like I'm gonna break it so I stopped doing that.

The ones he has are good, but he could use a neutrally unhappy face. They're all smiles, but Buu does frown plenty. Also would have been nice if at least one head had his antenna thing in the ch9ocolate beam position. Or just engineered a little rotation into it. It might have looked off, but I think they could have done it. This would have also opened up more expressive head poses.

Like, it's good for what they did with it, but I don't know, with Proud Namekian Piccolo and Teen Gohan, I've been kind of spoiled by what I personally see as better cape engineering. But, again, only so much they can do with how Buu is designed
Otherwise, it's mostly up to preference. Buu was never really my favorite DB villain in any of his forms, Kid Buu was my favorite amongst them but SHF doesn't have one of those yet and I'm a lazy fuck who doesn't want to go looking for 3rd party.

He's definitely the weirdest absence in the entire line in my opinion.
Like, semi-perfect Cell? A glaring absence, but one that makes a little bit of sense by comparison. He's probably the least iconic form of Cell aside from power-weighted.
But Kid Buu is literally the final boss of the original Z. And it's not like he poses some weird engineering challenge like some characters do. like trying to get Goten and Trunks to do the fusion dance poses without wigging out their proportions
Faces aren't hard, they clearly don't have any issue with the antenna, and he's not even ridiculously small.
It really does not make sense that they haven't made him yet.
So he's definitely iconic enough to warrant a figure
He presents no engineering challenges
They could probably get first form Frieza prices out of him if they included a few stretchy-limb accessories.
People want him, and he's not niche like Janemba or a lot of other fan-favorite choices.
At this point I'm convinced that they'll come out with an Evil Buu before they do Kid Buu.

I had that dual SS set (mainly for Goku) when it came out until early last year when I finally got around to selling them. The crazy part was around 2020 your only option for a SS head was the awakening Goku one which didn't really look good on the other bodies. Then they did the full power Goku which didn't look great either. After that other 3p were making Gokus but at the point I didn't bother with any of them.

Absurd unless the figure is undesirable, but that's not really their fault, these guys can't exactly afford to stay in one spot or sell long runs, it increases their likelihood of getting shut down.
The aftermarket is horrible though, the scalpers know once the initial stock is gone, it's their market (unless there's a rerelease, which you can't count on).

Yeah, that's what I though too. He's a bit bulkier and his hair is bigger. I always considered him to be Grade 2, maybe he should technically be a bit bulkier to be accurate but he's still larger. The hair on the new one looks exactly like he did when he fought 19.
