Do these scale with other lines? It's weird that they're focusing on these variants and more obscure characters rather than trying to prioritize completing iconic ship crews
>>
I was quite excited for these, but when I saw the prototype photos at SDCC it dampened it quite a bit, the faces looked pretty off from the renders and the articulation looks very basic. Will just have to wait to see how the first wave turns out.

This seems like the characters you would put in wave 10 of a line that is already selling gangbusters. Highly illogical.

Could someone explain what those little arms that come with Bem are? The description has them as "inner arms" but what does that mean? I tried to look at descriptions and videos of the character but sas none of these squiggly arms. Sounds fun that certain parts attach via magnets, but hopefully that doesn't remove existing articulation.

I'm a customizer and love repainting heads so as long as the sculpts are solid I'm still in. That kind of dirty texturing always looks like ass unless it's applied carefully, but since toys are mass produced it's always rushed and looks awful. The Kirk figure looks alright.
Articulation is a ridiculous thing to be concerned with. Most of these characters are going to be old people in uniforms, not venomized spider man ninjas that need to be crouching and able to suck their own dicks. Better to have a stronger figure sculpt than butcher it with fifty million joints.

>T'Pol
>Dr. Selar (headswap T'Pol on the first female science officer in a TNG uniform they release)
>rumors of a Ro Laren
>the TNG crew in naval uniforms
>naval uniform Ro Laren (headswap extra Ro head onto extra Troi)

That's my plan. What's yours?

Maybe I'll get TOS Kirk if the line survives to wave 4 or whichever one he's in. But not sure he'd fit in my collection, I don't have like a tv characters shelf or anything

I'm planning on printing a holodeck archway and putting it against the back of a shelf, then using yellow tape to make the grid on the walls. That way I can put whatever I want in there. Set up modular dioramas, cycle other characters and franchises in and out, literally endless possibilities. I want this line to succeed so badly.

That pose and that angle just look so wrong.

Thoughts on Exo-6? Personally they’re the best Star Trek toys ever made. Finely detailed uniforms with solid likenesses for the most part.

Speak for yourself;
yes, Carol Marcus is probably that
but the Romulan Commander,
as just one example,
not so much.

I don't need kaiyodo articulation, but can we at least get a ball at the waist?

>>11575428
Damn, I can't believe I never watched the USS Cowabunga series.

I agree with >>11575511
Even if you like them, which is fine, it's just not a great placement, the style clashes.
Other that that though, this is incredible.
You know, usually I'm not a fan of the just standing there display pose, but this looks really good. I wonder if it's because they often stand around in trek to begin with, it's the natural pose for the series.
>>
>>11575540
I would watch that show.

My one observation, sincerely meant, is that these looked like posed statutes. Because of the quantity, unless you start to edit or end up with more space - without adding more figures accordingly - these will likely always end up looking like posed statues, no matter IF or HOW you may move them in the future OR move them now.
Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I wouldn't invest in things that have XX points of articulation, etc., if what I am ending up are figurines don't move.

Looks like they have a TOS wave 3 waves deep which is odd to say the least. Unless wave 1 is TNG, there's no reason to not start with something like this.
>>
>>11575319

They purposefully made a bunch of lesser known characters/variants for Wave 1 because every figure line always starts with the "usual suspects" right off the bat (Kirk, Spock, Picard, Data) and then fizzles out.
