After a flood and selling bunch, I have condensed my collection a lot and I really like the set up. I wanted to see what you guts think and would love to see your displays of 40k stuff. I want to get into Joytoys, but they are very small by comparison to the Bandai and McFarlane.

>>11580542>on the floor manSome of us own furniture, not just toys.
>>11580739This. Try to get something similar but covered with glass. Dusting big collection like that is a pain in the butt. Stuff being sealed reduces the dust accumulation tremendously.>>11580521Joytoy WH40k is in smaller scale for them to make vehicles and larger monsters.
>>11580521>>11580533Seeing these displays just highlights how much of a clusterfuck my shelves are.

>>11583755>>11583760Nice to see someone who collects stuff other than Marvel Legends and DC.Yolopark just showcased prototypes of their new Beastwars line, this may be something you could be interested in. Never had a single things from them, so no idea about the quality they are selling.
>>11583772God I wish the variants for these weren't so expensive now.
>>11583772For best effect use black-lighting on it at night.
>>11583775>non-transforming model kitsInteresting that they're going for show accurate figures, Ill keep an eye on the finished product but space is a real issue for me. I probably shouldn't have dipped into the Transart MP scales but they were just too nice. Im still waiting on Depth Charge from them but apparently people have been mean on the internet about their figures and the whole series might get dropped.
>>11583788Just for you
>>11580521How did you manage to make it look too much and too little at the same time? Too many toys to be a tasteful but too few to be exciting.

>>11583792It's perfect now.
>>11583760Kino as fuck.
>>11583829Well I downsized me collection a lot. I used to own every Jojos thing. Like unironically probably 90% of their giant SAS line. It was too much. I needed cash for school. So I sold them all, all my pretty much the entire Jakks Sonic line, numerous MP Transformers, anything other than the core of whatever line I liked. And my PR stuff I would never sell because it just makes me happy and I told child me that one day I would own them all and none would be broken as all I ever had was a torn to shit Dragon Zord. I was going for a minimalist kind of thing with all the series I collect. Do I need every Ultramarine type in all the colors of the rainbow? No. Just three. Do I need every Zoid from all the shows I watched as a kid. No Liger and BF is fine. Do I need all the MP TF, no Optimus is fine. Do I need EVERY person a Jojo has ever talked to? No Ill just sell everything and collect the BIG line. Kind of did the little asian woman "Does this spark joy"
I enjoy looking at everyone's collections.
>>11584689Are you an in box collector only or do you just store them that way?
>>11584689For Jojos I was like "Once I get everything Ill display them." Then never did. >>11580521>>11580533 Those are mine. My best friend keeps everything in box and I always joke with his MP Transformers, dude, there could just be rocks in those boxes and you would never know. I am actually a out of box guy. I keep all the boxes in my closet for necessary resell though. IMO toys, unless specifically from a "this was my childhood and I want to remember the toy isle." or "I will resell this" perspective should be out and posed. Problem is, I have a smiggy of the tizzy, and everything has to be near to perfect for me. Those Jojos would have taken me months to actually be happy with. Posing a single figure takes hours. And even then, I repose and repose because they aren't perfect in my eyes. In fact those Ultra Marines have been bugging me for days. Saw a pic related as I was looking at the other Bandai figures and am stealing this pose from a Youtuber. I really need to learn "It's good enough, stop fucking with it."
>>11583755>Botcon Deathsaurus>Botcon Waspinators>BB and StarscreamThis collection is so based
>>11585373Thanks, there's an Antagony, Double Punch and Sandstorm in there too. Just need a couple more to complete the set. Bonus pic of a little dollhouse room I put together for a friends cafe.
>>11585748based. I just ordered a whole bunch of this kind of stuff from aliexpress to do something similar.did you get that rinab statue from anywhere?
>>11586882I think the statue, vending machines, mahjong set, shiba, and some of the bottles were gacha but the rest is all cheap ass aliexpress stuff. I noticed some of their stuff is recast gachas though you could probably find it on ali too.
>>11584689This is super cool. The jojos packaging displays so well. Im always torn between opening boxes to display or keeping some sealed. I almost feed bad opening vintage boxes.
>>11586908I love seeing battle displays so much.Once I get enough Sexy Ice stuff and Inart Monke figs, will do more displays like this.
>>11585748This diorama brings me much happiness.
>>11580531>>11580533I like your Lovecraft and Zoids. I recognise the Nylarhotep and Cthulhu, but where are the tentacle beast (Shub-Niggurath?) and Kings in Yellow fron?
>>11587197The Lovecraft stuff is mostly from an artist on Etsy, RumtucketTradingCo. He did the King in yellow, the Migo, the migo larva in amber, and the large Elder Thing. I talk to him on occasion and he's a great dude. I really wanted him to do a commissioned I Have no Mouth and I must Scream statue, but he sadly doesn't do small commissions. Strangely, no one has really done one as far as I know.
>>11587197The Shub was a different artist on Etsy, DarkFantasySculpture. I liked his works a lot, but for the most part I wanted more toned down monsters. A good number of his statues are cool, but they are mainly just teeth and tentacles. I know there is no "offical design" for Lovecrafts monsters, but too often I feel renditions use tentacles and teeth as the easy route. The Elder Thing and Migo were both based on Lovecrafts hand drawn designs. DarkFantasySculpture only has pic related he's currently selling and I don't know how well he is doing. Last I talked to him he told me things were hard as he is based in Mexico and his statues are now tariffed hard as it's considered drop shipping or something.
>>11587427Oh and one cool thing about DarkFantasySculptures works is that they are made different. Somehow these sculptures are all some sort of bendable plastic. Nothing can break. I can drop that Shub and only the base would break off. I can bend every tendril and tooth 90 degrees and it will just spring back into place. No idea how he does it, but he need to patent it. Might be already a well known thing and companies just don't do it for some reason.
I ordered this on AliExpress and didn't expect to get it and the order just got cancelled, womp womp. Recommendations for like the exact same thing? I can't seem to find it, there's a bamboo one that's just a little shorter in width unfortunately but nah.
>>11587433those are cool anon, do they have a name?
>>11590639aren't those just SD gundam kits but painted?
>>11590639>>11590659Some are sd gundam, gamera is from then theres super robot wars combatler, the two little robots are from a doyusha line, gamera is a parochenman (pull back motor) kit and Tetsujin is aoshima he’s magnetic so you can put him on your fridge or on can goods>small collection for a small living space
>>11590381goin fuckin nutshow dare they show me the perfect piece of furniture and then have it just not existthe closest i've found is a Bamboo version that's 8" shorter on the length
>>11591153holy shit i might have found it on amazon and I don't even care that it's triple the price
I finally got some new seating in this room, and I dusted. If anybody wants to see closeups of the shelves, I'll do that, but I dont want to spam up the thread.
Moving in with my gf and the apartment won’t have room for a toy shelf My folk have a sea-can on their acreage so the collection will have a safe place to stay but I won’t see it :/
>>11591516I find it hard to believe that you wo t have room for at least one shelf to display your collection. Just be honest and say you're pussy whipped and your girl won't LET you display your collection in HER apartment.
messy, but eh. can't be bothered to take an updated pic
>>11591626Love the Springer, Astrojet, and Cosmos. Whenever I see that Springer I think of Thew the Youtuber and his top 10 bot review. >"And number 1 is Springer... because he's good...." I joke with people about my Jojos stuff when they question who my favorite is. I say Giorno, but Joseph is everyone's favorite. It's like "What is your favorite condiment on a burger?" It's objectively ketchup, but it's everyone's favorite, so it doesn't say much. Out of the lot, Cosmos is my favorite, but I always hated his two little exhausts. Something is just so satisfying about a perfect circle with Transformers.
>>11591595Yeesh this is why collectors get a bad rep I don’t want a toy shelf in my kitchen/living room & the bedroom’s too small
>>11591740How fucking small is the bedroom where you can't fit a small bookcase in there? Years ago when my girl and I moved into a tiny ass apartment, I was able to use a small shelf to display a portion of my collection. You're juat too much of a pussy to do it.

>>11593837>Robot Toysyeesh
>>11587100Man this is awesome. Where did you get those?
>>11594113I was quite late to the party so had to use BBTS, 5kToys, Aliexpress, some French and Belgian online stores. Once I caught up, I started using Gundamit. Shipping from USA to EU was expensive as fuck.

>>11594186UK actually. I do collect other stuff.
It's kind of a clusterfuck right now. I think I'll just box like half of them and only display the ones that make sense together.
>>11591445What's in that cubby area? And what kind of display boxes are those in there?
>>11580739I've had to dust figures even in glass cabinets.
>>11594561>what kind of display boxes are those in thereJust some random clear acrylic display boxes I got from Amazon. I think theyre used to display football helmets or something.
>>11594219i truly pity you for being into more than 1 shonen series
>>11595091Its hurts. I used to complain about there not being enough figures for the shows I watched. Now there are too many. I still have JJK, CSM and Dandadan ones coming.

>>11595752I went with a combo of the Ikea MILSBO x3 and RUDSTA x1 along with that gigantic hardwood cabinet for the Beast Wars stuff that was left behind in the house when I bought it. Rudsta gives you a good chest height flat surface top and the cabinets are nice and solid with holes for running lighting wires. In terms of preserving gold/brown plastic and the vacuum metallic the main thing is to avoid UV exposure to reduce the precipitation of plasticisers and the breakdown of surface bonds. Beast Wars toys tend to be pretty good in this regard generally, I haven't noticed a difference between the Takara Tomy and Hasbro toys, although most of mine are Takara Tomy. >Don't expose your toys to direct sunlight, I put in a small skylight and diffuse the light coming through my window.>Keep the temperature as stable and cool as possible as big changes in temp causes metallics to crack as the material expands and contracts underneath.>Avoid keeping the collection air tight, I open the doors of my cabinets every day to let any fumes blow off. >Moisture and humidity can also accelerate surface decay and delamination of the metallics >Buy from places like Mandarake; they take the best pictures and always show any damage or wear. It's always easier to maintain a pristine surface, decay tends to be exponential. The climate in Nippon is on the cooler/milder side and the previous owners usually take very good care of the toys. >Avoid purchases from very humid and hot locations (ironically I live in Australia) Yeah where the neolithic / ancient toys at.
>>11595881If I already have vacumn metal flaking, is there anything I can do to seal the rest of it in before it gets worse?
>>11595919You're pretty fucked unfortunately, once the peeling starts it'll all rapidly delaminate. The only think you can do really is mask as much of non metallic areas with something like silly putty and use a few layers of topcoat to try and reseal and stick the rest down a bit.
>>11595752>For the second to last anon, the shelves i'm wondering about are the clear ones and then the floating shelves (including the box ones) in the bottom left pic)In that pic, I have Detolfs, but above the detolfs are black Baseball bat display cases. I got them from Michael's a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure they still sell them. As for the cases in that cubby area, they're just random acrylic cases I got from Amazon (picrel). I've had those white shelves for like 15 years. I think i got them from Ollie's during a sale.
My current collection of stuff, I need to get some new units with less empty space at the top.
