Thank you, though I don't see the hands included in there, unless they're in the kit with the feet and bigger spire but not pictured. Still, the face alone looks like it's worth grabbing, and I like that cannon quite a bit.
I currently only own the Kingdom Galvy (first run with the shoulder misassembly that I've been too scared to attempt to fix myself) and have been debating on whether or not to go with the SS86; I've finally decided to go for it, so it would be nice to grab some bits to spruce him up as much as possible.

good news: local Walmart (which started carrying Blockees with wave five) finally got in wave 6 (which is a traditional TF wave not a TF One wave). And they were $5 instead of the $9 my local comic shop charged for them!

Sadly, they had two boxes, both of which had been picked through and about twelve boxes left between the two. So I got nine of them and here is what I got

Dirge x2
Sunstreaker x2
Swoop (robot mode)
Megatron IDW version
Wheeljack
Kickback/Insect mode Shrapnel
Shattered Glass Ratchet

All together a decent haul. I never got the G1 Megatron from the first wave so IDW Megatron works as a replacement Megs. Sadly Ramjet and Thrust seem to be only available in the deluxe Blockee waves so I will be using Dirge as a generic Seeker trooper. But the big thing is Shattered Glass Ratchet; I think I'll repurpose him as Pharma and put him with the Decepticons.

Mini-bug Shrapnel is nice and I hope we get the rest of the Insecticons bug modes as extras.

Anyone got any ideas for a playset/display for the Blockee figures? Do they scale well with the Titan playset modes?

Not sure who you're thinking of as being tortured by Guzzle and Roadbuster, but if we're talking about IDW's first continuity, then Outback was already dead before their comics launched. He was the guy whose half-destroyed corpse was kept around by Kup while he was insane in his spotlight. Later on, there were flashbacks showing that before the war, he tried to assassinate Drag Strip at a racing event, and at some point became a cop so he could have the opportunity to brutalize and kill more Decepticons.

The Marvel UK version of Outback was much more sympathetic, but there was really only one good story about him.
>>
>>11583044
Looks nice enough, but I've already got so many good G1 Optimus Prime figures that I don't really see the need for another one unless it does something really unique or interesting.

it should be noted that outback was supposed to have a large role in the main events that started the war, but due to being used in spotlight kup, outback had to be replaced by a generic named fastback.

I get they wanted to do an all in one celebration design but by adding in everything they muddled the design so it looks cheap. He needed another cleanup draft instead of the design they stuck with. It just seems like weird coping over what is actually a very conservative take on Optimus Prime. Maybe too conservative. It's not as impressive as MP-10 was when it came out but it's the best Optimus we've gotten in years by the looks of it.

After MP-44 it's still sort of refreshing, though Siege and Earthrise make it less so. It looks great but it's not making much of a statement. A more distinct head sculpt would have gone a long way, even if it were a swappable one.
>>

Yes, and that's because the "Megatron: Origin" mini-series was going to kill him off in the distant past, which you can't do if another comic already killed him off in the recent past. What the heck was up with early IDW being so dead-set on wanting to kill off Outback in the past?

>putting on the DNA

I really think the kit would function a lot better if not for the fact that the basic figure is just problematic with the part tolerances and tensions.

The new chest ended up not working as intended (to be tabbed into the back where the original chest failed to do)

While the new faces look good but the eye socket is just slightly off towards the back and there is nothing to secure the faceplates in so it shakes with the light piping part if you touch it.

But the additional tail segments and the moving hand are excellent even if they're a bit blur in details

I really don't know if I got my money worth with the kit though

Not to mention legacy is the only time this mold has been used so I don't think it is not unlikely they will be releasing another copy of this mold with the cartoon accurate head like they did with the sandstorm and slugslinger 2 pack. If that ended up happening, it would pretty much render this addon moot.

Agreed. The SS86 does some things better (as it fucking should for £90 retail compared to £50) but ER is a perfectly decent figure, especially for the price point. I think a lot of people have very black and white thinking that because something isn't literally perfect, or because there's an upgrade (no matter how incremental) it's automatically shit/worthless.

ER is my definitive Optimus Prime. Sure, SS86 is probably better, but ER is perfectly good and I'm happy with him. I do agree that his torso is too short compared to his legs, but it doesn't ruin the figure.

That won't happen. Retro Brawn was the second version of Brawn using that mold. Outback will be the first (and only) version of Outback. It's not the mold, it's the character.

Kek never mind I misread, I thought you were saying Retro Brawn shelfwarmed at first. I was wondering where you were you had not only seen him already but already piling up on the pegs.
86 Brawn went pretty fast around me. But incidentally, Retro Gears and Bumblebee both kind of warmed the pegs at my Walmart, despite being good looking figures.

The mold was released 3 years ago with a package refresh two years ago; compare this to Sandstorm, who got his new head the following year - if they haven't done it by now, they aren't going to.

Got my SS86 Prime and Megatron in today! Overall I like them both, but my feelings are a bit complicated. I'll start with Optimus.
(Warning: incoming pic dump)
Vehicle mode is pretty good. Nice and cohesively blocky. That said, the wheels are a touch small and ground clearance really should be better, also the exhausts are super loose to the point they borderline free-spin.
Trailer looks alright. A bit dark maybe but, well, it sure is Prime's trailer.
Oh yeah, Roller's there too. You know, Roller, the great Roller! It's OK.

Curiously he's the same size as Classics Optimus Prime in truck mode, give or take a bit. I won't lie, they actually look great next to each other.
Oh yeah, I will also say the truck mode does look a bit naked without the stripe. I know, I know, cartoon accuracy, but it suffers IMO. Might paint it myself.

The trailer is very, very...trailer-y? It does pretty much everything you'd expect it to, which similarly to the Earthrise one is "not very much". The extending stabilizers are nice, but honestly aside from being bigger and thus capable of carrying more stuff, it's not really the massive upgrade it perhaps could have been given the pricetag. It arguably loses some functionality given the lack of ER ramp connectors.

Transformation is...vexing. Not massively difficult per se but he feels more involved than Optimus Prime really needs to be, and for not much additional benefit. There's no wheels on his back, but the backpack he does have is arguably bigger and messier than ER's kibble.
The actual robot mode is great. Really nice proportions and a good level of sculpted detail. Would have liked more colour breakup but whatever. That said, my biggest gripe is the size. He's HUGE, like a head taller than Classics. I feel like Prime wasn't THAT big in the show most of the time. Admittedly the scale was completely all over the shop, and nobody stayed a consistent size (hence why I generally don't treat the scale chart as any sort of gospel given the animators certainly didn't) but he feels a touch too large next to the other guys?

Articulation is very good, I really like the butterfly joints. Those are genius. That said, elbows that bent more than 90 would have been good and there really is no reason they couldn't have been double jointed. Also his hips actually have slightly less forward range than ER, and I wish they'd done the "skirts built around the joint" thing like ER did.

That goes out the window when you turn the turret. The rotation point is set way too far back, so turning it looks absurd. Also I don't care for the grey barrel on the cannon. Ideally the cannon would have extended and the grey barrel could have been a secondary hull-mounted gun.

Transformation, ironically enough, is MUCH smoother than Prime's which is hilarious given they managed to make a very G1 accurate Megatron robot turn into a reasonably decent tank.
Robot mode is great. Sculpt is very good, though I would have liked bigger shoulders. The colours leave a bit to be desired, and if I can figure out how to deal with the masking nightmare given how he's mostly riveted together, I might give him a repaint. But mostly I like him.

Articulation is top shelf. Honestly knocks Prime into a cocked hat. Hip joints are the superior all-in-one solution, much better ankles and the elbows have better range. Prime has deeper knee bends but that's about it- Megatron can even achieve really good butterfly joints if you untransform him a taste.

Overall I think they're both good toys, but with caveats. Megatron is the easier recommend to me, as even aside from the ER version being absolute trash that doesn't even upgrade from the Siege, he's just a really solid toy in general.
Prime is a harder sell. There's a lot of really good Prime toys out there, and the much higher retail price is definitely a turn-off. I got him for £65 and that feels like a good price, but for the £90 or so he retails for, hell no. Megatron feels more worth his price.

>another green big guy

The thing is better than I thought

I guess it is a nice desktop devastator

The only issue is with the somewhat floppy joints, blokee's own joint piece doesn't really hold weight too well if it go beyond a certain point which most of the figures usually don't but this one does
and I wish Mixmaster got a back heel.

I also ordered a G1 devastator few days ago, it supposed to be the re-release from few years ago but I think it is just a high end repo version going by the price.
Anyway what I really want to say is I really wish they stop with the green and give us the other color such as yellow or orange.

They make for a great pair of figures and two of the best we've gotten from Hasbro in recent years. Overall I prefer Optimus to Megatron but it's close.

I did get a replacement fusion cannon as soon as a decent option was available. While it doesn't match the "black" of the figure it's still a huge improvement over the stock cannon.

"I hate anything new and fun" - Anon
>>
I've reached that horrible point where I feel like I need to get rid of some of my bots. Now I must choose who gets sent to the local toy store in the sky . . .
>>
>>11584217
Grimlock is larger than prime in devastation.. Or at least I thought he was. Turns out grimlock is actually the same height as prime. But a deluxe class grimlock wouldn't be something anyone would oppose, I think.
>>

Some anons really do feel like
>Why don't you guys want to talk about Metal Cardbotâ„¢?
>They are JUST LIKE Unicron trilogy toys
>I'm going to spam and shill until you like it! This is natural excitement!
I mean, I think there are some really cool designs and I'll probably finally buy a few now that they have a US supplier but this isn't the place for them.
>>
>>11584229
>just like UT toys

they have leg articulation and I don't see any mini-cons. The cards don't count.

If metal cardbot started making micromasters/minicon sized figures I would get into the series though
>>
>>11584227
I'd definitely get rid of my turtles first, or some of my vintage beast wars guys like Snarl that I just don't care about and who have been replaced, but.. yeah I know how you feel.
>local toy store
anon, have some honor. Post in BST first. Give your comrades a chance at them. Though at least a local toy store is better than ebay, especially with their fees now. You guys with your functioning automobiles...
>>
>>11584229
I haven't noticed that yet, in fact i've seen twice as much response/accusation as I have that, buuuut it is important to keep an eye on.

Then again, if my 15 year tenure on /co/ has taught me anything, if a particular franchise is being pushed in an irritating way, that's probably deliberate sabotage. People are amazingly easy to manipulate into hating something by the enemies of that something, as all modern politics can now attest.
>>
>>11584240
It literally only takes one dedicated shitposter too
>>
>>11584243
indeed.
It's amazing, at a time when it seems like you can have the law, the constitution, and even the majority on your side, that you're still powerless in the face of a tiny mob or a few autists.. that really if we all had the same dedication as the enemy, we could absolutely steamroll our way to victory.
But we don't. because good people don't do that shit. Fucked up people do.
>>
>>11584222
I like how solid they look but the designs aren't my style. I didn't care about the Unicron Trilogy, I was collecting Alternators.
>>
>>11584248

They're probably not very sure on how to handle the post-Sunbow G1 stuff since it's not as popular, hence they're falling back on 84-86 redos again.
They've been dripfeeding it over the years, but it's probably tough to pitch more than one or two a year. As it is they're still digging up Titans Returns molds just to get some of these characters back out.

And I'm jealous of your Ransacks. I'm not gonna be able to get him unless they do a single release, because I don't like this group enough to pay rape prices to complete the set. Agree that Chop Shop is the best off brand Insecticons though, looking forward to putting together a little display with him, Venom and Barrage later.

The biggest problem with Ransack is that the set he comes in largely sucks apart from him, so after paying a trillion dollars on the aftermarket for the set you only get the one figure you want and 3 fillers.

I got my replacement haslab RID Optomus today, haven't opened it up yet to check if it's really fixed yet though.

A friend of mine showed me some bits from the cartoon and it looks like standard 2000s kids' show fare, which is ironically a massive step up from the average modern kids' show. Unremarkable but inoffensive and with some cool bits. Toys are genuinely awesome looking though; if they'd existed when I was a kid I would have wanted them all.

Hasbro bros...

What is our response?
>>
>>11584441
Everyone knows the Red line was shit
>>
>>11584441
>Blokees fag trying this hard to push this literal redit slop
>>
>>11583070
If you read Marvel UK or watched some G1 S3 episodes, yes. But then again you're a tourist.
>>
>>11584441
Blokees are great, no doubt about that. Only have a few but I really like them, especially the Defender series (the tiny ones). Honestly though Hasbro fumbling the ball so, so hard on RED makes me equal parts frustrated and sad. Had they not sucked so much I think they could have actually been pretty neat, both from a perspective of well-articulated good-looking non-transforming figures of the characters that DON'T cost a fortune, and also being able to redirect Tooners to them when they complain about CHUG figures not being 100% cartoon accurate ("Just buy RED"). Unfortunately they completely fucked them up; they weren't all that accurate or good-looking, scaling was nonexistent, materials and QC were garbage and articulation was worse than the actual transforming ones in some cases.
What bothers me the most is Hasbro CAN make fantastic "regular" action figures. GI Joe Classified is absolutely peak and one of the best retail-level Western toylines out there. So why did they fuck up so fucking hard with RED?
>>
>>11584454
>or watched some G1 S3 episodes, yes.
NTA but Outback appeared in a whopping 3 episodes, which is a great deal more than Swerve or Tailgate admittedly (whose sole role was to be non-fatally stomped on by Trypticon) but still not much. I quite like the look of Outback and want to get him personally, but if your motivation for getting a character is their role in the cartoon Outback is not gonna be high on the priority list.

im a fan of Blokees but im also a fan of Studio 86 series.

Honestly 2025 is the happiest i was with transformers hobby.

- Blokees for FUN stuff (you can take them with you outside and just do all kinds of shit)
- Studio 86 is for EPIC cool COLLECTOR stuff that makes me happy

Blokees will never be considered good. Quit shilling these chink Legos.
>>
>>11584503
Not that anon but I think the full size ones are decent if like them to be action figures
>>
blokees action edition/classic class > model kits

blokees galaxy > action masters

blokees defenders > minicons/micromasters but non-transforming
>>
>>11584458
>(whose sole role was to be non-fatally stomped on by Trypticon)
>non-fatally
In fairness, we never did see them again...
>>
>>11583831
>Anyway what I really want to say is I really wish they stop with the green and give us the other color such as yellow or orange.

Yellow and orange never sells as well. Target had to put tonkatron on sale and then send the left overs to ross
>>
>>11584111
>they don't keep stock around for that long.

That means they sell their shit anon
>>
>>11584094
For the people flipping out, I imagine bbts gambled and had their boxes shipped over by DHL or similar and had to pay an extra $80 per box of 16. They spread the extra duty out, so about $5 extra per fig.

Why did they do this? Probably an attempt to get the figure in before Walmart and Amazon.

This unfortunately didnt work out for them because amazon sold their entire stock before bbts got theirs in and walmart put theirs out Friday night.

Still, they'll end up selling them. Stock seems low on mix master. The walmarts I've been to only got 2. Its going to be Wildrider all over again.

Imo if you are trying to finish devi, go to walmart today. Now. Or end up paying bbts
>>
>>11584531
Glad I moved all my pre orders from them to Amazon when the tariffs shit first started. I still have a handful of orders with them I wasn't able to switch, but I'll live with it. I don't think I'll be using them going forward though.

>>

>>
>>11584441
those new blokees figs look good but I just cant get into non-transforming toys unless its from a series I really like.
>>
>>11584593
Super7 did. And they were both overpriced, and crap, kek.
>>
>>11584650
super7 did not. They did Ultimates! which doesn't count. The main figures they did were more like kenner star wars figures, that is to say, less articulation than action masters, and no accessory gimmicks.
>>
>>11584635

Agreed. Exacerbated on the Blokees side in that it is also blindbox trash.

>>11583633
What can the Venin mold be remolded into?
They saved him for last because they had to.
>>
>>11584635
I used to think that too but then again I'm autismal as fuck. Some people want action figures of their favorite characters as they appear in the media. Transforming toys will always look worse than non-transforming action figures because in order to make a toy transform you have to make a bunch of compromises in both modes.
>>
>>11584635
It really is that simple.

Which Bumblebee should I get. The SS86 or the Retro G1 one? I think I actually preferred the look of the retro one despite the whole having to take the back of the car and make a shield..
>>
>>11584902
Retro G1 is my vote but I am biased as I much prefer realistic car modes. It is a good mold though. Can't comment on SS86 Bee beyond he kinda has clown shoes and the car mode is a bit of a mess (doesn't even work as Choro-Q Beetle IMO)
>>
>>11584889
don't worry I'm sure the shills on tfw2005 will still find a way to defend it
>>
>>11584889
I've seen cases of people sending their whole figure, magnus and all, and only getting the optimus core bot back. Just lmao.
>>
>>11584889
More than likely just selling mine and even then it goes for barely retail and nobody wants it
Actual scam Haslab
>>
>>11584902
retro one has a more realistic alt mode and a cooler blaster, but they both basically have the same transformation anyway. Retro G1 has more play value so I recommend them even if I really like 86 bee. However 86 bee is also like 9 bucks in some places

>>11584889
I feel like an idiot for expecting anything else, we all should. Of course Hasbro weren't going to spend multiple thousands to manufacture new parts and actually fix the issue. Much more cost effective to just run the same defective parts again and pay factory workers a few cents to sand them down.
>>
>>11584363
That would have required one to exist in the first place. We have a higher chance of the third dorvack mecha getting adapted.
>>
>>11585047
Give hardcore transformers autists.. about.. ~120$ for 3 amalgamous primes and I guarantee we'll see that third dorvack mech made with the power of weaponizer technology

Also, Core is a bit too small for Wheelie. He's only slightly shorter than Bumblebee.
>>
>>11585065
Dude i've been saying that about 99% of action figures for a long time now
I don't think it has to be that hard. Like, nobody needs mid-pic articulation, right? it's sternum AT HIGHEST. so that means the entire chest area is fair game. There's no reason not to have, like, 'deltoid' joints that swing out from inside the body, to let the arms raise.
