Thoughts on these? Always enjoyed them and thought they were neat, but outside of Polly Pocket, they don't really seem to be made anymore
>>
I'm hoping they get back in style some day. There always seem to be girly micro playsets available, but playsets for boys went out of style and never came back.

Me too anon. But it seems unlikely. These kind of more detailed micro playsets like Mighty Max relied a lot on many paint apps and unique tooling for the 'shells'. Doing those kind of things these days is so expensive and exactly the kind of thing toy companies avoid. They like tooling they can re-use many times with different mold colors and stuff that doesn't have to be hand painted since that's more expensive than paint stamping and the UV printing.

That one small company was making new micro playsets that were kind of a Mighty Max knock off, but they're really expensive for what you get since they're small production runs

There's some hope out there with the Adams Family and Trick or Treat's Micro Maniacs line
>>
take the micro sofubi pill

I hadn't heard of the Trick r Treat studios Micro playset before. Looks pretty cool, but I'm sure it'll be priced similarly to other small company ones and be like $50+

The Mattel Addams Family one is kind of nice but I still wish there were more micro sets sold at retail like the old ones that aren't that expensive. $30 for sets like that will never sustain a full line at retail sad to say.

Where do you get something like this? These are fucking cool.

Thanks anon! I agree I love them.
This particular set is from JSM Sofubi. It's about to go on sale via online lottery through their Instagram. I got this one through yahoo japan auctions, it just came out at a show last weekend. I didn't want to fuck around with missing it so I overpaid. They're very cool but if you're one of the people balking at the newer mighty max sets costing $50-80 you're not going to want these, which will cost you double that at least once shipping and tariffs come into play. Micro stuff like this are my favorite kind of toys so I don't really care what they cost so long as I can pick them up.

Mattel recently put out these playsets for the Jurassic World movie and they are alright. Plenty of sculpted detail, just not as much paint apps as Mighty Max. That's already a step up from those Polly Pocket and TMNT sets from the past decade, they use stickers for most of the interior.

Thanks anon. It’s a shame that they are so expensive. I’m glad you are able to enjoy’em. I’ll watch from afar dreading my economical status.

>expensive
They're basically hand made customs by individual creators like many sofubi, right? If thats the case, I get the price.

Those were great! I forgot those were out with the movie merch too. These very much felt like a cross between the detailed exterior of Mighty Max and the larger scale environrment interiors of those old Trendmasters Godzilla ones or the Primal Rage ones
>>
I enjoyed this a lot as a kid.

That one is cute.
