Robot toys discussion and pictures here
The last robot damashii thread has died a couple days ago and no new one has been made. MRD Lupus Rex is getting a retail re-release (april 2026), pre orders sold out insanely fast. I'm assuming it has better tolerances than its first run. MRD Marchosias was teased too.

I suspect it is because of how high the prices have soared, so interest in those figures has hot rock bottom

example, that Ryukouoh/Kouryuoh soul of chogokin figure for 50k (!) yen

the riobot Vysaga was also just released but with a demented price:

bandai just announced as a web exclusive the MRS Zeta Plus A1 for like 180 dollaritos, BASE fucking figure, the Hummingbird parts are either never coming out or will be released separately as PBandai shit like usual

if anything, Moshow annonuced another trio of grunts with a more conventional style, at least those will be more affordable:

>MRD Lupus Rex is getting a retail re-release (april 2026), pre orders sold out insanely fast

at this point I wonder if IBO fans would just opt for a more affordable choice, some chinese company is making the Lupus Rex as a model kit with a diecast inner frame under the name "Wolf Model" and it seems to include the same things and extras as the MRD

yes it is a model kit but once finished you basically end up with a Metal Build for a fraction of the price, preorder are already opening in Aliexpress stores for mere 60 bucks
>>

Many chinese die cast frames are notoriously shit for being extremely loose so dont jump the gun on buying it till it comes out with reviews.
The popular ones we hear all the time have good tolerance but i see more bad than good for no name companies.

It's over

I'm especially tired of anything p-bandai, kits or figures. I'll be very bitter if Marchosias ends up being p-bandai. If they end up doing Hajiroboshi I'm ready to bet my ass there'll be two separate releases for 1st and 2nd forms, when both could easily be included in the same package considering how little changes
>chest
Could easily make swappable red and white parts
>shoulders
Can already swap shoulders on Barbatos 1st-4th forms MRD, so easily doable
Then backpack and weapons which wouldn't take that much room

>>11586108
There's two of them from two different brands, but they appear to be exactly the same. I've been buying chink stuff, from figures to 3rd party frames for kits, for quite some time now. I'd buy IBO or IBO inspired figures/kits from them if they actually made some. Aside from the Wolf Model one there's nothing. I'm on the fence about it, on one hand I don't hate it but on the other I think it has too much detail, which is overly common with chinese figures. On some designs I don't mind, but I don't think it fits Lupus Rex well. Also what >>11586131 said. The Iron Toys ones in their original kits, while being a pain in the ass to assemble, are pretty solid. You have to tighten the screws yourself so you choose how tight you want it. But then you have less known brands, or one off brands with pretty bad metal frames. The Test-70 Colossus for exemple has a pretty shit frame. And in general most of them cuck you out of tightening screws. You can always try to fix it with glue or loctite but it's not ideal

>>11586139
everything is PBandai nowdays and the prices are just not worth it

>>11586131
I do know there are cases of chinese die cast frames being kinda crappy but that seems to be years ago, the recent stuff they have been pumping out is just fine. The last experience I have was diecast frames of Iron Toys for the MG Sinanju and the MG Strike and they are perfectly fine

What reallly irks me is the abysmal price difference with a gap that keeps getting larger every year, case in point that MRD Lupus Rex, never mind it is a meager 1/144 scale figure, the Wolf Model thing is a 1/100 one for a fraction of the cost

Getting to the extreme where the supposed license holds more value than the manufacturing price of this stuff really baffles me but whatever, currently I hold no interest for any upcoming robot figure

It blows my mind that they are confident enough over at Bandai to release a battle damaged MRD figure for the Mighty Strike Freedom.

Just how much money does SEED bring in? This is insane, I don't think I've never seen this type of figure done for this line.

The only similar one is the Metal Build Exia repair, but that at least has parts to convert it back into the RII.

God I hate how shit that mech looks.

>no shadowing or anything to make it more outstanding
jesus fucking christ, lazyfucks

>>11586595
You know whats worse? It doesnt have the 3 guns, the og sf backpack, no effect parts for the defender or the dragoons. But hey, you get some shitty damage, obari katana, and a lacus sama t pose.

I actually decided to double up on the koryuoh/ryukooh despite the price. I never managed to get the volks ryukooh because it was going for 35000 yen on the secondhand market even a decade ago; I want 2 so I can finally put them side by side. Can't argue the price isn't insane though, these are so expensive even as a huge SRWfag it gives me pause to buy them. The Riobot stuff at least feels like a better value for the money than what bandai is giving you these days, despite still being a ripoff.

I'd opt for something that isn't a fucking diecast frame or made of metal just to up the price.
My interest in Gunpla has increased drastically this year due to the prices of RD/MRD and such.
>>
Any recommendations for Robot Damashii stands? I have a bunch of my figures on risers but I wouldn't mind some real stands so I can pose them more fancily.
>>
>>11587483
One of the tamashii stage act, they're in stock on HLJ. Or a chink base off aliexpress with the same peg diameter. Gunpla action bases work too
